I follow an extremely progressive feminism page on Facebook, and they keep misusing trigger warnings. It’s been mentioned to them several times, and they’ve been asked to change their posting format, but they refuse. It’s REALLY pissing me off more than usual today... Just saying Trigger Warning is not helpful.
@ivyvines6 Ugh, how inconsiderate. I hope they get their shit together.
Mine is to my co-worker. She's 60, has never had kids, is super opinionated about everything, and always thinks she's right about everything. I was talking to one of my other co-workers who is also pregnant (due in April) and is a Type 1 diabetic. We were discussing my 3 hr glucose test results and she comes over from her cubicle, butts into the conversation and starts talking about her niece or whoever, who failed by one or two points, and is now considered to have gestational diabetes. Then she says, "But she's one of those people who are super skinny and always watches what she eats, so it doesn't make sense..." Um, yes, thank you for telling me in a roundabout way that I SHOULDN'T have passed my 3 hr glucose test because I'm clearly not skinny and don't watch what I eat. Because it's always the person's fault for getting Type 1 or gestational diabetes. WTF?!?!

I work at Amazon as an ambassador and there’s a bunch of people (5,000) in a big ol warehouse! There’s this one girl that I can’t stand mainly because she’s annoying. So it was break time and Amazon was serving free pizza to everyone... this girl comes up to me and says, “oh you don’t want to eat that because you’re already getting so fat from pregnancy” my blood was boiling when she said this. I work with my husband and he just tried to calm me down. But it kept bothering me so much that I cried for the rest of the day * I cry when I know I can’t do anything to you because I may get fired* other co workers that I get along with seen my face and it obviously look like I was upset and after I told them what happened everybody kept approaching her and idk what they said to her but she came back scared and apologizing... I just wanted to kill her but I know that’s not happening... and it’s funny every time she sees me which is everyday she goes down the stairs or walks opposite ways from me, basically trying to avoid me period. WTF RANT OVER.
I just had to add that the girl is not from here she just came to America a year ago and said in her native language that what she said is not insulting.. that she’s still learning English... she said “I didn’t mean you’re very fat like the American people here I just mean you’re getting bigger because of pregnancy” I just had to take a deep breath and WUUUUUSAAAAAA
@sandbar517 omg. That’s like a situation I faced with a PITA lady at my gym
**TW Missed Miscariage mentioned**
About 6 months before I was pregnant, the wife of the owner of my gym had MMC at 14 weeks. She’s very thin, a runner, eats all organic gluten free, basically is the picture of health but as anyone educated knows, most losses are not the cause of the mother but just a genetic issue with the fetus. She had already announced to the gym at 10 weeks and so we all knew about it and tried to be there to support her. So when this older woman at the gym finds out that I’m pregnant, like 7-8 months later, she’s makes sure to remind me about the woman with the MMC at 14 weeks and how “not to get my hopes up” since she’s so healthy and skinny and still had a loss. She didn’t outright say “you’re fat so you are going to miscarry,” but she tiptoed around it. It was very upsetting and annoying that she obvioulsy didn’t know anything about either of these pregnancies.

Basically I hate non-medical professionals who feel like they need to give medical advice to people without them being asked. They usually just make everything worse.
@bjkay22 and @missustexas Yeah, she really pissed me off. The worst part is she's a nurse, so she *should* know that type 1 diabetes and gestational diabetes have exactly nothing to do with your weight/health. People are just so damn rude some times.

We went to happy hour with my wife's old neighbor a few days ago, who is apparently a Trump supporter.
She proceeded to go on and on for an hour to us, a liberal married lesbian couple who she knows have had a traumatic late term "abortion" due to medical necessity, about how he's bringing back the positivity, he would never discriminate against anyone, and how he's teaching women to respect their bodies by not allowing them to have abortions. Oh, and "Did you know that all women who have late term abortions do it to sell the body parts?!" Thank goodness Trump is stopping all those women from doing that.
No explanation about how our actual situation would be made illegal, or that anatomy scans don't even happen until 20 weeks, could possibly get through to her. Nope, everyone is just in it to sell the baby body parts or because they decided 5 months in that they don't want to have a baby.
When really, she just feels that she can't afford healthcare and wants Trump to repeal Obamacare, so she's gung ho about ANYTHING he says and will justify it with whatever crazy thing she hears in support.
I was shaking trying to stay somewhat polite in public. I can let almost any issue go with an "uh huh, totally" other than that one.
In other news, she went on to say she's SO sorry that my child will have to go to daycare when I go back to work in August. "How will you deal with the guilt?"
@abhphilly can I slap her for you? My mother is the same way. No scientific information will penetrate her stubborn head. NONE. I’ve just taken to telling her that Trump is not her daddy, and she doesn’t have to sing his praises to me. It pisses her off but I consider us even because she’s acting a fool.
@abhphilly Oh. My. God. I would not ever be seeing or speaking to that woman ever again. I don't know how you stayed polite at all. I grew up in a very conservative, Republican, catholic household, and my sisters are still very much clinging to the pro-life rhetoric we were taught, and it makes me so angry. I don't understand how people can choose to stay so naive about these topics.

@ivyvines6@sandbar517 She's my wife's old neighbor/"friend," not mine, so I'm going to avoid her at all costs in the future. I'm guessing my wife will still feel some obligation to stay in touch, but will hopefully avoid her as well.
@abhphilly now my WTF seems really silly. What an asshat! I'm sorry you had to sit through her insane comments about something like that. I probably wouldn't be able to be around her. Next time your wife wants to keep in touch with her, just play the pregnancy or baby card so that you don't have to subject yourself to her again.
AFM- WTF Coca-Cola truck driver?! I went to the grocery store this weekend and when I entered the parking lot, the Coca-Cola delivery truck was stopped and blocking both lanes of the two way traffic to enter the parking lot. I stopped, thinking he was going to move the truck forward. Oh no, he starts backing up with NO REVERSE LIGHTS and gets about 2 centimeters from my car and only stops after I honked my horn about a million times. While this is happening, additional incoming traffic is coming in behind me, so I can't back up. Then the jerk has the audacity to get out of his truck, tell me he saw me, and then tell me that he's trying to back up so I "need to have respect for his truck." Umm, how about you have respect for everyone around you and don't come within centimeters of hitting someone's car?! Where did he think I was going to go?
@sandbar517 I took a picture of his license plate, went straight in and told the manager at the store, and have already filed a complaint with Coca-Cola and DOT.
All of your wtfs make me glad most days I only leave the house to go to Target or the gym!!!
My wtf is for me. Wtf I totally spaced that tomorrow is my sils birthday until my mom mentioned it. I hate birthdays at the beginning of the month! I can't think "oh yeah, it's their birthday month" because their birthday is the start of the month!!! I was too lazy to get the twins and I dressed for the store to get a card so I made one and had DD, her goddaughter, color all over it. That's good right? More personal anyways??? Ugh. Major fail.
I get a bonus WTF for myself, today, too. I had a phone call with a patient back in November where we went over changes in her medications, etc. and I "wrote it all down". I then (of course) just pushed it to the side of my desk, and am finally getting around to getting it documented and I don't remember what half of my scribbles mean. WTF was I thinking?!

I totally forgot about this random WTF from the weekend.
So I’m in Gymboree with my SIL and MIL, shopping for her (SIL’s) little boy due in April. And we are standing and talking about the babies and one of them mentioned Molly (the name we are using for our daughter, which everyone knows by now) and this random dude pushing a stroller is walking by and says “I hope you aren’t naming your kid Molly.” And I said yes I am. He said “well don’t look up the meaning.” And I said well I already have and I didn’t see anything to deter me other than the drug reference. And then he launches into this tirate about how Molly was a name used to refer to prostitutes in England and Scotland like a million years ago. And I just said “oh well.” And moved on. I just kept getting more annoyed by him, the more I thought about it. I wish I had asked what he named his kids so I could have pointed out why they are dumb.
Wtf to Netflix! They're losing more and more content and as of March 1st, their price is going up to $11! So I'm trying to binge random stuff before we cancel on February 28th. Right now I'm doing Grace and Frankies newest season.
Yup, new season came out last month, I think? I'm thinking we'll just reactive every few months if we remember. I figure if I remember I want to watch the new season of something on Netflix, then it'll be worth it to get it for a month at a time. We do that with HBO for GoT and will for Westworld when it comes back. Ad Big Little Lies (how are they doing another season???)
@abhphilly I'm so sorry you had to deal with such an insufferable jerk. I hope you don't have to be around her ever again. I don't know how you stayed polite at all.
@suchaglencoco OMG I feel like I want to boycott, because how CAN they have another season?? It just doesn't make sense. But I feel like my curiosity will get the best of me, and I'll end up watching it anyway.

you guys are making me hate people more than I already do
@abhphilly it's sick and sad and infuriating that people actually believe the stuff she was saying. I'm sorry you had to sit through all that and I don't know how you didn't lose your cool
My WTF happened yesterday but oh well. Well the story actually starts Monday when I get an email from a guy that he's WFH because he has "a touch of the flu" (whatever that means.) Then yesterday morning I get to the office and he's the first person I see! I was so mad at him for coming in and told him to stay away from me.
Mine happened today. I was at my mops meeting and the girl I signed up for beach body under came up to me and then proceeded to say I really should try and get a workout in I might feel better. I made the “mistake” of telling her I was currently unmotivated so she launched into a whole spiel. Like no thanks I’m happy eating Girl Scout cookies and chilling
@desguti023 I had to tell my beach body coach to back off when I got pregnant too. I told her I’d find her when I was ready to lose the baby weight this time around. Thankfully she wasn’t too pushy. Right now I’m perfect with your idea of Girl Scout cookies and chilling
@abhphilly I think you won WTF Wednesday. How you managed to not reach across the table and strangle her to death is amazing There’s actually a REALLY good documentary on Netflix about the subject but I cannot for the life of me remember what it’s called.
@suchaglencoco I binged the new season of Grace and Frankie this week too. I love that show so much. Did not realize Netflix was raising their prices again.
If one more person says, "just wait" when referring to after baby arrives I might not be able to hold back. I do not want to hear about your lack of sleep, losing your mind, the strain it put on your marriage, etc. I like to think positively and try to manifest my future with positive intentions and not dwell on the what-ifs, or the negativity. I am a super hippy but it's worked for me in life so far.
desguti023clee5711 totally get it. Actually my husband told, me this morning that I should go to the gym after work because it might help me feel better. We will see...but I am pretty sure sleeping will make me feel even better after a long week of work.
@justsuzie, I'm not getting the "just wait" comments so much this time around but with DS people made having a baby sound like the worst thing ever. Was I exhausted? Yes. Was I emotional? Definitely. Was it gross at times? YES! However, looking at the tiny little person who you carried for 9 months and delivered is amazing! The Love I feel for him is like no other feeling.
I'd like to dedicate this one to my parents who are no longer together and live on different continents but somehow say the exact same thing to me. Dad: I know you're pregnant but have you gained any weight besides the baby weight? You look...wide. Mom: how is the baby? Well I know the baby is very big and must be doing well because she's soooooo big.

Oh my goodness!! This is SO rude! I just hate the way people think about how we 'should' look!
@jenbabymama that’s HORRIBLE! People making comments on my body drives me crazy. I’m growing a person! Leave me alone! I don’t want to hear how big/small/wide I am! I am acutely aware
@clee5711 right I mean I told her I wasn't interested in working out so why keep harping on the subject?! Leave me alone! @justsuzie exactly. I mean it probably would help but I'm with you I think some sleep would be a lot better!

People really need to think before they speak and for the love of God not comment on a pregnant woman’s belly size.
@suchaglencoco yes Netflix needs to stop getting rid of so many shows and replacing them with dumb ones.
