Selfishly started this. 13w today - yay, first tri all but done so I should be feeling better right?
yeah. Massive massive amount of vomit today. I made the mistake that I was feeling ok and had time so, gasp, I ate within an hour of getting up. Silly me. So instead of my usual random gag it was puke. And then I thought I was done and walked away and wasn’t and didn’t quite make it bavk in time.
NOT FUN. Wtf.
Im hoping that when I stop taking the progesterone pills in a few days it’ll help lessen the gagging etc.
I’m finally starting to feel a bit better. I went from the max dose of diclegis to only taking it at night. I still feel more nauseous in the afternoon and evenings, but if I eat it gets better. I feel like I have more energy, too, but I’m not sure if that’s just because I’m taking less diclegis or what.
@lalala2004 I am glad you're starting to feel better!
My nausea is not as bad as some...not severe enough to warrant medication but it is present every day and noticeable and comes in waves. Makes me want to eat carbs and that is making me bloated and I'm feeling pretty gross. Also, the breathlessness is so annoying!! It wouldn't bother me so much if it didn't keep happening while I am explaining things to my class!!
@pghctwife I'm sorry, that is so rough! @lalala2004 glad you're starting to feel better. I'm sure it's a relief to rely less on the Diclegis. @ecwk I am with you on the breathlessness. I also find that I often feel like I have to yawn but then can't get enough air in, and it is super unsatisfying, and I sit there trying to get in a good yawn for like 5 min. Sorry if talking about yawning just made any of you yawn. I'm still on the nausea train, but I am not sure if it's left over from the stomach bug or if it's actual MS still. I was able to eat oatmeal and some chicken noodle soup with bread yesterday. I had cereal this morning, and it's sitting okay so far. Knock on wood, but I think I'm somewhat back to normal! I can deal with the waves of nausea as long as it's not constant!

I'm week 10 and this week has been the worse so far. I'm taking the night time dosage of Diclegis but if I take more I literally can not keep my eyes open. @lalala2004 how did you manage to take the full dosage? It's been so bad this week that I've only managed to eat crackers and they still sometimes come up. I'm getting worried. I called the doctor and she told me to up my dosage but I just can't if I want to be able to be awake. I tried taking an extra pill yesterday since I was off and I literally fell asleep without waking up once for 4 hours.
My symptoms are pretty much gone - besides a desire to eat my body weight every day and slightly sore boobs. I think going off the progesterone suppositories took away a lot of the ickiness I was feeling.
Anyone experience pins and needles? It happened the other day in my finger and just happened right now in both feet. It is not because I was sitting in an awkward position or anything like that, I walked into my room, sat down and all of a sudden my feet are tingling! Didn't last long, has faded away. Very strange.

Speaking of progesterone, I fell down the babycenter rabbit hole yesterday and found a thread where someone asked whether taking progesterone in pregnancy could CHANGE THE BABY'S GENDER* from what it was at conception. Not kidding. Wtffffffffff.
I've definitely passed the nausea phase and headed into the "eat my body weight in everything" phase. I'm up 5 lbs. Which isn't terrible, but has started to make me nervous. I'm officially the heaviest I have ever been (okay, so I wasn't doing myself any favors by being 5 lbs off of that when I got pregnant, but still). Trying not to stress about the number and instead just try making more healthy choices now that I'm not nauseous all the time and just eating whatever I can tolerate.
Still exhausted. But it's been a rough week at work, so I probably would have felt like this either way. Looking forward to a work free weekend and some healthy sleep!
My skin is awful. Like, crawl in a hole, sitting in my office with lights off, lamp on awful. I don't want to leave the house, makeup isn't really helping. It's so embarassing. I had this with DS as well, but I can't remember if it went away or when. I booked a facial for next weekend when DH is gone and DS is sleeping over at my parents.
I had acupuncture yesterday and told them to fix it with needles LOL It's giant red bumps that don't have anything in them, they are just everywhere, along my hairline, on my checks, in between my eyebrows. UGH. On top of that, still have a dry patch of skin on my chin that won't go away and I am pale, so everything is showing.
I'm sorry for the girls still battling MS, it's the worst!
Ugh - to everyone dealing with the ms I'm sorry - I hope it passes soon! And to everyone feeling better this week YAY!
I'm still falling asleep by 8 every night. DH is on strict orders not to try to move me once I fall asleep because then the insomnia will kick in and it takes me HOURS to fall back asleep. So I've been couch crashing every night this week except last night. Really excited for this exhaustion to pass -c'mon 2nd tri!
@ournextadventure I think I just got used to it. I had been taking unisom for so long it stopped making me as drowsy. I am feeling less tired, though, so clearly it was affecting me. I would just rather be tired than nauseous!
I'm 13w1d and still having nausea. Yesterday I was nauseated all day and got sick twice in the morning because I thought the night before that I would try not taking my unisom and b6 nightly dose. I realized how much it's actually still helping me. I was really hoping the nausea and vomiting would go away sooner this pregnancy but with my DD I was at least 16w before it backed off at all.
Despite the nausea I have noticed I'm more hungry now than I was even a week ago. And my dreams have been SO vivid. I'll wake up from them and it is incredibly hard to shake whatever I was feeling in the dream.
At the end of week 9. Felt great earlier this week. Even made it to the gym a few times. Yesterday afternoon I hit a wall of exhaustion, followed by a headache and severe nausea, but no vomiting. I finally gave in and took 1/2 a phenergan last night. I am still beat and trying to work from home today, but can barely keep my eyes open. Oh and woke up with some lovely acne to accompany my already pale, dry and exhausted appearance.
His three plus my one; we are all excited to welcome a little one!
scottishlass1213 I feel you! I have the exact same thing going on. DH keeps wanting to pop them... There is nothing to pop, dude! My dry spots seem to look ok when I leave the house and then later I'll look in the mirror and see that I have been walking around my office with my make up flaking off all over my chin! Come on "pregnancy glow" where are you??!?!
His three plus my one; we are all excited to welcome a little one!
@pghctwife I saw my doc on Monday and was 10w5d. She told me to go off the suppositories that night. Haven't taken then since Sunday. Symptoms pretty much felt better by Wednesday.
@mrsbubbles-2 I actually slept on the couch for most of my pregnancy with DS2. I found it was more comfortable for my back and I got way better sleep. I'll probably move to the couch for this one too once my back starts hurting, it's two flights less stairs to the bathroom so that makes it easier too haha.
I have the crusty bloody boogers and sciatica which is annoying AF but I still think I'm faring better than most. Most days I don't even feel pregnant until I look down and see my ever growing belly. I've also found that my sciatica bothers me the most when I lay in either of the boys bunks so I've been avoiding laying with them in their beds and it kinda breaks my heart.
I’m 10w4d and still so constipated that I look like a can of biscuits in my clothes some days. Once I’m not, I look normal and haven’t gained any weight, but the constipation can add on almost 5 lbs.
Also, and this is a slight bitchfest, I weight 30 lbs less than I did when I got pregnant with DS, but my midwife told me my weight is “higher than they’d like to see”. I’m 5’2” and literally anything over teenage girl weight is considered too heavy for me if you’re just looking at BMI. I realize they probably have to say that, but I wanted to punch my midwife at that point. Is weight anger a symptom of pg...? Ha

BMI is a joke too - so I hope she really wasn't going off of that!
14w and hoping the nausea may be subsiding... it has been the worst between 12 and 14 weeks so far this pregnancy, which is surprising as with my boys it was worse earlier (but did last quite long also). Getting a bit of RLP yesterday and today if I move too vigorously or quickly, which seems early but oh well. Also I have piriformis syndrome that flares up during pregnancy and it is already starting. Will eventually be using my health insurance coverage up in terms of all the physio and massage therapy they will pay for before then end of the pregnancy.
@kburg15 I think punching your midwife is the absolute appropriate response to that nonsense.
I'm so annoyed - I was working on day 3 of little to no nausea (12w tomorrow) and BAM! It's back with a vengeance. And I have to go grocery shopping after work... wah!
Thank goodness for nausea meds. I’m 13w today, and I’m still nauseous most of the day without meds. I started subbing this week, walked into the middle school caf today, and ran out before I puked everywhere. And my nose is so much more sensitive to teenage BO than before.
On top of the nausea, I’m still so exhausted. I’ve had to nap almost every evening this week in order to teach the next day. I haven’t gotten a call for tomorrow yet, and I don’t have a scheduled job, so I’m kind of hoping I don’t get a call to sub and I can sleep all day.
I've been getting some RLP right on top of my pubic bone on either side that feels like someone is literally stabbing me. Like RLP and lightning crotch combined. Pregnancy is glamorous.

I get random RLP (got one yesterday sliding out of the truck) that makes me bend over in pain. Also nausea, and nothing sounds good to eat. 13 wk 2 days here and I've been off the progesterone pills for a week so I was hoping the nausea would subside. Also I'm tired all.the.time

@kburg15 I would not have been pleased by that! I actually wanted to hug my OB's nurse today because when she went to weigh me I was like "I have gained a lot" and she said "well, I think you've got a pretty good reason!" No need for weight shaming in pregnancy unless there's an actual risk to the baby.

What really pisses me off about doctors talking about weight during pregnancy is that there’s really only two concerns:
1. Gestational diabetes. But excessive weight gain is a SYMPTOM of GD, it does not cause it to occur.
2.It will be harder to lose it the more you gain. Well, no shit. Everybody knows that. No pregnant woman goes in saying “Let’s see how much weight I can gain!”
Sorry for everyone with the nausea and sickness still! My nausea has mostly subsided, but if I get hungry and don’t eat right away it kicks in. I’ve also been craving carbs, which I typically stay away from since a lot of it can trigger my migraines. I’m trying to eat it all in moderation sinc emy headaches have been acting up.
My boobs are less tender and no more cramping, so I’m slightly paranoid, but trying to relax. Staying patient for my first OB appointment next week. 10 weeks tomorrow, so symptoms subsiding is normal and I remember this happening last time.
Also, pure exhaustion. Just so tired. I was getting better, so I think This week it’s pregnancy on top of taking care of flu stricken DS and DH, working from home, cleaning, laundry, listening to whining, etc. it’s 8:30 and I’m laying in bed already. DH is still summoned to the guest room, so I’m enjoying the peace and quiet in a big bed alone.
I've gained at least 15 lbs already, but it is what it is. Eating was the only thing holding off nausea until this week. Now eating makes me want to throw up. I'm not sure if I'm catching the sick that's been going around, or if my symptoms are just changing. I now have a splitting headache (feels like sinus, stabbing behind my right eye) and the nausea is worse. I'm at 13+3, and I had really hoped that the nausea would improve by now, but it appears to be headed in the opposite direction. I'm so over this! I really didn't expect early pregnancy to be this miserable.

@Firemanswife11 and @scottishlass1213 not sure how far along you both are, but my skin seems to have turned a corner this week (I'm 12+5). I'm hoping that I'm moving towards 2nd trimester "glowing" instead of the first trimester grumpy pimple monster that I was for the last month (at least). Hopefully time will help you both too!
+1 for embarrassing skin issues. I get dark spots around my chin when I'm pregnant. They made their lovely appearance last week and won't lighten up until after baby comes. Even after then I still think they are noticeable. Strangely I didn't have the linea negra though on my belly.
Iv'e never used liquid makeup or foundation before so I may give it a try this time around. Any products you ladies swear by for cover up/ concealer/ foundation?
