Hi everyone! Paranoid mom to be here... today my car engaged its automatic brake ( wasn't necessary). My car lurched to a stop and my seatbelt dug into my lower belly. I'm so worried it hurt the baby. Thoughts?
If that's the response you give a worried first time mom, then you have no business being on this site. Shame on you. These discussion boards are meant to support, uplift, and share advice. Stop trolling me and move on.

Have you offered support to anyone on this board? Call your doctor if you are concerned. We are not your personal Google.

To be fair, OP did post a sweet message in response to the pics in the ultrasound thread a couple of weeks ago.
Def. call your doc. But to ease your mind, I often read about how the baby is tucked in so snugly that it is more safe and secure than we could ever realize. But I am not a doctor, so I really don't know...
LOLOL! Hang on, let me catch my breath, that was hilarious. You want to tell one of the most supportive ladies on here that she has no business on this site when you've never participated except to use us as your personal google?!?
Have a nice pregnancy everyone. Clearly I'm not used to these online groups and discussion boards. For your information I was just seeking a little reassurance from the group.
But seriously, you have offered zero support to anyone here, we have no idea who you are, and 99% of us are not doctors. If you're worried, call your doctor. Just because this is your first is no excuse for rudeness. Stop making us first timers look bad.

I’m in too good of a mood to say much here. But. Mmkay.

If you want support you need to give support. Maybe you were supportive on one thread at one time but with your generic knottie name and generic picture how would anyone even know? @livinthesunnylife is my girl, nobody blames her of trolling!

Oh, but I thought you were the expert on what these boards were for?
Nothing like a sobering reminder as to why I moved from active participant to lurker... sorry op, I also committed this deadly sin!
Again, I don't think you know what lurker means. Can't you just troll somewhere else? Or white knight? Or whatever weird thing it is you think you're doing.
@lee143 Ok - I was going to stay out of this because you're not worth the warning, but I can't. There's literally a loss thread like 2 down from this one from a mom that has provided support and who will be truly missed from this community. Have you bothered to offer support there? Or are you just here to stir up shit? Because I was already thinking that you're a pretty crummy person for the whole AE thing but to come back just to stir up more drama when our board as a whole is saying goodbye... it's unbelievably cruel. So pardon my unwelcoming tone but we were better without you and your petty drama nonsense.

Ignoring the drive-by nature of the post and only bc I have experience with studying biomechanics in car accidents during pregnancy, yes a seatbelt can hurt a fetus, but this usually happens in extreme decelerations or impacts from car crashes. Not knowing how fast you were going or how fast you stopped, this is probably a question for a doctor and you could request an ultrasound to see if everything is okay in there.
Re: Can seatbelts harm the baby
In all seriousness, if you are genuinely concerned do you really go to an internet forum of people you've never even spoken to and get our opinion?
