@Sarafuss thanks. Honestly the amnio is very scary to even think if but i know that that is the best way to tell if there is a problem. For the NIPT, did anyone have the counsyl test? Ive heard of materniT and Panorama but I havent heard of this one. It is the one that our office does.

@busymommy23 I had the counsyl. I haven’t looked over the whole report bc I am waiting for our gender reveal on Saturday. To be fair, I got my blood drawn before New Years and had to get it redrawn a second time because the first time the lab didn’t get it quick enough to test. But the second time the results came back really fast
@busymommy23 I can’t imagine how scary it is to get those results and the wait must be killing you. While 1 in 5 is obviously a strong chance it still means there’s an 80% chance everything is fine...lower than you’d want but the odds are still on your side. Fingers crossed the NIPT has good news for you
@devilcat139 this is exactly what we discussed late last night. I think the initial shock was just a bit much but now I have a clearer head and am able to think and believe and trust that baby will be ok.

@busymommy23 im so sorry you got those results, and while i do feel the odds are in your favor, it’s still unpleasant and unexpected to have to clear this hurdle after all the ones you’ve had to to get here. Thinking of you this week as you wait for results.
Did any of you recieve your numbers from the NT blood test and ultrasound? I called and got mine today because I didnt get them yesterday and Im trying to understand them a bit more.

@busymommy23 oh no, I hope you get better news through the NIPT. I would probably opt for the amino too after a rollercoaster like that. I’m so sorry you’re going through this. Hugs.

I had an ultrasound today (I’m 16w3d) and everything looked good! The NT measurement is now normal and a few things have been ruled out. I decided to get an amnio, which will be scheduled for next week or the week after. @busymommy23 I was also on the fence about getting one but while talking to the dr today I realized I would be worrying for the rest of my pregnancy like I have been the past 3 weeks, which has been really hard. I’ve heard from a few who have had them that the procedure really isn’t too bad
Ok so I got impatient and call Counsyl to find out if they had released the results to my dr. They said that they released them yesterday. Shr told me to call the office if they werent showing online yet. I called my office and they had me on hold forever. They told me that everything with the counsyl test came back normal! No trisomy 13 or 18! I about fainted when she told me. I had my husband on the other line and she asked if we wanted to know the sex of the baby. DH said sure.....we are having a little GIRL! AHHHHH! I was hoping for a girl but at this point just wanted a healthy baby! Im over the moon right now! Thank you to all of you for the thoughts and prayers!

I just got all the results from the California screening program - about time! - and everything came back negative. Now I can start stressing about the anatomy scan...
So this last week doesnt seem real. We found out we are having a precious baby boy, however that was the only good bews we received. We went to a high risk doctor to have Jacksons heart looked at and turned out we had some soft markers for downs. His heart has a defect (AV), we have a one arterary and one vain umbelical cord and his long bones were measuring short. The doctor says we think he has down syndrome...okay a break down of course but I say we can handle down syndrome!!! We love him and they can lead a very full life!! We do the amnio, worst 5 day wait ever. It only got worse frome there. Turns out he has full Trimosy 13. The 50 cells they tested from the amniotic fluid all tested positive. For those who do not know what trimosy 13 is...its rate is 85% babies dont make it to birth. He is so precious and I want more than ANYTHING to have my baby boy. However I do not want him to have a very short life full of pain. The ones that do make it to birth usually pass away within hours or days. I have a fourth opinon in a day and a D&E scheduled for that morning. Honestly Im afraid of waking up after the surgery I want my baby so much.

I have worked with T13 babies and their families and I know that no matter what choice you make, the path you’re on is an extraordinarily difficult one.
