Re: TWW Monday 1/22

  • Still quiet today? Usually TWW is posted by now!

    Month/Cycle: 2/2
    Cycle Day/DPO: 21/4
    Timing: good as can be
    Typical LP length: 12
    Testing: Saturday (9DPO because wine)
R/R: I'm just drained today. I feel like I came in to work putting out fires and personal life is a bit much to handle today. And although I haven't been trying long it's still a hard TTGP day for me today.
CS/Q: nothing to see as I don't temp.
GTKY: It's Monday, let's forget how much they can suck. What is your favorite thing about your job/career?
I love my hours and my office. I work at a satellite location so it's just myself and one other woman here. She is awesome and we get along really well. And I'm finally in a solid 830-430 monday-friday job and it's amazing to get a work-life balance.

  • Wow, I’m never the first poster, I will try not to post and ghost but Monday’s are tough  :)

    Month/Cycle: 5/6
    Cycle Day/DPO: 16/4
    Timing: decent
    Typical LP length: 12ish
    Testing: trying to WFAF
R/R: it’s Monday, blah. But my manager isn’t in the office so that makes it better (I like them, but I get way more done with they aren’t physically here!) rave: I woke up and worked out this morning and I feel so much better about the day bc of it!
    CS/Q: nope
GTKY: It's Monday, let's forget how much they can suck. What is your favorite thing about your job/career? The people I work with. The work I do is challenging and frustrating most of them time but it helps that I have a great work group! And I have quite a few friends at work so it makes it much more bearable.
  • @zamora_spin I think it would be worth a shot to try an appointment with the founder of your acupuncture clinic. You could try it out this Friday and see how he differs from the other person you've been seeing. If there's not much of a difference, then you could continue doing it on Saturdays if that fits into your schedule better. In my opinion, if there's any way to up your chances, might as well try it! If you end up seeing the founder, you'll have to give us an update on it. Also glad to see you acknowledging that acupuncture is kind of "wuwu." I feel kind of odd doing it as I'm not quite sure it's not all hocus pocus, and MH thinks it's kind of weird, but at this point I'm ready to do whatever might even remotely help. I also found it uncomfortable laying face down for that long, but thankfully the last several times she's been putting the needles in my abdomen, so I get to lay on my back. My back is also extremely ticklish, so I hated it when she put the needles in my back.  :#

  • @offtoneverland and @zamora_spin I should add that it's not always peachy since there is a disconnect between offices and it's a bit of a mess sometimes. PLUS my boss is an asshat, I'm just glad he doesn't work in my office.
@nmbrcrnchr1 you're such a trooper with those morning work outs!
@galactickates sorry about the delay! hopefully not anymore. My mom used to be a project manager building houses. I know the delay all too well. Even when she built her house when I was younger she still couldn't get it to close on time.
@acciocoffee cheapies have a way of just burning a hole under our sink don't they?!
@offtoneverland I think everyone is WTO it's crazy! Stay strong and stay away from the HPT's! Sorry about the BFN though. Hopefully it's still really early.
@zamora_spin your job sounds really rewarding!
  • Hi all! I haven't posted on the community since I was pregnant with my first born back in 2016. We are TTC with our second this year! :)

    Month/Cycle: 1/1
Cycle Day/DPO: 24/8 or 9 (my cycles have been crazy since I stopped breastfeeding and finally started periods back in October. My ovulation have been a bit difficult to detect, and the apps I am using to keep track seem a bit off, but my CM seemed to be within a couple days of the correct timing...does that make sense? Haha)
Timing: (Can someone tell me what timing we are referring to?)
Typical LP length: I am not sure yet. My cycles haven't been regular lately. I am guessing 15 days.
Testing: I want to test so bad right now...but AF isn't due until the 28th and I feel like that is a long gap. I will probably test on Wednesday morning.
R/R: We got a puppy for Christmas and he is AMAZING and smart, but working on the barking at the door when he wants to come back in makes me want to pull my hair out since it's right at my son's bedroom window and I don't want him waking him! But otherwise I should count my blessings because this pupper is really smart!
    CS/Q:
GTKY: I am currently a stay at home mom! Which has always been my dream. Although sometimes I get that urge to want to work...then I remember my anxiety when working and decide I like this better.

I am excited to be a part of the community again! I read through the ultimate TTGP guide and I want to work on making a signature and all. And learn to use GIFs!

@offtoneverland Yeah, I mean acupuncture is part of a very long Eastern medicine tradition that has developed over thousands of years, so I have to think there is something to it. But I also think the science is shaky. There was I think a German study showing really big gains for IVF patients using acupuncture, but then there have also been studies showing, meh, no real difference. Some IVF clinics offer acupuncture in tandem with FET's so it's clear that some drs do think there is a benefit. For patients who have issues with their cycles (spotting, short LP, etc) it's easy to tell if the acupuncture is "doing something". As RPL patients we are probably the hardest to measure results because there is a good chance of having a successful pregnancy with no interventions of any kind. DH also teases me when I tell him stuff like "my acupuncturist told me to eat a lot of root vegetables", but I'm just like, dude, it's cheaper than IVF so it's worth a try. That usually shuts him up, lol. eta words
  • @Whitmore1027 welcome! Timing would mean how good your timing was for sex during FW. Just a heads up a lot of ladies here are TTGP for the first time and many of them have been trying for many months and on a journey of IF. We try to keep these dailies free of talking about current children or past pregnency. Especailly without using a *TW* (trigger warning) prior if you must discuss. There is also a TFAS (Trying for a second) thread once a week that we tend to use to speak out current children and past pregnancies so please feel free to share all you want there! But on this end try to keep it at bay a bit since a lot of times reading about others who have been pregnant/have take home babies can be really hard, some days more then others. We like to keep it a safe, welcoming space for everyone - including those who might be having a bad day. At least they can avoid if there is a TW or it's on a specific thread :)
  • @kristah2 Thanks for the info! Sorry, I must have missed where it said not to speak about any first children when reading the ultimate guide. I'll try to keep that Under Wraps. Believe me I understand, it took me a year and a half to get pregnant with my first. Although I personally never felt triggered or anything with other people having babies. But I totally understand there are people who do! So I'll definitely be more careful when I post. :) I'll also look for the trying for the second thread as well! I'm definitely interested in that one. :-) Thanks again!

  • @kristah2 I went back to read  the guide so I make sure not to make any more mistakes in the community.  If you know who would be able to edit the guide because it says that you don't have to do a trigger warning if you talk about current children. I just don't want someone to make the mistake I did after reading the guide. Believe me I totally understand and will try to be careful in these threads, but this is why I was a little confused.

  • @Whitmore1027 I think the guide is general among all boards and threads so in the correct place there is definitely no need for a TW (example in the TFAS thread there is just an over all general TW, we even have a thread where people share their BFP's! but since it's on its own people who are having a hard TTC day can just avoid it). It's also not as much against TOU (like you won't be reported or anything for it!) but more of a common courtesy for others on this specific TTGP page.
Thanks for reading up on everything before jumping in! You seem like you are going to be such a great asset to this group! Especially considering your previous TTC journey was a long one, you're definitely going to have some great insight to share with others when it comes to questions etc.
  • @kristah2 Okay perfect! That makes sense!! Thank you for explaining. I will keep that in mind! I really don't want to hurt anyone's feelings. I want to be as much of a support person as I can be. Thanks for the kind words!!

  • Hi everyone! Pretty new on this board.

Month/Cycle: 21/15 (regular cycles, had a couple benched and self-benched months)
    Cycle Day/DPO: 23/9
    Timing: -3,-1,0,1,2
    Typical LP length: 14-15 days
Testing: trying to be patient until Wednesday

R/R: Extremely ~hormones~ this month, my poor DH. On the plus side, I’m hitting my goal for cooking regularly instead of getting takeout/delivery so much.
    CS/Q:
GTKY: It's Monday, let's forget how much they can suck. What is your favorite thing about your job/career? Great health insurance/benefits lol. Honestly, I like that I get to help people, even if it’s very behind-the-scenes. I’m work for a hospital lab, and we contribute a lot to patient care even if people don’t know we exist.
  • @lin0442 Our TWW is really similar! I thought that was really neat! My best friend is a lab tech, so I totally understand how you feel. I hear a lot about what goes on and how you guys just aren't very appreciated. It's so sad!! Ya'll go through a lot!

  • @zamora_spin Totally true about it being cheaper than IVF! Haha. MH made fun of me today for asking the RE if acupuncture was helpful or just "hocus pocus." He said "You can't call it hocus pocus; you're the one who wanted to do it." Ugh, men! (I'll post more about my RE appt on the TTCAL thread in a bit.)
@Whitmore1027 Welcome! I don't believe we have a new TFAS thread for the week yet; I can start one later if no one else has. :)
@lin0442 Hey there! Good to see you here. :) GL testing on Wednesday! That's great that you've been cooking regularly this week. What kind of recipes have you been making?
    @kristah2 YGPM. :)

  • @kristah2 we must have been posting at the same time, we are TWW twins this time (I’m on 4dpo and typical LP of 12)...I’m going to try and not test at 9 dpo but honestly I prob will, and then drink wine bc it’ll be a BFN! Lol
@galactickates yay for getting my he house picked up, and Fx you just O’d so your timing is great.
@offtoneverland I’m just doing home workout videos for now, I need to join a gym but I have little free time during the week. Sorry for the BFN! How’d the RE appt go? If you posted this somewhere else I’ll read it tonight when I get all caught up on TB
@zamora_spin no worries, yes it makes me feel better that others have been there for an hour. I think next time I’ll go I’ll ask to lay on my back, bc laying on my stomach for that long was not comfortable
    welcom @Whitmore1027 and @lin0442
