This is a place for those of us who have already started TTC, but have started infertility testing and/or treatments. You can express your thoughts, feelings, and frustrations on infertility. TTC can be a long journey naturally, then add in the difficulties associated with infertility, and it becomes a whole new ball game. The road to infertility can be lonely, frustrating, and complicated, so let's make this a place where we can vent, ask questions, and support one another. Feel free to resurrect this thread at any point in the week if you have something to say. Treat this as an ongoing conversation.

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): IVF #2
How are things going?: Ahead is gonna be a pity party rant, so tread with caution
So I know I am only 2dpt, and its too early to feel anything, but in my heart, I feel out already. I don't know if its my gut intuition (which has so far been right about needing to use IVF and about cycle 1 going poorly), or if its my heart just trying to protect myself in case, but either way, I am not feeling excited, more sad and scared, and that sucks. When do I just get to 'enjoy' this process like a normal person? When/if I get pregnant? When/if I make it past 12 weeks? When/if the baby is born? Like, at what point do I feel relief? Answer: Probably never, welcome to adulthood.

Oh god, once the dreaded 'got my period didn't realize' situation happened to me. I bled through my pants at a sleep away summer camp when I was in 9th grade. A boy pointed it out to me. MORTIFYING.
@beachbunnyxo123 good luck today! I hope you have a bunch of mature oocytes!
Diagnosis (if you've been): MFI and Septate Uterus
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): benched
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Surgery today
How are things going?: Well I’m just hanging out in the surgery center waiting and listening to some girl talk about her toe fungus GROSS!
Any questions?: none

UGH I went to Catholic school and I was in the 6th grade. I went The bathroom and after i walked back to the classroom sat back down and looked up and my sister was at the door, she was a grade above and a few doors down. She ran back and informed me that my school uniform skirt was tucked into my underwear and her whole class saw. SO EMBARRASSING!
Diagnosis (if you've been): DOR, AMA, autoimmune
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): TWW (well, WFAF)
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Did IVF#3, transferred a day 4 embie, nothing to freeze
How are things going?:
Sorry I think I’m going to jump on the pity party bandwagon today.
Pretty crappy. You all know I test at home, and although I’m “only” the equivalent of 11dpo (7dp4dt) the tests are stark white this morning. Like they could be in an advert for a white detergent kind of white.
Then I had my annual appointment with my family doctor today, it’s a new one for me who is a bit more holistic.
Firstly my AMH has dropped to 0.52, plus I’ve got so many points out of normal ranges she said if she’d had the results before she would not have recommended we transfer and would have requested my RE to freeze the embryo on health grounds (only way we can freeze single embryos here).
So I’m pissed at my body, pissed at my RE, scared about having to go overseas next for more treatment and feeling totally despondent.
And as my RE won’t do my beta until next Monday, my doctor today took blood and will let me know Wednesday (slow rural service, but still faster than next Monday).
Ok this thread is really rocking it today...
Any questions?: Anyone got a magic wand?
GTKY: Tell me about a time you completely embarrassed yourself
I have one of those ted baker dresses with the zip all the way down the front. It is red. Bright red. So not subtle. I used to wear it for conference parties, and at one we were getting a bit wild on the dance floor (we have a few older guys who are freaking awesome dancers, throwing you around and twirling you all over) and suddenly my zip unzipped - not slowly either. All the way to my boobs which then on the next turn popped it right open... like rightopen to my undies. And by undies I mean a very pretty but revealing bra and panty set from Victoria’s Secret, and suspenders...
Absolutely mortifying at that moment.
Actually in the end turned out ok as *everyone* knew who I was after that and it made being remembered much easier in a company with hundreds of thousands of employees. Also at that time I was 20kg less than today, so if that’s the image everyone has imprinted on their brains it is not the worst one!
@kiwi2628 For me these IVF TWWs after ER are somehow worse than normal as you know you have a growing embie in there, and the progesterone gives you realistic symptoms. Huge hugs. It’s absolutely normal to go through highs and lows during this time, and a lot of them. Sorry I have not found any way to make this any easier so far.
Did you get your final freeze report?
@beachbunnyxo123 good luck today! Hoping for great numbers!

@ndz2018, I hope everything goes smoothly with the surgery today!
@emmasemm, oh no, I’m sorry the doctor’s visit was so discouraging. I’m glad you can at least get a faster answer about whether the transfer worked, and I’ve got everything crossed for you!
Diagnosis: Dual factor: Low AMH and low sperm count
Status: Seven Week Wait for IVF consult...3 weeks down, 4 to go!
What are you doing this cycle?: Just trying to get healthier and as ready as I can for IVF.
How are things going?: I’m down 6 pounds as of this morning and am feeling pleased about that! Other than that, just hanging in there. I ovulated over the weekend, which made me a bit sad as I know there’s very little chance that egg wasn’t wasted...But I’m trying to focus on the things I can control.
Any questions? : Nope.
Tell me about a time you completely embarrassed yourself:
I think this sticks in my mind because it was right after I started high school, so I was trying extra hard to be cool. We were taking an exam and the room was completely quiet...and I got the hiccups. Not only did I get the hiccups, but I was congested and breathing through my mouth at the time, so my mouth was open and the first hiccup was SUPER loud. Everyone jumped and turned to stare at me and I just knew I would be “Hiccup Girl” for the rest of my high school career!
And if you find a point of relief - please tell me when lol I just don't see that happening. There's always something to stress about in my head!
@ndz2018 Good luck today!!!
@emmasemm shit. I'm sorry. FX it's still a bit too early.
Where would you go for more treatment, if necessary?
Diagnosis (if you've been): MFI - Low count.
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): Waiting for ER!
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Shots, shots, shots, shots, shots, shots... I have my first follow up scan and blood work tomorrow. Hoping to see that things are moving right along.
How are things going?: Ok so far? Right now I'm doing Gonal F at night and Menopur in the morning. Menopur burns. My first day wasn't bad. Yesterday and today burned and of course that's the one I'm doing on my own. My husband is doing my Gonal pen for me.
Each time I do my own shot, my thoughts range from, holy shit look at me being a bad ass...to, fuck I can't believe this is what I have to do at this point. But I also check it off of my calendar as one less shot to do! I'm trying to mentally take it one at a time so it's not as overwhelming
Any questions?: I started Friday night...so I've had 3 gonal shots and 3 menopur. At what point do you start feeling bloated from the meds?? I almost want to feel bloated bc then in my mind it's working, ya know? So far I'm feeling ok...just a touch bloated but I also cheated a bit on my low carb diet this weekend so it could easily be that.
GTKY: Tell me about a time you completely embarrassed yourself. Ummmmm I really don't know if I have anything to add here. I mean I've absolutely done dumb shit but I can't think of anything big that stands out? I'll come back if I remember anything good!!
@ndz2018 Good luck today!
@emmasemm HUGS friend. FX it's too early.
@beachbunnyxo123 Thinking of you today! Hope you get lots and lots and lots of eggs!
@augusta108 Whoot! Congrats on the weight loss!
@50wife Can't wait to hear your update tomorrow! You ARE a bad ass!
Diagnosis (if you've been): AMA, MFI (?)
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): TWW / 10dpiui
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): We did IUI #2 (IUI #1 with new RE on 1/12)
How are things going?: So far so good. We got the SA results back (we had just had the post wash numbers for the IUI, the full workup came out a couple days ago). All I can say is HOLY S%#*. DH's numbers went from 67 million (first SA back in June) to 191 million! And his morph went from 0 to 3%. I guess those vitamins are working. Which now leads me to think that I'm the problem, my old eggs are crap and I've started some vitamins to hopefully help with that, and will be starting on a better diet. If this IUI doesn't work out, we'll be going in for CD 3 U/S (and hopefully b/w) and a discussion on next steps. Since DH's numbers are better, I was thinking 1 more IUI, but I feel that may just be a waste of time given my age.
Any questions?:
GTKY: Tell me about a time you completely embarrassed yourself. Oh God I'm sure there's a million but all of them are escaping me at the moment. I'll come up with something at some point today.

@emmasemm I'm sorry for such a disappointing conversation with your doctor. Does this mean your RE would be able to freeze embies in any future cycles? I've still got my fx that this cycle does it for you! *hugs*
@Augusta108 Good for you for doing so much great work on your health! Fx it pays off.
@50Wife Sounds like you're handling the shots like a champ! Fx for an amazing monitoring appointment.

Diagnosis (if you've been): unexplained, AMA
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): TWW
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): This was medicated IUI #3. Beta is today.
How are things going?: I've been assuming this cycle will fail, and generally feeling less stressed out because of that. I haven't tested at home or anything though, and now I'm feeling kind of freaked out about my beta today. I go for the blood draw in an hour. If it's yet another BFN, we're taking a couple of months off from medical intervention, and boy am I looking forward to that.
Any questions?: For folks doing IUI, do you see the same nurse for each monitoring and IUI appointment, or does it vary? I think I've seen about eight nurses over the course of nine visits, and it kinda sucks! Each is good, but no one takes the time to get to know me at all.
GTKY: Tell me about a time you completely embarrassed yourself. Let's see. There was that party in grad school where I walked right into a screen door. That was definitely embarrassing.
@darkstar42 eek good luck today!!!!
My practice sounds a bit smaller than yours - there aren't that many women who do ultrasounds in our office. I've only have had 2 women do my scans so it's a bit easier since I know it'll be one of the 2

@emmasemm I am so sorry for the BFN, friend. And so mad that your RE didn’t run the tests your doctor did beforehand. I hope you get some good news but if not I hope you’re able to find a good plan moving forward. Hugs.
@Augusta108 congrats on the weight loss!!
@50Wife I agree that the shots are overwhelming and I’m also trying to take it one day at a time. When do you go in for monitoring?
@RVAmom315 that is an awesome change in numbers!! I’m so glad the improvements have helped!
@darkstar42 good luck today!! I saw about 3-4 different nurses for my IUIs but once I started IVF it’s just been one nurse.
Diagnosis (if you've been): secondary IF due to endometriosis
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): IVF
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): currently doing Lupron shots, starting stims on Friday!!
How are things going?: so far, so good. Doing the shots isn’t fun at all, especially having to do them at work, but I haven’t had many side effects so far so that’s good. I also noticed that the shots have been forming the pattern of the Little Dipper on the left side of my abdomen so I think I’m just gonna roll with it and complete the constellation because I can’t think of any other way to make these shots less awful
Any questions?: nope

When I went for my checkup at the doctor when I was in ninth grade she asked me about my classes and I told her how I was taking Spanish and it was so hard to understand my teacher because she had a really thick lisp. Well I see my mom giving me this look and I realize that my doctor (who I’m talking to) has a really thick lisp also. Oops...

@Augusta108 congrats on the weight loss. Sounds like the time you're taking to focus on you is paying off! hope it is making the wait a little easier.

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): repeat u/s in 2 weeks to check on the cysts. pretty sure they were caused by the clomid

I can't think of a really good one so I'll go with a recent one. Last week I slipped on the ice in the parking lot at work and fell on my ass. I couldn't look at the driver of the car that was like 5 ft from me. but I didn't drop anything or even spill my coffee. It was more embarrassing that they made me go to employee health and complete a report with security.

@emmasemm (((((((((hugs))))))))). Your feelings are valid. It sounds ridiculous that with so much in the line that you RE was not on top of running other testing to ensure it was where it should be before transfer. I know how precious each of your embryos ate & how hard you worked for that one to transfer.
@ndz2018 GL today!
@RVAmom315 Holy Batman- good change in the SA! Glad that everything improved. I hope that this IUI is it for you.
@augusta108 That’s no small weight loss! Good job reminding yourself what is in your control vs out of your control.
@50wife Did you ever do injectables with IUI? Clearly, you’re in more for IVF vs me on IUI I jectables. I was nervous after letrozole/clomid + 4 days of gonal-f when I did not feel anything. It wasn’t until day 5 of gonal-f that I started feeling bloated. US after Gonal day 3 showed me still responding, though! TLDR: I hope the lack of bloat for you is a good thing!
@darkstar42 3/3 visits, I have see my RE and the same nurse. This last visit I also saw the ARNP. I would be highly frustrated at rotating nurses. Do you have an assigned IUI nurse coordinator? Or clinic assigns a care coordinator and That’s the nurse liaison you use for any issues that arise.
@shortstack930 Ded @ the Little Dipper. I also often speak before I realize things like your GTKY.
Diagnosis (if you've been): Autoimmune stuff, ovarian/adrenal insufficiency, borderline low AMH, low progesterone.
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): Triggered at 1am & IUI tomorrow!
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): IUI w/ injectables.
How are things going?: Pretty well. I’m nervous because I get lots of hope when we try something new. This is our first IUI, so I am working to manage realistic expectations. I still managed to lose 1.6 pounds last week! For some ridiculous reason, I joined the weight loss competition at work during this cycle. It’s helped keep me focused on more healthful choices.
Any questions?: Not right now!
GTKY: There were so many period incidence in HS. I had such heavy periods and no cramps whatsoever. I would start my period and within no time have so much blood it was on my chair. I would bleed through super plus tamping and pads in less than a class period (90 minutes). Once I switched to home bound/modified schooling, it was so much less stressful.
One time I texted my boss about my boss rather than my sister.
When Mh & I were newly dating, I clogged his toilet after he left for work. I couldn’t get it unclogged, I was late to work, tried again at lunch, and left work early to work on the clog before he arrived home. I was mortified.
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): waiting.
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): today had bloodwork and I have an HSG friday. Donor is doing stims and so we are just waiting.
How are things going?: it's fine. I was dreading the appointment this morning. I've really liked not being held back with so many appointments and the break from needles and probes.
Any questions?:
Nope

@ndz2018 , good luck with your surgery! I am always so thankful when someone stupid is in the waiting room. It keeps my mind off of my impending procedure and instead I can focus on how disgusting/rude/interesting they are.
@emmasemm NO! I am so sorry you are seeing white. How discouraging. Obviously I will hold hope for you regardless, but I am so sorry it's looking bleak. Let's focus on baby steps first and wait for the beta results before you get overwhelmed with next steps. You are amazing and you are doing a phenomenal job.
@50Wife - Oh, interesting. I didn't know people split the meds like that. That's kinda crazy.I figured they were all at once so you could forget about it, but I guess not.
@RVAmom315 , I want to droll over you H''s numbers. OMG. so amazing. I really hope this IUI worked though, so there won't have to be "next steps"
@darkstar42 , While I really hope your beta surprises you, I also am so glad to see you are in a really good space right now. If you do end up taking that break, I really hope you love every moment of the R&R.
@shortstack930 - I literally laughed out loud at your constellation pattern. OMG. You crack me up.

Diagnosis (if you've been): MFI/RPL, all that jazz.
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): CD2!!! GUYS I FINALLY STARTED! Funny story, I was over at a friend's house Saturday night, day 4 of provera. I expected CD1 to be after my last pill, not before, so I really wasn't expecting it. So I went to use her restroom and TMI- I've been having really bad diarrhea the last few days. and so when I wiped I saw blood and immediately thought something was wrong and it was part of the BM. And then I realized it was period. Haha. So I walked out and looked at H and my friends (who have been earnestly waiting for CD1 with me) and said "Do you want good news or bad news?" And they said "bad" So I said "We have to leave now" And they asked why and so I said "Well the good news is that I started my period!" And I didn't have my cup with me since I am all about tempting fate. Haha.
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): IVF. OMG.
How are things going?: You know. I'm just doing IVF this cycle. 43 cycles culminating in this. So basically I just want to throw up.
Any questions?: Actually yes, do they give you what time to take the shots? Or just a general timeline? Or is it totally open? My issue is this, I really wanted H to help give them to me. he is a nurse. So it would be nice. But I leave the house at 7 AM, and don't get home till about 9 or 10. On days he works, he won't be home at all when I am home (he works nights). But he shouldn't be working more than one, maybe two days. So do I do shots either really early and/or really late? Or should I have him meet me in my office to give me shots? Or should I just do them at work or school myself?
GTKY: Tell me about a time you completely embarrassed yourself. Oh gosh. I embarrassed myself a lot as a kid. On high school I was screwing around and was acting like a cheerleader and kicked, hit myself in the face with my knee, and completely fell on my ass. in front of an entire auditorium. So that was cool.

@ndz2018 Good luck today!
@emmasemm Sorry you had such a disappointing appointment.
@Augusta108 Good for you - 6 lbs is great!
@50Wife I can’t wait for your update!
@RVAmom315 That’s awesome his numbers went up!
@darkstar42 GL with the beta!!
@shortstack930 I’m excited for you to start stims - hopefully this is the cycle!
@Avrilmai I’m really hoping you get the all clear after the ultrasound. Where should you be in your cycle by then?
@jrm_14 Good luck with the IUI
@rallykat14 Hopefully all your tests go well!
@KristoKekerooni Yay!!! So glad you finally got it... what a wait!
@ndz2018 good luck with surgery!!!
@emmasemm oh hun, *hugs* so hard. I am sorry you feel out and about your bloodwork. I hope your Wednesday beta comes back positive- FX
@Augusta108 Waiting is the worst part of this whole process. I hope your IVF wait goes fast
@50wife when you are doing these shots, remember, this is you:
@RVAmom315 that amazing how much his numbers went up. I have so many FX that this IUI is it
@darkstar42 FX for your beta today!
@shortstack930 hahaha my H and I made a smiley face on my abdomen with some of the shots (and subsequent bruises)
@Avrilmai I always got cysts from clomid- giant, annoying cysts (twice they were functional too)- hopefully yours will be gone!
@jrm_14 good luck with your IUI!
@rallykat14 I am so excited for your donor to be sitmming!! I know what you mean though, about going to the doctor 273687246 to be poked and prod. Hopefully soon you will be that reward though!
@KristoKekerooni goodbye #periodgate and helloooooooo IVF!!!!!!!!!! I am so happy for you!
@Avrilmai I hope things are looking much better at your follow up and your not benched for much longer!
@rallykat14 we had about a month break before doing IVF - it's nice to not have appts and blood draws and shit, right?? Hope things go smoothly with your donor! Do they give you an update after each of her appts?
And girl, I 1,000% would not be doing my own shots unless I absolutely had to! My husband is on shift work so he can't be on a crime scene and just be like ah, it's 7 am - you guys got this right?? lol
@KristoKekerooni Yea I was hoping it'd be one time a day so I could forget about it, but not so much. For my shots, they told me to do them between 7-9. So I got a window and just did what worked best for us with his schedule and mine.
Wondering if you could do 7a so that way you'd only need to do a few on your own and he could do the rest before you left for the day? Mine is a little different since I'm doing 2 so I'm not sure if they'd care if you did them AM or PM if you were doing once a day?

Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): TWW
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): second cycle on letrozole
How are things going?: Okay I guess. FF changed my CHs but I didn’t agree, however changing it to FAM moved them back. My H is going to be leaving on a work trip this week, which Is brutal since I’ll either test or get AF when I’m home alone.
Any questions?: Nope
GTKY: Tell me about a time you completely embarrassed yourself
Oh man - there’s a lot! I think having an IF meltdown at a couple of friends in our favorite restaurant is probably the most recent
ndz2018 good luck today!
emmasemm ugh.. so sorry your recent test results are not great. I'm still hoping that embie proves everyone wrong!
Augusta108 wow! so great you're down 6 lbs!
RVAmom315 wow, so many ppl in the 2ww! Hoping you wont need any more iui's
darkstar42 OMG! Good luck on your beta today! Did you do any hpt's?
shortstack930 lolling about you making a shot constellation!
Diagnosis (if you've been): Old AF
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): Benched waiting for surgery
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Getting pre op testing this week ahead of surgery next week
How are things going?: meh... super annoying having to wait a month for surgery and be on hormones which also sux.
Any questions?: nope
GTKY: Tell me about a time you completely embarrassed yourself laaawd! I do SO many things. But the one that popped immediately to mind was in High School on the school bus. There was a younger girl I was friendly with (junior high) and she wanted me to meet a friend she was bringing home for a hangout. I was like: Oh.. is he your new boyfriend??? Silence.... it was a girl

@ndz2018 Good luck with your surgery today! (And totally gross about the toe fungus conversation.)
@emmasemm I'm sorry the HPTs aren't showing any sort of promising signs and that your doctor is concerned about the transfer. I hope in the days to come that your doctors are able to give you a better plan of action, even if that means overseas travel is needed for you to finally have the desired outcome. (Your dress story is absolutely amazing!)
@Augusta108 Yay! Less than a month. That's awesome that you've been doing so well with your weight-loss journey during this time.
@50Wife Yes, you are a total amazing goddess of a woman for being able to handle those shots, especially since I know all too well how that Menopur burns. Definitely a week in I was feeling really bloated and I couldn't believe I still had more time ahead of me.
@RVAmom315 Such fantastic news about the mega improvements in the SA. I hope your RE is able to give you some good info about where to go from here.
@darkstar42 I hope all goes well with your beta. I'll be refreshing to see if there's any news!
@shortstack930 Body mod artwork? Ha ha!
@Avrilmai That's so frustrating that the Clomid probably made your situation even more frustrating. These medications seem to be such a crapshoot at times.
@jrm_14 I hope everything goes perfectly for your IUI tomorrow!
@rallykat14 Eee! I'm so excited for you. I can't wait to hear the count for your donor!
@KristoKekerooni Thank goodness AF FINALLY decided to show up for you. For the shots, I asked my doctor to give me a window of time, preferably after I get home from work. I made a little chart for myself so I could keep track of left/right side injections and the times. I did my Menopur and Gonal-F at the same time, but I know each RE recommendation is different. There are very few shots that have to be given at an exact time during the day (like right before the ER), so usually they can give you a window of time that works for you.
@Sailing_Mama I haven't used FF, but it sounds like there are so many issues for it for those of us who don't fit into the "standard" category. Hugs for your H being away.
@dragonette505 Fancy meeting you here.

Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): preparing for FET #2
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): I'll have bloodwork this week, so nothing too exciting until the u/s next week.
How are things going?: I've been so busy that I really haven't been thinking about the FET much at all, which is nice. I've been going on lots of adventures and got to check out some sea turtles this weekend.
Any questions?: So... I found out my neighbor across the street is a medical assistant and has been doing it for 31 years. I don't know her very well, but we walk to the bus around the same time every morning and wait together. Would I be a complete psycho if I offered to pay her to do my PIO shots?
GTKY: Tell me about a time you completely embarrassed yourself. One time in HS I ditched my religious youth group meeting and my boyfriend met me in the parking lot. We were fooling around in his car (in the church parking lot) and a few minutes later, a cop taps on the window. I turned every color of red that exists and the creepy cop was staring at me a little too closely as I made myself decent. Needless to say, I didn't try that again.

@RVAmom315 Thank you! What amazing improvement on the SA! I’m so happy for you. Fx for your beta.
@50Wife Yeah, alternating between two people would be fine. If I do any more procedures at this clinic I’m going to request to schedule with only one nurse or with two. Seeing different people every time is stressful!
@shortstack930 Thanks! I suspect my clinic assigns one nurse to IVF patients as well. Love the shot constellation. That totally sounds like something I would do.
@Avrilmai Thanks! I really hope those cysts resolve soon! I totally slipped and fell on my butt crossing a major street a couple of weeks ago. No injuries, but it was definitely embarrassing!
@jrm_14 I’m so envious that you see your RE whenever you go in! I still haven’t even met my new doctor in person. I have no assigned coordinator either, so when I call I’m always talking to different nurses. Argh. I have my fingers crossed SO HARD for your IUI tomorrow!!!
@rallykat14 The waiting is always so hard. Glad that things are getting going for you though!
@KristoKekerooni Thank you.
Waiting for betas is
always torture. I just got a call from a local unknown number and freaked out,
but it was a political campaign wanting me to volunteer. Sigh. I do think MH
and I need a break from all of this, so I’m trying to look forward to that. I
am SO THRILLED that AF finally arrived for you! Feels weird to say, but I’m
really glad you can get this show on the road.
@Sailing_Mama Thank you! Testing while home alone is tough. Are there friends who will be around to support you?
@Kiwi2628 Thank you!
@dragonette505 Thanks! I didn’t test at home. Even though I’m assuming this cycle failed, I like to keep that tiny spark of hope until the last minute. Hope all goes well with your pre op testing!
@AlohaKumu Thank you! I’ll be sure to post once I hear from the RE. Your adventures sound amazing! Sea turtles are pretty awesome creatures. Another vote for asking your neighbor about the PIO shots.
Having a good time with my boyfriend at the time (in college). His bed was right next to the window, and it was summer - the window was open. I am, ahem, quite vocal. His parents come home (didn't hear the car pull up) His mom calls up to us:
"Whatever you're doing up there, doesn't sound too good out here." I DIED. It took me a LONG time to look his mom in the face after that.

YAAAAAASSSSSSSSS
We are having PGS testing done on those 4 frozen nuggets so we have 7-10 days to wait for those results, but in the meantime I am hoping I have (as my H and I are affectionately referring to it as) Fergus the Fetus growing inside me! (and yes, I am aware its an embryo and not a fetus, but I like the ridiculous sound of Fergus the Fetus better than Ernest the Embryo)
darkstar42 I am always so amazed at people who can resist testing!!! I'm one of those ppl who need to know! lol
RVAmom315 crying!!! lol omg.
@ndz2018 I hope your surgery today goes smoothly, good luck!
@emmasemm Ugh, I'm sorry about everything. I wish we could get some magic wands that worked for this - the black market should get on that. Also - OMG to your dress story - I can totally see that happening to me. I have tried a few sports bras with zippers and they never stay up on me, I'm pretty sure they are intended for women less well endowed that me in the chest area!
@Augusta108 Way to go on the weight loss! Getting healthy during all my testing is my focus right now too.
@50Wife That sucks about the burny shots - but you are definitely a bad ass for doing all of them!
@RVAmom315 That's a great increase for DH's numbers! What vitamins is he on?
@darkstar42 FX so hard for good results today!
@shortstack930 Lol to making a constellation with your shots - way to make the best of them!
@Avrilmai FX your cysts have resolved and you can move forward!
@jrm_14 Good luck tomorrow!! Did you manage to get it unclogged before he found out?
@rallykat14 I bet the break from pokes is lovely! I am just starting that stuff so trying to mentally prepare for all that's coming.
@KristoKekerooni Hooray for a fresh cycle and IVF! FX so hard for you!
@Sailing_Mama Sorry you have to be alone for testing/AF. Here's to hoping it's testing instead and then you have time to find a fun way to tell DH!
@dragonette505 I'm sure you've mentioned it but since I'm new to the thread forgive me for asking but - which surgery do you have coming up?
@AlohaKumu Hahaha, I totally got caught in a car with a boy when I was younger - thankfully I wasn't in a church parking lot. Then you have the cops and God judging, lol!
Hi ladies, I hope nobody minds if I jump in here but I am now officially part of the IF club and I am sure I will have a lot of questions that I know a lot of you probably (unfortunately) have answers for already. I know you guys are a wealth of knowledge and support so I'm hoping I will be able to pull my weight and contribute!
Diagnosis (if you've been): About to start my first round of testing - day 3/21 blood work, pelvic ultrasound, and a SA for DH. At this point all my doctor has given me for labels is secondary IF but I'm sure more to come.
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WTO
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): This cycle I waited too long to see my doctor to get anything done as I saw her on day 6 so just trucking on until next cycle when I will start all the testing.
How are things going?: OK - I never really expected I would get to this point with nothing happening. We have been TTC for 17 months now - 11 months actively and 6 months in the middle where we weren't actively trying but not protecting and still half-assed paying attention to timing. It's such a stressful process so I'm glad in a way I've at least reached the point where we can hopefully figure out what the problem is and where to go from here.
Any questions?: I do have a question about my upcoming bloodwork - I won't have an issue with my day 3 test but then I will be travelling internationally during my FW so it will be hard to temp/confirm O. So doing the day 21 (or likely day 24 for me for a typical cycle) testing will be tricky because I likely won't actually have data as to when/if I O, and I know travel can mess with things as well (there will be a 9 hour time difference so I'm guessing the jet leg will be pretty bad). Should I still do it next month, or wait until the following cycle when I am home the whole month? I want to get going on things but also want to get an accurate representation and not have to repeat a bunch of tests if I can help it.
GTKY: Tell me about a time you completely embarrassed yourself - I do this on a pretty regular basis because I am a klutz but the worst time was when I was on a date right after I had moved to the city for University. We were downtown and I was wearing a dress and heels (and I am not a heel person normally) - we were leaving dinner to go for a walk to somewhere and I apparently didn't see a curb and fell right off it, twisting my ankle - right into a puddle. I couldn't get back up on my own and there were people everywhere so lots of witnesses. The guy I was with could not stop laughing and did zero to help (that was shockingly our first and last date) so thankfully some strangers came to my rescue and helped me up and drove me home. I never wore heels on a date again until I met MH and had been with him for months!
