Things went very smoothly. Honestly I feel SOO much better than I did after the last ER. I was able to walk out to the car instead of using the wheel chair. The last ER I was in tears I was cramping so bad. This time I am feeling very close to the same as I did when I walked in to the ER, bloated....very slightly crampy but fine.

Got my PGS results back! Out of all of those eggs 5 were normal , 5?!??  I was kind a hoping for a couple more… don’t get me wrong. I am very happy for the 5  normals!

I’m sorry I’ve been MIA. I literally have been going from work to straight home & to bed. The struggle is real.

@bpietronicco I am really sorry to hear tourniquet doctor is concerned. And to have to wait more for another ultrasound.. thinking of you :heartbreak:

@ndz2018 I’m sorry you were hoping for more but I’m so glad 5 were normal! I honestly haven’t seen or heard of people getting many positive results from PGS! Congrats!

@krenee124 Do you or anyone for that matter know much about Mosaic(undetermined safety)  because I have 3 and though they don’t recommend them for transfer at this point they are still keeping them frozen for now. Here’s the report
  • Options
@ndz2018 don’t quote me but I BELIEVE this means there are cells that have multiple different genes to them. They were not all the same “genes” in each cell. I don’t think this is BAD or GOOD but more likely unknown. Great plan to go with healthy ones first and maybe they’d transfer 2 of the mosaics down the road.
  • Options
@ndz2018 here is a site to read a bit. Basically they have some of both normal and abnormal cells. Some could correct themselves before birth and some may not. https://www.growinggenerations.com/egg-donation-resources-for-intended-parents/what-are-mosaic-embryos/

@ndz2018  Great that you have 5 normies! I'm sorry you didn't get as many as you were hoping for, but 5 (potentially 8) for transfer is still a good number.

AFM, I had my FET consult with my RE yesterday. We are all set for a FET next cycle! I'm currently 10 dpo and still on progesterone. I'll probably stop it on Sunday and AF usually shows a day or two later. I'll be on Estrace to suppress the ovaries until mid-cycle, and if my lining looks good, they'll add in progesterone and do a transfer 5 days later. The RE was really pleased with our results and visual quality of our embryos and doesn't think my issue has been egg quality like has been suspected all along. I'm a little bit nervous that my adenomyosis is the problem, but she said that studies have been inconclusive on that front and there are women who go on to have successful pregnancies with it, so I'm going to try not to worry for now. If we have one or more failures, my RE is totally open to exploring other protocols. She is so awesome.

@ndz2018 UGGGHHHHH AF is horrible! I actually started spotting at 9DPO and it got progressively heavier until she showed up on 11DPO (yesterday) while I was still on progesterone. Guess she was really intent on visiting. I feel like sh*t. The bloating and gas pains are sooo painful. And this migraine doesn't help. *TMI* I can't do tampons/disposable pads because the chemicals in them burn my skin, so I use cloth. I am currently in postpartum absorbency. This blows. Today is CD 2 so hopefully I only have one more day until the worst of it is over.

@tosh24 I hope you'd feel better soon. I read on the net recently that soaking your hands and feet in warm water while applying cold compress (like a bag of frozen peas) behind your neck would alliviate severe migraine. Rest well. ((Hugs))

Thanks, ladies. Migraine still going strong today. I usually have acupuncture right before AF starts to help alleviate some of my symptoms but my DTCM couldn't fit me in this weekend. I'm going at lunch time today so hopefully that will help some.

@tinjp78 Thanks! I do use a cold compress often (I have a migraine disorder so I get them a lot) but I should try doing it while soaking my feet. I've heard of that before but never tried it. Worth a shot!

Like straight up out of a horror film lol. Heating Pad and see if you can get some pain killers!! I again luckily had Percocets laying around from an old procedure on my knee not only took them after the ER but when I got My AF they came in handy girl!

@bpietronicco I hope that you get good news soon. I am sorry that you are being kept in limbo of non answers.

AFM I just got the call from the lab. Out of 10 only one made it to blastocyst. So they biopsied and are waiting for us to decide whether to send it off or try another ER to add more. I am so devistated. I felt so excited about this time and had high hopes that we would get at least 2 for testing and transfer. After testing even if we only had one for transfer I would have been fine. I feel like it's too much of a risk to just send one for testing and risk not being able to transfer at all. Hubby isn't at that point yet so we have to talk about it and get on the same page. So @tosh24 I unfortunately won't be joining you for a Feb FET as of yet but might be looking more towards a March/April transfer. For anyone that has been remotely in this position how long after the first ER did you have to wait to start another?

@mandurz I am so very sorry :(. I wish there was something I can write on here to make you feel better about your little fighter. I hope he/she is strong!!  As for another ER I would contact the nurse immediately about it, I know of a friend who was pushing 40 and they wanted to get as many eggs out of her before they did a transfer and she did two back to back ERs so it is possible to go right into another .... that being said it all depends on your doctor when it comes down to it

@mandurz ugh I am sorry :disappointed: I was hoping for better results for you! I have been excited! Is that blastocyst grading well per your doctor? (Although I don’t always believe their grading). I hope you and hubs are able

@mandurz I am so sorry that you did not end up with more blasts like you were hoping for. Were you doing a freeze all cycle because of doing PGS? Did your clinic say how many embies made it to day 3? If you are only comfortable transferring PGS tested embryos, then of course your options are more limited, but if not, would you consider doing a fresh 3 day transfer as well as trying to grow the remaining embryos to blast? I can understand your hesitation with sending only the 1 for PGS testing and I would feel the same way. I hope you and hubby had a productive talk about plans moving forward. There have been (and still are) lots of women on the IF board who have had back to back ERs so it is possible. I would ask your doctor asap.

@tosh24 my clinic doesn't do fresh or day 3 transers at all. They have said research shows better outcomes with letting the body rest after stimulation as the stimulation process can negativity effect the uterine lining. I know that a lot of clinics do fresh transfers and get good results but with NCCRM being within the top 5 clinics around the country for live birth rates I am more inclined to trust that opinion. Not to mention it has worked for me before. With PCOS, I have lower quality eggs so we anticipate loosing quite a few. I just wasn't prepared to hear we lost all but one. I know it only takes one but with our last transfer ending because of genetic issues I can't run that risk again. I am waiting to hear back from the clinic....as it happens they closed today because of snow...again, so just waiting for them to open back up hopefully tomorrow to find out how much just the ER costs, how soon I can start and will talk that over with hubby to see what decision we come up with together. Today he sounds more on my side but now quite there yet. He doesn't want me going through another ER and have it end with worse results. Of course my MIL thinks she knows everything cuz she was a nurse and is telling me I should have waited longer after my miscarriage, and need to wait longer before trying another ER. I said I will go with what the Dr suggests because this is his specialty and gets good results. What I wanted to say was it's not her fing choice, it is between me, hubby, and Dr to decide what is best. But I was a little nicer.

So surgery is on for MONDAY!! And we now have our FET calendar! March it is! Sunday I will Stop my BCP and Monday night I start Estrace 2 x a day for 4 weeks and on 2/13 I start progestrone for 14 days. After i stop both those pills I should get my period with 3-5 days and then prep for FET!

@mandurz Makes sense. I have heard of quite a few clinics that don't do fresh transfers anymore. I know my clinic is currently running a study on fresh vs. frozen transfers. Your MIL sounds a like a peach. That "advice" would have been really frustrating to hear. Hopefully you, YH, and your doctor come up with a plan you're comfortable with going forward (and your MIL keeps her nose out of it!).

@ndz2018! Yay! Things keep chugging along! May be a dumb question, but I'm curious - why do they have you stopping BCP and doing a cycle of estrogen/progesterone before your actual transfer cycle? Is there a reason why you don't just continue BCP for another month until it's time for a period and FET prep?

@ndz2018 very happy for you, hey maybe we can be transfer buddies in March (although if I do choose to do the 2nd ER before transfer I am sure it will be at the very end of the month). March is a good month cuz it's my birthday month

@tosh24 yeah she has always had "advice". Just today she was grumping about hubby being out of the house even though he is slightly sick (cough..no fever). My SIL text me and said she needed to stay out of it cuz he is a big boy and can make his own choices. She is hilarious.

@tosh24 Not dumb! Not sure about the BCP part but I know He said after they remove the septum it will almost be kinda like raw I guess from where he cut away in my uterus and he wants my lining to be perfect for the March for my transfer I suppose he’s starting early to make sure? It’s the only thing that makes sense to me. I honestly didn’t ask, but I kinda Remember hearing something along those lines. I was talking to him for like an hour so a lot was said! I also LOVE him! He’s great!! Super happy and smiley older gentleman! When he ask me who will be with me at my surgery I told Him “My to be baby daddy” he was hysterically laughing! We had a great appointment!  Lots a laughs!
