Pregnancy dreams

Any of you gals have some weird pregnancy dreams or dreams that actually came to be?

With my first, I dreamed it was a girl several times ( we were team green), and that she would love orange (random I know). But both came true. We had a little girl and now as a toddler she loves orange haha!

So last night I dreamed this pregnancy was twins. I feel like it's a shot in the dark because the chances are so so low, but I got a little excited. I have my first ultrasound Thursday so we'll see :)

Let's hear those dreams ladies and if any have manifested!!

Re: Pregnancy dreams

  • I have been having a lot of very vivid and memorable dreams since my BFP. Some I even wake up and feel like I can smell things that were in my dreams, like hay, a horse barn, pine forest, etc. If nothing else they've been enjoyable. But none about the pregnancy itself so far. Yours sound so interesting, especially about the gender and such!

  • @neeraja_k oooo the smell of pine is my favorite, that would be a nice treat in a dream!

I wrote down some of my other dream details about her in her baby book (mostly was what her favorite things would be flower, candy etc.).  They were just so vivid I had to write them down. We will have to wait untill she is older to see if those manifest. Should be good for a laugh either way :)

  • I've had crazy dreams for about two weeks. I had a very vivid one that my dr told me I was going to have to have a C-Section and promptly started trying to cut me!! So life like and so much blood. Creepy!! I've also become a super light sleeper when I used to be able to sleep like rock.
  • I’ve had HORRIBLE dreams for a week. The best of them was that I peed all over the carpet in my DD’s room. The worst are too bad to mention. I hope none come true. I don’t remember having crazy dreams with my last pregnancy so I am hoping I can get a good night’s sleep again at some point.
  • Before I tested positive I had a dream I was pregnant and it was a girl. But then when i was introducing people to the baby I started to question whether it was a girl and was about to check but then woke up.

I also had a dream I miscarried but I also was miscarring strawberries. It was so weird.

  • I had a dream my husbands uncle passed.  Turns out three days later my husband got a call that his cousin (his uncles daughter)  passed away. I also had a dream a friend of mine, who is 8 months pregnant, showed up to our planned dinner, no longer pregnant. When I asked her if she had the baby, she said “no”. It was implied that she lost the baby. Scary, because my dreams are always opposite. I am afraid to find out if someone I know or myself is going to have a miscarriage. Sigh!

  • @danelle+miguel are you pregnant with twins!?

  • I’m having super weird dreams but I don’t know the people in them. It’s like I’m writing a book with new characters in my dreams. So weird.
  • Last night I was a monkey hanging from a tree like 1000 feet up, and my dad was next to me secure but I was not and had no safe way to get down. Earlier in the week grandma’s house went up in flames (I was in there and had to escape). Seriously every single night for 2 weeks I have had the weirdest or scariest dreams. How do I get them to stop???
  • I had a 'Stranger Things' dream that I was co-parenting Eleven with Hopper (was I his girlfriend? His wife? I don't know!) a week ago, and now I feel super maternal when I see the little girl who plays Eleven on tv or in the news. Like, look at my baby go! It's the weirdest thing.

  • @hardlyhannah we haven't found out yet. Seems we will be waiting to confirm until the 20 week ultra sound, but on track for a singleton :)

Lots of scary dreams going on in here it seems. Wish all you ladies luck in that they pass soon, no fun. I think it has a lot to do with all the emotions and hormones fluctuating. I had scary dreams after my daughter was born that something would happen to her, but I think that's just the maternal instinct to protect and worry about them. Hugs.

  • I always felt I’m having a boy (we don’t know yet), all the predictions online say it’s a boy... but last night I dreamed that I had the most peaceful delivery, then put the baby to breastfeed and it was the most beautiful baby girl! It was so heart warming that I woke up crying.
  • Earlier I was having lots of dreams. During the “I’m so tired but for no reason” phase. I had one or two very vivid dreams (or nightmares) and it shook me to the core. No need to go into detail. I woke up thinking that was it. That PGAL brain never goes away.  :(
  • Last night I dreamt I met Dante Basco (a voice actor of kids shows) but he was literally twice my height and I was level with his crotch and I honestly have no idea where that came from.
  • I keep having that craziest sex dreams! Honestly, I hate the vivid dreams and really wish it would stop already! I always wake up in a weird mental state, no matter what the dream was about.
  • I literally have had a crystal clear random dream, every night this week. So weird.
  • @juliebird6 I used to have those when I was pregnant with DS and I was supposed to be on pelvic rest, haha. I was like "Omg, but I am having sex in my dreams!"
  • I had a dream the other night about my teeth falling out. I was brushing my teeth and they just starting crumbling and falling out of my mouth. I wasn't panicked or anything, I just said to myself that I would have to go to the dentist ASAP.

@bracanewbie With my fist, I had VERY vivid dreams of having a boy. Well it turns out (old wives tale) that if you dream of a boy, you'll actually have a girl (which I did).

  • @ashleyandjody that’s actually a really common dream related to stress with changes happening in your life, so it makes sense to have it in pregnancy ;)

  • I had a dream that the ultrasound tech accidentally revealed the sex of the baby (girl) during an appointment. We're team green. I figure there is about a 50% chance out comes true.

  • The sex dreams have begun. I really don't like them. Lol.
  • I had a dream last night that I was on Supernatural and I was playing Sam's girlfriend. In the episode I was in, he worked in a cafeteria and we went to the mall. IDK what any of that means, but it wasn't a terrible dream thank god..
  • Actual question here, even tho it's gonna sound real stupid. Do sex dreams violate my ordered pelvic rest? I realize pelvic rest generally means no p in va-g action, but what about the *TMI Tuesday* increased blood flow and cramping after orgasm? So I guess my real question is: does pelvic rest mean no intercourse or no orgasms or both? I'm too embarrassed to ask my doctor if my freaky sex dream orgasms are going to make my SCH worse.

    What is pelvic rest?

Pelvic rest is a term to describe delaying putting anything into a woman's vagina during her pregnancy in order to prevent medical complications.

This includes abstaining from having sex, limiting any procedures like an obstetrical check for dilation, and possibly restricting any exercises that may strain the pelvic floor.

The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists explains that studies have not proven that refraining from sex actually works to help prevent pregnancy complications or preterm labor and premature birth. However, they still recommend pelvic rest in certain cases.

--according to the google it would seem you are safe. If you really are concerned though, I'm sure your doctor has heard this question before! I would be wondering the same thing if I was on pelvic rest.

  • @calimom2524 thanks for being my own personal Google, lol. I should have mentioned that I had looked it up. I will probably ask my doctor on Thursday, although, even if it is a problem, I can't really do much to control it.  :#

  • @lakesideknitter I realized after I posted that it could have come off super assholey like duh just google it but I was genuinely curious because it's just not something I'd have even thought of. I'm hella jealous of your orgasm dreams though haha

  • @calimom2524 don't worry, I can take a little sass, especially if it's warranted. ;) The ER doc phrased the pelvic rest definition as 'nothing around the vaginal area,' so i think that's what threw me off. Also, I was a senior in college before I found out it's not common to orgasm from dreams. I ain't complaining about it tho (unless it actually does go against the pelvic rest order).  :#

  • @lakesideknitter I had the same question! I haven't had any sexy-time dreams lately, but I'm on a 'no sex' order from the doc due to my SCH and was wondering if that meant no orgasms as well. I planned on calling tomorrow.
  • @hezzer78 please update with your doc's recommendation!

I actually asked my doctor's nurse about this last time and she gave me the strangest look. Because I DEFINITELY do O in my dreams, often, and it freaked me out because I was on pelvic rest. I just stopped asking after she gave me the look. Lol. I was like..."but, but...I'm like, ACTUALLY getting off in my....okay, nevermind."
  • All the sexy dreams here too. And SO is never up for the weekday morning, so i have to wait until after we put DS to bed when I'm so tired. But pregnant sex is still soooo worth it.
  • I use to wonder if it was a real O if it happened in your dreams. But once you wake up with a cramped uterus during pregnancy after your dream, it kinda clears that up lol.

  • @lakesideknitter Nurse called back and said no sex and no orgasms. She seemed a bit flustered and was like "But... you know.... you can do other things... just no orgasms because it contracts the uterus."  :)
  • @hezzer78 thanks for the update! Not sure how I'm going to try to prevent, but at least I know now!
