Windchill is -11 here. Planning to stay in for the most part if possible. Have a lot of work to catch up on, which is super lame. Other than that, happy Saturday!
we just got that bizarro weather that went through the Midwest. When I woke up this morning it was in the 50’s. Now, two and a half hours later, it is 31.
@LaceyBee522 we're getting the same in the northeast! Heat wave of 40s-50s and raining. Going to change back to the usual 10-20s and all freeze by tonight. I plan on staying inside most of the weekend!!
-27, feels like -43 this morning! Not leaving this house until it’s time for our A/S Monday morning... it’s supposed to warm up mid week so everything else can wait til then!
ETA: I really wish I could have talked DH into a trip to AZ this winter (IL’s go for the winter, BIL lives there year round) but it’s so hard because he does snow removal in the winter which is so unpredictable, and has trust issues with the people he’s asked to run his business while we’ve left in the past. It’s a good income for the winter months but boo.
That was us yesterday. The AM was 50 degrees. Within one hour it dropped to 30 and kept falling. Sooo much flooding cause of all the rain. Today, woke up to 5 inches of snow.
Which brings me to today's random. DH had to work today. And was not going to ask him to shovel before he left cause he went to work at 7 am yesterday and didn't get home till 2am. So I just went out. Just for a path for the mailman, not a complete snow removal. And I see my 80some yr old neighbor.. says he's heading in for a break to warm up. So my 5month pregnant self now feels I need to keep going down his sidewalk also. Sorry sir, wasn't going to remove all the snow! atleast i got alittle exercise today, ha!

Started my water challenge this morning. Halfway through a 30 oz tumbler.
DH is picking up our kittens from the vet. They were finally big enough to get neutered. Good riddance I say. They were getting naughtier. Hopefully they'll mellow out a bit.
I need to do cleaning and grocery shopping this weekend but it's stinking cold here too. I need to make a meal plan and list anyway.
@lisa2589 where are you from again? Brrr!!!! It’s all stupid cold but that ridiculous. Haha

@sabby2 my 8 month kitty got neutered Monday and he’s doing great. The first night we were only supposed to give him a small amount of food in case he got sick... the next morning I found a chewed up ziplock bag on the kitchen floor of 2 sugar cookies he decided to snack on since what I gave him wasn’t enough Hope your kitties are doing well too!
@lisa2589 thanks. They're around 7 months old. They're fine. Playing and being naughty as ever. My big cat is being naughty and mean and hissing because they smell like vet so I guess we're separating the cats for a few days.
I’m so ready for winter to be over. Warmest winter up here for a long long time. Warmest December in 104 years! I don’t think it’s been below -35 this whole winter. It’s even set to be above 0 next week!!!
I’m really glad because we’re saving leave time for June and can’t plan a sunny vacation this winter.
@sabby2 Good luck with meal planning! I’ve been struggling with that since getting pregnant. I plan stuff and then I don’t want to eat it and hubby has to eat it and then I buy something else. Any suggestions for meal planning??

@marcus7676 10 days before my 2nd birthday my brother was born. For years I have been joking with him that he was the worst birthday present ever - but I think you have me beat there. Hope he feels better soon- super sick kids are no fun.
@marcus7676 Not that it will make you feel any better, but the day my SIL was born, the sewers blew up downtown, so the day she was born is kinda infamous. Anyone who's older than her gives her crap about it

staying in all weekend. It’s beautiful out but too cold. Plus the flu is running rampant my nurse friends say this is the worst flu season they’ve ever seen.
@sabby2 Report back! DD climbed out of her crib today, so we are going to get the toddler bed going. We couldn’t get it set up today though...FX for tonight
Since DH is gone for a bit, I decided this weekend would be diaper free (except outings and naptime) and DS has gone potty by himself multiple times! The only problem is that I bought a pink girls potty for DD, thinking it doesn't matter, but it does. Girls potties have no lip to contain boys, so every time he pees it's all over my floor. Oops. I bought another off Amazon though, didn't want to, but I'm not cleaning my floor every time he goes lol. So, ftms, buy a gender neutral potty if you plan to have multiple kids.
@sabby2 yay for toddler beds!! How did it go?? @May14th2011 that is great DS is using the potty!! I never realized the thing about the lip lol good info even as a STM I hope it keeps going well!

@sabby2 FX for you. We transitioned DD last week. It has been quite an experience finding the balance whether we should be super strict on her getting out of her bed, or just let her be. She doesn't like her door closed now, so we have to get a baby gate. I woke up yesterday to her playing in the living room. I wouldn't mind, but I'm terriefied. She does love to actually SLEEP in her bed. It's just the getting up randomly when she wants to.
@May14th2011 we bought a toilet insert thing better than the potty chair too, not sure what we will do for DS as we got rid of both.
How old old are the little ones transitioning to the toddler beds? DS is 19 months, crawled out of his crib once (so fa) and we have a toddler bed for him. I’m just not sure when he will be ready for it. @sabby2@abteamb
@krashke totally agree about weekend water intake!! I always struggle on the weekends then pay for it Monday with a headache.
We ended up in urgent care with DS last night. Pink eye and strep. For the most part he acted decent, a little fussier than normal and wasn’t eating as good, so I was surprised when doc said strep but then it all made sense when I thought about it. His eye was goopy so that’s the main reason we took him in. I’m glad we did and got him started on meds right away. He is already acting better and his eye looks better today too!
There is SO much junk going around! It’s just gross and I am the hand washing nazi after being out and about. Thankfully we’ve been pretty healthy so far considering all the crap! Hopefully it stays that way!

DD did great. This kid, she waited to get out of her bed until we came in her room to get her.
@PatientlyWaiting10 dd is almost 3 and 1/2 lol. She has never tried climbing out of her crib once and was a great sleeper so we figured why mess with a good thing. But now that we're almost halfway to baby I figured we better get this transition done now. If she would have climbed out etc we definitely would have moved her much sooner.
@patientlywaiting10 ouuuch! I can't even imagine what that would even feel like. I haven't heard if he turned. But my sister said he has lots of hair, so we're close either way!

@PatientlyWaiting10 DD just turned 2 in December. I swear the same day she turned 2 she started climbing out of her crib nonstop. It freaked me out and we went to get her one of those toddler rails at target. She'll be in her day bed (crib) until this baby comes. Then we will buy her a regular toddler bed.
