Thanks @zamora_spin - I called my insurance and they don't cover it but they do cover the estrodial I would have to take with it to support the uterine lining in case it would thin it out. I called our pharmacy and the generic of clomid is only $9 so I hope I can take that one. The brand name is $65. I hated the oral progesterone I took last year - Hot mess and sick so I won't take that ever again luckily I don't need to. I'll go into it as a "see what happens optimistic attitude" They said they only recommend going this route 3-4 months which is all we have money for anyways.
@vlagrl29 Yes, the pills themselves are cheap. Mine were something like $30 and of course not covered. I did my last cycle unmonitored but this cycle am going in CD11 for monitoring. The monitoring will be the most expensive thing. I am not on estrodial, is there already a lining concern or is that just your RE's standard recommendation?
@zamora_spin - she said I'd only need 1 u/s and it's $200. No there is no lining concern but there is the known side effect of clomid thinning your uterine lining and to offset that they give you that estrogen to put up your vag for a week I think. She said at the time of u/s they would check my lining.
@pumpkin0913 welcome back, even though I don’t know you yet! Good for you for going around your pediatrician. Hopefully the early intervention will help get your LO on the road to speaking!
@MicahDahn welcome! Like others have said, I would skip the baby shower unless you really had to go for some reason. I had to go to a work baby shower a few weeks after my first loss, and it sucked so much.
@vlagrl29 glad to hear your RE appt went well! I don’t know much about either drug that you mentioned, but it sounds like the clomid won’t be too expensive in the end. Hopefully it will make all the difference and help you get pregnant!!

@MicahDahn My sister-in-law is having a baby shower for her second in a couple weeks and I’m definitely skipping. I feel a little bad about it, but I don’t think I would handle it well once I was here. I think it’s definitely okay to change your mind about going last minute if you need to. Take care of yourself!
@dpjennifer I had no idea coupons existed except I had to work with a lady at the pharmacy for gonal f which is the other drug I take and it’s expensive and she got me a coupon so I could get 3 pens for the price of one and while talking with her she got me coupon on all the other drugs for this process. She said I just have to ask the pharmacist. She said there is one for prenatal vitamin too and I have to ask the store that I pick them up at. I’ve been going through Walgreens and they have saved me a ton of money.
@40momma the speech therapist that did his evaluation recommended the hearing test which he passed with flying colors. I believe he just needs a little shove in the right direction and then he'll be talking our ears off lol

2. Status? 8 dpo 3. Rants/Raves: My rant is that I want to live in my own house again... on top of this nightmare we have been dealing with a housing nightmare since last March. We had to gut our upstairs in August and move out completely to rip apart the rest in November. It’s being basically rebuilt due to major (code, water damage, mold, etc) issues unbeknownst to us. We have spent enough to send a kid to college (a good one) which only adds to the stress of MC and TTC as well as that whole separate stressful rollercoaster. Our justice system is slow and I don’t have tons of faith in it.
Rave - the two month wait to see the RE is down to less than two weeks finally!!
The end of my post cut off! I don’t do “resolutions” but my goals are things that are TTC related that are healthy for me anyway at the very least - good sleep, stress reduction/meditation, cutting waaaay back on wheat/dairy/sugar, taking supplements...
@pumpkin0913 glad there are no hearing issues. My niece was almost 3 before she really spoke she would say basic things like mommy and sis but pretty much nothing else. Once she started talking at 3 she basically was using full sentences and had fairly large vocabulary it’s as if she just didn’t want to talk
Mack2342 Awesome! Thanks for the heads up. If/When I ever get on Clomid and trigger shots and whatnot, I will definitely ask the pharmacist.

I am so thankful for all of you and I realized that you are all 100% correct. I don't think I am ready for a baby shower. In my mind I thought I was going to be okay, then yesterday at the end of the day a co-worker announced she was pregnant (same due date as I was). I lost it. I didn't even make it to my car before breaking down. So for now I think I will avoid baby related things for a few days.
@cassafrass15 Google is the best and the worst at the same time. I have a love/hate relationship with it. It is so hard not to be tempted to Google something. However, hiking sounds wonderful and like it would be a much better time than googling.
@lino442 and @acciocoffee I cut out Diet Coke for a while. It was so hard! I am not a coffee person, but I am addicted to caffeine in the morning. I am trying to slowly kick that habit again.
@coco2787 I will hit the one month mark on the 15. I am already looking for ways to avoid that day. Pain is still so fresh. Sending hugs & prayers your direction!
@dpjennifer I finally got the last of my Christmas decorations down yesterday. It is sad to see the season over, but nice to have that chore out of the way!
@ccvslp sorry about the house stuff, that sounds like a nightmare. @MicahDahn give yourself the time you need to grieve. It's normal to think you're fine one moment and then be caught off guard the next. I think it's the right call to skip the baby shower.

@ccvslp Welcome. I’m so sorry for your loss and all of your house troubles on top of it.
@MicahDahn I’m sorry about what happened at work, but I’m glad that you’re doing what’s best for you right now.
@pumpkin0913 For my son it’s not that he doesn’t speak. He speaks non stop in full sentences and with a large vocabulary. The problem is that his pronunciation is way off so it’s hard for strangers to understand him. I can most of the time. Glad your son’s hearing test came out okay!
So I had my saline infusion ultrasound yesterday afternoon, and overall it went really well. My RE didn’t find any potential structural issues with my uterus, which is great news. She took a look at my ovaries too, and said I have a great number of eggs, but she did note that she didn’t see any single egg that seems to be more mature than the rest to indicate that it would be the one to ovulate this month. At CD 10, she would have expected to see one dominant egg forming, but when I mentioned that in the last two cycles that I was tracking in between my first and second losses I had ovulated much later, she said that makes sense with what she saw. She also discussed all the bloodwork results with me from the tests we had done before the new year, and everything had come back normal with no issues other than my thyroid antibodies and very low vitamin d.
But the best part of the appt was that she gave us the green light to start trying again!! Her plan for me, since we still don’t know if it was my thyroid or other hormonal imbalances causing my miscarriages, is for me to try naturally for 2 cycles, and if I’m not pregnant yet, then at that point she would give me letrozole to try and help things along. I’m just relieved to be able to start trying again and happy to have a plan.
pumpkinpancake Yay for your saline ultrasound going well! Also, I'm super glad that you have a plan. For some reason, that seems to help TTCAL (and especially RPL) emotions greatly!

Thanks all. I know, it’s amazing how just having a plan of some sort makes me feel so much better! And so happy to be able to try this cycle without having missed a whole extra month!
Had a follow-up with my RE today. She was really happy with how our IVF cycle went and I have a FET scheduled for my next cycle! I have to call on CD 1 and I will be on estrogen pills from CD 2 until mid-cycle when ovulation would normally occur and then add in progesterone suppositories to mimic what happens after ovulation. Five days later we'll transfer a single embryo. So, depending on when AF gets here, I'm looking at a transfer the first week of February!!! Wohoo!!!

So I was really stressing yesterday when I googled clomid and saw it was a class X drug which means it can cause birth defects if taken while pregnant and it seems a lot of people take it and don't know they are pregnant. Seemed there were mixed outcomes of it not hurting the baby to a miscarriage and loosing a tube. So because of my late implantation since it's happened twice now and I'm talking about 3 weeks after O - I decided it was better for a peace of mind to bench ourselves for Feb and try clomid in March knowing there's nothing in my uterus. We've already started BD on my FW this week.
I'm glad your appointment went well @pumpkinpancake and that you have a plan in place.
@ccvslp thank you for that. I didn't understand why he just brushed me off instead of taking a second to write up an eval order. Oh well, we're on the right track now.
@tosh24 so exciting! Fx your cycle gets here soon.
@vlagrl29 that would cause me some stress as well. Good idea benching yourselves for a month just to be safe.
It's like who the heck benches themselves @pumpkin0913 - only me ha!!
Im tired of doctors not believing I have late implantation and that it doesn't take that long to implant. Then how do you explain both my pregnancies? I know I'm not the only one that has that.
@MicahDahn I hope you're recovering from the work announcement okay... I HATE what loss has done to the dynamic at work. I've been open about my MC which is great on the one hand but it's leading to me feeling really isolated lately... I KNOW two coworkers are trying, suspect about three more, and feel like people avoid me because they know I'm "having a hard time"... like people I've been pretty close to pull away because they just don't know what to do with it. It's so hurtful. I realize some of it is probably trying to protect my feelings but I need people around me through all of this, too, and feeling like some contagious freak doesn't help. I look around staff meetings and dread what you went through.... half for the way I'm going to feel and half for the fact that people will be watching how I react and on eggshells around me. You can't win.
I also have a friend of a friend with my exact due date. Had to unfriend her on FB completely... the unfollow button wasn't even going to keep me from it once I knew and it was putting me in a really dark place.

It worried me at first but realistically, I think I'm fairly safe. And I'm only there for 4 days so I'll lather in deet for those few days 4. GTKY: New Years Resolutions - Love 'em? Hate em'? @ccvslp - my next door neighbour has a due date within a week of where I would have been with my 2nd loss. IT's pretty hard to watch but at the same time, she's having a tough go of it herself. She's on bedrest as her cervix is considered 'weak' and she's only 29 weeks right now
Question to the ladies taking Ubiquinol @zamora_spin, @Mack2342 ,there may have been a few more. I started taking it a week ago, normally I have a very low resting heart rate, around 58-62bpm. Last night I couldn't fall asleep and my mind was racing so I took my pulse and it showed 96-102bpm. I'm back down to 75bpm this morning but I decided to only take 200mg of Ubiquinol rather than the 400mg I've been taking. Has anyone else experienced a fluctuation like that? I've read it can cause your heart rate to drop but I'm kinda backwards.
@vlagrl29 I think you should do whatever you feel comfortable with and I am glad you know your body and yourself to know what that is. I personally feel comfortable taking clomid back to back, but I have always been able to turn a test by 11 dpo, and I know I'm not one of those women who randomly bleeds while ku, but if I had concerns like yours I would probably be cautious too.
@40momma So I have read that CoQ10 can give you extra energy and I think faster heart rate would correspond with that. What time are you taking it? My suggestion would be to drop the dose for a week or two and take it in the morning if you aren't already. Then maybe when your body gets used to it you can up it again a bit. The only time I had an appreciable side effect I couldn't sleep and I realized I had taken like 300 mg in the afternoon because I had forgotten to take it in the morning.
@zamora_spin yeah I'm taking it first thing in the morning and I did do my first workout yesterday since starting it but my workout was over by 6pm and I checked my pulse at midnight. I'll definitely decrease the dose for now and see how it goes
@zamora_spin - I wish I turned a test that early!! Sure would make things a lot easier. And who know with clomid maybe I would implant a lot earlier. For now I think it's best just to think of things one step at a time. Dh was telling me last night to just call the doctor back again and went off on a tangent how I don't need to how about just listening to me and my gut feeling. Honestly though I don't want this process going on for another year and spreading it out it would maybe.
Guys.... I have to vent. I called and asked what my lining (at 7dpo) measured during my ultrasound Tuesday where they found the little hemorrhagic cyst on my ovary (in addition to my pcos ones staring me in the face, hey guys). 3mm. THREEEE. ?!?!?! It should be 8-10 from what I can see.
so to recap; since miscarrying: PCOS - lean type with wonky normalish labs except high normal testosterone; of course I’m not “typical.” Possible MTHFR. Waiting on more labs. Extra cyst. Thin lining.
I’m searching all over and can’t find a profile like mine. I do find all kinds of stuff about ovulation induction drugs thinning lining and OB thinks I just need letrozole to “move up” ovulation. Um....... lord. I’m hopeful and pessimistic and cautious and excited and terrified of our RE consult the 23rd. I had a little meltdown tonight on DH. He tries to always be optimistic and sometimes I just want to shake him to really look what we’re facing in the eye. We’ve just spewed enough money to send a kid to college on the House, not by choice, and now we’re at the base of this mountain. I don’t know where it’s going to come from and I’m having a night where i don’t feel a lot of fight in me. I never did like rollercoasters.
@ccvslp I always think when it comes to reproduction issues it's always best to see a specialist. Were you taking any fertility medication? I've never searched about thin lining but I think there are natural things you can take to thicken it up. Drink pomegranate juice maybe? I've heard that before.
From what I've heard femara doesn't thin lining. Clomid could but my re said they would have me insert some sort of estrogen to support it. Then after you ovulate it thickens. Lining does build back every month.
@ccvslp A corpus luteum cyst is described as a hemorrhagic cyst on ultrasounds. If I have any ultrasounds after ovulation they always note a "hemorrhagic cyst" which is actually the corpus luteum formed after the follicle ovulates an egg. Even at my baseline ultrasounds on CD 3 the corupus luteum from the previous cycle's ovulation is sometimes still hanging around. On all of my 1st trimester OB ultrasounds they have also noted a "hemorrhagic cyst" which again, is the corpus luteum. You mention that your ultrasound was at 7 DPO so the corpus luteum cyst is supposed to be there so no need to worry about it. The thin lining is an issue you want to bring up with your doctor, but it doesn't sound like you need to worry about the hemorrhagic cyst. Also, I echo what @vlagrl29 said - if you have diagnosed PCOS and other potential issues affecting your fertility, please consider seeing an actual fertility specialist (Reproductive Endocrinologist). An OB is in the business of helping people deliver healthy babies, not getting people pregnant, and they often do not diagnose and treat fertility problems properly. You really want to see an RE.

Thanks @tosh24. I have two consults set up this month with two different REs. It was close to a two month wait to get in so I set up two consults already in the event that I feel more strongly about working with one than the other.
The corpus luteum thing is totally what it stems from regarding the cyst, I think you’re right. This one is a bit enlarged and has been hanging out and causing me off and on pain for a couple of months. I’m trying not to worry about it too much, the PCOS plus really wimpy lining thing is whats weighing on me most. I get MTHFR and progesterone results soon as well as DHEA-S and thyroid antibodies to dig into what may be underlying and triggering things. Knowledge is a double edged sword... it gives you more to work with and go on and more to worry about.
@ccvslp I'm glad you have appts scheduled with RE's and I think it's smart to meet with two and determine who you prefer. I have asked my RE if it's possible a thin lining could have caused my losses and she insists that no, if it's enough to implant it is sufficient (my periods are getting lighter so I asked her if that could be the problem). Of course get your own dr's opinion on that as different RE's may have different perspectives.
Re: TTCAL Week of 1/8
@MicahDahn welcome!

Hi there, I’m new. TTC since 8/2017; MMC/BO at 8 was. I just added an intro post of its own to introduce myself!
2. Status? 8 dpo
Rave - the two month wait to see the RE is down to less than two weeks finally!!
ccvslp Sorry for the housing drama! That sounds like a nightmare.

@cassafrass15 Google is the best and the worst at the same time. I have a love/hate relationship with it. It is so hard not to be tempted to Google something. However, hiking sounds wonderful and like it would be a much better time than googling.
@lin0442 I hope your DH had a wonderful birthday!

@MicahDahn give yourself the time you need to grieve. It's normal to think you're fine one moment and then be caught off guard the next. I think it's the right call to skip the baby shower.

@pumpkinpancake HOORAY for a plan! I cannot WAIT for a plan!! It doesn’t immediately fix everything, no, but I imagine it’s a huge weight lifted and feels so good.

Im tired of doctors not believing I have late implantation and that it doesn't take that long to implant. Then how do you explain both my pregnancies? I know I'm not the only one that has that.
I also have a friend of a friend with my exact due date. Had to unfriend her on FB completely... the unfollow button wasn't even going to keep me from it once I knew and it was putting me in a really dark place.
2. Status? TWW and although this was our first month back off the bench, the times we bd during our window of opportunity, we got 'cold feet' and pulled out, so back to the drawing board
3. Rants/Raves: I'm off to Cabo on Sunday!! I won a trip through work and I am so darn excited! It's 'technically' a work trip but really it's Cabo so I think the 'work' part will be pretty minimal! I did some googling about Zika and I think the chances are pretty slim in the Baja Peninsula, I know mainland Mexico is more but Cabo is pretty minimal. It worried me at first but realistically, I think I'm fairly safe. And I'm only there for 4 days so I'll lather in deet for those few days
4. GTKY: New Years Resolutions - Love 'em? Hate em'? Never stick to them? If you don't do resolutions, do you have any goals for yourself this year or new "rules" you're going to try to incorporate into your life instead? I don't make resolutions as I always break them anyway, but I did start up at Spin class last night, my butt is killing me though!!
I've read it can cause your heart rate to drop but I'm kinda backwards.
so to recap; since miscarrying: PCOS - lean type with wonky normalish labs except high normal testosterone; of course I’m not “typical.” Possible MTHFR.
From what I've heard femara doesn't thin lining. Clomid could but my re said they would have me insert some sort of estrogen to support it. Then after you ovulate it thickens. Lining does build back every month.
