Stupid mommy award! Dd asked me to do handstands with her last night and evidently my balance is officially “off”! Used it as an excuse to rest with my knee up and ice it while dh gave the kids baths and put them to bed!!
When we bought our new house last April, my husband bought two small houseplants for decor. As they were both cacti, I figured even I could keep them alive. Today I acknowledged that both were dead beyond saving.
Had this happened in my 20s, I would have viewed it as proof positive that I was incapable of keeping any living thing alive and should never have children. At this point, though, I see it instead as: I am so consumed by keeping these three little people alive that I can’t even handle watering a couple cacti twice a month. I guess no pets for us any time soon!

Ooh I have another! My 2,5 year old just cussed for the first time and I totally had to walk away so I could laugh!! I honestly have no idea where this come from but he was kicking snow on the way to the car and I said, “hurry up, quit kicking snow” and he looks at me says, “that’s not snow, it’s horse sh*t!”
@lindsye I have a “black thumb”! My dads gf is a landscaper by trade and laughs at my ability to kill “easy” plants! She’s helping me design a “kill proof” garden! It’s not going well!
My confession is that I had Chinese food for lunch and pizza for dinner. I really hope these prenatal vitamins work because baby girl didn’t get much nutrients today.
@riversdoctor my dd is 2.5 with a minor speech delay but has no problem dropping the f bomb and sh*$. They were her first 50 words. Me and other special needs mamas that I meet up with all say we are just happy that they are using the words appropriately.
Lol @riversdoctor, you are more adventurous than me. I don't do handstands even when not pregnant.
I think it is just as well you can't do them anymore, because inversion activity of any kind is off the plate in third tri anyway. You can just blame your knee .
Late lame confession. I counted the amount of work days left until my due date and estimated the remaining amount of train rides in/out of the city as well. While it definitely is less its still quite a large amount. I love a good countdown and won't be sad to not have to take the train for a few months.
@frenchiekinplusone yes they are. My monthly pass is $320 but does include the subway too. I do the math before I order each month to ensure I’ll ride enough to make it worth it. I probably won’t order a pass in March because I’m hoping they’ll allow me to wfh more than the one day I already do. I’m sure to be full on waddling based on my level of comfort these days so maybe they’ll feel bad for me haha
