@hardlyhannah I’m trying to give you a pass on this since you saw how many of our BMB struggled with BF and sent me lactation cookies. I’ll chalk this UO to a bad day. Congrats, lady.
I think @princesslockness and @livinthesunnylife are saying the same thing differently. My two cents are that some "unpopular opinions" are unpopular because they are clearly wrong (like not liking mayo @Krysta6) but inoffensive whereas other "unpopular opinions" are "unpopular" because they are condescending and inflammatory and identify their espousers as aholes (like being a racist or shaming someone for how they feed their child).
"Fed is best" literally means that it is better to ensure your baby gets adequate nutrition versus denying your baby adequate nutrition due to an inflexible obsession with breast feeding. "Nope, starving your child is preferable to formula feeding" is certainly an unpopular opinion, because it is psychotic. And since its laughable for any of us to think we can say with any certainty how we will end up feeding the babies we are currently growing, I reeeeally hope that no one here who thinks starving > formula feeding has any trouble breastfeeding.

@spottedginger good to see you again! Thank you! I hope DS is thriving. Are you bumping for #2 too?
I’ll change my stance ladies. BF is best for me. I struggled hard too, I was only ever a just enougher and barely made it as far as I did. Pumping sucks and I stopped at 12mo even though DS didn’t show signs of interest in weaning. I hated that I couldn’t do more but not because of others expectations, it’s just what I wanted.

Yes to the snapchat thing - I think I am too old which is not really true, I am 33. I facebook and that's it....snapchat, instagram, etc it's just too much for me to take haha
It would appear that my UO is that I use snapchat all the time! I use it to send pics to my friends across the country and my bf and I keep each other entertained all day with snaps.
I don’t really like the phrase “Fed is Best” simply because it’s a bizarre thing to say. Feeding your child is the bare minimum of parenting. I get what it’s trying to say, I just think it’s better to say what you really mean, which is that breastfeeding is great, but doesn’t always work for a variety of reason, which is why formula is a great innovation. I mean, yeah, that’s a lot longer, but it makes more sense. I think the most important thing is that women are supported. If they want to breastfeed, they should be given all the information, help and support they need. If they need or prefer to formula feed, they should be supported. Parenting is hard no matter how you do it.
@Krysta6 You are my internet soul mate. I eat salad without dressing. Mayo, mustard, and ranch are the devil. Summer BBQ parties make me so sad because a lot of time it's burgers and pasta salad and nothing else. I usually bring fruit and veggies to share, because otherwise I have no side dishes. I'll use a little of Asian sauces, BBQ sauce, and I like pasta sauces. Otherwise condiments are nasty!

@Krysta6@pourmeamocktail Y'all are blowing my mind. I basically only eat non-condiment foods because they are socially acceptable "spoons" with which to eat condiments.

@legallykate My niece says she loves salmon, but I saw her eat it once, and she had more volume of ketchup per bite than salmon. Yes, ketchup. So we can still be friends if you promise not to do that, k?
Oh, and I missed two: salsa and guacamole are also exceptions for me. Hooray for them! But death to sour cream...

I do promise not to do that! But I have eaten salmon with a self-made mixture of soy sauce and mayonnaise.

We can't be friends. Sour Cream is wonderful and goes into soo many dishes at my house. Cookies, soups, mac&cheese, Alfredo sauce, anything mexican I can make . . . I just can't take you hating SC.

If we're going the food route... Bacon is just alright. I will never optionally choose it as a breakfast side dish. And something covered or wrapped in bacon is just disgusting to me.

My quesadilla is on its way from my favorite Mexican place and I'm so looking forward to dipping it in sour cream.

@princesslockness and @legallykate and I work in a bar/grill, so I'm always having to dish out all these things I find so gross. Not looking forward to potential nausea/aversions in the next month or two. Nothing *quite* like trying to serve food to people when it makes you want to vomit.

Just for anyone who is feeling a little crappy about how bf did or didn’t go... I gave myself or exacerbated PPA/ PPD trying to bf. This article is by the author of Expecing Better and made me feel a better.
