There are popular opinions, y'all! Snow is the absolute worst. Winter can take a long walk off a short pier.
MW brought home a basil plant (because it was cheaper than the packaged basil) and the smell reminded me of my garden and the swelling desire for summertime was bordering on painful. What I wouldn't give to set up my deck and sit in the sun with my feet soaking in the kiddie pool with a cold beer in hand...
I don’t like jewelry on babies/toddlers, especially earrings (not referring to dress up/plastic stuff).

@eleven_ I too do not like the Gilmore Girls and I love snow. While fall is my favorite season, I love winter and prefer the cold to summer any day.
@nasah15, I liked it, it wasn't my favorite star wars movie by any means, but I feel more positive than negative about it. I an not necessarily looking forward to the next movie though with certain characters not being there anymore.
*Side note, my cats are named Indiana Jones (Indy for short) and Han Solo (Han). We are probably stealing my parents barn cat who we brought in and DH won't let me name him Dr. Richard Kimble and it makes me sad.
My UO and to add to @wishiwaspreggo I hate basil and think it smells nasty. And I am probably one of the least picky eaters around.
@eleven_@holly321 What??! Gilmore Girls is the best show ever! How can you not love it? @zamora_spin I really liked the new Netflix episodes of Gilmore Girls. I totally agree about Whole 30. I get sad seeing how many people start it up this time of year because I personally feel like it's a really hard lifestyle change to make and it's not a good way to start making healthy changes (for a lot of people, at least). @nasah15 I don't like Star Wars at all!
Mine is boring. I got a gel manicure for the first time over my Christmas break and I hated it. It looked nice but I thought it was a waste of time sitting in the salon for such a long time to get it done. Plus, I have a major picking habit so I couldn't help but start picking it off a few days after I had gotten it. I don't get why so many people get their nails done on a regular basis. I guess I just prefer mine natural.
I'm pretty sure I've talked about this before because it's my deep dark secret/obsession. I'm about to sound like an infomercial but If you ever just feel like getting a manicure but don't want to spend the money on it, impress nails are God's gift to the frugal lazy girl. They are press on nails that you literally just peal off the back and press it on your nail. You don't have to file them either. I carry the box of spairs in my purse just in case... but they never fall off. They have all sorts. I love the classic french manicure but they have super cute styles and the best part is that they 5$ you can browse the styles on their website but literally every grocery store has them. I have huge collection of them that I hide from DH. I swear I don't work for them but now that I'm thinking about it I should really contact them and see if they are hiring lol I really love them.
Pic in spoiler of the French from our engagement photos, I really should attach a picture of my collection. It's scary.
@galactickates How have I never heard of those? I'm totally making a trip to the store soon to look for them. Thanks for the tip! Your nails in the pic look great. I would have thought they were professionally done.
@offtoneverland thanks! I even used them in my wedding! you've probably never heard of them because who buys press ons???? No one! But after got I engaged I wanted my hands to look nice and didn't want to to do the whole jam berry thing and I bite my nails when I'm stressed so I don't trust polish. I browsed the nail section to see if I could some how do a manicure myself. I was trying to save money with planning a wedding and sometimes I just want fake nails off NOW! I was also scared of the whole glue thing.... I don't know how to do that ish. When I found these it was like Indiana Jones finding the Holy Grail. I'm pretty sure light started shining down on them and I'm am almost positive I saw them twinkle lol if you try them you HAVE TO come back and tell me how you liked them. I can pm you master tip.
ETA my crazy collection although my picture isn't showing on mobile so idk if it worked.
@offtoneverland@pebbledam I’ve started just getting my nails buffed when I get a manicure. Manicurists never seem to polish the whole nail and I can’t stand how they look when they grow out.
@galactickates I think of middle school when i see these. I never would have thought to use them as an adult. How well do they stick? Do you reuse them? I’m tempted to grab some French tip ones for special occasions because I rarely remember to paint mine.
DD1: June '16 DD2: March ‘19 :::: Married since 2011 :::: USN Wife ::::
@meggyme I easily get 5 days out of them! But I'm sure they would last longer. 4 to 5 days is usually my limit for how long I like any kind of fake nail though. You don't reuse them per say but they come in a box of 30 or something. As for coming off, I get lazy putting them on, so once in awhile I'll have a loose one. That's why I carry the box in my purse. They don't just fall off, you have to peal even those off. I would suggest using nail polish remover though.
@galactickates, me too, please? i never wear any kind of fake nail, but it'd be nice to just press and go for DH's work events instead of doing polish or sneaking out to get a mani.
@nasah15 - YES. not this star wars, but the last one, i actually slept through the entire movie. that one was my favorite. couldn't tell you what happened....

I 100% agree. I own about a dozen pair (FFFC?). Past weeks have revealed many on the board don’t care for LLR.
ETA: When I broke my foot last year in three places, I have to say that leggings worked best with my cast/job at the time. My bum was always fully covered, though.
@galactickates me three please! I love to do my nails but have been lazy af lately. Would love to try them out and see how they go so pro tips would be welcome!

@galactickates - is there a specific brand of press-on nails you use? Your nails in the pic are beautiful! I love having my nails done but they grow super fast and I hate that skanky flaked-off look they get after a couple days and then I worry about screwing up my nail bed by repeatedly using nail polish and nail polish remover. I would love some tips from you, too.
My UO is that lularoe leggings are totally inappropriate office wear.
Yes!!! Only way it is okay is if you are basically wearing them like tights so with a dress or something like a long tunic.. they are NOT pants!! I have a pair of dress pants that are tight fitting and stretch like leggings but are definitely dress pants.. If I ever doubt my tunic MAY be even slightly too short, I'll wear those. much more appropriate.
@catlady2015 - I'm just going to put it in a spoiler because I my bumpies and anyone who doesn't care can just skip over the nail talk. Plus it's really not that big of a deal. Once you read it you're going to be like duh..
Impress nail tips!
First off the brand has to be Impress I don't use any other kind because they use glue. You need the glueless ones, I put a picture if the boxes in a previous post. You literally just peal off the back, stick it on your nail and press. They sell them literally everywhere. I have found them at Target, Walmart, Fred Meyer, they also sell them on amazon and their website.
What I wish I would have known... #1 - Because I was lazy and didn't read the box when I first started using them I didn't realize they had square and rounded versions. I personally like square but I bought a round version because I thought they were cute and tried to cut and file them. You don't have to do that, don't be like me and actually buy the style you like, that's the point of these. You don't need to do any trimming, they should just fit.
#2 - Speaking of fit, the first couple times I did this I spent a lot of time laying the nails out in the order I was applying them, but I would spend so much time forgetting what nail I set aside for each finger and rearranging that it would take me forever and I'd get super frustrated. Again don't be like me.... try a few different sizes pick the one that fits your finger the best, peal the back and stick it on right then and there. They come in a pack of 30 so you're not going to run out of the sizes you need. They'll feel the most comfortable if you do it this way.
Applying them - do your thumbs last! That's the most important. I don't follow the directions on the box because I'm lazy but I've found if you do, they honestly stay better. They include a nail buffer/file you're supposed to use on the top of your nail and an alcohol wipe. Make sure you also press hard.
My fingers hurt the first time I used them but I think it's because I was using sizes that we're too small, if that happens to you, don't worry it fades. Or just rip it off and put the right size on.
Taking off - I personally have a nail polish remover tub that you just stick your nail in, that has a sponge. They are like 1 or 2 bucks at the store. They take the nail right off. I've also ripped them off myself but I damaged my nails <- don't be like me
Thanks @galactickates!!! Awesome advice I'm excited to try them now! And I'll get a polish remover tub - that sounds very helpful. I'm really, really lazy so the more shortcuts for me the better.
@nasah15 I didn’t think the new one was good either...
@offtoneverland I love pedicures, but i think manicures are such a waste of money. They chip too easy.
@jengibre_zorro I don’t get the LLR hype. I have some leggings, which are soft, but fade. The material they makes their shirts out of pills way too quickly for a $35 shirt. And their dresses are super pricey.
@galactickates thanks for the tips! I added a few to my amazon list for the next time I have a wedding to attend! @cdepperschmidt I’m with you, I will pay for a pedi time and time again. A manicure, no. They get ruined in a day.

@galactickates omg why have I never used these before! I used to get my nails done every week because I have very small weak nails and they would break or come off. The glue ones didn’t last 24 hours. And since trying to cut out nasty chemicals, using the glue (which totally ruined my own nails even more) or sitting for 1.5 hours to have my nails done with acrylic and gel (I need a combo of both to get them to last a week) with all the fumes really seemed counter productive so I stopped about 1.5 years ago and hate my nails (I had them done last year for my wedding but that was it since...) I missed this post, just saw @jrm_14 ‘s post and tracked the source back here - and ordered some off amazon already. Got to love prime...
