Haha, I refuse to use them because I don't want another God damned app on my phone.
AFM: I don't have a "baby" inside of me. It's barely even a fetus. I'm hoping that all goes well, and it will turn into a baby, but at this point calling it that sounds ridiculous to me. I don't have much of a problem with mothers-to-be calling their embryos/fetuses a "baby" but I burst out with a laugh of indignation when my ultrasound tech pointed out my "baby." I don't think I'll think of it as a baby until the cord is cut, and it's a separate entity from me, but at least until 20 weeks or so when it's actually a viable person.

My UO: I don't get the hype on making emergency kits for natural disasters. We had a 4.4 earthquake in the bay last night and my local mom group is up in a tizzy about having our kits made and ready. I feel like even if I have a bin with water and documents in it that's not going to do much for me in the event of a giant earthquake.
We have Uber'd and Lyft'd so much this year it's crazy. That's all we did in Vegas and Boston! I also used Lyft to get to the airport at like 4 a.m. but that was slightly sketchy.
My UO is that I think caffeine is fine in pregnancy as long as you don't overdo it. Like, who can live without coffee? I actually texted my boss to get me coffee today. He told me, "Anything for you, as long as you're fragile." Lmao. I knew him before I worked for him so I wasn't offended in the least. It was funny.
@7425cait totally agree on the ear piercing. Cringe worthy.
@livinthesunnylife cantelope?! But whyyy Definitely a great UO. All those leftover edible arrangements I've ever seen was just a carcass with nothing left but the cantelope. Also, summer overripe cantelope smells like a dirty diaper imo
@livinthesunnylife - I cantaloupe! Whenever we go to a restaurant and DS gets his fruit cup I steal his melon. No shame.
@Firemanswife11 yes to the coffee! I drink 1-2 cups a day normally and haven't cut down at all.
@calimom2524 we live in an area prone to tornadoes and I think the most we've done to prepare is figure out which part of the basement we'll hunker down in... And I think there's a flashlight down there somewhere...
You all should know that I will now worry constantly about each and every one of you Uber riders.
@7425cait ugh, the ear piercing! Why! Why is that necessary! I know several people who have recently pierced their baby's ears. Just no.
@Firemanswife11 Yes, same. Like as long as you aren't downing Monster all day, you should be fine.
AFM, I hate Snapchat and think it's dumb. I can't stand seeing selfies that were taken using Snapchat filters and I definitely can't stand when people post videos of themselves face-swapping or pretending to be a dog. Just stop.
Lol yes! Keep in mind I'm a pale ass Irish girl who hates hot weather. The beach is boring to me. The thought of sitting in one spot all day in the sun...yuck. But now that I live near a lot of beaches and Cape Cod, I may have to start trying to come around....someday...
@juliebird6 I hate Snapchat too! I tried to get into it but just can't. It's dumb to me. My younger sister likes it and I think it's fun to look through the filters but as an actual app to keep up with, no.
praise be, that is totally the truth @juliebird6 I think it's a young thing but I just don't get snap chat either. Selfie obsessed little kids that love that.
@ecwk What about beach activities? Like walking on the beach? (says person living on the face of the sun with no beach)
@ecwk Dang. If I could roast in the sun all my life, I'd be like one of those saggy, wrinkly, leathery old ladies. I love, love, love the beach. On the other hand, I LOATHE cold weather and snow. We went to Colorado once, to ski, and besides breaking my tailbone, it was the worst trip ever. So many layers, and the snow - gag! Just awful. Never again. Lol.
@livinthesunnylife ah yes, I don't mind a walk on the beach when it's not too hot/humid out. I do like to take my dog there at the end of summer/start of autumn and I let her off leash and play fetch.
I have snapchhat and I love it, I use it to share snaps of DS with my mom friends and they share snaps of their kids. I also like to do horrifying face swaps and give people nightmares.
I understand liking the beach way more than I understand liking cold weather. What person in their right mind wants to bundle up and ski down a steep ass hill or go build a snowman? Hard pass.
I really don't like it when people put cantelope (why does it keep telling me that spelling is wrong?) and honey dew in the same sentence like they are interchangeable. They are completely different foods people.
It just started @juliebird6 ! She's the dermatologist that has all those amazing youtube videos. It was on last night, but I missed it. Must watch popping! @lolog531 Watermelon is disgusting. But so is honey dew. And pizza with pineapple is delicious!
I'm seriously considering begging DH to stop at the store now for cantaloupe and honey dew because of all the talk... nom nom nom
I'm kinda meh about the beach in summer - I much prefer it during the off-season when there aren't a ton of people and the sand doesn't cook my feet off. But the little beach towns with cute shops and restaurants - yes please all day every day.
I totally use snap chat to turn DS into a dancing hot dog or whatever and send it to DH. He doesn't get it.
1. I love melons. They're delicious and watery. Honeydew, cantelope, and watermelon
2. Piercing babies ears doesn't bother me, if it bothers you just don't pierce your baby's ears. No need to judge others who do. Do what you want and let the others roll off.
Cantalope and honeydew are delicious! Watermelon is of the devil.
@ecwk I'm with you. I hate the beach. I guess not really the beach - I hate the ocean. I refuse to walk or swim in it - I've had far too many mishaps in the water.
I also don't use snapchat - but I think it's because every single one of my students do, and that immediately turns me off to it. Maybe if I wasn't a teacher I would be on it...?
My UO is that I despise apples. Pretty lame, but everyone I tell that to seems genuinely surprised that someone on the planet doesn't eat apples...
I loooooove Dr. Pimple Popper, how did I not know she had a show starting?!? I will have to watch it covertly somehow, DH is horrified when he catches me watching her Youtube videos.
My UO is that I love the Kardashians and am even more obsessed now that so many of them are pregnant, it now combines two of my interests.

I think I used this one on my last bmb, but I don't like when parents pierce their infants ears.
