Re: GTKY: How pregnant are you?

  • @Chawk17 A float is basically a giant tub of body temperature water with 800+ lbs of epson salt. It allows you to float on top of the water and be completely relaxed.

It is hard to completely turn your mind off and just relax.  After I float, I feel amazing. The baby goes nuts in the water, too! It did take me a long time to try it (lots of research and finding a reputable place), but it’s worth checking out!
Thanks..I don't like being touched so massages are a no go. I'm going to look into this.

If you're in need of a good way to relax and aren't big on massages, you should definitely give it a try. I just recommend getting a one-time pass as it's not for everyone.
  • Just booked myself a massage for Thursday! Thanks for the idea ladies lol
  • The float pool sounds amazing. Thanks for sharing.

  • I've always wanted to try a float (I used to take Epsom salt baths in the tub all the time after long runs), but I'm afraid I will get claustrophobic and have a panic attack.  How is it being in the small, dark space???

It depends on how claustrophobic you are... The place I went to had a pool noodle you could put in the door to provide some light. You could do the same with a towel too. It is still a pretty tight space though.

The float room I use has a large bathtub type space; it isn’t enclosed.  I am extremely claustrophobic, so there is no way I could handle that.
