As far as the “regulars” Fb group goes, I can’t speak for the other ladies, but I’m still hear. Lurking a lot because things are so busy, but I’m here. IAnd I try to interact, especially with the names I recognize (honestly since the Fb group was made I’ve noticed a lot of names I don’t recognize on here) but sometimes I come on and there’s just nothing to interact with, ya know?

@ShawnnaO Great point. I almost started a BFing thread the other day but didn’t post it because I’m not really an expert - just a STM looking for a better experience. Then I closed my browser, so of course everything I typed disappeared.  :(

I haven't joined the fb groups. I was just busy due to the holidays. But like @ShawnnaO I'm still lurking but not really finding many things to post about.

@missnc77 I'll be on the lookout for that thread. I'm a stm looking for a better bf experience too!

also, I've mostly been lurking cuz life is so hectic these days, but I do hope things will pick up more....

@vflux33 I’m still here! I was at my parents house for the holidays and now my H has been off work so we’ve been doing family stuff. I’m hoping to pick back up now that things have settled down!

@missnc77 same here! I knew nothing about BFing with my first so we didn’t make it very long. Hoping for a better experience this time around!!

A BF thread would be great. I'll be a ftm and want to ebf and i was just planning on winging it with some help from the internet if i needed it. Some tips beforehand would be great.

@heatherdubrow Oh good I’m glad to here you are one of the ppl who aren’t on as much as a temporary holiday thing!

BF tips thread would be great. I expect because of twins it won’t be practical to EBF and will need to pump more and probably earlier than others, plus the whole question of tandem feeding, but I don’t know what I’m doing at all in general and would love to read how ppl handle things with one baby. Perhaps a BF BF (breast feeding bitch fest) thread?

Yay glad you haven't left us @becausescience and @mdfarmchick :)

I hear you guys on the business and stress. I think maybe a lot of us are having some "oh shit I only have x weeks left moments".

Everywhere seems pretty slow this week, really. I know I've been preoccupied with family stuff and dealing with a new GD diagnosis (just in time for the holidays! Yaaay :/ ). Also my baby has recently learned how to shove, which has been surprisingly distracting. Why, child. Why.

I have been in and out lately. We have had Christmas 4 times in the last 2 weeks and Christmas programs and such. I have no intention of joining the Facebook groups either.

@mdfarmchick did you have a doula last time as well?
I didnt, and I did just fine....but my husband not so much! He gets all freaked out in hospitals etc
Wondering if anyone can list the pros and cons of having a doula....
my main concern is that I'm the go it alone type, and it'll get me nervous having a stranger there telling me what to do and how....

@paigew123 I did have a doula last time. I thought MH would be weirded out by it but he absolutely loved it. She gave him tips on how to help and be supportive and was always just quietly in the background cuing things up for us. She never told me what to do or how to do it—she would give suggestions when I asked. She also would run interference for us with the staff so we didn’t feel pressured into decisions—I ended up being induced because my water broke and she was quick to ask them to give us ten minutes alone in the room to discuss the next step ((like starting pitocin)) and breaking down any big medical terms so I could understand. Also, most doulas will meet with you at least three times before birth so I didn’t feel like she was a stranger at all. She also labored with me at home before we went to the hospital. The doula is there purely to offer you support. It was really important to me to not have an epidural unless necessary because I have bad reactions to pain medication in general and she enabled me to do that. I’m more than happy to answer any questions you may have.

@paigew123 I’m a FTM so never had one before, however I learned that I have to give birth in an OR (regardless of actual interventions used or not used), and that I’m only allowed 1 person in the OR (MH). Didn’t seem worth it to me for that reason even though I was strongly considering it before. Just a FYI if you or others know ahead of time you have a complication requiring an OR birth— the only 1 person in OR rule I think is pretty standard for obvious reasons.

I’m here as well, just slacking on social media in general because of the holidays, Christmas clean up, kids being home and trying to be present, and fiiiinally beginning to work on the nursery and go through DD’s totes to see what we have and what we need!

I also tend to avoid TB whenever my battery is low because it just friggin kills it and my phone hasn’t been near the charger lately, ugh!

Hope everyone had a great holiday, it’s 2018, yahoo!
