Yes, the wine glass is awesome, I might get two. H was trying to decide whether he wanted the boot glass or the wine glass and I was like "Dude, they're $5. I'll get you both," and his eyes lit up with joy.

Stroller assembled! I put it off a whole week thinking it would be complicated. Graco click connect was literally connecting 6 things that snap together. So simple.
Those of you without scheduled C-sections, how are you determining when you're going out of work/starting your leave? Are you working until you go into labor or starting your leave around your due date, or something else? My LTS asked me yesterday what my plan was and I didn't really have a good answer to give.
@gingermama26 I'm a SAHM this time, but with my first, I went out right after 38.5 weeks. I had planned to use my 2 days that were regularly off, then used 5 vacation days to get the next week off before FMLA leave kicked in. Ended up having DD at 39w1d.
@gingermama26 FTM here - My official last day will be about a week before my EDD. I figured I'd be done - mentally and physically - by then and it would give me time to get any last-minute stuff done. Plus, if I'm overdue, I won't have too much time to sit on my hands. However, my replacement is starting Jan. 15 and if he is up to speed quickly enough, I'm already tempted to say adios earlier.
I'm working until he comes or I'm so uncomfortable that I can't work. I want as much time with him after and any time I take before is time I don't have after. That being said if I'm past my due date and miserable I'll go ahead and stay home.

I’m with you here. I just want as much time with my LO as possible. Crossing fingers my water doesn’t break at work!
Side note! Not getting fired! Wooo! My boss told me the other chick was being ridiculous for trying to force me to be in radiation while almost 8 months pregnant. She has no jurisdiction over me since she only works for the radiologists and not our company in particular. Hooray! One less thing to stress about! Now to pick up my baby kitty’s ashes tomorrow. Once she’s back home, I’ll feel better.
@smorzandoj +1 for crotch hiccups. It feels so weird.
AFM, one of our vendors sent in a cake for my office. It was soaked in bourbon. I felt the burn going down my throat. It was so good. I haven’t had anything to drink this whole time, so I’m thinking LO will be ok, but I’m waiting for another case of crotch hiccups.
Reading that August Ramzi thread and I just have to ask: when did "supporting women" become "you have to go along with whatever is said and never ever criticize or suggest that the person is doing something wrong"? Also "being mean" is not saying "by the way, posts of this nature are frowned upon here". If that is your standard for meanness then my god you live a sheltered life.

With my son, I worked until my due date. At my current job, the short term disability company has rules around when your leave begins as there is an elimination period that can start 7 days prior to your due date. So my elimination period starts 7 days before my scheduled csection, but would have been 7 days prior to my due date had I not been a RCS mom. Do you get short term? I would start there if so.

I am working up until delivery, which is what I did with my son. I felt like 3 months was not enough time last time, personally, I know I would regret taking time before and losing days with Lo... even though it is very tempting

I'm a teacher. My leave is technically set to begin on or around 2/6, my EDD. But it's not very specific.

Yay! I am curious though on whether this woman complained and made any attempt to get you fired. That would be pretty ballsy.

Oh yeah, she went above my bosses head and complained to the VP of our region. This is not the first time she’s tried to get someone she dislikes fired. I’m glad I don’t usually have to work with her anymore. She’s over 64 and just needs to retire. She’s bitter and unhappy, and projects that onto our patients and coworkers. I have basically had to take her shit for 4 years, but I WILL stick up for my unborn child. I’m through with her BS. Rant over, thanks for letting me vent.

Ftm here and I'm hoping to work up to due date and take 10w6d off and then DH takes paternity. ( I go back May 14...he takes may 14- June 14 off....unless planet hath delays school year).
@gingermama26 STM here, and the first time around I planned to work pretty much until I went into labor (as others have noted, to save my maternity leave for baby's actual arrival), but to work from home if I went past my due date. I should note that I have a lot of flexibility with my job in terms of remote capabilities and transitioning work to others, so this won't be available to everyone, but is a great option if it works for you. It didn't wind up mattering, as my water broke in my office at 36 weeks, but it was a good plan while it lasted!
This time, with my PTL risk, I will probably be starting fully remote work significantly earlier.
ETA: Agree with the above suggestion to investigate how short term disability might be able to help bridge the end-of-pregnancy-to-delivery gap. I would imagine most providers are on board to provide the necessary paperwork.
@gingermama26 with my first I planned to work up until my due date. I took the week before my due date off with a doctors note (used some sick leave) and then baby was 8 days late! I am scheduled to work until 2/16 and if I need to go off early I will get a doctors note and use my sick leave until the baby comes and then my maternity leave Starts on my due date!
FTM here. I’m taking 4 weeks before my due date because it’s use it or lose it. None of that time can be carried over to after delivery. I don’t necessarily know what I’ll be doing with myself for possibly a month or more, but I get the time so I’m taking it.

I had to leave my job at 28 weeks when I was pregnant with DD. All the time off was boring some days but seriously great during others. I had bad third tri insomnia so that allowed me to sleep whenever I needed to. If you have any books you want to read that's a good time to do it. I binged shows, cleaned random things in my house that typically got neglected, and took like 4 baths a day.

Glad you're not fired, and that kitty's coming home forever.
I'm off work,6 weeks ahead of delievery. No medical reason, I'm just huge and uncomfortable. I have enough sick hours to carry me to mid January and then short term disablity at 67% of my wage for the remainder until DS is born with no impact on the 12 months of maternity leave I am taking.

FTM and I'd like to work until I pop. I at least got approval to work at the office much closer to home all of January vs. HQ which is an hour away.
We've hired 1.5 people for my department in the last 4 months that I've been training up. Hoping to get one more in by new years. One is part time because she's in school. The full 1 person is a rock star, and I'm glad she's catching on so fast, except she got approval for 2 weeks vacation overseas the first half of January! (Another department hired her, then she transferred to me). I'm hoping I don't pop more than 2 weeks early so there won't be a major gap in work.

This is my plan too. Like @gingermama26 , I'm a teacher, so I requested leave beginning on my EDD, and it will just depend on when LO comes. I have enough sick time to cover me through the end of the school year. I am currently on bedrest until at least 1/2, but hoping to go back to work for a few weeks before I deliver.
We had a ton of drama dealing with our tile installation. We ended up getting compensated $500 which is nice.
I had an OB appointment today and DD was not having it. I didn't feel like fighting her on stealing a pee sample cup so she proceeded to drink her water out of that. Whatever. Everyone was entertained in the office

I am dying from laughter @SarahFoley725! How can you be mad at her when she's that cute??
Haha I wasn't mad! She really struggled at my appointment today and it was definitely not a battle worth fighting. Plus it was hilarious. She was so pleased with her little cup.
I booked my fresh 48 session tonight! I’m super excited as I’ve been wanting it since I first saw one. Have any STM+’s done one before? I’m trying to decide if I want to bring a special outfit or keep DS2 in the hospital clothes. All opinions welcome:).
I'm in the lab for the three hour glucose test again. The drink still sucks. My husband went through the drivethru on the way here. Now he's running errands while I sit here and scroll through the internet.
Also, I feel like a grade A jerk for not being more active lately. The app is so glitchy for me that by the time I get it to work the free second I had to check in is gone and my girls are needing me. I still love you guys a ton!
