My daughter's birthday party this weekend is GoT themed! We figure the first birthday is as much of a celebration for us as it is for her plus she won't know one way or another. I'm turning her high chair into the iron throne and have lots other awesome decorations

eta: @Poppy0419 yay for finally having s diagnosis! I hope the antibiotics kick the Cdiff and you have no further issues!
Me: 31 DH: 32 Dating since: 11/17/2001 Married: 9/26/2009 TTC: June 2016
@Poppy0419 I’m glad you have some answers, but I’m really sorry you’re sick:-( C diff and a sludgy gallbladder sucks sounds awful. I hope they figure out what to do and that you have a very speedy recovery.
Had our gender ultrasound today! Baby is healthy and it's gender is safely in an envelope to go to the baker for our cake. I'm dying to open this sucker up...just gotta wait until Saturday evening to cut the cake!
@onesmallcoconut Does he? I've never noticed! Maybe because I never actually sit and watch it, I usually find other things to do while it's on because it annoys me that much.
I think it might've just been one episode but it was enough lol I also get the themesong stuck in my head a lot unfortunately
@Poppy0419 So glad they finally figured out what is going on! I know Cdiff is a really nasty one, so I am thinking of you and hope the doctors heal you quickly. Hope you get plenty of rest and feel much better soon!
Princess @Poppy0419 I am so glad you have a diagnosis and can hopefully get everything back on track soon. I had a feeling cdiff was part of the problem....it is SO MISERABLE!
@sparklingdiamond@suchaglencoco. You totally have to start at season 1, episode 1 and go in order or you will be SO LOST! I read all the books and told myself I wouldn't watch to show until all the books were out and of course that was never going to happen because GRR Martin is IMPOSSIBLE! But, it's totally worth it, I am literally counting down the days until Season 8! Also, if you need help understanding anything, let me know, I'm a complete GOT nerd.
@Poppy0419 I'm relieved you have a diagnosis and game plan. I've been waiting for an update from you. Feel better! I'm sure it's hard to be away from your family on top of everything else.
Our party last night was good. I'm so tired I can't think. DH and I are supposed to take the day off and have some us time tomorrow.
AFM, last night I took a long shower and just relaxed a little, made myself some trail mix and then went to bed comfortably alone. I admit, I was using DH's pillow to support my lower back as well as a couple others. When he got home from work and came to bed instead of just getting another pillow he very quickly yanks his out from under me completely waking me up with a stabbing pain down my a$$ and legs from sciatica. I nicely said since I'm carrying a baby and incredibly uncomfortable pretty much all the time the least he could have done is just used a different pillow for one night so I could get some sleep. I never did get very comfortable again. This comes after twice last weekend when I fell asleep on the couch and instead of just letting me sleep (like I have asked multiple times) he takes blankets off of me and won't stop waking me up to tell me to go to bed. Just F*****G let me sleep dear husband. However it looks to you. If I am aslee I promise I am comfortable. Laying on the bed without pillows is not comfortable. I don't care how you like to sleep.
So, question for you ladies and also ****trigger warning, major pregnancy complication ***** My SIL is 33 weeks pregnant. At 20 weeks she was diagnosed with a low lying placenta. It had to move .3 centimeters by 32 weeks. She went in yesterday and the ultrasound tech implied that it hadn’t moved, but didn’t say anything definitive. No one from her practice has called her yet and she had the ultrasound yesterday morning. I’m guessing that’s good sign, because from what I’ve read, placenta previa is extremely serious. What do you guys think?
@gildah if it was supposed to move but didn't, I wouldn't think that is a good sign per se. Maybe the doctors just haven't gotten to it yet? I hope everything turns out well for her!

I was so worried i couldn’t sleep last night. I did way too much googling!!! I cant imagine that they would bring her in immediately for an evaluation if she had placental previa this late. It seems like a lot of women are hospitalized because of it. She also has a history of preterm birth so you’d think they’d be all over this. Fingers crossed that she misinterpreted what the ultrasound tech said!!!! Thank you for your concern!
Sidenote- I am always surprised at the number of people who see ultrasound techs. Mine have always been with a doctor. Is that uncommon?
My random- We had our Hanukkah dinner last night and my BFF was there with her son and baby. MIL swears we never told her that my BFF was pregnant/had a baby... Umm.. how did you miss that, especially when I threw the shower for her at our house and know I mentioned it about a million times. I swear she's losing it.
@mileswithmyles my NT scan and upcoming AS will be with an ultrasound tech. The scans are at a completely different facility (and in a different town) than my doctor's office and my OB isn't there.
The only scan performed by my doctor was the one at my first appointment at 9 weeks.
@mileswithmyles my NT scan and AS were both with ultrasound techs with DS. I think only my first US and the US towards the end where she saw he was head down where the only ones my OB did.
All of the ones (every appointment) with the twins have been with my OB which I think is more common due to it being a multiple pregnancy.
The only u/s that I have had done by doctors were in early pregnancies with our RE. Once we got released to the OB, it's always been techs, even with the twin pregnancy. Although we did do 2 quick portable u/s with an OB at the last 2 visits because of a minor meltdown on my part and the 2nd was the OB couldn't find the hb with the doppler. Those were just quick "yup, baby is in there and looks good" with no measurements. I think a lot of it has to do with how big or how intimate the practice you are with is. Our practice has like 6 OBs, 4 midwives (I think) and 2 u/s techs. I see the techs, they do their thing, a nurse does my weight and such and then the doctor reviews the u/s with me/us.
@mileswithmyles with J the Dr’s office had an ultrasound tech that only worked two days a week there, and the dr himself didn’t do any of the ultrasounds or relay information about them. It was all her, and she was hateful talking about all the poor Medicaid people that went through the office. (Which I was but I didn’t fit her predetermined biases she had so it didn’t register)
@suchaglencoco@lincbeesmom Interesting. My OB practice is through my HMO and they have 6 doctors in the practice and no techs. And my AS and NT were with a perinatology practice.
@mileswithmyles All of my US has been with a tech, and not my Dr. In fact, similar to other above, my NT scan and AS is at a different facility altogether.
My official US's have been with the tech, I think she is only there a couple days a week. My for fun US's have been with my OB, he's the only OB/owner of the practice though so I don't know if that makes any difference.
With my MFM, they always have a tech do the u/s and then the doctor comes in and does it again. IT makes for long appts though. With my RE, he did the first few u/s. Then my OB did the first one with when I switched to him.
Talked to my SIL. It looks like the placenta has to move 3 millimeters to avoid a c section. They are going to rescan in 4 weeks. It doesn’t seem like they are concerned about it at this point.
@mileswithmyles all of my U/S have been with a tech and at a separate facility from my OB. There is a doctor in the back that reviews everything before they left you leave.
I had a cup of coffee this morning. Do you think I’d be ok drinking a Mountain Dew right now? I’m desperate for energy and I never drink more caffeine than just my coffee in the morning. I’m scared! Haha
@lincbeesmom I wa told up to 200mg a Day was fine. A cup of coffee has about 90.
^^^ wss Some days I do one or the other, but days like today I drank my Starbucks iced coffee (one of those small ones in the glass bottle) and a diet coke.
Thanks everyone! The Mountain Dew dh has in the fridge has sucralose in it. Pretty much all artificial sugar gives me a headache so I decided against it
@lincbeesmom I weirdly had a mt dew this afternoon after having this debate with myself! I caved though!
@sparklingdiamond I'm pretty sure I would have just burst into tears! Or let out all of my rage and yelled right back. It would've been a coin toss! Also good luck tomorrow!
edit: @mileswithmyles mine are also with a tech and then we have an appointment with the OB. I've actually only seen an OB once this entire pregnancy. All of my appointments have been with a NP and my first was just a nurse.
@gildah glad it's not as worrisome as she originally thought!
