Re: Wednesday Ticker Change - 12/13
5 weeks today. Baby is an Appleseed.
2. How are you feeling lately?
Nothing pregnancy related to speak of yetwhich is great, but I guess I have the flu so that may be masking some of the symptoms. I've had a fever for 5 days now! Ugh.
3. Any appointments coming up?
First appointment is 1/5.
4. Rants, Raves, Questions?
I went to my primary care doctor yesterday to see if they could give me anything to help, and because I was worried by the extended fever. She basically told me she thought it was allergies. Are you kidding me?! Allergies don't give you a fever of 101-102 for 5 days! But, she did test me for pertussis, which was negative. My OB told me I can really only take Tylenol, so I've been doing that round the clock to try to keep the fever down. This sucks, the end.
5. What is your biggest pet peeve?
Bad grammar and punctuation. Kills me every time. I usually don't even read things that are poorly punctuated.
4 weeks - poppy seed
2. How are you feeling lately?
A bit crampy and I'm asleep by 9pm every night. Other than that, just some awesome mood swings. Poor DH...
3. Any appointments coming up?
I go in tomorrow for initial blood work and to get my diabetic care established. I was diagnosed during my last pregnancy (Glucose tolerance test results came back at 400 and my A1C was 10) and my OB/GYN that handled my case has moved on to a new practice. So this appointment will be more going through my history and hopefully getting a referral to the MFM office for my insulin management.
4. Rants, Raves, Questions?
Just so excited to start getting to know everyone! I tried to mobile bump last night and I'm not a fan. Anyone on mobile - do you use the app or use an interwebz browser?
5. What is your biggest pet peeve?
Loud chewers / people who chew with their mouth open. Blech.
@juliebird6 I'm so sorry you're sick! I don't have any advice but I hope you feel better soon!

2. How are you feeling lately? Nauseous, tired, cravings, crazy dreams. I kind of just want this trimester to be over so I have a bit more energy again.
3. Any appointments coming up? Next week is my dating ultrasound at 8 weeks, first one
4. Rants, Raves, Questions? I was thinking of paying out of pocket for Panorama to find out the baby's sex really early, but now I am leaning towards just waiting until 20 weeks. Still can't decide.
5. What is your biggest pet peeve? Nothing really jumps to mind tbh!
6 weeks. Pomegranate seed, sweet pea, lentil=)
2. How are you feeling lately?
I woke up really crampy and my breasts are incredibly sore. Both of these symptoms have been near constant from just before 4 weeks, and are just getting worse over time. Maybe I'll try some Tylenol today. Other than that, I'm just tired, and trying to find balance between feeling excited, and not wanting to get too excited because of how early it still is.
3. Any appointments coming up?
I had my first OB GYN appt yesterday, but it was just a new patient visit. We basically went over all of my health history. Since both my embryo and I were conceived via anonymous sperm donors a lot of the health history was just handing the nurse the donor profile sheets. The upside is that we have a detailed medical history, and genetic testing results. Everything looks good so far, and I am allowing myself to be cautiously optimistic.
I have a dating ultrasound on 12/21, and I'm really looking forward to that. I think hearing a healthy heartbeat will allow me to relax somewhat. I have another appt on the 22nd with a different OB, and my intention is to keep the one I like best. The first one is a nice office, and just 2 blocks from my house, but the second is a "preferred provider" under my insurance. I'll have to decide which is the best option.
4. Rants, Raves, Questions?
I miss coffee, and my boobs hurt! Overall things are really good so far, so most of my complaints are "first world problems." I still miss coffee, though. My questions are mostly longer term. We're taking my DSS to Disney World for his 18th birthday in March, and I'm concerned that my pregnancy will make things difficult. I'm hoping that I can still do some rides, and have a good time. I'm also travelling (via car) to Yellowstone about 3 weeks before my EDD. I still plan to go, but I'll need to have a birth plan in place in case things happen early.
5. What is your biggest pet peeve?
Babies drinking sugary drinks out of a bottle! Why do people give chocolate milk or juice or "juice" to babies?! WHY?! Until a kid is old enough to use a cup I don't see any reason for anything other than milk (formula) or water. Getting an infant addicted to sugar seems cruel.

Personally I wouldn’t want to go if it were me. There’s a lot you can do, but I love the thrill rides.

2. How are you feeling lately? Tired and every other day like clock work I don’t feel good. So today is the day that I don’t feel good.
3. Any appointments coming up? Ultrasound scheduled on December 21
4. Rants, Raves, Questions? I am a STM and still don’t believe that I am pregnant. It took Almost 4 years to get pregnant this time around, so I am still in disbelief.
5. What is your biggest pet peeve? When people ask questions when they already know the answer. My husband does this a lot and it is so irritating.
2. How are you feeling lately? My boobs. They are insane and are so sore. I have waves of feeling gross and my sense of smell is already over the top. My daughter's cereal smelled like dog food this morning. Yuck. Oh and insomnia. Constantly tired.
I am sad too. I dropped my daughter off to head to basic training yesterday. I know she will do great but I am still her mama.
3. Any appointments coming up? No appointments yet. I called my OB of 10 years to get in to be seen to check my thyroid and progesterone. I am currently in the middle of relocating so they don't have an appointment available before we move. And basically said I was on my own which was a little disappointing considering my history (M/C's)
4. Rants, Raves, Questions? I am not sure what I should do with getting a new doctor. I don't want to go through all of the new patient business and then move. But then again, I am worried about getting things checked out. I did start progesterone cream on my own today. Meh.
5. What is your biggest pet peeve? I have misophonia. So mouth noises, chip bags crinkling, keyboard clacking, etc. It drives me insane. I try my hardest to ignore it but most of the time it is impossible. I always joke that if I am ever accused of murder, that would be the reason LOL
6 weeks today according to TB LMP calculator, once I have my first appointment with OB it may be off a day or two
2. How are you feeling lately?
I'm on the sick train too. What started out as a tickle in my throat escalated to full misery. Worst part is LO is going through it with me. Hearing her coughing in her crib at night and waking up with crusty boogy face tears me up. I definitely can't differentiate cold symptoms vs. pregnancy symptoms so hopefully next check in I'll know more.
3. Any appointments coming up?
None until January
4. Rants, Raves, Questions?
Rant- due date calculators being different by a day based on the same information
Rave- slurpees when you have a sore throat
No questions this week
5. What is your biggest pet peeve?
When people say melk instead of milk. Just so wrong.
