Re: 12/12 Tuesday Ticker Change

  • 1. How far along are you? How big is baby?
    24 weeks - cantaloupe

    2. How are you feeling lately?
    Big - lol and tired.

    3. Any appointments coming up?
I had an appointment today. Everything went well, next month is the Glucose test and then every two weeks after that.

    5. GTKY: Are you a SAHM or a WM?

I'm a working mom. My career has always been a hot priority for me, but I've been feeling a pull to lean out of the work place. I work about 60-70 hours a week and I hate how I'm always stressed and working. I know SAHM's have a lot of demands on them, but I am envious of the life sometimes. I also know the grass isn't always greener (from what my SAHM friend's say).

  • 1. How many weeks along are you? How big is baby?
24w, cantaloupe according to TB, eggplant according to Ovia

    2. How are you feeling lately?
Surprisingly well, besides being extremely emotional to all things

    3. Any appointments coming up?
    Next Friday

    4. Rants, Raves, Questions?
I have a history of a breech baby. At what point would you start to schedule chiro visits to help everything align? It’s a really busy time of year so I wanted to get through the holiday, but I’m thinking the sooner the better?

    5. Holiday Traditions (because I copied mine lol) and Kind of Mom
We like to visit this beautiful gardens near us that has lights outside and decorations. Other than that, we bake cookies together and get our new PJs on Christmas Eve. A tradition that’s fun at my family’s house is that we all open gifts one at at time and watch. There are 7 kids and only 2 don’t have spouses. It’s always something I look forward to on Christmas!

I’m a teacher and in grad school so work all the time right now, but it’s the best of both worlds when I’m not in grad school.

  • @ekendall09 I used to work that much until I realized as a teacher there is no point in killing myself and learned to prioritize. My husband worked a demanding job for years before a career change and it wasn’t worth it to see both of us as unhappy working parents. I’ve found a much better balance. But as a SAHM during summer and breaks, I can honestly say that the mental load is unbearable at times during the school year, but that’s the only negative I’ve found to being a working mom vs. SAHM.

  • 1. How far along are you? How big is baby?
24 weeks, cantelope, ear of corn or eggplant

    2. How are you feeling lately?
Good, except I haven't been making it to the gym and it has started to be uncomfortable to bend over to zip up my boots or my long coat.

    3. Any appointments coming up?
    Not until after Christmas.

    4.Rants/Raves/Questions?

    5. GTKY: Are you a SAHM or a WM?
A little bit of both right now. I am working on my PhD, so I am spending the year applying to internships and finishing my dissertation, so I don't have many time commitments right now. I will have 2-5 months off with baby before my internship hopefully starts. But I plan on being a working Mom, gotta pay off this student loan debt somehow.

  • @linds0503 damn the student debt!

@tooraloorah - I haven't had to do that, but I think after 32 weeks? If you do it too soon the baby will shift around too much (from what I've heard) and could go back to breech.
  • @angiek1 I knew thanks to growth scans that DD1 was breech from 31 to 38 weeks so I just want this one to remain head down. She’s so low as it is and my back is hurting something fierce so I wanted to go, but I’m worried it’ll encourage her to flip multiple times like her big sister lol.

  • @tooraloorah fingers crossed this one stays heads down for you. Last night I could literally feel the baby kicking my vagina... I was waiting for a foot to come out. lOL
  • @angiek1 ugh. See I'm worried this baby is actually now breech. All movement I feel is in my pelvis. I never feel anything high other than random bumps. Or this baby is just sleeping all day (totally what I think) and awake most of the night because I walk around at work constantly. She is usually up when I wake up, then goes to sleep from my car ride to work and I don't feel a lot of movement again until around bedtime.
