@elsie42 ugh so.many.pimples. I haven't broken out like this in years! @izza2 the closest I come to a "glow" is my glistening face of sweat after puking
@doxiemoxie212 - That's what I read somewhere too (and it makes sense), but I feel like any glowing I could get from extra blood flow is overblown by constant acne and dark circles under my eyes (I didn't realize I'd wake up every time I shifted positions at night!). When I was first TTGP and reading all the things, I remember reading that when you're in your FW, you'll kind of have a glow because of the extra blood and hormones rushing through your system. I feel like that was totally accurate for me, though.
@Austenista - Well I'm keeping my FX that second trimester does kind things for both of us, then!
@lrichhx05 - Lmao, I usually "glow" after throwing up from the tears involuntarily streaming down my face. I learned the past couple of weeks that I tear up like a sieve every time I vomit, so that's been glorious!
Pregnancy glow is garbage. Pregnancy hair, on the other hand, is real and magical and wonderful and I swear my hair already looks lusher (and I'm hoping it's going to make all the little baby hairs from last pregnancy's hair loss grow out much faster).

@doxiemoxie212 Ugh, I am so jealous. I barely have enough hair to cover my head. Luckily my husband has enough for at least three people, so I'm hoping our kids won't be destined to my limp-haired fate (looks good for our first, so far).

For those of you with full heads of hair now...don't worry- you'll lose some of it with postpartum hair loss...I was just admiring my regrowth this morning. I didn't even realize I was losing hair until it started growing back...super fun
@doxiemoxie212 - don’t worry. All the amazingly full, shinny hair falls out in droves post partum.
AFM ~ 14 weeks today and still praying the nausea, puking and exhaustion go away soon. It seems this week is worse, which is annoying when it’s supposed to be getting better. I’m also noticing I’m having a really hard time falling asleep at night the last few days. So fun. I don’t remember that happening so early last time.
I dont know who these women are that glow, but I’m over here looking like a troll. Breakouts galore and just over all looking a mess. If there is any truth in the “girls steal your beauty” wives tale, then this is for sure a girl. Haha. We shall see soon enough.
@kmurdock925@BurlapandLace my hair ALREADY falls out in clumps. That's what I'm saying. I have a tremendous amount of hair, and I am constantly shedding. DH complains daily that my hair ends up in his shoes and wrapped around his balls. Every time I shower, I cover the entire wall with hair (which I promise myself I'll remove after and then forget ). I don't need more hair, and I don't need more shedding.
MH told me Friday that I was "glowing" but I was on a "we just found out the baby is healthy and a boy" high. I feel like the pregnancy glow is really just talking about when we are super happy and excited- not an everyday thing.
Also, I was finger combing my hair today and kept coming away with hair- waiting patiently for the fuller hair and thicker nails.
@MissKittyDanger my nipples are way more sensitive when pregnant than when just nursing. I’ve definitely slapped MHs hand away for touching them or trying to touch them recently.
Also, pregnancy glow my ass. My face is filled with pimples! I never used to get breakouts on my forehead and it's so bad there right now. I shouldn't complain because I really didn't have much MS/nausea so this symptom isn't so bad but it's still annoying af.
Same! Except mine are on my chin I never broke out as a teen so this is weird AF! Maybe old wives tales are true with us, and we're having girls? Lol
Suggestion, is to do a mattifying and acne related mask. I've been using a few diff ones, but Sephora had one that you can do specifically for spot treatment. Helps absorb oils {I had combo/oily skin before, pregnancy gave me oilier skin}
@jsl82 I can imagine the glow after hearing that! My nails have been growing pretty decently, but the hair .... nope. Seriously, this had better be a girl with the old wives tales of her "stealing the mother's beauty" lol!

So I can't remember if it was discussed here or if it was with friends/family, but we were talking about fussy babies and if you just cant figure out why they wont stop whaling, you've checked all the other boxes, strip them down and check all fingers, toes and other appendages, including male genitalia for your hair that could be wrapped around them.

I always get compliments about my 'glow' when I wear makeup. Even my mum said recently that I had a glow. Later I took makeup off and sent a photo and showed her 'the real me' and she laughed saying I had really good makeup
Seriously though ... Urban Decay 24/7 concealer pencil! It's thick enough to cover whatever you want hidden and light enough to blend easily. #yourewelcome Currently trying out the IT Cosmetics concealer. So far so good
@krashke - yes! I've read articles on this (fortunately haven't had the issue) but the photos of some of the poor babe's piggies with their circulation cut off from HAIR makes me hurt for them
@krashke@kmurdock925 Totally happened to my kid. Ever since he was a few weeks old, he has comforted himself by grabbing a handful of my hair in each hand. Especially once I started postpartum shedding, he had hair wrapped around his fingers all. the. time. It never got to the circulation-cutting stage, but man...it is amazing how tightly that stuff can get wrapped!

+1 to the crappy sleep +1 to the heartburn. I had it SO BAD with DS but not until later. Now I've gotta stop eating about 2 hours before bed or it's bad.
The pregnancy glow is most likely to come in the second trimester since that's when most people feel their best. I'm still waiting for mine..
My hair was soooo nice in 3rd tri with DS. And ugh, I forgot how much of it came out in chunks post partum. Gird your drains, ladies!
@izza I haven't experienced a glow yet but noticed my hair looks better, despite me taking a lot less care with it since pg. Outside of the physical reasons, I'd imagine the glow would be similar to the glow people say you have during your engagement. You're just randomly happy. I noticed I uploaded all of 3 pictures of me since the wedding last Aug. After a year of being photographed (proposal, engagement pictures, bridal shower, bachelorette, wedding) I think people just notice it more.
@doxiemoxie212 - Okay, but does it also get in YH's butt crack? H swears I shove it in his underwear while he sleeps, because he always finds a piece (or a dozen) of my hair in his butt on like a daily basis.
@krashke It's totally real and scary! My mom told me that when I was a baby she couldn't for the life of her figure out why I wouldn't stop crying (she checked all the boxes). When it came to bath time, that's when she noticed a hair wrapped around one of my toes and it was all swollen and red and was basically cutting into the skin. Thankfully there were no long term issues with it afterwards but she's told me that story for as long as I remember to make sure I'm aware of what can happen.
Hi! I’m new to posting, but having so many weird symptoms this week! I’m 12 weeks, 5 days and up to now have had common symptoms-mostly nausea, food aversions, and lots of emotions!!! This week have been light headed on and off (I almost passed out in the locker room after swimming!). I also had an emergency appointment because I had A LOT of discharge and a little spotting, but everything was normal (they suspected a bacterial infection, but all was clear, I of course feared the worst, but the little one had a good heartbeat and was bouncing around in there!). Anyone experienced anything similar??
So, on the skin topic...I have the opposite of pregnancy glow. My skin is so dry and flaky - yuck. I don't know if it's pregnancy related or just seasonal. I have naturally dry skin, but I slather it in oil and moisturizers and normally it's fine. Anybody else feeling like a flaky lizard?
Oh, and don't worry...just because it's drier than the Sahara doesn't mean I'm spared from the break outs - I'm getting my fair share of those too (How??)
@katelynrae86 yeah, my skin is dry AF. Still have acne, though, which is fun. I've always had dry skin, though, even as a teenager, and I had acne then too. Took me literally a decade to figure out that I needed topical prescription stuff from a dermatologist, but it's not pregnancy safe. I think its generic name was sulfacetamide? IDK. But all the regular stuff in OTC acne products dries the eff out of my skin and actually exacerbates my acne. Fun fun fun.
@glitterfingers I literally could not survive pregnancy without my chiropractor! I have such a bad neck, mix that with regular pregnancy headaches = no go. Plus I’ve been starting to feel a lot of discomfort in my lower back, so I’ll be going for that as well. I didn’t go as frequently when I was pregnant with DD and definitely regret that.. I could’ve been a lot more comfortable during that pregnancy had I not been so stubborn.
@MissKittyDanger no answer to your first question, but to answer your second.. in my experience the first few weeks of breastfeeding were the hardest only because DD & I took a little longer to get into the rhythm of things and my nipples would become quite sensitive from her latch up until the letdown of milk.. after that it felt a lot better. Almost like a quick pinch, and then it was quite bearable again. I wouldn’t compare it to how my nipples feel when I’m pregnant, it definitely felt different to me.
@MoonOverGoldsboro oh man, I’m already mentally preparing myself for those postpartum baby hairs I feel like mine from last time are finallyyy getting long-ish again, I cringe knowing I’m gonna have to start all over
AFM. Sex dreams have been starting up again. lately sex leaves me feeling so sore, everywhere. And I’m not even having FUN sex, here. So these dreams are not helping. Lame.
Anyone else feeling allll the RLP when they walk? I feel like my pelvis is being torn apart. I definitely remember having this with DD, but not this early.
I get terrible stomach pain when pregnant. Not cramps, not bh, not too, just a straight up stomach pain. It only happens during pregnancy. Last time I had it so bad I went in to see the Dr and they were like "well, it's not contractions..." yeah, I know thanks. Maybe my stomach is mad that it has to move around?
Ugh! Does anyone else have periodic pelvic pressure?! I’m 14 +3 and lately I have been getting this random pressure in my lower stomach that is not painful but just super uncomfortable. Like it’s trapped gas or something. My belly is bloated and hard too during these times.
It sounds like it might actually be trapped gas. I know sometimes I get some pressure and mild pain when I have a lot of trapped gas. Same goes for when I'm constipated. Maybe try taking some gas-x to see if you pass gas. Are you having normal bowel movements? If not what you're describing could totally be constipation also.

I had digestive issues before pregnancy, and it's not worse or better now but just different. 100% sounds like you need more fiber also, but if it is potentially trapped gas try putting heating pad or hot water bottle on the area for a bit. Relaxes the muscles around and make things 'easier to move' per say.
I'm having some seriously crazy dreams. I've always had vivid dreams that I remember in detail, but the one last night I have to blame on a pregnancy symptom. In it my two babies moved out of my uterus in their placentas and attached themselves to trees. Then, when they decided to "be born" they just kind of hatched out of the trees as full grown adults. They were both girls - if that means anything! Lol!
@LaceyBee522 Your dream is reminding me of a family I met with all girls with tree names: Willow, Aspen, I forget the 3rd. Maple? Don't do Cherry or Peaches if you go this route...
I'm having vivid but uninteresting dreams that don't make good stories.
