All. The. Pressure. Lower back aches and sometimes my legs just don't want to work. It is pretty crazy! But I still get days where I have lots of energy, so I have ensured that I do a lot on those particular days as I don't feel TOTALLY ready for baby just yet. Also, pregnancy insomnia. I have been awake since 3am and I am sure I look lovely.
I think I feel asleep on the couch 5 times yesterday while actively reading or watching tv. It's like I'm narcoleptic now. And my god the snoring! It's gotten soooo bad and I hope it's just because of pregnancy congestion or the fact that I'm a zombie and not a lasting thing.
- I've definitely seen an increase in anxiety and some depression (nothing I would call my provider about, I'm just attributing it to hormone fluctuations). More irritability. This includes doubts and anxiety regarding my birthing time, existential anxiety about my life in general and existential panic about eventually dying and leaving my children (yes, my brain goes there).
- While I have generally been feeling good, I've noticed that I'm only comfortable for brief periods of time. If I'm sitting, I start to get uncomfortable from everything in my core being squished. If I'm standing, I start getting tired or my legs start hurting so I can't do that for long either. I find myself moving a lot. And after sitting in one position for a while (I mean, there's only so many positions at this point) I am pretty stiff and limp-y for a minute or so when I first get up until my body starts working again.
- I've seen "stars" randomly a few times. But no accompanying headache or dizziness or lightheadedness. I asked the MDs at my job and she says it's because I'm not getting enough blood flow to my brain, which is common at this point in pregnancy because it is being redirected to my belly. However, she also encouraged me to SIT DOWN when this happens
@missblaze I had the stars the other day too! But I felt fine otherwise so I just assumed I got up too quick or moved too suddenly. Good to know it wasn't just me, but I guess I should pay more attention to it next time. And +1 to the squishing my core sitting down. I keep having to adjust how I eat since I can't bend over ANY to reach my plate
Stars here on Thursday and Friday too. So weird. And @missblaze, I could have written your post. I will say the anxiety/depression has decreased a little over the last week for me (yay) and I too attribute it to hormones, but I am dealing with self-doubt and ALL of the existential panic. There is this quote I'm butchering from Beckett, I believe, that goes something like this: "How cruel, to pluck a soul from non-existence!" (Put into True Detective as, "the hubris it must take to yank a soul out of non existence." Needless to say, that runs through my mind A LOT...
Lower back pain and the pubic bone pain when getting up or rolling over in bed are getting worse, insomnia, discomfort in general, super irritable, and just so tired.
Ditto on could have written your post @missblaze. I have so much anxiety. I had a dream I delivered the baby at home in my bathtub. I had a dream that DH got in a car accident and died. I like the giving birth part and I'm totally freaking out about it. I've been seeing stars for several weeks and have had a bad headache for a week and a half. Appointment on Wednesday, still hoping for good BP
My vagina hurts so bad, mostly when I move. I don't know if it's lightening crotch or what, but I'm so over it. I never had this with my first. I also keep having really strange moments where I don't feel pregnant at all and kind of freak out because I'm convinced the baby isn't in there anymore, which is ridiculous because it's quite obvious that she is.
I get the stars after I shower usually. I'm so exhausted and my belly just feels so, so heavy. I think he may have dropped yesterday because there's been so much pressure a lot lower, and I can kind of take deeper breaths. My hips also feel like they're detached from my body.
Yes to the dropping, @schaze! I looked down at my belly this morning and thought, "huh...my boobs aren't resting on my stomach anymore." I'm still feeling generally okay physically, which I attribute to the fact that I'm 5'10", so there's a lot of room for this little guy. But the acid reflux is going to be the death of me. And the fatigue...which has been my #1 complaint since conception!
@cyanope I am SO jealous! I am 5'11" and thought for sure I would be doing better physically, but the damn pressure is SO annoying! Outside of that I feel like I have been doing pretty well!
So much pressure and so many BH!!! I had a ton of BH with DS so I expected it but still, they are not pleasant. Also, the insomnia and increased bathroom breaks 24/7 aren't fun either. It definitely looks and feels like he dropped! I'm not even afraid of labor right now, I'm just ready to be done!
All the pressure here too!! I’ve been told by family that I haven’t seen in a few weeks that it looks like I’ve dropped. My belly just feels so heavy ! Lots of Braxton Hicks (which I’ve had with my prior two pregnancies too) and insomnia ! I’m so tired I can’t sleep lol
No pressure and only phantom BHs that I think I am imagining for desperation. I am getting occassional lightening crotch, so I hope he is relocating further into my cervix. I'm 37 weeks Wednesday, so I am ready for some labor signs to start showing up... please... god... someone? Anyone?
My finger joints hurt so much, especially in the morning! And my upper back is sooooo sore. I try to do exercises but I swear even just pelvic tilts are hard. How is that possible?
I really want to take my shoes (ballet flats) off at work because my feet have swelled but I'm almost positive they will smell horrible because I'm not, nor do I ever, wearing socks with them...If only I had an office door! Cube world sucks
Not sure if this was a real contraction, but last night I felt some cramping a lot lower than my BH usually are, and it wrapped around my back. It hurt, but it was the only one I had. I've been waiting all day to see if I feel anymore, but nothing beyond my normal excessive BH.
BH, pelvic pressure, irritability (that's an understatement), and my newest within the last hour, the most painful diarrhea/stomach cramps of my life. I legit text DH to bring me a glass of water cause I felt so dizzy...On the toilet!!
BH 4-6/hr, pelvic pressure, tail-bone pain, acid reflux despite meds, some swelling, and soooooooo tired. I'm also snoring badly, DH is sleeping with ear plugs and incredibly thirsty all the time, no matter how much I drink.
Constant pelvic pain, mainly my pubic bone. It feels like it’s going to shatter by the end of the day! Low back pain started over the weekend as well. Still needing to pop a Zofran 2-4 days a week for nausea. I wait until I’ve thrown up twice before I take it. Heartburn almost every night but Tums usually takes care of it. Her movements are getting downright painful now!
Yes to pelvic pain, I feel like it's gonna break when I trying to get out of bed. She has definitely dropped a little. Also super bad upper back pain around my rib cage. Had a ton of BH today and they are starting to get way uncomfortable
Fell asleep on the sofa at 7 pm tonight. Woke up at 8 pm and decided to go to bed. Got ready, bumped a bit, then tried to go to sleep. It's now 10:36 pm and I haven't fallen asleep yet. Seriously?!?!
@kelk5 this is my life these days. It’s such a waste of a good sleep when I fall asleep on the couch. And then DH wakes me up to be sweet and then I’m wide awake for hours. Like, let me sleep in the couch in peace.
Add me to the vomiting in the middle of the night group. I even recently increased the mg of zantac I'm taking, but this reflux is unreal. I ended up sleeping in the chair in my bedroom, but it really wasn't comfortable. I'm at the point that I'd rather wake up to a crying baby than feeling like that.
I have to humble brag for a sec.. I slept from 11ish to almost 6am with no interruptions! It was amazing. I did almost wet the bed when I got up, but it was worth it.
I get contractions in the middle of the night when I have to pee really bad. Before if I woke up bc I had to pee I would just ignore it and go back to sleep but now I can’t and have to get out of bed. I also get them if I (tmi) need to have a bowel movement- those suck even more.
@maueraa07 YES! Crying babies are cute and NEED you... my vomit is not cute, and no one needs it. Friday night was so bad for me, I'm literally traumatized to eat anything past 5 PM. There is this line from a poem I love, "Do I dare to eat a peach?" I totally get it now... it's about a middle aged loser who never has and never will amount to anything in life. Well, that's me now... my fear of acid reflux/midnight vomiting > my ambition to eat or do anything risky. Lol.
I’m waking up with a backache. Probably because I somehow sleep on my back here and there. This is odd because I generally hate to sleep on my back. Like @EmilyLove25, I’m symptom searching too and also 37 weeks on Wednesday. I just so badly want to have this baby on my own, preferably in December. Any time now... Having some anxiety also, which I’m trying to control with my to-do list.
@jakobaby We are twins with reverse sexes for our babies lol. Same due date, both wanting December and hoping not to be induced (again). I'm going to get serious at 38 weeks about gradually trying to encourage my body to work this baby out. We can share strategies!
Jealous of you 37-38 weekers, I’ll be 36 tomorrow. Getting tired of being pregnant. I would lovvvvve to not be induced either so I’ll be doing all the things to get him out of here in the next couple weeks
@sbishop426 Before you are jealous, remeber that I'll be 37 tomorrow but you could still very realistically go before me! I know having sex is one thing... but I just don't know if I can do that anymore. I will ask for a sweep at 39 weeks since that is right after Xmas anyway... other than that will start Raspberry Leaf Tea/bouncing on the exercise ball/even more walking next week after I hit 38 weeks...
@EmilyLove25 and @jakobaby I am allll for the tips too! I just got an exercise ball and I am thinking I need to get some Raspberry Leaf Tea STAT. And I am taking up @missblaze 's suggestion of dates! I believe we can go in December!
@missblaze@jaclyn0405@EmilyLove25 I’m on cup number two of the tea today and I’ve started on the dates. Started this at 36 weeks. Probably not eating enough of them though!! I’m purposely running around like a mad person haha. This probably isn’t working baby out though as much as I hope it is. I’ve heard of bouncing on an exercise ball to open the hips/avoid crossing legs. Anyone try castor oil or plan to? My OB mentioned to try this at 39 weeks. This one scares me.
I wonder how many dates are in these coconut/date rolls I bought haha. They’re basically a little cigar looking thing rolled in coconut. Only ingredients are dates and the coconut.
I’m right there with @jakobaby and @EmilyLove25, I’m symptom searching too and also 37 weeks today lol. We’re scheduled to try and induce at 39 weeks, after a membrane sweep earlier that day to see if we can have him in Dec lol. (We’ll go up to the point they’d need to break my water to continue, if it’s not progressing we’ll stop and let him come on his own, I call it the half assed induction plan) I’ve been doing 3-4 cups of red raspberry leaf tea a day since 35 weeks, the exercise ball lives in the living room so I can use it for tv watching, I’m doing 2,000 mg of evening primrose oil orally for now and will switch to vaginally next week, and I’m going to go buy dates today lol.

Lots of new(ish) symptoms in the last few days.
