@JuliaGoolia719 - yes! I get stuck on one thing and eat it over and over. I've had chicken noodle soup and a pb&j sandwich almost every night for dinner for the past month.
After two weeks of some SERIOUS productivity at work, I am ready to turn my class over to my sub when the time comes. All curriculum is in place until the end of the school year (June), daily lesson plans have been added to a Google calendar with links to all assignments, my 20 page document with the "need-to-know" info for my class is complete, all assignments up until now have been graded and entered, and my classroom is spotless. I'm kind of just sitting here like, "well...what do I do now?" and it feels glorious! Now I have more time to Bump (which I have been slacking on lately haha).
@cyanope So jealous of your productivity. I don't NEED any here in terms of preping for my leave (I'm very replaceable), but I had some ambitions... But welcome back to Bumping. It's pretty much 74% of what I do at work now!
@EmilyLove25, one of the downsides of being a classroom teacher...I can't just "walk away" from my job and have someone fill in. It sucks (especially on days where I want to call in sick), but I'm used to it by now. But I'm DONE, so I feel like I can finally relax and take a deep breath. It also helps that my personal (and not professional) "to-do" list is also done. Bags are packed (minus the stuff I use on the daily), and everything at home is prepared for a newborn. Now, I just need to spend the last few weeks putting my feet up, because I have been on an exhausting rampage for about the last month!
I wish I had an office door! It's cold (40s) outside today so our office decides to overcompensate (I swear it's 75-80 in here)...I have sweat EVERYWHERE...boob sweat, bump sweat, thigh sweat, feet sweat...you name it I'm sweating! There are toooooo many layers on my body for this heat! And I feel like it has to actually be hot in here it CANNOT just be because I'm pregnant...but that is definitely compounding the problem!
Y'all I just rearranged my schedule so I can take tomorrow OFF. Full sick day for a 15 minute doctor's appointment? YES, PLEASE. So excited. I have DD, so I'll be up early anyway, but not setting an alarm and spending two hours in the car sounds AMAZING!
@cyanope Man, I am so jealous. I just made a list yesterday of all the things I'd like to get done before baby and it is seriously daunting! Granted, I have until the end of Jan most likely but still...
So i just installed this door lock thing on the nursery door, and i thought i'd share it with you guys since i know some people were having issues with their toddlers "escaping" from their rooms or maybe keeping pets in/out: Safety 1st Prograde Top of Door Lock So basically it hooks to the top of the door (no screws/damage to door), and keeps the door open at a small gap. You can't push the door closed or open unless you are tall enough to reach it. I got it for keeping the door open when the baby is in there so i could hear, but also keeping my cats out of that room (they're too fat to fit through the gap) so they can't jump into the crib and sit on the baby's face
@cyanope your post is simultaneously inspiring and terrifying (glad you're feeling great about work but I am one million percent jealous!). I feel completely paralyzed because of my to do list. If it doesn't have to do with the nursery or delegating to DH, I'm making zero progress. And I feel pretty certain LO is coming in two weeks (due to extra fluid and baby size...I mean, my OB is impressed my uterus can still grow, so I assume that means I'm going to run out of time before the average bear).
@cyanope that is so awesome that you have your maternity leave prep for work finished!!! Long distance high-five! I'm so jealous! I'm hoping LO gives me two more weeks to finish my prep or at least one more week
@bainidhedub lol i like the liquor and scratch offs idea! @cyanope I really need a boost of your energy to get me through the baby prep finish line! @Dani0329 I also think that just bluntly stating that you will not continue to entertain the conversation might work too. By not participating, you take the momentum away from it. They may pout but that’s just too damn bad.
Thanks, ladies! I think since I’m due the earliest on this board (12/30..eeek!), I HAVE to get my stuff together! This LO could come at any time, so I was feeling the pressure to be ready.
Oh ya know... Our bunk beds came today... without the mattresses we purchased. So yeah. That's fun. We should hear from customer service within 48 hours.
I finally started my freezer meals last night! 3 good sized pans of baked ziti and 16 breakfast burritos done and frozen. Tonight we have infant cpr so no cooking, but tomorrow I’m hoping to get at least 2 more meals (multiple pans of each hopefully) done!
This should probably go for tomorrows FFFC. But whatever. I'm a dick. I was looking at the calendar for the weekends we have my step-son and if I go to the day the schedule me for my csection then I'll come home Thursday and then my SS will be at out house the next day. I'm still not sure how the whole breastfeeding in front of my 13 yr old SS will go and I'm just like ughhhh can we switch weekends so I don't feel stuck in my bedroom for an entire weekend. This makes me kinda hope they make me have her the week before. Gah. I'm such a dick. I'm not an overly modest person but I always feel like I'm stepping on toes with things like this with my SS and I don't want to piss his mom off if I accidentally expose my breast in front of him, especially since I have no clue what I'm doing when it comes to breastfeeding. So yeah. Basically. I'm a dick but I'm going to hide in my room for the weekend with the baby if I have to in order to get this ish figured out.
@supercoolstephy is it something you or DH could have a conversation with his mom about? Maybe let her have a conversation with him about breastfeeding and what goes on so it’s no surprise for anyone? Or at least have your DH have that conversation with him. Although I think most 13 year old boys would just kind of want to escape that situation tbh.
@Cricket99 yeah. His mom is not so cool about things like that. Like the week we were going to tell him about me being pregnant with DS she decided to give him the birds and the bees talk and make him thinks that sex was the most disgusting thing ever. So that was fun. It’s been a few years since then but still. I did have a conversation with DH just now, where I irrationally started bawling and I think it’ll just be best to either go hang out in my room, her room, or to cover up with a cover. I hate it but it’s only for weekends. I think once we get the breastfeeding thing down it will be quick and easy to latch but since last time didn’t work out I’m just so afraid of how it’s going to go. I just don’t want to feel like I’m setting myself up for failure this time.
I had a meeting scheduled today to go over some stuff that one of the girls is going to cover while I'm off, but it turned out to be a surprise sprinkle! Both the offices I work with, my boss, and a couple of my friends from other departments were there.
^ glad I'm not the only on who's still capable of putting down a big meal. Don't know how there is room in my squished stomach. It must depend on how baby is positioned, as other times I feel stuffed halfway through.

DH must be nesting. He never....I repeat never...does random things around the house. From time to time he will get fed up and"clean" our bedroom...But today, he reorganized our entire kitchen!!
NBR: I just realized I left my purse at work yesterday. So now I have to drive all the way to work and back (30 mins both ways) just to get it. I sort of hate my pregnant self right now.

Ugh, that's the worst. When ds was around 6-9 moths old I left my phone at the office. Of course it was a Friday and of course dh was out of town. So even though I realized it midway home, I had to go to daycare, then take a baby all the way back to the office.

Someone from church got my husband and I a gift card to Outback Steakhouse so we could have a date night before baby comes. I thought that was sooo sweet and not something I would have thought to do for someone I knew was pregnant but I think I may do that for the next expecting couple I know. We haven’t had a date night in forever

And then I proceeded to eat an entree and side salad plus drink a root beer at a restaurant 30 minutes later.
