Any appointments coming up? My regular OB appt is next Monday, the 11th.
Rants/Raves/Questions? My family is doing a T-shirt fundraiser to try and help with our costs and I just LOVE the design that the company came up with.
How are you doing? Doing pretty good. Just getting anxious about going to FL. I will have the fetal MRI and echo done there, so will finally get better information on exactly what all is up in the chest cavity and get a better idea on severity.
GTKY: What chance encounter changed your life forever? Hmm I mean this one is more indirect. But someone on the April group (I participate on that board too) connected me with another mom she knows from a previous BMB that is pregnant with a CDH baby as well. This mom is the one who told me about Dr. Kays and I think that was truly life changing for me.
@sparklingdiamond I'm so happy you've been able to make those connections and you have a plan going forward. I love seeing all of the good news you've been posting, and I hope you get the best answers in Florida. Are you getting the t-shirts done by custom ink? We have a local heart walk for the American heart association in the name of a teenager who died unexpectedly from an undiagnosed heart condition. The shirts that are made are always perfect.

Any appointments coming up? Next Monday for a follow up ultrasound for the "mass" maybe fibroid in my uterus.

Rave : Today is a half day with students.
Rant: A student who transferred to a charter school that is only half days and all work is self paced computer work came in yesterday and told me the principal and him discussed him taking an independent study with me for a class in not teaching next semester because he's doing doing well on that class in that school. And he's going to take the class while I'm teaching a different class, when I told him I already had a full class then and couldn't teach him, he said that's okay I'll stay after school to work with you. I'm sorry, but you left this school I don't want to work more than I have to because you don't like that class where you are. We would tell a student who is enrolled here that they'd have to wait until the course is offered next year, why does my principal think I should bend over backwards for this kid who isn't even enrolled here?

Surprisingly good. Busy weekend traveling back and forth to Buffalo for the bills game even though the game didn't go well, it was still a great time.
I also had a dream this weekend that a childhood friend's mother came and told me she was happy I was pregnant and not to worry because everything would turn out okay. It was extra weird because her mother passed away 2 years ago. There was just something very settling about it, though now as my appointment gets closer, my not worrying makes me worry a little bit.

I drove a bus for a field trip in my district before I started teaching and met one of the long time teachers at the high school. He was a big push for hiring me even though I was the only one of 4 candidates who was not certified for the position. If I wasn't hired at this school I was going to have to move back home (dh couldn't support both of us in his salary and there weren't any jobs available that could make up the difference I needed for my Para educator pay). If that happened I couldn't see dealing with a long distance relationship for too long so we'd likely not have been married or currently be pregnant.
@jhysmath I'd totally say no. It's on that kid for transferring out, and he can transfer back if he wants your education. I get annoyed when my wife stays late after school helping this one awful teacher's students understand their homework even though they're not in her class (when she has hundreds of her own actual students to help), and that's at least kids in her school. In that case it's the bad teacher's fault though, not the kids', so I get it, even if I'd rather she came home

Rants/Raves/Questions? Why are boys' clothes so stereotypically gendered?! I've started casually putting together some registry stuff, and while I'm not going to register for many clothes, if any, I browsed around. It looks like this kid is going to be in a lot of solid colors because I can't stand at least one design in each of the printed onesie sets.
How are you doing? Anxious about the AS, but pretty hopeful it will go okay this time. Also hoping I can be more confident about this pregnancy working out after that. The AS is when I found out baby wasn't viable last time, but that was a generally abnormal pregnancy. Ever since the vanishing twin saga ended with this one it's been pretty standard, so my fingers are firmly crossed. I even bought a crib on Black Friday (still in the box and returnable though), so I'm making progress on the anxiety and "no-jinxing" front.

She didn't know it but I happened to sit across from my wife on the subway once before I knew her, and she was having a conversation with one of her students and I could just tell she was amazing. I even texted my friend to say "I just saw my soulmate on the train." Eight days later (on Valentine's Day no less) we randomly ended up at the same event nowhere near where I'd first seen her, and even weirder, she was there with her friend who I happened to vaguely know, which was an easy icebreaker. We officially met and the rest is history. I waited about 6 months before I told her about the train thing though. Lol.

I fell down 4 or 5 steps yesterday on my butt and kind of panicked. DH just told me to use the doppler to calm my fears and all is well.
I also feel like toys pregnancy is going way too fast.

Doing ok. I'll syst to get anxious for our a/s after Christmas.

I don't think there is one. I met DH when an old friend dated his old friend and I went with my friend to meet her bfs friends to see if any of them were hot. Spoiler, one was.
@jhysmath, NOOOOOOOOPPPE!!! What is that principal thinking???? And why would the student think you'd work with him privately every day after school? Mommas have stuff to do!
Any appointments coming up? I saw my OB this morning and the heartbeat was good. Anatomy scan is tomorrow at 4:30.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Rant- Yesterday was rough. I posted about it in TW Tuesday. I just hope that the winds die down enough today so that the fires can get under control. Rave- I got to read to DS's class yesterday and I loved it. He was so excited to have me in his class and it was cute. Questions- TMI- any constipation remedies? I am taking colace, fiber, and a probiotic and I am still having issues.
How are you doing? I am okay. I am nervous for the AS tomorrow. But I got my second tri bloodwork back today and all of our risk factors were really low, so that was nice. The air quality isn't helping my bronchitis and I am still throwing up.
GTKY: What chance encounter changed your life forever? Definitely the decision to go to my friend's boyfriend's house party my freshman year of college. My high school boyfriend and I had just broken up because I found out he cheated on me and all I wanted to do was wallow in my dorm room. My friend convinced me to come with her and get drunk. I went and it turned out that DH was there visiting (he was friends with my friend's boyfriend in high school). We stayed up all night talking and we ended up tracking down each other's AIM screen names (yeah... I just dated myself there...) and the rest is history.
@sparklingdiamond I'm glad you have been able to talk to people who have been through CDH. I love the shirt!
@jhysmath can you talk to your union rep? That sounds like a contract violation to me.

How are you doing? Doing good. AS was a relief of good news. I have a friend who just delivered literally this morning at 35 weeks due to complications and a coworker just told me his friend just gave birth on Friday when she went in for kidney stones...nope. I just cannot fathom any of that.
GTKY: What chance encounter changed your life forever? My aunt taught at a school that was a half hour away, but knowing I wanted to be a teacher, got me an interview at the elementary school's summer day camp program. I got the job and met a guy going off to college that summer, just like me, for the exact same career, high school history teacher. Bad news? Guy had a girlfriend and was going to a college an hour and a half away from mine. Great news? Next summer we both came back to the same job, there was no girlfriend, and I peaced out to my then boyfriend to be with DH

@suchaglencoco I was not asked by my principal yet, but I will clearly tell him no and refuse.
@mileswithmyles it won't get that far, I'm pretty good at telling my principal and superintendent when I'm not going to do things and that they're wrong. Super came to the district last year and made the executive decision that I needed to attend AP workshops in the summer and teach AP classes. I currently teach dual enrollment classes where my students get college credit for passing my classes which is better than AP. My principal kept telling me I had to because his boss told him I had to, so I met with the super with a stack of research and stated I will not be doing AP because I'm the only person certified to do dual enrollment in the building and he can go after every other department to teach AP... I got my way.
Eta: @mileswithmyles I just read your tw post! Stay safe out there I was some news clips it looks so scary! I'll take blizzards and -25° for all of February any day over those fires.
I love that all of our chance encounters revolve around our DH or DW. I might be pregnant, but these love stories make me lifetime movie teary eyed.

Rants/Raves/Questions? Rant - family drama that includes my mom having custody of my step-brothers baby for the last 3 months with no end in sight :-(
How are you doing? Dealing with my anxiety which I didn't have last time and learning how my crazy hormones are affecting my patience with DS (20 months)
GTKY: What chance encounter changed your life forever? Probably everything that led up to me meeting DH. Met a girl randomly at a house party who became one of my closest friends, she introduced me to a girlfriend of hers who ended up being my roommate 3ish years later. We went to a rodeo in her home town, did lots of drinking and she gets asked to dance by a guy she's known all her life. She passes me off on him instead and 5 1/2 years later we're married working on kid #2.

@abhphilly I feel the same way, I'm nervous about my AS which isn't until the 21st but I also bought a crib on black friday and feel like this pregnancy has been going so much better. Good luck to us both!

Any appointments coming up?
Had one today with the midwife. Got to hear the heartbeat again. So thankful. I was getting really nervous with not feeling movement for sure so that gives me some peace of mind. So far everything is looking ok!
Next appointment is AS on Dec. 21st.
Rants/Raves/Questions?
Rants - work is brutal. I want to change jobs and another department is trying to recruit me, but I can't leave and then say surprise I'm pregnant and bye now! Ugh. It's going to be a long time until May.
Raves - I'm loving my midwife clinic they are so amazingly nice. I love my prenatal aquafit class. I love my hubby who gave me "just because" flowers for the first time.
Questions....not at the moment.

Pretty good! Symptoms aren't too bad. One day I'll have a bad headache, the next I'll be constipated, the next something else, but overall it could be a lot worse so immediately pretty grateful. Now I'm getting excited to have a bump (although then I'll really have to tell work and colleagues!)
GTKY: What chance encounter changed your life forever?
I met my director (From another area in Canada) when I was a student. He found out months later that I was graduating and offered me a permanent job in 1 of 2 large Canadian cities. I was shocked and I got to pick where. Long story short they basically just gave me a job and even paid for my move across the country. It was so cool and such a lucky opportunity now that I look back on it. And I met my now hubby just 2 years into living here! I never imagined moving away. Ever. But I did and I feel like everything happens for a reason. In this case, many good reasons!
