My father asking me the day we got home from the hospital (a day and a half after I had baby) if I was sure I had the baby because my stomach was still so big. I wanted to punch him in the face. He had 3 kids and should know better.

Why does every single person insist on asking “how are you sleeping”. I have a newborn dumbass, how do you think I’m sleeping?

My FIL keeps making comments about how it’s only a week or two and then he will be sleeping 5-6 hours.
1) no
2) I’m EP and have to pump every 3 hours anyway
i may throat punch him soon

Yes. They ask how I'm sleeping. Like shit, still up every 2 hours and I don't get to "sleep when he sleeps" because by the time he goes down i have to be up soon to get DD from school AND I'm the one keeping the house together.

I was asked why DDs birthday wasn't at our house. Uh, cause he's 2 weeks old, my house is a mess and is rather pay someone to do everything for me this year.
Best is when I'm scrutinized on my messy house, well then, pick something up for me. Or when I'm told I shouldn't be going out, then pick something up for me, help me out.

My FIL is the worst. I actually have a running list of all the horrible things he has said while here, including stories of everything his friends or other kids did wrong with the implication he is waiting for us to do the same. But this was the biggest jaw dropper their second day here

FIL: “so when is he getting his d*^% chopped off”
me: “his circumcision is scheduled for next week” (as polite as possible)
FIL: turns to the baby “your mom is ruthless”

@MaximumEffort I can’t believe people have the nerve to criticize the condition of your house! I think people either forget or have no clue what life is like with a newborn.

@DungeonTrollMel I laughed so hard at your first post on sleeping.

I've been getting comments on we shouldn't let the newborn nap all day so she'll sleep at night. Seriously, she's a newborn, they sleep alot.

@MaximumEffort people havent made comments about my house but i can see the looks they give. thankfully my MIL helps clean up when she comes by and my SIL did my dishes as soon as she walked in the house one day (they had just driven 2 hours to be here!) but i can definitely tell most just think i dont do anything all day because its not sparkling. it still looks like were moving in and weve been here a year lol! but thats what happens when DH doesnt help out either.

i got asked on thanksgiving (6 days after having him) when my stomach would go down...i had already dropped 20+ lbs and thought I looked good for 6 days PP! I was so taken back I got defensive. I also keep getting asked when Im gonna go back to work....when i feel like it! LO still only sleeps like 3 hours at a time at night n Im exhausted, thats the last thing i wanna think about! and my favorite so far has been: when are you gonna have another?! ummmmmmmmm let my vag heal first thanks!
