  • @Miz_Liz I know. He was clearly suffering. I let mom know about 11 am he wasn’t right. When I left at 3, the poor kid was still there looking like hell and whining in pain.

  • +1 to not being into wine. I mean, I want to. It looks relaxing to sit with a glass after a long day. But I've never found one I like. Maybe I need a tasting.
ive always been a beer girl. With a captain/sprite or margarita thrown in here and there.

  • I don't miss drinking that much. But I was only the occasional drinker since graduating. I might have one of the weekend or special occasion, no more than 2 and that's about it. I do miss being able to eat all the seafood I want without restriction. I knew there was certain fish limitations before pregnancy, I was unaware of the amount limitations (12 oz a week). Its hard when you want gumbo, crawfish, and crabs all the time like I do (its not a pg craving that's just me normally).

One this I do miss now that everyone knows about the pg, is I miss being invited to social outings. At least once a week a friend would invite me to weekend brunch (mimosa), or to go to a happy hour, or to just grab dinner. It could be the holidays but my social invitations have completely ceased. Its ok this weekend bc my house still hasn't fully recovered from friendsgiving, and I haven't put up the Christmas tree. Plus I have a paper to write that's due in a week. But once this is over what's a girl to do?

  • @austenista Novels. I like ones with elements of romance but not cheesy chick lit or romance novels. Also mystery or fast-moving plots. Also historical fiction.

  • Ohhhhh I miss wine. And margaritas. GIVE ME ALL THE MARGS!!!!!
  • Oh I miss margaritas! I live near 3 major wine areas so I’ve learned to embrace it even though it gives me a headache after more than one glass. If anyone gets headaches from red wine check out the Ullo filter.

Speaking of alcohol - I’m in a happy hour group with my besties and they are definitely starting to suspect something but I can’t stop going because I LOVE FOOD so I have to tell them next week. I even managed to sneak off and tell the waiter to bring me a virgin drink at the last one (I thought I was being so sly) and I still got the 3rd degree for only having one drink. So good luck to anyone trying to hide pregnancy from their drinking buddies :)
  • I miss the margs! My boyfriend and I loved to go into the city and find new places with different drinks. There's this place in Chicago, Del Toro, and they have their own line of tequila and make about 20 different flavors of margaritas, all on the rocks with fresh muddled ingredients. Cucumber jalapeno, tamarind, fresh strawberry, watermelon, hibiscus. Oh and pineapple, I loved the pineapple one with the rim of chili powder.

I don't miss alcohol on the daily, but I do miss our social experience around it. Wouldn't trade this for the world, but definitely looking forward to having a tipsy night out. Maybe in August after the baby. It's our birthday month and we are 4 days apart.

@ffw0617 I wish I lived somewhere where seafood was more the norm. I dream of going to Maine and eating lobster for all 3 meals while there.

@krashke I am also struggling being as engaged at work. I've got baby on the brain all day. Everything else seems so uninteresting. I enjoy taking care of my patients, but my brain always wanders back to all things baby/pregnancy.

  • @krashke @MoonOverGoldsboro I'll jump in.... We've got a good selection but I'll stick to the traditional brandy(Korbel of course) old fashioned sweet with oranges and maraschino! DH used to live in Orange County, CA and he told me he always saw a billboard for Korbel that said "Korbel- Wisconsin's number 1 brandy" lol :D
  • I actually haven’t missed wine or alcohol that much, which is surprising.
a day late, but I guess my FFFC is that I miss having the occasional cigarette. *TW* after our first loss in may, I picked up the bad habit and I’d have one smoke a day with DH just to calm any anxiety I was feeling/ had been feeling that day. *TW*
i know how bad of a habit it is, and what it does to your body... but they got me through the day & a really hard time in my life and DANG some days I could still really use one.
