@bethann1022 at my baseline I had an AFC of 12, but I always have a variable AFC (has been anywhere from 4 to 16), but the baseline they did I was on estrogen. Also 6??! Thats AMAZING! Congrats!
@2MomsHoping, all of mine were unmeasurably small (well, <10 so they didn't bother measuring). I am hoping its just because I just got off the estrogen. Since I am younger than most doing IVF (I'm 30), they are hoping for 15-20 from me. Also for you, I am glad you have the 4 and FX PGS is normal!
Back from ER with a nice little stitch on my LEFT side now (last ER it was on the right... so now I’m symmetrical hahah)... and they got 18 eggs! Woohoo! Now for couch, TV, snacks and sleep (that 4;30am wake up was NOT fun...) Back on later when I’m now so out of it!

@cmiller73 congrats on the 18, thats a great number! Why did you have to have a stitch again, does it affect your recovery at all? hope for a restful, easy recovery
@2momshoping sorry to hear about your last 2 embryos, but 4 is a great number from 12 eggs originally, especially since 6 fertilized, right? Praying that you get some more normals to add to the one remaining you have frozen. And how are you feeling? I know it's only been two days since your transfer, but so hopeful this one sticks for you!
I will know more of a timeline after my appt tomorrow, but really hoping I can squeeze in an FET this month. I don't believe my clinic closes for holiday break as they are a huge clinic so are open 365 days a year. But there are some factors...once we sign consents tomorrow, we need to wait for RE office to submit to the insurance which I'm hoping will be by end of week, and then it typically just takes a couple days for approval as long as they include all the necessary information. It also needs to be timed with my AF, which I am expecting any day as I started to feel some cramping early this morning. Hoping it holds off for a couple more days to at least give us a chance to possibly catch the auth with a coinciding day 2/3 baseline, but I am guessing it is more likely I will need to go on BCP and may need to stay on it for a couple weeks before my RE will take me off for baseline. Either way, hoping to at least get most of FET prep in December and would love to have a transfer around the holidays to make them a little more hopeful this year.
@bethann1022 no signs or symptoms just yet I've had some cramping but I've had that since starting the progesterone. I thought I might have felt pulling/cramping yesterday afternoon but I think that was more wishful thinking than anything else lol.

@kiwi2628 normal. I had 8 to speak of on the first sono. The menopure pulled up 4 more by the 2 nd sono. I had 14 mature retrieved.
@bethann1022 yay for the fluid loss. I am so glad! You are on your way now to feeling like yourself again!
@2momshoping maybe the timing is right this time and your embies will come back with good results. I thought the embryologist was sort of making a point. They were going to test these so they wanted them to come from a genetically clean environment. But I heard icsi increases birth defects which is also disheartening.
i got my fertilization report and I have 13 fertilized and two that are not fertilizing-yet and 3 that were immature. It’s so interesting what you learn about your reproductive characteristics when you get them all out of you.
@baseballhoney no, we aren’t doing a fresh transfer. I will need a polyp removal then they can transfer any embies that make it after that is taken care of.
@cmiller73 great news! Rest up! Can’t wait to hear your fert report.
@sunnyinatx that’s a great rate! Grow, grow, grow!
@bethann1022 hope you’re able to get a FET in before the new year!
AFM still waiting for my beta on Thursday. I usually don’t test before because I just want to prolong my hope, but I’m considering it. When you test before, when do you guys usually do it? I’m having a little bit of brown spotting today. Not looking good for me and I just want to know already.
Thanks all... we got more than anticipated and that’s encouraging. First time triggering with a full hCG shot and boy did the girls feel twingy, so, yeah, that will keep ‘em growing!
@bethann1022 the stitch this time ( and last) was because they couldn’t stop the bleeding by just applying pressure atone of the puncture points for the retrieval. It shouldn’t impact recovery, but it does hurt a bit more than my first two retrieval’s, and peeing is NOT fun.
So it seems like my next steps are contingent on tomorrow’s report. More than 8 fert: grow out to day 5/6 to biopsy and freeze; less than 8: we move forward with a day 3 fresh transfer like last time. Called doctor and they have a crinone prescription ready to send to my pharmacy for a quick overnight delivery... yay for the chaos of this whole crazy wild ride... feeling good though. Any egg these lil ovaries can mature during the craziness of working a non stop 7 day stretch over Black Friday weekend in retail are bound to be fighters and be ready to keep growing!

@mac627. I don’t test before. I have had slow rising numbers that did not show up on a test before so I don’t do it. Testing before hand is pretty normal. I think you have to use the EPT since the digital requires a higher number to read it.
@cmiller73 Yikes! I don't know how you pulled off an IVF cycle while working retail during the holidays but you're one tough cookie. Congrats on getting 18 eggs! FX for a great fert report! @2MomsHoping Congrats on your 4 frozen embies!!! Hopefully you get a great PGS report for those. And congrats on being PUPO! @sunnyinatx Wohoo! 13 fertilized! Awesome!!! On my last IUI cycle where I overstimulated (10 eggs over 15mm and a bunch more smaller ones) I started drinking a ton of Gatorade and eating salty snacks as soon as I triggered to try to keep OHSS at bay. I was still uncomfortable but thankfully only ended up with mild OHSS. I think I'll preemptively start with the electrolytes and salty stuff again if I get to go through with an IVF cycle. @mac627 Congrats on having 3 frozen blasts!!! @kiwi2628 So I know my cycle was cancelled this month but it wasn't cancelled until after my baseline on CD3. I had an AFC of 18 which made my heart sink. I've never had an AFC lower than 26. I asked the nurse if the estrogen priming had affected my AFC since I thought the point of the priming was to suppress the ovaries but she didn't give me a straight answer. I'm guessing it has something to do with it. I also figured that I wouldn't see as quick a response to the meds (had I started) because of the suppression, so I think what you're experiencing must be normal. On my last IUI cycle I had only 1 leading follie with 2 smaller ones maybe in the running on a Friday morning. When I went back in for monitoring on Monday morning I had 10 possibly mature and a handful of smaller ones pop up too (and this was only on 100 IU of Gonal F) so things can change super quick. FX for a good bunch of follicles at your next appointment @bethann1022 Yay for 6 frozen! And so glad you are feeling better. Hope you can squeeze in a FET by the end of the year! @laurad75 Holy sh*t! That's amazing!!!!!!!! I am so hoping that this one cycle gives you the complete family you and your DH have been wishing and hoping (and fighting!) for during this journey. Wohoo!!!!!!
AFM, I had an exercise stress-test and an ECG yesterday. I should have the results from that within a week. The tests went well and (I'm not a doctor but....) it didn't look like there was anything funky going on on the screen at all (FX!). I spoke with the IVF coordinator yesterday and she said that provided all my tests come back A-OK, I did not lose out on my funding and I can start priming after O and call again on my next CD1 to complete a cycle in December. This means I will be stimming over Christmas with an ER likely the weekend of New Years (my clinic is open 365 days/year) but on the bright side, I had already booked most of that off as vacation so I'll just be able to take it easy and not have to worry about appointments and procedures conflicting with work. I will keep up with checking in on you lovely November ladies, but I'll likely be posting on the December thread if I get the go-ahead.

Hi @mac627 when I have tested early I usually start at 5days
after a 5day transfer, the digi tests require a pretty high HCG to flip so I usually
use the internet cheepies or dollar store ones.
I started testing to help prepare
myself for beta results and it has taken some of the stress off (though none of
the grief). I hope all your worries are
unfounded.
@laurad75 35?!?!?! Holy moly! Congratulations. I hope everything goes amazing on
Saturday. I’m so happy for you guys!

analyzing everything in hopes of signs….Sunday can’t come soon enough.

When I went back in for monitoring on Monday morning I had 10 possibly mature and a handful of smaller ones pop up too (and this was only on 100 IU of Gonal F) so things can change super quick. FX for a good bunch of follicles at your next appointment
@bethann1022 Yay for 6 frozen!

Hi @mac627 when I have tested early I usually start at 5days after a 5day transfer, the digi tests require a pretty high HCG to flip so I usually use the internet cheepies or dollar store ones. I started testing to help prepare myself for beta results and it has taken some of the stress off (though none of the grief). I hope all your worries are unfounded.
@laurad75 35?!?!?! Holy moly! Congratulations. I hope everything goes amazing on Saturday. I’m so happy for you guys!
@tosh24 so glad the test went well and FX you will get your clearance for a December cycle.
@zwink1 congratulations on your 6 frozen embabies J
AFM I’m just waiting for my beta. I think time is standing still and I’m over analyzing everything in hopes of signs….Sunday can’t come soon enough.
