    @Miz_Liz from what I understand!

    ETA: I mean, in that class. They have clinical rotations, etc., where they get real life practice. But to learn the first time... teacher.
  • OMG so not only would that be super awkward doing that on your teacher...but I can’t imagine being the teacher and having X number of rectal/vaginal exams done (and by my students no less!)!!!

  • :D Literally dying over here  :D
  • @doxiemoxie212 lol you just reminded me to trim up before my appt. I’ve kind of let things go wild and forgot about my poor OB. I’m sure she’s seen it all.
  • Hahaha. I’ve had several TV US for PCOS and for my missing IUD before being pregnant and no one ever had me insert it myself.

    Most med schools have patient actors that you do exams on. Typically in small groups- so maybe 4 of you and then the patient. For female exams it was the patient and another actor talking you through it. It’s awkward because you go through SO SLOW, and are often stopped so they can talk to the group, sometimes while your face is right in there or your hand....haha. They tell you not to say anything like “everything looks good”, or “you’re going to feel my hand on your leg”, so as not to be taken the wrong way. Overall an awkward experience, but there really isn’t any other way to learn. I always wondered who these patient actors are and why they do this line of work....
  • Welp there's another reason why I'll never be in the medical field.

  • This thread is gold. Thanks for the giggles today ladies
  • I’m dying.  :D:D

    @doxiemoxie212 I had a anatomy scan late in my 18th week and had to redo it at 20 because they couldn’t see the heart well enough. It gave me enough anxiety that waiting until 20 would be better for me especially if your not waiting until then for the gender.  Also the 16 week is routine but important. Doing it before you leave would give peace of mind as well. Blood pressure and urine is boring but important for if things do get off at any point. And 16 weeks is not to early for things to start as it’s when I started having high blood pressure last time.
  • Whaaaaat @doxiemoxie212 omg that's crazy! Haha!
  • Hi guys! Does anyone have a rec for best fleece lined maternity leggings? I was perusing the interwebs and was shocked at the number of choices. Thanks!

  • hi! I had my NIPT done on 11/20. I was originally scheduled for 11/30 but went in last Monday because I was feeling so shi*** and almost passed out at work and my OB drew me early. Anyways, has anyone else had the Progenity brand of testing? I was reading about it online and the reviews are horrible....mostly regarding billing and their customer service. I'm excited to have had my labs drawn 10 days earlier than originally planned, I assume it'll take at least the full 2 weeks for results because of the holiday, but I'm not super excited to deal with this company. Any input is appreciated!
  • @bearmoons FYI - this is last week's questions thread. Not a huge deal, just don't want a bunch of folks to keep using this one since it's getting lonnnnggg. lol
  • @doxiemoxie212 shoot, I'll try to find the new thread.
  • @doxiemoxie212 - omg that sounds horrifying!
