I'm home and resting now. I'm freaking out a little bit right now because they only got 1 egg out of my R ovary, and that was the one that was looking so promising. It had the larger follicles on it, and we were measuring 11 or 12 large follicles on each ovary. Luckily, my L ovary helped out a bit and gave us 10 more, so we have 11 overall and I am so thankful for that. I'm just really surprised and worried right now for the potential MFI impact on our end number, I was hoping to have more of a buffer I guess. I'm feeling okay for now, probably because they drugged me up a bit before we left as my left side was feeling rough when we were done. I actually think I woke up a bit during the ER. I recall the nurse telling me to take a deep breath a couple of times and feeling sharp pains. I'm not sure if I just woke up or if they did end up having to go through my uterus and the extra jolt from that was enough to rouse me a bit. I'll have to ask my RE about that and what the F happened with my R ovary next time we talk. I was too out of it (and randomly crying for some reason) to ask while we were there.
@zwink1 glad you're home and resting. Hoping the MFI worry is for nothing. @lulu1180 glad to have you back here. I support the change @SkilledSailor yes, we are on the same page. it is so funny how you say "oh I'll never do xyz", and then when you're not successful your thinking/outlook changes @Sailing_Mama IF can create such emotional ambivalence. I hope you're being kind to yourself @BusinessWife hoping to see good news from you on Monday @purplg8r it came out a few years ago and is supposed to help strangers connect/fall in love. It is a series of increasingly personal questions. it is a great way to open up communication. If you google "modern love 36 questions" you should find several links. I think the one we used was from the NY Times. @beachbunnyxo123 your commitment to change is inspiring.

@beachbunnyxo123 wow! I'm super impressed with how much you're sticking to things!!
@zwink1 I'm sorry your R ovary didn't behave but yay for the L one for stepping up!
I talked to the nurse at my RE today about what levels they like to see for the lining (8-10 and mine was 7.16) and estrogen (150 and mine was 139). She said that the numbers could still have increased after the trigger but if looks low next time she'll ask the RE to give me something (I think it was estrogen). She's going to get back to me on anything I can be taking right now to help. I also asked how many IUIs they like to do before moving on to IVF and they said 3. For some reason I have this feeling we're going to have to do IVF but I'm okay with 3 IUI tries.
@zwink1 I am sorry about your R ovary having only one. That is so weird- I wonder if they were a bunch of cysts? But thats bizarre. But yay for leftie! And yay for 11!!!
AFM- Guys. AF came! BW and u/s and signing papers and injection class tomorrow AM!
@sailing_mama *hugs* That is hard. It's perfectly ok to be both happy for her and upset for yourself.
@ndz2018 That's a lot you have going on! FX your H's SA shows improvement tomorrow!
@businesswife Those look like good numbers! So hopeful for you!
@purplg8r Ugh stupid insurance! Oh man, your numbers are so close to what they'd want to see. Glad your nurse is so helpful.
@rallykat14 Would you be able to put in a request for the donor eggs before being ready for FET? I know every clinic is different but the one I applied to be a donor at said that was a possibility.
@shortstack930 Thanks love. Sorry you're feeling out already.
@beachbunnyxo123 Sounds like you're doing a great job with those changes! You should feel proud!
@zwink1 11 is still a great number! When do you speak to your RE next?
@kiwi2628 Yay for AF and the start of IVF! How have your social media posts been going?
@50Wife You and me both with the worrying! I so wish that I could not worry as much. I can understand feeling like the upcoming IVF is surreal. You can do it! One step at a time. Do you need to go to any injection classes or anything else to prep for IVF?
@darkstar42 It's probably usually about 3 days before I start noticing any effects from the progesterone. It doesn't do good things for me. It definitelly makes me feel sadder and more emotional than usual.
@laurad75 I hope the reports from your donor are coming in great now! Did you get an update on the ER date? It's coming up so soon!
@lulu1180 Welcome back! If you can figure out something to not obsess about TTC, let me know!
@Sailing_Mama Hugs. Seeing those you're close to go through pregnancy can be really difficult (or at least it is for me).
@BusinessWife FX so hard for you! I really can't imagine what the wait is like after FET. I would be going absolutely crazy. Are you finding ways to keep busy and distracted?
@rallykat14 That's great you have some profiles picked out. I hope your first pick is still there in April - and if not, there are a few more months, maybe some more options will come up.
@beachbunnyxo123 Great job sticking with your diet! It's challenging to do and I'm still yo-yoing with my diet myself.
@zwink1 You made it through the ER! One giant step closer now! Sorry they didn't get as much out of your right ovary as you expected, but that's great the left one made up for it. Were you scared when you woke up in the middle of the procedure? Or are you in a kind of relaxed state with the anesthesia?
@purplg8r My RE has prescribed estrogen for the last 2 cycles I did because my lining has always been thin. I try to exercise more too, and I've been considering starting acupuncture soon since both can improve blood flow to the uterus.
Diagnosis (If you've been): NIR PCOS
Cycle/CD: month 22/CD doesn't matter
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WT... start treatment
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?) I'm pretty sure I'm starting treatment again on Friday! The joys of not getting AF ever are that you get to decide any random day you want to start treatment again after a break.
How are things going? It's going...
Any questions?
GTKY: What is one thing you absolutely love about yourself? What is one thing you want to/are trying to change? I like that I'm hard working and determined. I get stuff done.
@madspunk Ha! This is my first tww post FET, so I'm by no means an expert. Luckily in a way, I feel like I work a lot, so that does keep my mind off it for the most part, as long as it's somewhat busy. When it slows down of course that's right where my mind goes. Who am I kidding??? It's the first thing on my mind when I smile at each and every client that comes to my window... "I'm pregnant!" Lol
I have also found POAS, about every 12 hours or so, helps keeps the crazy in check a little, for me anyway.... idk. Unless what I'm feeling is fully 100% crazy? Lol. It's definitely a mixed bag and any momentary relief from obsessing about it or temporary giddiness from being convinced it's going to work is quickly replaced by the reality that there's not even a squinter yet so.... :/ bahh.
@SkilledSailor, I should speak to her sometime today after she gets the fert report, so we'll see.
@madspunk, no I was definitely freaking out a bit because it hurt! Thank goodness the nurse anesthetist was fantastic and kept me calm for the little bit that I was awake.
@madspunk I'm a runner so run 3-4 times a week and then try to do a Beachbody workout on the other days. As for accupuncture, I asked my RE about it at our first meeting and she said she thinks it's good for those doing IVF but that she'd rather see me save my money until then (although now that I'll be under my H's insurance in January, I wonder if his covers it)
Sorry guys, I have been so busy and haven't been able to check in. But I had my IVF consult today to make plans. Guys. I almost hung up on him. He was so annoying. If he said "Ohhkkaaaayyy..?" one more time I would have. He just spoke really slowly and explained things over and over and I wanted to be like "dude, I know how this works." But I was polite. Luckily he isn't my doctor, since I am going to a different clinic. He wants William to get some karyotyping done first, and that will determine if we bother with PGS, since the DNAF doesn't show up on PGS unless it's a chromosomal issues causing the fragmentation. So he will do that when we get back from Thanksgiving travels, and it takes two weeks to receive results. The travel team will contact me next week, and they will have all the details about meds. They'll be trying for a pre-auth since they may or may not be covered (they're covered for IUIs, but not IVF, so they are going to "see what we can do"). He did say I look pretty textbooks, since it's all MFI, I should be able to come in CD10, stay for a week (if we skip the PGS and just do fresh) and walk away with an embaby inside. The protocol he recommends is likely to produce ~10 eggs, with an avg. of 4 viable embryos at the end. He also said with the loss history, if we skip PGS he has zero issues transferring one or two, and thinks either way our shot of the first transfer working is about 50%. I had a genetic panel in October that tested for the three biggest concerns (CF, SMA, fragile X), and that has come back. The doc called yesterday and made me an appointment for today to "discuss" so hopefully that isn't bad news.... We will know more about that this afternoon.
All in all, unless something comes back on either genetic tests, I will start my cycle Jan 11, have ER Jan 24, and transfer 1 or 2 fresh embryos on Jan 29.

Fantastic news, @KristoKekerooni! I'm sorry he was annoying, but it sounds like you've got a great plan. FWIW, when we did my carrier screening, my RE's office refused to have the screening agency release results directly to me and required a phone consult to go over them, and it was quick because my results came back negative for everything they tested for. It might just be office policy, so try not to worry. I hope this afternoon's call goes well!
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?) We are waiting for our appointments for testing at the fertility clinic .... finally !
How are things going? Well after nearly 5 weeks we finally have the results of Hs SA. It’s not the detailed version so we don’t know if there are antibodies from the reversal, the morphology or any of that. What we do know is we have 76mil sperm and 70% motility. The doctor ordered a detailed SA for H and testing for me that consists of I don’t know what ....
Any questions? For all of you who have gone for the first appointment at a fertility clinic - what happens ? What should I expect ?
GTKY: What is one thing you absolutely love about yourself? What is one thing you want to/are trying to change? I love how determined I am ! When I get an idea I will work until accomplish it ! What needs improvement is my patience .... in a big way !!
I will be back shortly for comments !!!

@50Wife Best of luck at the consultation. I expect you’ll keep us all posted.
@lulu1180 Girl, nice to see you again ! I feel you on the terrible, horrible people who have babies when we are a group of ladies who have been struggling. Hold your chin up. I really do think wonderful things will happen for us all !
@Sailing_Mama I think it’s only normal you can’t be excited. It stings. I should totally feel like a bad person. My best friend and his wife had a baby and that baby will be a year old next month and I haven’t even laid eyes on the child. They were the people who didn’t want a baby, and cried tears of sadness when they got pregnant so I had a hard time even being around them.
@BusinessWife I have a good feeling for you too !!!! All the fx for you !!!

Hey there, thought I'd update from my visit with my new RE.
I LOVE HIM!
I had already gotten a good feeling from the practice already as they were very communicative (which was the main reason I'm leaving my current RE). Everyone was so so nice, the biggest downfall is the clinic is an hour away, but it's all expressway so it's not too bad.
The new RE (Dr. W) and I met, and he had obviously taken the time to read through our records and get to know our background (another thing former RE - Dr. T - did not do) he went through everything, and then did a TV U/S and said everything looked great (he said I have beautiful ovaries) and was very happy with my AMH and FSH (he said they are practically the same number, which is phenomenal). He said that IVF w ICSI may be down the line, but thought that a few IUIs would be good to do, and is doing a different protocol than Dr. T did, which will get me close to the same spot as IUI #1 but with less visits and less medicine and less $$. He gave me his email address and said to email any time, he checks his email a lot, or call. He gave me a prescription for Clomid to fill at my leisure (probably for next cycle, or for January) and will call in the Gonal F and since I have trigger left over from my first IUI we're just going to use that. So instead of $600 for meds this IUI, it'll be $180. He said that they'll do an SA with the sample for the IUI (he said they check morph as a standard protocol before an IUI - Dr. T's office didn't check it - well they would for an extra $100) That always irked me because that's our issue. Why wouldn't the check it?! Dr. W said that if the morph was still low before the IUI, then he would have DH set up an appointment with their on-staff fertility urologist. Dr. T said that it'd be pointless for DH to see a urologist for morph. Dr. W also said he was very surprised that we haven't gotten another SA since the SA's DH did were 5 months ago, 1 week apart. He's like, I wouldn't be surprised if it was normal next time - he could've just had a virus that made it low last time, and it wouldn't have changed a week apart.
All in all I felt like Dr W cared about our situation, and wanted to get to the bottom of it, as opposed to Dr. T who just said morph sucks go to IVF with ICSI. That may be our end game, but it was nice to here it all put out on the table like that. Dr W even examined me to see if there was something going on with me that may have been missed (he didn't find anything...so far). I just wish I could pick Dr W and his practice up and move them to my city, but it'll be worth the drive to have a doctor that actually cares.
@RVAmom315 Awesome! Your report made me so happy to read! I'm so glad you found a doctor who listens and wants to actually treat you as a person, not a number.
I definitely need to go back and tag later, but all went well at my FET baseline ultrasound today. I'm excited that my doc is having me take Estrace orally instead of as a suppository for now. I'm also happy that the pills are really tiny, since I'm awful at taking medications

@AlohaKumu hahaha! I kwym, I am on those same teeny tiny estrace pills and I'm like, "you're so cute! I like taking you!" Lol. Bit that PIO tho... it's honestly not that bad, it's just not terribly much fun either. Will you be starting that, or suppositories when the time comes?
@BusinessWife Ha ha! Yes, that's totally how I felt when I saw them. They are just little, precious pills. I was hoping I didn't have to do PIO since they gave me boxes of the suppositories, but this morning they said to expect to start the PIO on the 10th. Oh well, you can't win them all.

@SkilledSailor Absolutely an option. If we want to we can have them freeze all embryos instead of a fresh transfer. Which really wouldn't be different than if they were my own eggs since they prefer the frozen transfers anyway.

@Sailing_Mama Yes, it's often really challenging when someone we love gets pregnant. I've been doing a lot better about it lately, especially as I get closer to my FET. However, there are some people IRL who have no tact about how they tell people and I have no patience for them. @50Wife I'll have to check out that series! @ndz2018 I hope all goes well for those sperm that you were able to collect. @BusinessWife I love your "WFBFP" status. Are you using a heating pad for your PIO? @purplg8r I don't have any advice about your O situation, but I can agree that I think most of us are ready for next year to get here already. @rallykat14 I hope all is going well with your research. I know you are in a "holding pattern" for a few months. Are you a "researcher" type? I know I do sooo much better when I can gather information and research, even when I have to wait. @zwink1 I'm so glad that your retrieval and initial fert report went pretty well. That does sound scary to wake up in the middle of the procedure. It must have been quite the jolt for you! @halfanewt I usually just end up going on my desktop if I have to do a lot of tags. It's just too messy for me on mobile and my phone usually glitches midway through. @shortstack930 I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving today and a restful TWW. @kiwi2628 I'm glad they have meds for you during the long weekend! DH and I giggle because I'll say things like, "Hey honey, wanna go home and shoot me up with drugs?" I hope your injection class went well. @beachbunnyxo123 That's awesome that you haven't cheated on your natural focus! I do well 90% of the time, but sometimes I'll have events pop up at the last second. @madspunk I hope your treatment will resume tomorrow as planned. @KristoKekerooni WOW! What a fantastic timeline. I hope everything goes smoothly with the plan to get some good embies for you. @flashley-2 At our first appointment, I started a folder where I could keep notes. I listened and wrote down information at first, but then I started to ask questions about timing and recommendations after. It ended up working pretty well and I could build a list of questions in between visits. @RVAmom315 YAY! Your new RE sounds like a dream come true, and I'm sure he's even more appreciated after your previous doctor. That's fantastic! @laurad75 I'm so happy to hear that all is going well with your donor! I can't wait to hear how things go with the ER.

I do! I microwave it 90 seconds (in the cover), then i fold it over the prepared syringe wile i wait for it to warm up. I stuff the heating pad in my pants after the shot as well, but im sure its not really necessary. Just feels nice. :) and holding it in my hand works just as well to warm the oil. I think thats more important than the heating pad after, but i do it anyway. @AlohaKumu
Thanks for the suggestion, @BusinessWife. We have an electric heating pad that DH got for my ER, so I may try that for the PIO. My belly is already so bruised, so why not just throw my bottom in the mix, too.

<blockquote class="Quote"> <div class="QuoteAuthor"><a href="/profile/purplg8r">purplg8r</a> said:</div> <div class="QuoteText">@AlohaKumu yay for good results!
@BusinessWife what's the difference between suppositories vs the PIO? (Besides the obvious way of taking it)</div> </blockquote> So my understanding is the suppositories are more localized to the lady-parts area, so patients on those don't need to be at such high blood levels? Where if you have PIO injections, that goes straight into the bloodstream, via slow-release oil in the muscular tissue. Different schools of thought on protocol, but my clinic is in the PIO camp, so we do that from five-six days prior to transfer, till week 8, then taper down to suppositories weeks 9 and 10. I have heard of ladies being monitored on suppositories being given PIO to supplement, as well. It all does the same thing, the progesterone supports the pregnancy, just different ways to go about it.
Fun fact: Since you won't ovulate during the (medicated) FET cycle, there's no corpus luteum, which would otherwise, (i.e. in a spontaneous pregnancy), be producing the progesterone the baby needs until the placenta takes over at 10-12 weeks. That's why we have to do all this progesterone supplementation for an ivf pregnancy! Wild, right???
@RVAmom315 Yay! That's such wonderful news. Having a good RE is so pivotal.
@zwink1 I hope those embryos all keep growing strong!
AFM: I'm pretty depressed. My officemate told me that she is pregnant which sent me into quite the spiral (talking to her was really something textbook -- unplanned, so easy, asked me why we did IVF "so soon," ugh it was awful -- and literally while I was still bleeding, like I needed this so soon after a failure). My RE did an endometrial biopsy/scratch on me yesterday to check for inflammation/infection, and with the hope of an improved implantation rate for our December FET. So, we'll see.
I may not be around a ton as I am going through my grief but I appreciate you ladies and I'm wishing you the very best.
@adirat Girl I’ve been thinking about you so much, and am so sorry about your insensitive coworker. She has no right to be questioning you, or throwing her easy pregnancy in your face. We are always here for you no matter what, and are so hopeful for a successful December FET for you
@adirat, I'm sorry you had to have such a shitty conversation while you're still nursing this fresh hurt. Talk about bad timing. I understand not being able to be around, but we are here for you too if you need us.
We've got 2 frozen, and there are 5 more that they're giving one more day to catch up, but only one of those 5 is actually past early blast stage at this point. I'm working on telling myself that my eggs have a track record for slow and steady, and that this is not our MFI causing issues. We'll see what tomorrow brings. 2 is better than 0.
@adirat I am so sorry that you had to deal with that conversation with everything that you are going through. Please know that we are all here for you and how much we are rooting for you for your December FET.
@zwink1 I hope the rest catch up but I’m glad you have at least 2 frozen!

Re: IF Testing and Treatment Week of 11/20
I'm home and resting now.
@lulu1180 glad to have you back here. I support the change
@SkilledSailor yes, we are on the same page. it is so funny how you say "oh I'll never do xyz", and then when you're not successful your thinking/outlook changes
@Sailing_Mama IF can create such emotional ambivalence. I hope you're being kind to yourself
@BusinessWife hoping to see good news from you on Monday
@purplg8r it came out a few years ago and is supposed to help strangers connect/fall in love. It is a series of increasingly personal questions. it is a great way to open up communication. If you google "modern love 36 questions" you should find several links. I think the one we used was from the NY Times.
@beachbunnyxo123 your commitment to change is inspiring.

@darkstar42 yup! We'll do an IUI in January
AFM- Guys. AF came! BW and u/s and signing papers and injection class tomorrow AM!
This is what I would change:
I have also found POAS, about every 12 hours or so, helps keeps the crazy in check a little, for me anyway.... idk. Unless what I'm feeling is fully 100% crazy? Lol. It's definitely a mixed bag and any momentary relief from obsessing about it or temporary giddiness from being convinced it's going to work is quickly replaced by the reality that there's not even a squinter yet so.... :/ bahh.
@RVAmom315 Beta day is 11/27!!!
As for accupuncture, I asked my RE about it at our first meeting and she said she thinks it's good for those doing IVF but that she'd rather see me save my money until then (although now that I'll be under my H's insurance in January, I wonder if his covers it)
So I continue estradiol until saturday, and stimming starts Friday evening!

</blockquote>
So my understanding is the suppositories are more localized to the lady-parts area, so patients on those don't need to be at such high blood levels?
