  • @canucklehead123 we haven't had much snow here (it's all gone now), but it has been SO cold this month. Like January cold... I hope the rest of the winter is mild for both of us!

@MrsMiller8588 - That is the worst! I've done that a couple of times myself, but that was prior to being KU. Lucky I only have a 10 or so minute drive, it all depends on the lights.
@canucklehead123 - Recently haven't been hungry for breakfast, but when I was I wanted eggs!

How far along are you? 6 weeks

How are you feeling? Tired and cold

    Any recent/upcoming appointments? November 28th

Rants/Raves? Rants: I want to stop being cold!! lol.

Questions? Anyone not hungry like at all?

GTKY: Are you usually early or late? Usually early. It was ingrained in my brain a long time ago that if you are early you are on time, if you are on time you are late, if you are late don't even bother showing up.

  • @ajsanders-2 how are you eating your eggs?  Maybe I just need a new egg style... it's sad because pre-pregnancy, eggs were my go to!

  • @canucklehead123 - I make egg muffins on Sunday's and usually put a veggie or some type of protein in them. Those seem to work well for me. Other wise scrambled eggs with cheese!

How are you feeling?  Pretty good.  I don't think most of the fatigue and other symptoms have set in yet.

Any recent/upcoming appointments? I'm going in for my first beta like, now.

Rants/Raves? Warning: lots of rambling ahead.
I'm irrationally afraid of twins.  My lines are DARK for being this early which is similar to my third pregnancy.  We had a vanishing twin with Macy (our angel).  Is it a thing to have a greater chance of ovulating more than one egg with PCOS?  It's so weird that the cycle I was only on Metformin we conceived twins but the three other times on Femara we had singletons.  So I'm kind of freaking out at the possibility of twins since we conceived without meds (yay!) this time.  So I'm nervous to hear what my beta is.  And please don't get me wrong.  I LOVE seeing dark lines on pregnancy tests.  I am so thankful that things seem to be going well so far.  But we just wanted one more baby and to have 4 kids.  The thought of having 5 kids and three kids under 2 scares me.  But we will be fine.  It will be fine lol.  I need to calm down because I'm sure it's just one baby.  Right?

Questions? Not really unless you count the one from my rant above.

GTKY: Are you usually early or late?  Late.  It's terrible.  It's a thing in my family to be late all the time.  It's not intentional and I don't know why I can't get my act together.

  • @SmashJam I didn't say anything when I left TTGP either.  I didn't want to take the chance of people not recognizing who I was since I mostly only participated in the WTO/TWW threads.  Also, you're correct.  Beta numbers won't tell you anything lol.  But if it's really high (which would be great) then I will drive myself even crazier until my first u/s.  I also didn't get any betas done until 5 weeks with that vanishing twin situation.  (And then the numbers were increasing but not doubling).  So it's not like I can compare the two pregnancies anyway.

  • @nimmle It is surprising! Where I am they want to see you first around 8-10 weeks. And no U/S unless they suspect a problem (or you fib). My S didn't know she was having twins until 20 weeks because that was her first US!

  • @MrsMiller8588 that's true.  I need to calm down and just worry about it if it's a reality lol.  FRER's are what I've been using.  I don't temp but was using OPK's and I can tell when I ovulate based on ovulation pain.  So if I am off on my O date I could really only be 1 day off but I don't think I am.  But who knows!

@Sarafuss I found ovulation pain can be kinda unreliable, but combined with the OPKs you should have a pretty good idea. FWIW I tested at 12 dpo (so only one day after you right?) and my lines on FRER were dark. Not darker than the control line, but no where near squinters and I also turned a digi that night. I mean I don't know if that eases your mind at all because who knows maybe I am carrying twins? lol

All that to say - I think FRER is just really sensitive!

  • @SmashJam sounds like you need a new blender!! I must admit, the thought of cold and sweet in the am also makes me feel ill lol.
@safire3 I was quite crampy last week and still have the occasional twinge. My GP said cramping is totally normal during early pregnancy.

  • @safire3 Yay! I am so glad you are here! I was definitely stalking your story and so glad your Irma embabies made it! And that you are here!!! I'm so surprised that the chance of ectopic is higher with IVF! It doesn't even make sense in my brain since it is placed where it needs to be (and doesn't need to travel down the fallopian tubes!). I had a lot of cramping at the beginning and still do to a lesser extent so hopefully everything is just fine! When do you have your first U/S?

Aww thank you @MrsMiller8588. I am so happy we are on the same BMB! And yep my Irma embies did well thank goodness, one in me and 2 on ice :). They will let me know for sure next week I guess but I was told first u/s at about 6 weeks, so likely I have another 2 weeks to wait. For now just hoping this next beta looks good!

*eta I would have never thought there was an increased rate of ectopic with IVF for the same reasons you mentioned but apparently the embryo can migrate after it is placed in the uterus.
  • @MrsMiller8588 I forgot to mention I got a positive digital on the morning of 10dpo also.  My beta came back at 97 today so that's not too crazy and makes me feel better lol. Repeat beta on Saturday.  And @safire3 you're right.  It can vary so much!

    * on mobile so tags later*

How far along are you? 4w

How are you feeling? Tired...but can be from 3:45am alarm abs early work this week

Any recent/upcoming appointments? Dec 13tg is first available dr will see me

Rants/Raves? Super excited! And then it set in that I’m socially out this year for all my favorite festive holidays...gotta look up some good mocktails! Also got the Mayo Clinic guide to healthy pregnancy- great read so far!

Questions? Oatmeal and cheese??? I know all about grits and cheese and that is Amazibg.

GTKY: Are you usually early or late? Early!!

...silly question, are there any notification features that let you know someone tagged you in a post/conversation rather then going back through all threads and re-reading.
also, a friend on the ‘13 group told me the group transitions over to a private Facebook group - anyone know anything about that??
  • @canucklehead123 that savory oatmeal sounds insane...I would add bacon or sausage or something! Yum. @And846 are you on mobile always? Its easier to see teh notification on the desktop or laptop and usually when you click on the notification it sends you to the tag. Or maybe I'm ot just usually super late after the post!
  • @smashjam I’ll have to get on my laptop more :) queen of multitasking, i try to do so many things at once instead of just have a cup of coffee and use the laptop.

Speaking of coffee, i read a cup a day is okay. Anyone else still enjoying their morning cup?
  • @And846 i feel like I'm stalking you because I'm always answering You! But I still drink my morning coffee. I cut myself off at 12 oz!
  • @And846 there are notifications but as far as I know you can’t see them on mobile ( just like you can’t see people’s siggies on mobile). On a laptop or iPad it shows up in the right upper corner of each page in red over something that looks like a globe. This is my first time on a BMB but I have heard of people transitioning to a FB group later on closer to their due dates. That way we get time to really know each other better and there are less people (I assume there are many people in the beginning when everyone is excited but not everyone will stay and participate for the whole 9 months).
  • @SmashJam haha! I feel like I’ve only been replying to you and @nimmle! i can’t wait to hear what you think of La Croix!

@safire3 that makes sense! I’m trying to get to know everyone and get a hang of this, but i feel like all the threads ave the volume of people on them are a wee overwhelming...at times!
  • @And846 Like others said you only get notifications on mobile if you happen to be active at the time someone tags you. Also on coffee - I think the "official" recommendation is staying under 200mg of caffeine. I still have a coffee but I limit myself to one (or two at the most on a bad day). If I remember correctly there is at least one study that showed a higher miscarriage rate when drinking 2+ cups of coffee a day.

Is anyone else annoyed that the ultrasound thread is more comments than ultrasounds? I'm a little overwhelmed with our board so far..

  • I read this post on a pregnancy website I am following about coffee intake, although I am sure everyone asking has read gotten their own info at this point! THought I would share anyway!

    https://www.mamanatural.com/coffee-while-pregnant/ .

The website has more of a "natural" bend but I think they cite references and studies that are definitely legitimate.
  • @MrsMiller8588 - Yes, about the ultrasounds board. I'll keep seeing new post, but most are all comments, which are good, but I am want to see all the little beans!!! lol. Hoping I get one next week at my appointment, but currently unclear if that was in the process.
