My husband and I have started to brainstorm ideas for a baby moon, likely the first week of January if we can plan it in time. I am leaning towards Austin, Texas (mostly because I've heard the food is good down there ).. I'd love to hear from anyone if that would be a good spot to go to. My husband wants to go to Hawaii, but I am admittedly a terrible traveler and hate the idea of a long flight. We will see where we end up going.. I just want a break from the cold Minnesota winters.
We just got back from Maui and had a great trip. Go for it!
@bchalm That's great to hear.. If we decide to go Austin I may reach out to you for suggestions for things to do and places to eat. @julzy So glad you had a great trip to Maui. I keep telling my husband that I'd love it if we could just be there and not have to go through the long flight.. Sounds like it may be worth it though!
@dan0081 Austin does have so much good food! And a quick trip into our "hill country" is very nice and relaxing. Check out Gruene Tx for a day trip if you head down here. Cute shops, adorable little town, and awesome food.
@dan0081 look up the Hyatt lost pines resort. It’s a great resort outside of Austin. We LOVE going there. It has a great lazy river and really pretty hill country scenery.
My boyfriend just recently asked me about how I would feel about going on a cruise! Neither one of us have gone before and luckily we don't get sea sick either... somewhere in the Caribbean and very fast I hope. I'm 17weeks now, so a baby moon will hopefully take place before the 3rd trimester.
@dan0081 try San Antonio instead. I've lived in Austin before and it's okay. The nightlife is what it's known for. San Antonio offers a lot more... I'm a South Texas native and SA is a nice day or weekend trip that I like to take.
First week of December we are going to Paris!!! Wasn’t technically planned as a baby-moon. We discovered a couple years ago that tickets are much cheaper to Paris that week. My family is from there so we can stay for free. It so nice bc most holiday decorations are up but it’s not yet super crowded, so it's easy to enjoy and get tables at great restaurants. I'm going to do most of the baby clothes shopping there (apart from a giant Carter's onesies spluge)...I can't wait!
I just got back from a babymoon in Bermuda. It was "cold" ie 70's, which is a little too cold for beach weather but still way better than the cold spell in DC. It was quiet and relaxing, bordering on boring but I'll stick with "relaxing". Just did some light sightseeing, shopping, eating. There were lots of pregnant women and families there. The best part? Every time I had to pee, it was easy to find an immaculately clean public bathroom. I am trying to see if we can squeeze in an Iceland trip in January.
@rach-j Thanks for the suggestions.. I just did a quick search of Gruene. It looks adorable and seems like it'd be a great place for a day trip! @rmmorris Hyatt Lost Pines looks really nice! I'd love a lazy river.. I'm concerned it wouldn't be open in December.. but either way, I'm sure the weather would feel great! @korpuskhristi My husband suggested San Antonio, but I have already been there. It's been awhile though so I'll have to do some research. I love cruises! We went on a Caribbean cruise through Celebrity Cruises, and it was such a nice time. Lots of relaxation, short sight seeing in the ports, and awesome food. I'd highly suggest it!
