1. How many weeks along are you? How big is baby?
20 weeks! Halfway there, hooray!!

2. How are you feeling lately?
I put this in the randoms thread over the weekend, but the dreaded hemorrhoids hit yesterday. I cannot even describe how uncomfortable I am

3. Any appointments coming up?
Nope, had our anatomy scan this past Friday (which went great!) so I don’t go back until December.

4. Rants, Raves, Questions?
Rave: we’re the weirdos that put up Christmas decorations suuuuper early, and we hung the icicle lights on our front porch yesterday. I freaking love Christmas lights.

5. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Sydney, Australia. I fell in love with it on vacation almost a decade ago, and I cannot wait until I can bring my husband there and show him the city. Great weather, beautiful beaches, amazing food scene, and the giant killer bugs/reptiles that live in the Outback are far, far away!

18 weeks! Size of a sweet potato.

I am actually feeling pretty good! My back hurts every once in a while if I stand up for too long, I think. Haven't had a headache in a few days, which is great.

3. Any appointments coming up?
My anatomy scan is on the 28th! I am very excited to find out the sex, and see bean

Nothing too exciting this week.

5. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I can't think of anywhere I'd really like to LIVE instead of where I live now. I love the mid-west and vacations other places are nice.

@kmalls Oiii... I got hemorrhoids for the first time after DD's birth and lord.... I'm so sorry that you've got them!! Do you typically have them for the rest of the pregnancy?

1. How many weeks along are you? How big is baby? 18 weeks today, my app says green pepper.... I feel like I've been the same size fruit or veggies for about 10 weeks now lol.

2. How are you feeling lately? I feel pretty good. I've got a cold with all the gross mucous drainage and that makes mornings and sleeping rough, but other than that I'm doing well!

3. Any appointments coming up? I have an appointment tomorrow! Biweekly cervical length check... and sex verification.

4. Rants, Raves, Questions? Hmmm I don't think I have anything yet. I need to drink my coffee before the juices really start flowing in my brain.

5. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be? This may sound trite but I'd honestly live right where I am. I've lived all over the US and lived in Europe for a year. Through those experiences I learned that I need to have my family close-ish and I want all four seasons. I get both of those living where I do... but I do sacrifice mountains and oceans... both things to which I'd love to be closer. Can I just have an unlimited vacation time-travel budget instead?! haha

18 weeks! Size of an artichoke or Bell pepper.
2. How are you feeling lately?
Good! I had a lot of energy yesterday and I was able to accomplish a lot around the house which felt really nice. I also got my grocery shopping done for the week and started to pick up a few things for the holidays.
3. Any appointments coming up?
I have my anatomy scan in two weeks.
4. Rants, Raves, Questions?
I was feeling baby girl move around a lot last week but for some reason she has been really tame over the weekend. I honestly haven't felt her much at all and it's kind of been worrying me. Has anyone else noticed that their baby goes through phases like this?
5. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
This is a tough one because I don't feel like I have been to enough places to honestly say. After moving states twice over the past two years I think I'm happy to just stay where I am lol! The idea of living in Washington state or Oregon has always appealed to me because of how beautiful it apparently is there but I have never visited either so who knows!

@kmalls that stinks about your hemorrhoids but I will say you made me twinge a bit when you brought up already decorating for Christmas. LOL I usually don't put any Christmas stuff up until after my birthday which falls usually the first week of December.

1. How many weeks along are you? How big is baby?
20 Weeks!!!!! HALF WAY BABY!!!!!!!! Baby is the size of a B-A-N-A-N-A-(S) <- it's only the size of one but I know you all are singing that song when you read that LOL. Also baby is the size of a red Swingline stapler.

2. How are you feeling lately?
pretty good although I have some cold sores that popped up over the weekend so that stinks seems to always happen when I get chapped lips and I thought I was doing pretty good with keeping my lips moisturized, guess I was wrong. Also I'm so annoyed and the filter that I usually have is gone because I have been just letting it all out when it comes to my annoyance with people.

3. Any appointments coming up?
THURSDAY!!!!! We have our anatomy scan to see our LO and find out the sex! We are having a gender reveal party on Saturday and my mom told me I'm not allowed to tell ANYONE, so you ladies will be the only lucky ones to know before Saturday because I will have to tell someone!

4. Rants, Raves, Questions?
MH is being such a pain about potty training DD. I told him last night to just put underwear over her pull up when he takes her to daycare since he doesn't want to risk an accident happening in his car. And he just said what's the point of putting her in underwear if she is just going to dirty it. Saturday I went to see a movie with my mom (to have a little break cause my nerves have been shot) and I put DD in underwear I told her before I left to let daddy know if she has to potty and she says ok. I get home and she is in different pants because she peed in her underwear. I want to say its partly my fault because every time she says she has to go potty I help her out I really need to get MH to do some of it because clearly she didn't feel like she could tell him. Also his mom came over while I was at the movie and she probably watched DD while MH did some yard work and she is just clueless when it comes to taking care of a toddler. Cause I would really like to have DD potty trained by the time this one comes around. So hopefully that will happen.

5. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I do like where I live now, but I would LOVE to live in New York City

@ladythrice ugh I certainly hope they don’t last the entire pregnancy. I escaped unscathed when pregnant with DS, then got them with DD. It just happened once, but it was so bad I needed my mom to come over for three days in a row because I just couldn’t walk. Once they were gone, though, they were gone. Hopefully this will be the same.

@JJMNO1616 yes in the early stages of movement there are times where I can feel baby a lot then it's pretty mellow, probably because they are still small enough that not every movement can be felt. The further along and less space there is you will feel it pretty consistently.

18 weeks; About 5.5"...size of an artichoke

2. How are you feeling lately?
Pretty good. Really need to get into a neuro about my legs. Skin on my thighs keeps going numb more often now.

3. Any appointments coming up?
Next Tuesday for same as @ladythrice for biweekly cervix check, but also will do my anatomy scan then too.

4. Rants, Raves, Questions?
Nothing really, feeling a little raw lately dealing with MH, but its getting somewhat better and I'm going to counseling, so that helps.
@kmalls I want soooo badly to put up Christmas lights and decorations, but its just not cold here yet and doesn't feel Christmasy.

5. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I don't know where specifically, but a beach for sure. I just prefer a beach that has nice weather during summer months and not scorching hot....wherever that is, that's where I want to be!

@JJMNO1616 definitely don’t worry about feeling consistent movement yet, it’s way too early. I think my OB doesn’t have patients do kick counts until 30 weeks, I think? Right now they’re way too tiny for us to feel everything, plus they sleep A LOT at this stage. You’re all good!

Yes! Way too early. Some women don't even feel kicks at all (me for DS and DD1) until about 20 weeks. Don't stress about it!

Also, how could I forget to chime in on the Christmas decoration discussion!!! @Kmalls, I'm jealous and excited for you lol. @Dumbgurl04 when do you guys decorate?? Growing up it was a 'rule' that Christmas decor didn't go up until after December. And I followed that 'rule' until last year when I realized I'm an adult and I make my own rules lol. So we put up our Christmas tree and decorations before Thanksgiving... then hosted Thanksgiving at our house full of Christmas decor and I LOVED it. Since we're traveling for Thanksgiving this year we might not be able to get our decorations up until after Thanksgiving... but I'm almost willing to do an all-nighter and get that tree out and up! DH may not agree with me

@Ladythrice I don't put my Christmas stuff out until after my birthday on December 5th. Growing up my mom would always wait until after my birthday to decorate because we had a lot of family you would give me a Birthday/Christmas gift so she wanted to at least let my birthday feel a little special. Now she doesn't do this now since I no longer live with here. There has been a few times were we put our Christmas lights out before my birthday because of weather but i'll be damn if that tree goes up before my birthday.

I am having the hardest time remembering to take my prenatal vitamin. I remember to take it for a couple weeks, but then I just forget for a while. I'm glad my food aversions are gone, because I'm getting a lot more vegetables and fruit in my diet now, I'm glad that I'm getting nutrients through my diet when I forget to take my vitamin.
5. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I honestly love where I live! And considering it's a popular Winter tourist destination, I don't think it's too lame that I would live here if I could live anywhere in the world.

Pretty good! Getting a little round ligament pain and things HURT when I sneeze or move the wrong way. I'm feeling baby more and more though!

excited to have that anatomy scan right before we go up north to see my dad's side of the family for our early thanksgiving. I haven't seen anyone since I found out I was pregnant so kind of excited. I'm the baby of the family on that side to the last to have kids, and a lot younger than anyone was.

5. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?

@kmalls I lived in Australia for two years (2015 and 2016) in almost rural Queensland. I freaking LOVE Sydney and would kill to live on Coogee beach. Visited SO many times.

I really, really love living in San Diego. My schooling has taken me to Miami and Australia, but this place is the best. I wouldn't mind living in Sydney or Melbourne though and wish they were closer for frequent visits! I enjoy the open spaces and heaps of gardens that California lacks!

@kmalls Ugh, I don't think I have ever had hemorrhoids but being constipated have caused me my own set of problems so I can imagine.

@Dumbgurl04 It doesn't sound like you DH is taking this potty training thing very seriously. I hope he gets with the program soon because consistency is definitely key!

@scuba_chic I'm so glad to hear you are seeing a counselor now.

@Dumbgurl04 @kmalls @ladythrice Thanks for your feedback! I figured she has just moved to a different position or has been snoozing but it was just weird she went from being kind of wild for a few days to basically nothing. I have felt a few flutters here and there though.

@irenejean I have been the worst about my PNV too! I was better about taking it before I got KU then I have been since actually getting pregnant. My doctor asked me if I have been taking it and I said I have being trying

I have never been good with remembering to take a pill everyday. That was the one reason for why I changed my BC from the pill to the Nuva ring several years ago. I'm the worst!

So I finally got my libido back, and now DH is freaked out about DTD because he's afraid the baby will know what's going on. Um, baby doesn't even know it has feet yet, so I'm pretty sure we're in the clear. So frustrating, but maybe it's karma for making him hold off during first tri.
5. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Back in my hometown in rural northern California. I really, really miss it there.

Re: Christmas decor, I am in the wait till after turkey boat, but I usually put mine up the weekend after Thanksgiving. I went to Target on Friday and stocked up on lights and some new decorations. Can't wait! Before this year we've always lived in fairly small apartments, so I'm excited that we are in a house now and have a lot more space to use!

Good, pregnancy wise. But I tweaked my back yesterday and can barely walk upright today, and my little has a cold and was up twice last night, so I'm grumpy today. After finally getting my baby to sleep through the night, I can't handle the middle of the night wakeups. I'm not ready for an infant!
3. Any appointments coming up?
Regular midwife appt. on Weds, anatomy scan in 2 weeks!

I posted about this on the team green thread, but my resolve to wait on finding out the sex is crumbling. I think it will help me be more ... invested? in this pregnancy. With my first I was so excited, reading the apps every day, buying all the things, etc. - this time around the thought of going through all DD's old clothes and washing toys and setting up a nursery sounds exhausting, hah. It's not that I am not excited, I just have a lot more going on in life this time around. Plus I just want to know!
5. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Internationally, I'd pick Paris or the south of France or Italy. With an endless bank account

Domestically, we just moved last year to our top choice city so I'm happy where I am! I lived in NY for a while and LA for many years and I love them both, but I'm happy with a smaller, less expensive and crowded place at this point.

Lol @ladythrice so much this! I used to wait until the day after thanksgiving to put up decorations, and the last two years we’ve frozen our faces off trying to hang lights in freezing temps. This year we were like “wait, it’s relatively nice out now — why the eff would we wait any longer?” It was so empowering

I will say that we held off on putting up our ridiculous menagerie of light-up lawn ornaments. Those can wait a little bit

@kmalls so sorry about the hemorrhoids already. Can the doctor do anything to make you more comfortable?

@itsrandiyo yay for no headaches!

@JJMNO1616 like others have said its totally normal. My OB told me last Friday it will be normal to feel movement but then not for a few days. But at the same time I know how you feel. My anxiety creeps up and I find myself wanting to feel that movement so bad.

@Dumbgurl04 oof, potty training sounds rough. My DD will be 3 at the very end of January and she has no interest in the potty. She also loves her crib and doesn't want to leave it. I'm to the point that things will happen when they do....at least I hope. I hope for your sanity things start to get better. Scrubbing underwear and cleaning pee floors is exhausting!

@irenejean I'm bad at taking my prenatal vitamins too. I took them so long trying to get pregnant I have no idea why it's so hard now. I try not to worry about it because really prenatal's are most important before you get pregnant unless you currently suffer with iron issues and need that extra boost.

2. How are you feeling lately?  I finally called my doctor and he put me on some heartburn medicine. I have no idea why I waited so long because I feel great now!

3. Any appointments coming up?  I don't have a 'normal' check up until Nov 28th.

4. Rants, Raves, Questions?  My husband has been out of the country. I have no immediate family in the area. All I know is I give mad props to all the single parents out there. I have no idea how they do it all the time. I'm struggling now and its only temporary.

5. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be? I'm not sure. I haven't done too much traveling. All I know is I would love to live somewhere without snow. I like seeing it around Christmas time but I'm done after a week.

@mountainsmama so I totally have a biased comment here... but I totally say FIND OUT! I felt the same way you are feeling now, really unconnected to the pregnancy and definitely thinking of it as a 'pregnancy' rather than a 'baby' when I was pregnant with DD1. I personally feel that knowing she was a she would have helped me. That being said, it was pretty cool finding the sex out at birth... but I'll never do it again

Feeling pretty good! Headaches are subsiding which is a huge relief. I'm also feeling like I'm looking more pregnant and less "full" from a huge meal.

2.5 weeks till my anatomy scan...can't wait!

We're in the process of buying a condo and the stress of it is really getting to me. I just want to be moved in and start a nursery, but I have to be patient (which isn't one of my strong suits).
Anyone here a Smitten Kitchen fan? My mom and I are going to her book signing tonight and I'm STOKED!
5. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I love it here in the Pacific Northwest. I can't think of a place I'd prefer to live (many places on my list for visiting though). We live in a suburb of Seattle and in a perfect world we'd be able to move to a diverse neighborhood in the city.

Chiming in on Christmas decorations: I'm a total scrooge and would be happy with not putting up anything. I'm sure we'll do a tree and stockings when LO is old enough to care.

2. How are you feeling lately?
Felt pretty good all week, even making it to the gym 5 times! But then I called out of work today. Some sort of head cold has me knocked down. The 12hrs of sleep (even with it interrupted a few times by my toddler) were wonderful and just what I needed.

Anatomy scan tomorrow!

Excited to see baby girl in ultrasound tomorrow! Stressed about what to wear this Sunday for family photos. Its going to be cold out there!

5. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I love having all four seasons so it's been ideal living where I grew up, New Jersey, but so damn expensive.

@kmalls I love Christmas and decorating! I usually wait until Thanksgiving weekend but this year we are going to Disney. So maybe the week before? It'll be more difficult doing it on my own climbing up ladders and such. DH uses the "I'm Jewish so I don't know what to do card" even after all these years.

@JJMNO1616 My baby was doing that and now the kicking has definitely picked up.

@Dumbgurl04 Ugh I feel like when we start potty training MH is going to pull the same crap. Like he can't be bothered.

@scuba_chic I just read up on the thread with you describing your hubby's behavior. I'm so sorry you're dealing with that crap. MH and I have had some pretty volatile arguments lately and I'm even ashamed to admit some of it was in front of DD, which makes it so much worse. A big part of it is him taking his anger about his job out on me and me "not caring about it". I can't help but shut him out when we acts that way. Our marriage definitely changed when DD came along.

@mountainsmama With DD, I wanted to be team green but DH really pushed to know. It definitely made it seem more real knowing he or she!

@mispanda The heartburn has been unreal this pregnancy! I think I need to break down and contact the dr.

1. How many weeks along are you? How big is baby? 17 weeks today. A pomegranate! I was just reminiscing when The Bump app said baby was the size of a poppy seed.

2. How are you feeling lately? My appetite has increased exponentially the last few days. I will eat and feel hungry about 45 minutes later. I'm hoping this slows down because there's only so many snacks I want throughout the day. Other than that, just dealing with some back/hip pain and faintness when standing for too long. Other than that.. I've felt fairly normal.

3. Any appointments coming up? First week of December for Level II ultrasound.

5. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be? I really love living in Minnesota and hope to stay here long-term, but I wouldn't mind moving out Portland. If we could live anywhere in the world though.. I'd love to live in Greece. My husband and I went there for our honeymoon, and it was incredible!

Head is stuffy. Just the last day or two I’ve started to feel uncomfortable (sleeping, active, laying on the couch).

Anatomy scan on Thursday!

Nah.

5. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Great question! I started a plan after my son passed that for my 40th, I wanted to live in Italy for 3 or 4 months (not as a tourist, but enjoying the life of a local - difficult since I don’t speak Italian). Then my (now) late H was diagnosed with cancer and the plan got put away. I think I could live there, or anywhere in the world in a semi rural setting. I love open spaces. I’m happy at home in north central Iowa, but winters do suck.

@kmalls Yes!! I am so excited about decorating for Christmas, and now I won't feel so alone getting our decorations out this weekend! No houses in our neighborhood have any decorations out yet, so I'm running that fine line of not wanted people to think we're weird (first winter in our house), and not caring AT ALL because I'm a Christmas freak through and through.

2. How are you feeling lately?
No complaints here. I have been having fairly frequent round ligament pain this time around. I never had it in my last pregnancy, so I was surprised by it. It only happens if I stand up too fast, especially if I was sitting somewhere low to the ground. I get it every time I get out of DHs car, and sometimes getting off the couch.
3. Any appointments coming up?
Not until my u/s on December 8th. I don't know how I'm going to wait another 3 1/2 weeks to see this baby!
4. Rants, Raves, Questions?
Do you ladies have any favorite prenatal workouts? I don't necessarily enjoy working out, but I am working hard to find a half hour to fit it in a few times a week. I found a video on YouTube with a pregnancy workout last night that I actually didn't mind doing. My other problem is when to fit it in. By the time I get DS down to bed in the evening and take care of all the around the house duties, I am wiped! Yesterday I did it right after I got home from work, but then I have the lovely mom guilt because I'm not spending quality time with DS before the madness of dinner time/bed time starts. Morning isn't an option because I already have to wake up at 5:30am after going to bed around 11. Have you found something that works for you?
5. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
We visited Charleston, SC for our honeymoon, and we fell in love with the city. If we could move anywhere, that's where it would be.
