I’ve been binging on “Parenthood” and I can’t stand Lauren Graham’s character or her acting. She does this thing where she stiffens her upper lip and she does it to convey every emotion. I know people are obsessed with Gilmore girls but if her character/acting is anything like Sarah braverman, I probably wouldn’t like that either.

Boring one. I know.

I kind of agree on being cold. You can only take so many clothes off when it's hot!

Mine is just (may sound stupid), but sometimes I swear I know more than some doctors. Like especially when it comes to knowing my own body. Why won't they listen to me??

I don't get the hype behind Chrissy Teigen. I just don't like her that much and it seems like everyone thinks she's the hottest, funniest, realist thing out there.

@sparklingdiamond I agree. I also really hate when doctors treat me like I'm ignorant even with simple topics. I feel like this leads to medical professionals doing things without properly explaining cause they assume I "wouldn't understand."

@lincbeesmom no! I love Lauren Graham. I am a huge Gilmore Girls fan. She's definitely more of a fun/funny character on GG. Parenthood is an emotional rollercoaster. I dislike Monica Potter (Kristina) on that show. I find her character annoying for the most part.

@suchaglencoco oh man. that is a UO! I really love her. Do you follow her on twitter or snapchat? Those are gold. I'm not a fan of her TV show, but her twitter account makes me love her so much with her hilarity and clap backs to others.

Yup. DH had some medical issues last year and we were trying to actually, you know, discuss actual medical issues with the Dr. The Dr. kept trying to pull the scare tactics "You'll die!" Well no. And "It won't make you less of a man!" Um dude, NOT AT ALL THE ISSUE WE'RE TALKING ABOUT.

I agree! My best friend is going through med school and she loves telling me how to raise/take care of my child. I once complained that my doctor made a really reckless recommendation to me and she stood behind the doctor even though she was 100% wrong. She says if I don’t trust my doctor then I should stop going *EYES ROLLED BACK AND GOT STUCK*

I also hate when people blindly follow doctors, although I live in a lower educated area so I can see listening to them if you really don't know.

But when I questioned my doctors reasoning for not getting pregnant due to my weight even though my cycles were regular, a coworker shamed me for thinking I know more than my doctor. No I just want proper care and adequate information.

Yeah, we definitely went over this Dr's head. I get that most of the patients he sees with this condition are significantly older and the treatment he recommended is valid for them, but it is not valid practice for a young, healthy man. We pulled out the medical journals that backed us up and he got pissy which is not a valid reaction.

but overall healthy, I had my doctor check my hormones, cholesterol, blood sugar, BP, and get general blood work done. Everything was normal so my doc was happy to give the go ahead for us trying to conceive, I am 30 so I felt the clock ticking. I hope you are healthy too and sorry your doctor was rude

Since the Gilmore girls is a topic... My UO is that I absolutely hate Gilmore girls, 7th heaven, sex and the city, and chick flicks. I also seriously hate reality tv shows lol. I guess I am just a cynical @$$

@cups4, no. I don't do twitter or instagram, but Buzzfeed CONSTANTLY has "articles" about her and I just don't get the hype. I mean, sometimes she has witty comebacks, but it just seems like she is always trying too hard.

I am obese as well (more obese because I'm shorter and if I was taller it wouldn't be as bad). We had been trying for about 9 months when I decided just to get my foot in the door and get a check up in case we needed to start testing. The doctor wasn't necessarily rude about it but she definitely implied weight could be the issue. I asked how that was if I had no other health issues and normal cycles? She said she "didn't know the exact science behind it" but had seen otherwise healthy obese people conceive after losing weight. Well 2 weeks after that appt I was pregnant. I'm still using that same doctor though because she does treat me well, it was more the coworker saying I don't know better than the doctor so why question her that was rude.

@mileswithmyles agree on Monica Potter. I binged the first six seasons of the show while I was off work after having DD. It was glorious. Many of the characters actually bugged me from time to time but I still love it so much. Same on Gilmore Girls.

Yeah my doctor had warned me that it can take up to a yr for a healthy couple to conceive and to not worry unless I got to that yr mark, then I might have to see a specialist, though weight wasn't a factor in that warning. Lol we conceived that first month. I was advised to be my healthiest self and eat well and exercise which I was already doing but thats about it. I am also short

though my obese ass could still run pretty well before pregnancy. Don't worry hun and I am glad your doctor isn't too bad.

If my doctor was rude about my weight, ever, I'd have a hard time going back. Mine is very accepting of the fact that I am obese, but I am healthy. And she never lectures or makes me feel like a bad mother! Love love love her!!

My UO: I'd rather have sour candy then chocolate. I like chocolate, don't get me wrong, but I ADORE sour patch kids and sour worms and nerds....yummy!!!

@charlestonchew totally agree, I would rather be cold than hot. The thermostat is a battlefield at our house, DH is always cranking it up, I'm always cranking it down and cracking a window open at night. We live in the northern Midwest so it's cold now, and I am enjoying it.

My UO - A friend told me today she loves being pregnant because she knows the baby is safe and protected in there and she doesn't worry, but once her kids are born is when she gets worried, and wishes she could keep them in longer... I am the TOTAL opposite! I worry the entire pregnancy that something will happen and I won't relax until my baby is safe in my arms. I've been worrying all day about RLP. This is my third baby, I should be used to RLP by now.

WIC always tries to diagnose me as being "overweight" because I was 2 pounds over what I was "supposed" to be when I got pregnant. 2 pounds!!!!!!

My UO is that I think going through pregnancy without meds is nuts. Give me all the Tylenol and Colace, please! Birth is a different thing, but to live with pain for 40 weeks? Not a chance.

@mamabird515 awwww, med school babies make me giggle. I remember when my husband felt like he knew it all and then he started clinical rotations and realized he knew jack shit about anything practical. Medicine is so humbling sometimes. Lololol

I feel really lucky that all my docs talk to me like I know what I'm doing just because I'm married to medicine. The occasional time I get someone who doesn't know is maddening. I hate when I'm spoken to like I don't know wtf is going on.

@tacosandvirginmargaritas, I worry ALL.THE.TIME! When pregnant I worry something will happen to the baby, and then after DS was born I was worried about SIDS. I worry less now that DS is older, but things still happen to children (falls, illness, etc.). I try not to think about what can go wrong.

I have raynauds syndrome and being cold is the absolute worst thing ever. I love my hot as hell tropical climate here in Florida. Although I will say that the colder weather here in Vegas with zero humidity has been pretty amazing.

Oh yeah we've been jokingly discussing moving to the desert. I would love to move back to Albuquerque, but it's too far from our families and we rely on them heavily for baby sitting.

Me too! I make my husband take the kids to the doc and come with me when he can because they treat us TOTALLY different. Not that they're disrespectful or anything if they don't know he's in medicine, but they give him way more information and will do extra stuff on the side without charging insurance.

My UO is that I don't like professional maternity photos in the crazy princess flowy dresses. They're pretty and all, but kind of unrealistic looking. And what do you do with it? Do you hang it on your wall? Put it in a book to look at once a year?

No judgement to those who do them- I'm also not sentimental AT ALL. I''m terrible at taking pictures and recording important moments and stuff.

I finally remembered my UO! I was going crazy all day yesterday trying to remember it. So here it is: the whole "Daddy is my first love" and "I found my prince, his name is Daddy" for little girls creeps me out. The type of love a child has for their parents (BOTH of them, not just the dad) is completely different than the love two adults in love feel for each other, and I think it's weird that people compare the two.

I saw an article about a photo shoot for a little girl in a princess dress, and they actually rented a Prince Charming costume for their son/her brother to be in the photo shoot with her. I found it really strange and disturbing. Like, why would you want a picture of your son proposing to your daughter?? Those implications are just too much for me.

I thought it was just me being cynical but even daddy daughter dates or mommy son dates bug me. Sure hang out and have fun and do cool stuff with your kiddo but why imply it's a date? I never hear about daddy son dates. I dunno it's all weird to me.
