13+6, I don't know. A lemon or a peach or something?
What symptoms are you having?
Boobs are still really sore. Headaches have been pretty bad, but Excedrin migraine helps. Nausea is gone, but still have some very slight icky feeling every once in a while.
Rants/Raves:
Rant-Nothing really. Yet. Hahahaha Rave-had an awesome weekend in NJ to visit my sisters, and we went to see Bad Moms Christmas, it was pretty funny. Scheduled my Anatomy Scan for 12/20 (my birthday) so it should be fun to find out the sex that day.

GTKY: (Stolen from another BMB) Tell us about the worst/most awkward/most cringe-worthy date you've ever been on.

Oh, lord. I've had a few, but two stick out in my mind for sure. The first was not terribly bad until the end. We'd met online, had dinner, a few drinks, things were going well. Went back to his place (I know-I was young and stupid) and he got like, legitimately angry when I said that Dave Matthews Band was "just ok". I mean, I liked them in high school, but this guy was obsessed. Posters all over the walls of his living room, etc. Got past that, hanging out on his porch, drinking and talking, and he starts making moves on me. I tell him I have to go, and he got creepy angry real quick that I wasn't putting out the first night. I got out of there fast. We texted a few more times after that, I *think* he apologized, but then we just stopped texting. I was okay with it.

The second one was a guy that I saw in the ER being walked back to his exam room (to be clear, he was not my patient). I mentioned to the nurse taking care of him that I thought he was good looking and she said he happened to be one of her friends from high school and that she would set us up on a date. I agreed, and we spent a few days texting/talking before meeting in person. As soon as he opened the door, I noticed he was not as good looking as I had originally thought, and as a matter of fact he wasn't that good looking at all. We walk out front, and he's driving a Hummer. Ugh. I glance at his license plate and it says "KOTULKN". I'm trying to figure out what it's supposed to say when he says, "Oh it says, Caught you looking. One of my friends did it as a joke." Ok, strike two. Who buys their friend their registration for their car?? We go to dinner and bowling, and we're getting along ok, but I can definitely tell this guy is not date material for me. The last strike is when we see my ex-boyfriend at the bowling alley, and it turns out he and my date are friends. Yep. Strike three. When he drove me back to my apartment, he didn't get out of the car, didn't offer to walk me back to my door, was basically just like, 'see ya.' Could not get out of there fast enough.

What symptoms are you having?
Still slight nausea on and off. Its more like a bad taste in my mouth than actual sickness. Other than that not a lot. A bit of constipation and sore nipples. Some breakouts. Although for like over a month if I sleep any way but on my right side my left leg goes numb.

Just another appointment today. Work being busy and annoying.

I'm a loser and have been with DH since I was 15 so I've never been on a real date or blind date.

How far along are you? What size is baby this week?

13+6! He (or she)'s measuring about 5 days ahead ahead in size, so he's peach sized by now at least.

What symptoms are you having?

I feel like I'm starting to see the second trimester light. I stopped my Diclectin last week (kinda by accident, I forgot to pick up my prescription) and had a bit of rebound nausea over the weekend, but not nearly as bad as before and I don't feel bad today. I'm still sleeping a lot but maybe a little less exhausted than before. The RLP is definitely picking up though.

Rants/Raves:

As a rant , after having done more research I am pretty furious at the health care system for making us believe that if our baby did have Down's, it was practically a terminal diagnosis. When we researched it ourselves we came to the conclusion it was actually pretty manageable. But as a rave I am still just so happy and relieved to finally get our NIPT results back as low risk, because even though we would have loved him or her either way it's nice to rule out some major challenges.

Anyone else having an issue where the bump on desktop won't let you select and copy text? it's annoying when trying to answer check ins, I had to go into mobile to copy it.

When I was too young to know any better I let myself be asked out by a guy I didn't know who met me when I was working at the grocery store. As our first date he took me on a booze cruise their work had won as some sort of safety reward. Let me tell you boys and girls, never ever go on a first date on a boat!! He got incredibly drunk and obnoxious, and because we were in the middle of the damn harbor I couldn't escape. When we finally docked I think he was starting to feel a bit ashamed of himself and tried to give me money so I could cab home (since obviously he could no longer drive me) but I got out of there as fast as possible and thank god never saw him again.

Congestion, still tired but it's getting better, acne, nausea, and headaches have started with a vengeance.
Rants/Raves:
Raves - it's been exciting sharing the news. We told a bunch of friends this weekend along with hubby's grandparents.

Rants - I thought 13 weeks was the start of 2nd trimester so I was disapointed to learn it's not. I'm excited/anxious to get there!! Also, why we do have to wait so long between appointments? I wish I could go every week to check in lol.

I wouldn't even know where to begin. I did a brief stint of online dating years ago and met the weirdest guys ever. Hmmm..

One bad date was a coffee date with a guy who proceeded to throw out about 10 lids saying how they are full of germs before taking one to put on his cup (I hate unnecessary waste), then told me he doesn't use public bathrooms ANYWHERE, including work and holds it the entire day. Weird. Then we heard people on the street singing Oh Canada (I'm in Canada and that is our national anthem) and he got annoyed and said he hated that song! Lol wtf. He was from South Africa, so he doesn't have to love it, but hate?! Needless to say there wasn't a 2nd date.

@sandbar517My anatomy scan is 12/21! Hopefully everything looks good and we can relax in time for the holidays!

@babys_2018 Oh man, that guy sounds interesting. Also, we just started telling people too. We've only told one friend so far. Most will be in a few weeks. I never know how to bring it up. My husband has done all the telling so far ha. (Except for my mom.)

My zits are finally disappearing. I'm so happy. My food aversions have lessened a lot. But holy bloat, batman.

Rants/Raves:
I know this is really dumb and I am not an anti-vaxxer at all, but I got my flu shot today and I am all nervous. The stupid CDC paper really messed with my head. I get the flu shot every year so I am in the group that got the flu shot in the previous flu season and it just makes me nervous about miscarriages. I read all about how the study was likely biased/faulty, but I am still nervous. That article HAD to come out this year.

Hm. I must have blocked them out because I am sure I have been on awkward dates, but I can't think of an absolutely terrible one. One guy I was seeing texted me that he hoped my day was "like soft rain falling on silk." I googled to see if that was a song lyric because it was so random, but nope, he just thought he was a poet. He was a nice guy, but it did not work out.

@silverhope I busted out laughing at the "soft rain falling on silk" comment. Who says shit like that? LOL For the record, I get my flu shot every single year, and got mine the very first day they were offered here at work (I was 8 weeks and didn't think twice about getting it). I'm a nurse, and get a little ragey when people make comments about getting the flu from the flu shot (impossible) or not getting it for some other arbitrary reason. I also now do clinical drug trials for drug companies, so I also get a little annoyed when I see poorly executed and/or reported "studies" like this one.

@charlestonchew that is so adorable that you've been dating since you were 15! When I was 15/16 I had teeeeerrible taste in guys so good job.

@baby_2018I thought first trimester was 13 weeks as well! It seems like everyone has a different idea online. One thing that confuses things is sometimes when books refer to the "14th week" they mean the week that starts with hitting 13 weeks, so it's even more confusing.

@silverhope I hadn't read that CDC paper, oh noooo. Now I'm desperately trying to remember if I got a flu shot last year. Not that it really matters, because since my dad is in chemo I have to get one anyway for his sake if nothing else. Also soft rain falling on silk sounds soggy and horrible and like it would ruin your clothes so wtf.

@sandbar517 ah thank you. I'm glad you are knowledgeable and you also got your flu shot this year. That makes me feel better. I knew I wanted/needed to get it because getting the flu pregnant would be terrible for the baby, but that stupid study just made me paranoid.

Now just have to hope I don't get the flu in the next two weeks. I usually get the shot way earlier in the season.

@thunderberry The study seems to be pretty biased and they had a very small sample size of women who had gotten the flu vaccine two years in a row (I think 14 for the miscarriage group and 4 for the controls out of like 480+ for each group). When I told my husband (who does statistics for a living) about the study, he said, "So what the study is really saying is that no one gets the flu shot."

@silverhope my hubby has also been doing all the "telling". I get kinda nervous/shy when it comes to that part because I hate attention. We told our parents at 11 weeks, siblings at 12 and then grandparent and some friends at 13 weeks (which was this past weekend). I don't think we will do a Facebook post or anything until our 20 week ultrasound, but I haven't actually thought about it or talked to hubby. For now we will just keep telling friends!

@thunderberry lol yeah the way weeks are described just gets more and more confusing instead of less. I'm just going to wait until one of the apps tells me I'm in 2nd trimester haha.

I don't know if I've ever had a flu shot (don't judge me!) But I know lots of people do when they are pregnant so I would just say that worrying doesn't do you any favours and try to not think about it

What symptoms are you having?
I am starving a lot. :'( I can't have sex and am trying to take it easy because of spotting. Doctor isn't worried cuz it's brown and I don't even need a pad, but it seems to happen after sex, walking too much, or a tough bowl movement. I haven't spotted in a couple days now so yay. Just waiting for my 14 week appointment next Tuesday. I am also really pissy. And my pelvis and hips suck.

My patience is zapped. I am stressed out over nothing. The holidays are coming I am a grinch.

@charlestonchew right there with ya! been with my husband since highschool. but, my husband was in the military my senior year and lived in Germany...so being with him didn't stop me from having a shitty platonic senior prom date (see below) lol

@babys_2018 wow.... not even using the restroom at work?! I would never survive.

@thunderberry ugh being trapped and unable to get out of that situation sounds like my worst nightmare!

@silverhope I haven't heard of that study you are talking about. I get flu shot every year and got mine a few weeks ago. I am tempted to not look up said study, because I can't do anything about it now.

What symptoms are you having? All of the symptoms....nausea, vomiting, lack of appetite, major food aversions, headaches, exhaustion, acne, etc. It feels never ending. Waiting for Dr to send in zofran Rx today.

Rants/Raves: I am in a wedding this weekend and it is out of state. Was expecting to feel better by 15 weeks, but it isn't looking likely. Just hoping I can stand up long enough for the ceremony and pictures. I was worried about the dress being too tight, tried it on this morning and its pretty much falling off of my due to my first tri weightloss (down 22lbs as of this AM)...nothing I can do now. Finally found the energy to start baby registry (which honestly, I have made the registry private and am mostly using it as a list for myself so I can narrow down the items I cant)

Any questions this week? None as of right now. Just anxious to not be vomiting every day and to start showing. At last weeks US the tech told me my uterus is tilted back and is still low....so I have a feeling it will be a while before I start showing.

I haven't really been on a lot of dates, most went pretty well. Although for prom my senior year went to dinner and after party with my date, my friend, and her boyfriend. My friend and my date ended up taking ecstasy and being POS all night. It was quite annoying. We found out a week later that she had been cheating on her bf with my date for a few months.

@Kendrajos ah I don’t wanna scare people. CDC still recommends all pregnant ladies get the flu shot. And since you didn’t get the flu shot last year, you aren’t in the cohort that they said had a potential increased risk of miscarriage (those that got the flu shot during the previous season [2010] and the following season during their pregnancy [2011]). The study seems small and not ideally executed, so the results should be taken with a grain (or rather a bowl) of salt.

I am just a paranoid person and wish the study had come out when I wasn’t getting pregnant for the first time and needing a flu shot in early pregnancy. I still chose to get the flu shot even after reading the study and having gotten the shot last year.

Yeah I looked it up and it was a correlation with the vaccine that carried the H1N1 I think but only if you had it before. And it appears to be a small risk so that's good.

Sticky outy nips!! I know, TMI but honestly, it's pretty embarrassing to have that when your the youth pastors wife and it's happening while you are leading worship in front of the entire congregation. Whoops!!

2nd tri baby!!! And I'm getting my first ultrasound today so I'm excited! A bit worried but still excited to see my babe!

So I've been with my husband since I was 15. He was my first real boyfriend, so my most awkward date was with him.

We had been dating for like half a year, and he invited me to his extended family Christmas party. It was aweful. His aunts were fighting and crying and one of them locked herself in a room, they served reheated frozen pizzas and everyone asked me awkward questions because I was the first girlfriend anyone had ever brought to this family Christmas party.

I still married him 5 years later but holy cow was that aweful. We've never gotten together with that extended family ever again, thank God.
