  • @emmasemm way to be positive! I also enjoyed math in high school for a similar reason-solving the problem at the end or FINALLY getting something was really satisfying. I wasn't exceptionally good at it though.

    Month/Cycle: 5/5

CD: 19 (but maybe DPO 1 or 2. No crosshairs yet)

WAYDTGKU: Staring at my chart like its going to magically rearrange to spell the words "you;re knocked up!" also all the acronyms.

R/R: Rave: I talked to my MIL yesterday about my dad. I think just knowing how I feel will help the situation, and she'll at least fake it around him. Rant: She kind of lied and said she LOVED my dad and said she in no way meant to make me feel like I didn't. Except she told MH that she did not like him and hated sharing family time with him, so I know she's lying.

CS/Q:Big temp spike today so I am guessing O was yesterday? I had a postive that was glaring early in the morning, but then  I took one when I got home from writing at 5pm and it was negative-I was out and about for normal testing time. I thought the temp spike made O the day before, but if I put in high temps for the next two days it says today was O. Either way timing wasn't bad! Chart in spoiler if you care to look.

    CS/Q:

GTKY: What was your favourite subject at school when you were a teenager and why? History. The teachers were amazing (although so different, they didn't like each other). One that I had as a junior and senior did a lot of role playing with different things he taught that required research for you to carry out your part right. It was amazing.
  • @therealbitts yay for acupuncture! Also I almost said english was my fave, because I love reading also...but I never liked being told WHAT to read, lol. I'm weird.
  • @emmasemm Fx that those six follies are going to respond to the stims soon! I liked my high school math classes as well, but they were never a favorite. Since then it's been all about statistics.

@therealbitts So glad you get acupuncture today! That always helps me so much.

@SmashJam I'm envious of your good history teachers! I find history very interesting, but I had the world's most boring teachers for it.

@kiwi2628 Morocco is going to be so amazing! How long will you be there? Any particular highlights of the trip that you're looking forward to?

    ------------------------------

    Month/Cycle: 9/9

    CD: 5

    WAYDTGKU: letrozole + IUI

R/R: Still had some hot flashes last night, but I slept better than the night before, and didn't really have headaches. I got a fair amount of work done yesterday, but of course there is more to do today! At least I'm prepped for my classes though. I'm going to call the REs office when they open in an hour to reschedule my monitoring appointment and bug them to prescribe me progesterone for the LP. Fx they just do what I ask!

CS/Q: Still not a lot to see, but interestingly my temp is back down in the normal AF range today.

GTKY: What was your favourite subject at school when you were a teenager and why? Definitely English. I love reading, and I had fabulous English teachers. I also loved Spanish and ceramics.
  • @SmashJam not weird at all! After college, I went to law school, at which point I hated reading. It's only been in the past couple of years that I actually enjoy it again!

@kiwi2628 Morocco?! Wow. That sounds amazing. I love watching foodie / travel shows, and based on what I've seen, Morocco would be on my list! How long will you be there?

@darkstar42 sorry about the hot flashes. Those are no fun. I agree on Spanish as a favorite subject! actually, that was my major in college, so I probably should have put that down... regarding acupuncture, how often do you go? I'm trying to do it once a week to make sure I'm getting the benefit, but that's not always possible.
  • @therealbitts Spanish was my minor in college, but that was just so I could justify studying abroad in Spain. :) I've been going to acupuncture weekly since about mid-August. Clearly it hasn't gotten me ku yet, but it really helps me relax and stay somewhat sane through all of this. My next appointment is Wednesday evening and I can't wait!
  • Month/Cycle: 7/7

    CD: 2

WAYDTGKU: Nothing for a couple of days. Then OPKs, Pom Juice, HSG on Thursday, HIO, Coq10, BBT

R/R: Rant: That hot mess of a staging got even worse. No fault of ours, the lead on the flip messed up but it's pretty annoying. Basically we need to take all the furniture out so they can get it inspected then I need to re-stage it. Not the best start to a Monday. Rave: I see so many of my friends this week for various coffee dates. ..TW* Starting with one who I haven't seen since she announced her pregnancy a few months ago. FX I only cry happy tears. *END TW

    CS/Q: Nope

GTKY: I loved Psychology. I only took it senior year so hopefully this still counts but I loved it so much that I read a college textbook on it for fun then went on to major in it. I actually use it in my business quite a lot.

@emmasemm Oh rooting for your 6 follies so hard! Hopefully they're just pacing themselves so you can get all six!

@therealbitts How are you feeling this morning? I loved (still do) English as well.

    @smashjam Hopefully your MIL follows
through! Also, re: yesterday's thread. That was so wise of you to write about your journey. It sounds like it has helped you! That alone makes it great.

@kiwi2628 OMG So jealous of your Morocco trip! You deserve a nice getaway! That's a unique spot, what made you choose Morocco?

@darkstar42 FX your RE office listens to your requests! Glad the hot flashes are getting better. Don't you teach Psychology now? If I'm remembering correctly, when did you start getting into that subject?
  • @darkstar42 can you believe I majored in Spanish but never got to study abroad? What a waste! I was supposed to go to Venezuela at one point, but the trip got cancelled due to political unrest. It's sad - I feel like my major was useless because I can hardly remember any Spanish. Spain was always my top choice! Maybe one day...

@SkilledSailor much better, thanks! I moped a bit yesterday, but put my big girl undies on today and am trying to get over it. Hope the staging mess isn't too stressful - not a fun way to start the week!
  • @SkilledSailor I do teach psych now! My high school didn't offer many electives, so I didn't get to take it until college. I got hooked when I took a social psych class and I've never left the field! I didn't realize you majored in psych! What were your favorite classes? Of to call the RE now...
@therealbitts That's a bummer that you never got to study abroad! The other country I was considering was Argentina, but their currency collapsed the year I would have gone, so that was not an option! Spain was amazing though. You should totally go! You'll be surprised at home much language comes back to you when you're immersed in it.
  • Morning all! Sorry I kinda P&G'd yesterday but we were preparing for one of our friends to stay for a few days.

@emmasemm FX that things start picking up soon. Hopefully they're just sleepy

@therealbitts I'm glad you enjoy acupuncture. I'm so freaked out by needles I don't think I could do it.

@smashjam Wow that is quite the temp spike. Looks like it was yesterday if the temps stay up. You're timing looks good :). I think mine was yesterday too but my temps seem a little slow, so maybe we'll bee DPO buddies.

@kiwi2628 Wow Morocco! I am so jealous. How long are you going for?

@darkstar42 Glad you slept better :)

@skilledsailor I'm so sorry this staging is getting out of control. Hopefully it can be finished soon.

    AFM -

    Month/Cycle: 4/3

CD: 25 (possibly DPO 1, waiting for crosshairs)

WAYDTGKU: All the acronyms and attempting not to SS.

R/R: Rant - Monday, Rave - Just gotta get through this week and then a whole bunch of time off between going to to KY to deal with my Dad's house and then Thanksgiving.

CS/Q: Looks like my temps are a little sleepy. Definitely going up. I was playing with FF to see at what level they need to be, but apparently I would get my CH for yesterday if they keep going up for 4 days (not the 3). Seems like today's temp is a little low to interpret it in 3.

GTKY: What was your favourite subject at school when you were a teenager and why?

Biology and Music. Weirdly enough I had my Mom as a teacher twice for Bio. Once for regular Bio and then again for AP. Our class was small and I picked up the subject super fast.
  • Month/Cycle:14/14

    CD:32 wfaf

    WAYDTGKU:BBT,CM,OPK,HIO

R/R: H will be away till Friday then on Saturday we go visit his parents at their new house, we also have to take our little dog to the vet the same day to get his annual needles.

    CS/Q:nope

GTKY: What was your favourite subject at school when you were a teenager and why? Home economics I liked cooking and sewing. I made a pairs a short and hair scrunchies.
  • @emmasemm I hope you respond to the stims soon!

@darkstar42 does your insurance cover acupuncture? I've considered looking into it, but my insurance sucks and I don't really want to pay out of pocket. I'm glad you enjoy it!

@kiwi2628 Morocco sounds amazing! I hope you enjoy it!

    Month/Cycle: 3/2

    CD: 11

    WAYDTGKU: The usual

R/R: DST threw me off so much that I went to sleep at 7. So when I woke up in the "Middle of the night" to temp, it was only 10:30 pm. The rest of the night was so bad I never temped again, so that will have to count :grimace: . We also didn't have sex last night and I meant to bring an OPK with me to work, but I forgot. So much fail.

    CS/Q: -

GTKY: What was your favourite subject at school when you were a teenager and why?

History/Social Studies. I always thought it was interesting, even if I didn't have the best teacher. I did have some good ones, though. Of course, I became a Social Studies teacher myself, so that was an easy question!

  • @lalala2004 My insurance covers acupuncture in network, but my provider (who is AMAZING) is unfortunately out of network. It's expensive, but it really helps me manage my stress, so I think it's worth it. DST is messing with me too. I loved not dealing with it when I lived in AZ, but oh well.
  • @lalala2004 ugh, yeah....DST had me all wacky too. I'm so sorry you didn't get a good temp and forgot yoru OPKs today. Is it still pretty early in your cycle for you?
  • Jumping in  :#  Some of this is a repeat from the newbie intro thread.

    Month/Cycle: 2/2

    CD: 3

WAYDTGKU: CBE Monitor - HIO EOD on high days and ED+ on peak days.  PNV, Pre-seed and LOTS of self care (clean eating, guided meditation, journaling, etc.)

R/R: Rant - we are in the process of having our bathrooms remodeled and we are now on week 5 of what was supposed to be a 2-3 week project.  UGH I just want it to be done!  Rave - I'm really looking forward to having pretty new bathrooms, hopefully by the end of this week.

CS/Q:  It's been a few years sine I posted on TTGP.  This whole spoiler feature is new to me and I can't figure out how to do it nor could I find anything in the newbie/guideline posts about it.  Help!

Also, I'm unsure about TFAS and TW.  The board guidelines specifically say TW isn't needed when talking about your kids, but from lurking I'm a little confused about when it's ok to even reference your other LOs.  Am I right that that's only cool in TFAS?  Or is it ok in the other threads as long as you TW?

GTKY: What was your favourite subject at school when you were a teenager and why?  I loved chemistry because we had an amazing chem teacher.  I took one chem class in college and regretted it immediately.

  • @darkstar42 Ooh love social psych! I originally wanted to do child life so I mostly focused on child and family psychology with a little bit of social psychology thrown in. Oh, and I also minored in Spanish and studied in Spain! Where did you study there? How'd the RE call go?

@nimmle How was it having your mom as a teacher?

@kiwi2628 Haha that sounds like how I pick vacation spots too! Makes total sense to me.

@jellybean0110 Welcome! What are you doing to your bathrooms? I love remodels! As for the kids and TW it's generally encouraged to mention them primarily in TFAS, yes.
  • @SkilledSailor particularly awkward when you're 14 years old and it's time for the reproductive cycle. Other than that is was fine.
  • @SkilledSailor Thank you!  Our house was built in 1978 so the bath and shower were one piece nicotine brown inserts  :s  We ripped those out and put in a new tub and shower pan, white subway tile up the walls and around the walls to replace the ugly 1970s wainscoting.  New sinks, counter tops and white marble floor tiles.  We kept the built in vanities but I'm going to paint them really light greige and painting the walls white.  I'll post some pics once they are done but, but this was my Pinterest inspo (still not sure how to spoiler this, sorry!)

Also, thank you for clearing up the TFAS question for me!

@therealbitts @darkstar42 I've been wanting to try acupuncture just for general every day life stress reduction.  I haven't really considered it for TTC.  Do you do it specifically for fertility or is it just something you do to help you relax?  Right now I get a massage once every two weeks and it has chilled me out so much.  I'm thinking of doing something else on the off weeks like acupuncture or maybe cupping.  I'm slightly scared of both though.

  • @jellybean0110 welcome! I'm doing it for fertility. Your acupuncturist will ask you why you're there, and that's what I told her. She asked me all sorts of questions about how long we have been trying, how long my cycles are, etc. I notice that she somewhat changes where and how many needles she uses. I'm assuming that's based on my cycle day? The added benefit is that it's incredibly relaxing. I usually fall asleep after she puts the needles in. I wake up feeling super relaxed. I just wish my insurance covered it!  :p

@princesslockness not sure how it compares to a tattoo, but it's really not bad at all. The pokes aren't slow. It's this super tiny needle and she ever so gently "taps" the back of it and it goes in. Usually I can't feel them after she inserts them (and see comment above - I usually get very relaxed and take a nap). The only place that gives the slightest tinge of pain is on the top of my head, but it goes away. Not sure why that is?

  • @kiwi2628 I am so jealous of your Morocco trip! That should be so fun! That is a very intricate process to narrow down where to go!

@darkstar42 I hope your office doesnt give you a lot of grief about requests/changes.

@SkilledSailor I hope your various coffee dates make up for your rough start to the week. What a pain with the staging!

@Stargazer1lily I was so bad at home ec in school. It was the first special i dropped in 7th grade when we got choices. Making shorts is pretty cool!

@nimmle yay for DPO buddies! we can keep each other from testing/commiserate when we inevitably give in!

@jellybean0110 I love that inspiration! I can't wait to see your pics!

@princesslockness good luck driving your bus! That does NOT sound like fun, but the sleepover does!
  • This is my first WTO post so I hope it do it right!

I saw alot of old friends from college so I guess we decided to try and relive our college days, blah I need advil and a two day hibernation. Rave: H has the day off and is grocery shopping and cleaning our place so I dont have to, score!

    CS/Q: None currently.

GTKY: What was your favourite subject at school when you were a teenager and why? I really liked English class in high school as I have always liked to write, even if I wasn't the greatest at it.

  • @princesslockness I love the adult party & sleep over idea. Sounds like something my girlfriends would enjoy!

@jellybean0110 I hope the remodel finishes soon! My husband and I did redid two bathrooms last spring. It seems like it took forever! But it was SO worth it in the end.

@therealbitts How long have you been doing acupuncture? I have always been curious about it?

  • @therealbitts Awesome!  I might just give it a try.  I'm naturally high strung so I'm all for anything that will help me relax.  And if there are fertility benefits to boot - win/win!

@SmashJam Thank you!  It won't look quite that awesome but it's going to be 1000x better than before.  The last estimate they gave me was completion by this Friday.  We'll see...  I'll share pics as soon as it's all done :)

@kobrien827 Since turning 30 I get the WORST hangovers.  And I never learn my lesson either.  Just a couple of glasses of wine and I need like 4 advil and at least 8 hours of sleep or I feel like crap the next day.  I miss the days of closing down the bar on a weeknight, drinking a gatorade before heading in to work at 8am and having a productive day.

@MicahDahn I'm really looking forward to it.  We are gaining almost 2 feet in width to our master shower so that's a big deal for us, especially my H who is tall.  What did you do to your bathrooms?  Pics?

  • @nimmle How is your dad doing? Are you going down there again soon?

@kiwi2628 Riding a camel sounds amazing! You are going to have such an awesome trip. :)

@Stargazer1lily Home economics wasn’t taught at my high school. I wish I’d had a sewing class though! I’d really like to be able to make at least simple clothing. My mom taught me a bit as a kid, but I’m not sure I could do it anymore.

@jellybean0110 Fx that your bathrooms turn out beautifully! The inspiration pic is gorgeous. As @SkilledSailor said, the main thing with mentioning kids is to think about your audience. It can be hard for those of us with IF or who have been trying for a while to see kids mentioned frequently on the dailies. I do acupuncture specifically for fertility (or rather my lack thereof).

@SkilledSailor Are we college twins? My area in social psych is prejudice and stereotyping. In college I studied in Seville for a semester and LOVED it. Such a beautiful city. I’ve been back once to visit since then, but I’d love to take MH. Where in Spain did you study? The RE call went pretty well. The nurse ordered the progesterone prescription and moved my monitoring to cd 11, instead of cd 12. She wouldn’t move it any earlier than that, but oh well. Hopefully it’ll be good enough!

@princesslockness Ceramics was tons of fun! I can take classes at the college I teach at for free, so I’m thinking of signing up for ceramics at some point, just to get back into it. Your sleepover sounds awesome! Also, acupuncture doesn’t hurt at all. You don’t feel most of the needles going in, and the few that you do hurt for about a second and then not at all. As @therealbitts said, it’s incredibly relaxing.

@therealbitts The one on the top of my head hurts too! And some of the ones on my neck, but that’s because I have neck problems.

@MicahDahn I think it’s the sign of a good teacher if students feel like they can speak up and share opinions without being wrong. :) Sounds like you had great literature classes!

@SmashJam I’m an academic, so no one cares when I’m in my office as long as I get my work done. The only issue would be if my IUI had to be scheduled during one of my class times, but I could either cancel class or get a colleague to cover for me.

**tw for mention of possible abortion**

Someone just told me today that she got ku accidentally, and is not sure if she wants to keep it. Of course I 100% respect her decision, whatever it is, but it’s hard to hear when I’m working so hard and so unsuccessfully to get ku.
  • @darkstar42 **TW** Unfortunately he passed a few weeks ago. I'm heading down there on Saturday to deal with the house.
  • @jellybean0110 I know right! Cant we go back to waking up without feeling like crap the next day? Ive always wondered if those hangover pills you take when you start drinking actually work  :D

@dukestar5 Maybe 5 legal drinkers and 5 not legal/non drinkers. We are planning to be at her house, and each family grab a new movie. We have our two VUDU accounts and Netflix/Hulu stuff. It should be a super fun thing to do to relax into our Christmas Break.
I have been a Mixologist during college, and we have several Bartender's Bibles, so we will each grab a couple different types of alcohol - or maybe we'll just make a budget and go grab stuff together. Order/pick up Pizza/Chinese, and just let all the stress of the school year out.
