R/R: rave: DH is making eggs and bacon for us!! Rant: I really want to take MIL to this cute neighbourhood for shopping/window shopping today but it's -15 outside so DH doesn't want to (and I mean, when it comes down to it, I don't either lol).
CS/Q: None
GTKY: Stolen from WTO: If you could make anything an Olympic Sport and take home the gold, what would it be? The sport of procrastinating until the last minute, but then succeeding brilliantly at the task against all odds, at the expense of my sanity...
@elolin thanks for getting things started this morning - it's so quiet on the TWW front, but the WTO thread has kicked off already!
Month/Cycle: 8/13 (5 benched - although I think NTNP may be a better description of those months now that I think of it)
CD/DPO: 25/8
Typical LP Length: 11-14?
Timing: -5,-4,-3,-2,0,+1
Testing: I will not POAS at 8dpo. I will not POAS at 8dpo. I will not POAS at 8dpo.
R/R: Rant: Sunday. That means work week chores and dread. Rave: Got the preliminary Christmas stuff up and feeling festive!
CS/Q: Temp is back up again. Chart in Spoiler.
GTKY: Stolen from WTO: If you could make anything an Olympic Sport and take home the gold, what would it be? Sleeping - when I'm not suffering from insomnia (which is fairly often) I can sleep for about 10-11 hours a night! Also, I'm lazy so I totally feel sleeping would make a good sport!
R/R: DH and I got a Pur faucet mounted filter installed in the kitchen yesterday. Really happy about it. We already used a Brita pitcher but this filters out much more contaminates found in tap water. I’ve been trying to be more natural with our lifestyle for several years. Annoys me how much effort and research it takes but oh well.
CS/Q: Got my CHs today. I’m really glad that I used OPKs again this month. I feel like they’re backing up what I’m seeing with CM. FF friend seems to favor temp data and I’m suspecting got my O off a bit the first few months.
GTKY: Not sure? Research? I’m a Librarian and once on the hunt generally jump down the rabbit hole.
@canucklehead123 I cant say that I blame YH for not wanting to go out in that lol, I am not ready for that kinda cold yet.
@elolin I suffer from insomnia too. It bites. I tend to wake up with song lyrics on repeat in my head, drives me nuts. Yay for Christmas stuff!!
Month/Cycle: 5/5
CD/DPO: 27/13
Typical LP Length:14-16
Timing: -1, O
Testing: Waiting until Tuesday
R/R: Lazy Sunday, although have some things I need to get motivated to get out and get done. It is chilly out there though and not sure if I want to spend more time out than really necessary.
CS/Q:
GTKY: Does staring at my chart and expecting something magical to happen count? Puppy cuddles and managing to get distracted by the bump.
@canucklehead123 -15?! I hope you mean Celsius not Fahrenheit. @elolin I’ve been hearing of more people putting Christmas stuff up right after Halloween. I just don’t have a ton of love for Christmas so my stuff will go up in December.
@canucklehead123 I know! The TWW has been much slower this week! @jaylii I definitely feel like adding in OPKs helped for us - I'm also pretty sure I was off on O days for a few months. Also - how can you not love Christmas?! It is definitely my favourite holiday - it's so magical with all the snow and lights! @nitnat007 Yes - I wake up and start making lists of things that need doing. I keep a notepad beside my bed now just for that purpose. I definitely think chart willing could be a sport!
So I caved and tested and as I expected it was a BFN. I think I am done temping once O has been confirmed. It is too depressing to be hopeful but then be let down. Sigh
@elolin Sorry that this answer about Christmas is going to be a bummer. I really like Thanksgiving. It feels so much simpler to me. Gather family for a meal, relax, enjoy time together. The Christmas season stresses me out because of so many expectations (my parents/in laws all want us with them (they live far away), always a trip to a different state in the beginning of Dec to see part of MH extended family, Christmas cards, people generally expecting me to be happy etc). Christmas also feels like it has become so materialistic. So, yeah, it stresses me out and also often makes me feel sad. I know I'm not alone in this and the holidays are hard on a lot of people. Glad many people love Christmas, but it's not my thing. MH has jokingly called the grinch in the past.
*Lurking from WTO* @nitnat007 I'm so sorry for the BFN. That really sucks especially with such a great looking chart. Big hugs to you. @canucklehead123 Hope you stayed warm today! @elolin Have you found anything that helps with your insomnia? DH suffers from insomnia pretty frequently. I got him some melatonin to see if it would help, but he seems to not really like having to take pills for it. @jaylii I loooove Christmas, but I totally get what you mean. It's gotten pretty materialistic and it sucks feeling stressed out trying to find gifts when that kind of defeats the whole purpose of giving gifts for the fun of it!
@nitnat007 I caved today as well. I'm only 8dpo so I know it's way too early but I apparently like to torture myself with seeing the BFNs. @jaylii That makes sense. Our Christmas season tends to be super relaxed - we alternate years between my family (who are about an 8 hour drive away) and DH's family. And we've stopped exchanging presents with everyone except parents and the little kids so definitely less pressure there as well - I definitely don't agree with how overboard some people go nowadays because it does take the focus off the family and coming together piece. And for us it's really the one holiday where all our family makes it a priority to come together! @offtoneverland I've tried melatonin as I know a few people who swear by it but it didn't do a lot for me. For the most part mine goes in waves so sometimes I sleep awesome but when I'm not I often just accept I'll be up in the middle of the night for a few hours and I use that time to do work, etc so I'm at least productive. If it's been a really long time since I've gotten a decent sleep I will take zzzQuil as I do find that generally knocks me right out!
@elolin DH is the same way! He goes through these cycles where he just can't sleep at all. He seems to be like you in that he just accepts that he'll be awake for several hours. I find it pretty frustrating because it usually means that he'll be way too tired during the day to take care of things, so he ends up lying around and being in the way all the time. Glad to hear he's not the only one who's like that though. I think I just need to accept it more and not let it bother me like it does!
