  • Thanks for the tips ladies! I am going to give that a try tonight! Last time, the nausea was debilitating and I was on metoclopramide. But then I had a loss a few weeks later. So I'm still nervous with every symptom.

The no sleeping has got to give! I remember the older ladies in my family used to say you become a restless sleeper during pregnancy to prepare for late night feedings. I know it is an old wive's tale, but I still talk to the baby sometimes when I wake up to amuse myself (when I'm not crying lol). Okay baby, I get it, I'm up!

  • Yes you want the Doxylamine Scored Tabs.
  • @doxiemoxie212 I had the sleep gels. It was the wrong antihistamine. But the tablet I have is the correct one. Doxylamine succinate. It is what is in Nyquil. I have no tolerance to Nyquil (which is wonderful when sick) and go into a coma.  So I figured the full tablet of Unisom would have done the same. I definitely will try breaking it down.

  • I’m irritable AF today. Still needing daily naps. Nauseous too on and off, but feeling guilty complaining about that since I’m not throwing up like some of y’all. Hugs on that.

  • Same for the getting winded...that also happens because of all of the extra blood we are producing and how much harder our hearts have to work to pump it.
  • Remember when I broke blood vessels on my face by my eyes puking last night. Uggh..
We are so excited to grow our family!

  • Re: nausea and pills.

I need the OTC version I guess. Just paid $40 for 10 pills of Diclegis. I was desperate.

  • @basemodel YES I am so cold. Told DH it is going to be a long winter fighting over the heat temp. in the house!

  • I am glad to see people are having success with Diclegis.  I am going to take mine tonight and FX for a better tomorrow.
  • Nausea has still been bad but I have found taking my prenatal before bed helps. First Tri fatigue is in full swing right now and I think my almost 2 year old is going through a sleep regression. This all equals one tired mama! The lack of sleep is making me very forgetful but thank goodness my DH is trying to help me as much as possible!

Anyone else getting headaches in the afternoon/evening? Dealing with these and nausea is trying... argh. also anyone still have cramps on and off? I’m 8weeks and I’m not sure if it’s from the progesterone or what.

My OB put me on Diclegis and today for the first time in well over a week I was actually able to eat more than 2 bites of something. I didn't have that "I'm pretty sure I'm going to throw up any minute" nausea all day. BUT I was also so tired it was a huge struggle to care for my son. Because of how tired it made me I'm honestly scared to take it again. On the other hand I can't go on indefinitely not being able to eat or drink anything. So to answer your question as to whether or not it makes you groggy: I'm checking the "it makes me groggy AF" box. I also just took 2 before bed and skipped the morning dose. :open_mouth:

  • Other than some light on/off cramping and slightly sore nips (that seems to fluctuate also), I've been feeling mostly like a tired and slightly more emotional version of my normal self.

Other than that: had a headache yesterday, so on board with that. Also, +1 to feeling all the cold! Two nights ago was terrible, I had to unearth the heavy comforter just to be able to sleep.

Had another sleepgasm that woke me up this morning. That makes three in the past two weeks. :s

  • @silvergreen Sleepgasm??!

I think general irrability has kicked in. I just have no patience this morning. Also, fantasized about punching at least 30 people in the back of the head when I was walking home from work last night. That’s probably twice as many as normal! I swear, people don’t know how to walk....geezus.

  • I got a headache yesterday / two days ago that I can't get to go away. I'm hesitant to take too much tylenol but it got to the point at 2 am that I had too.  The headache + nausea + exhaustion is a terrible mix.
  • @LaceyBee522 - We can be irritable together. I have zero patience. I called in to work because yesterday was seriously putting me on the verge of blowing up on someone, and blamed it on my throat being sore and SS being sick (spoiler alert: he's not at all). *shrug*

But my brother brought us home a box of candy that my niece is selling for dance, and I fully intend to eat my feelings today and hope that chocolate releases enough endorphins that I can be nice when I go to the store later.

My sympathy is definitely with those who are suffering from headaches/migraines on top of nausea and fatigue (looking at you @marcus7676). I couldn't imagine being like this and also having a headache. *hugs*

My last pregnancy I had vision altering migraines. Auras were everytime, but sometimes my vision would be so fuzzy Id be blind for up to 6 hours. I would bomit from the headaches alone. That didnt start until second trimester though. Hoping to skip that this time. Ot was one of the indicators of pre e.

The diclectin has stopped working for me and now it is just like being really heavy and groggy on top of the nausea and vomitting. =(
  • Hi mommas!

My first time joining in on the boards, would love to get to know you ladies!

im 7+2 and feeling pretty good. This is baby number two and this pregnancy so far feels pretty different. My first was 6 years ago, she will be 7 when the baby is born. When pregnant with her I was insanely sick from so early, week 4 up until probably 20. This time I can count on one hand how many times I've just felt slightly queezy, but no real sickness yet! Trying to feel #blessed about this and not worried! Aside from sickness, I've just been absolutely exhausted all the time, my boob feel massive and sore (hubs loves that they've tripled in size, of course), and just starving all the time.

Patiently impatiently waiting my first US in 2 weeks.

Love all the chat on masks. My absolute favourite sheet masks are from a brand called Maskarade. They are hydrating and lightly scented and sooooo good. Sephora sells I'm pretty sure... I just get them from a gf who is a makeup artist.

    Take care mommas!

  • Very crampy today ladies at 8+3. Still makes me worried.
  • @LaceyBee522 that sounds like a recipe for projectile vomit :-/
  • Thanks @izza2 .  This pregnancy has been rough on me.  I'll take one symptom, but all three suck.
  • @LaceyBee522 Yeah. I'm having wet dreams, essentially.

  • @tudalu2516 Make sure you're drinking plenty of fluids. Also, if you're able to, you can try laying on your left side.

  • Anyone else having some insane watery CM?

@silvergreen I have to go back and see how far along you are. That is a symptom I think I'm cool with. :)

  • @silvergreen So, something to look forward to! Lol! My husband is going to crack up if/when this happens!!
    Pregnancy Ticker
  • @silvergreen I've had a few "wet dreams" since becoming pregnant, but I think it's partially because I sleep with a body pillow (always have), and I think I hump it in the night sometimes lol.

Fun fact: when we were TTC, I think the first month we were trying, we had sex like every day for 15 days or something ridiculous and terrible, like even DH was like, ugh I am so tired, this sucks. But then as soon as I ovulated we were like ENOUGH NO MORE, and we wouldn't bang for a while, and DH wouldn't even feel any urge to have solo time, so...... he started having wet dreams! lol I died laughing. His body got used to the frequency and did not feel the same way his mind did about it. lol lol lol
  • @doxiemoxie212 OMG, that's GREAT! Hahaha, poor guy!!! Mine is moping around about not getting enough loving, so I know I should be trying to make the effort in other ways.

Oh! And do you have any recommendations for body pillows? Ever since I got my BFP I've been trying to train myself to sleep on my side, so I think it'll help. :)
    BabyFruit Ticker
  • @silvergreen uhhhhh I got my body pillow when I was 7-years-old.... so... I do not know the brand.... lol lol lol (and yes, he is a he, and yes he is probably disgusting because no, I haven't washed him -- I mean, I've washed his cover, but not he himself :))
  • I did not anticipate the weirdness that happens to the lady bits. I would panic and think I was bleeding and run to the bathroom. Started reading about what I was finding and found it was common. Learnin new things about my body every day.

  • Yes to loads of watery CM. I'm a gusher over here.

I tried all the fancy pregnancy pillows and ended up preferring a plain ole normal body pillow. I just ordered some reasonably priced one off Amazon. I needed something I could hug with both my legs and arms, but I didn't need something wrapping all around me like that GD Snoogle.

  • Yep, last pregnancy I had one of those crazy snoogle things where it was cradling you from both sides. I felt like I was fighting it while trying to sleep. It won and went back to amazon. Regular body pillow is where it’s at.

  • I'm sitting here with what feels like a mild contraction. I had these last week and called the doctors office and the nurse told me not to worry. It just feels like an intense tightening. Others experiencing this?
  • @katie121209 I've felt some pretty intense tightening in my pelvic area a few times so far.. they definitely freaked me out but I just chalk it up to my growing uterus
