@arteduc8 My dream is to open an Etsy shop and sell art I make. That's so cool you sell your photographs online. Also, I have IT band issues too I was signed up for the NYC Marathon in 2015 and 2016, but I had to forfeit my bib because my IT band kept seizing up. I got up to 16 miles and then it started attacking me at like 4 miles. Physical therapy didn't seem to help, but I maybe never went long enough.
Etsy makes it really easy to run a shop. I get my photos printed on demand when someone orders one, so I didn't have to invest a lot up front on inventory. I did pretty well when I started out, but I stopped putting a lot of time into new listings and such when my DD was born which slowed traffic to my shop. Someday I'll put more time into it. What kind of art do you make?
IT band issues are the worst. Mine got so bad that it was pulling my fibula out of place and in turn causing foot issues. Also caused lower back pain as well. I did physical therapy too, but results were nonlasting. I found regular chiropractor visits have helped me a lot, but running seems to be out of the question for me. Such a bummer that you had to give up your spot in the marathon! And after training so much I'm sure it was a huge disappointment. But always better to listen to your body.
@arteduc8 I don't really make art right now (I just draw and try hand lettering for fun). I'm not good enough to sell anything. That is part of my problem in not opening a shop ha. I follow a lot of bloggers that have Etsy shops (one draws handmade cards and one makes plush decorative animals), so it's just a lofty dream of mine.
And wow, I didn't even realize your IT band could impact your foot as well. That sounds awful.
There isn't much that I can say that hasn't already been said.
1. I have generalised anxiety disorder, diagnosed at 16. However until I had my son, I was an adrenalin junkie. I used to work at a place that painted small airplanes, customers and my boss would take me up flying and let me fly a bit. I got to go up in a stunt plane. Barrel rolls and flips and free falls. I am also a certified scuba diver, I have gone sky diving, cliff jumping and loved snowboarding. I can't imagine doing any of that now because of having my son. Looking back, I don't even understand how I was able to do all that, I think the adrenalin helped me to act instead of think.
2. My grandparents were semi truck drivers and I used to travel around the country with them in the summer, I have been to 42 US states and Canada.
3. I am dyslexic yet most people have no idea, I love to read now. I couldn't read until I was in the 5th grade, after the 4th. I was taken out of school and homeschooled. I absolutely hated that. I still can't spell well and rely on autocorrect more than I wish to admit.
@mrt723 - I LOVE Hanson too!! I once flew to Milwaukee to see them because their song Man from Milwaukee. I felt like it was the perfect place to see them in concert for the first time.
1. I have a weird obsession with locking doors. I will check my door multiple times to make sure it's locked and have to beep my car to prove to myself it's locked.
2. I love boy bands still even though I'm an old lady now. *NSYNC, Backstreet Boys, Hanson, 98 and one direction.
3. I loved drama in high school. I was in pretty much every play and even one musical. I have not done any since then and I miss it. I just don't have the time to devote to it.

My parents pulled us after my third grade year. I'm good at reading, but when it comes to math I can barely function. I failed the introductory math course at community college three semesters in a row while making A's in my other courses. That was humiliating.

I feel ya hun!!! I am not sure how I passed algebra. The letter and number combos still don't make sense to me. SO helps our 1st grade son with his math homework, i can do it but I get frustrated and it doesn't help him for mommy to be frustrated. Were you able to pass the math class or get into a different one? Don't be ashamed. It happens to the best of us.
@allie89xoxo sleep is my passion, too! Anytime we do a couples questionnaire my husband’s answer for me as far as, “what does your wife love to do most in the world?”, etc the answer is “sleep!”
@glitzandglitter me, too! They aren’t just boy bands, they’re THE boy bands!
1. This is less about me, but I got to go along for most of it so here goes: In 2010 DH won a Yahoo.com contest, the grand prize being 16 trips anywhere in the world for 4 years, so for 4 years we traveled the world for free! We went to Australia, NZ, Tahiti, Fiji, Japan, and many other countries. It feels like a dream since we haven’t left the country since the trips ended at the end of 2014...but it was an incredible experience. I blogged (very lazily) about it during the time at missusmac.wordpress.com
2. I grew up raised by a poor single mother who was a stripper at some points, but on weekends I would stay with my grandparents, who gave me a normal, happy childhood experience.
3. If I won the lotto I would have a stable and work with horses. I grew up going to and roping in rodeos all around Texas (with my grandparents), and I would love for my kids to experience some of that.

No I dropped out because I had to pass that course and if I took it again I'd be paying out of state tuition.
Re: GTKY-3 things 10/30 (just because we're a slow board :) )
