Healthy/Fit check in

I had this already written, with a couple of questions, and then the bump decided to be all weird, and I lost everything. BLAH.

So, simply check in here. Tell us your goals, plans, work outs, vents, brags, whatever. I promise next week to have something a bit more precise, and nice-looking.

Re: Healthy/Fit check in

  • This looks perfectly nice!

Yesterday was my first day back at the gym in a week and it felt like it! I take a 24 HIIT class and am usually sweating like crazy at the end but yesterday I noticed I could NOT catch my breath. So I definitely can’t go that long between classes again.
Also, pre-pregnancy this class gives me energy for the rest of the day but now it just wipes me out for the rest of the day. It feels good to wake up sore again, though!
I had an appointment with my midwife on Tuesday and I have gained 6 lbs already so I’m going to lay off the carbs because I have been getting a little crazy. I don’t want to have 40lbs to lose again at the end of this like with my last 2. I’ve worked too hard.

  • Most of my food aversions have subsided, but I still seem to be eating pretty shitty. I had chips and cheese and a cookie for dinner last night. And sphagetti o's for lunch. Whoops! Haha! I know at some point all these carbs are going to bite me in the butt, so I really need to do some better meal planning/prep.

I need to drink more water. I've cut back on my caffeine a lot this pregnancy, but yet I still struggle with remembering to drink water. (I'm not a generally thirsty person.)

Workout-wise, eah. Now that wedding season is dying down until December, I'll need to start walking again to make up for the 10 hours + on my feet I normally got.

In AW news, I am officially the lowest weight I have been all year. I've lost just about 20 lbs since January. I'm about 10 lbs away from the goal I set for myself for the year (obviously not counting on the pregnancy.) Since I only gained 10lbs with my last, it makes me feel a bit calmer to know I have a good chance of not getting any higher than I started the year with. My long-term goal, after the baby of course, I want to lose another 60lbs from where I'm at now. Is there anybody else here who has a big, long-term goal of weight loss after baby? Or maybe who were like me, and was on their road of weightloss before getting pregnant?

Yes, the carbs! It's like all I want right now, and I was cutting back on carbs pre-pregnancy!

  • I am a fitness instructor and my job requires me to work out the majority of the 45 minute class. I teach 10+x per week. I’m SO FING EXHAUSTED. I can’t keep much down and when I do, carbs. There is no way I’m eating and drinking enough. I need to find a way to be more accountable to drinking water. It’s the best way for me to keep energy during my classes. I can tell a significant difference if I’m not well hydrated. Any tips on being accountable to our water?

Just curious, what is the difference between this and the physical health check in thread? Or maybe it's the same?
  • @JenniatONU after I have this baby I want to get down to pre-pregnancy weight (which was 40lbs lost after my last baby) and lean down some more. My ideal BW is another 30lbs below what I am now.

@mamabird515 the FitBit app helped me get in the habit of drinking more water so I don’t even track anymore. MyFitnessPal has a water tracker, too!
  • The workouts are the easy part for me right now. I’m on a running streak so I have to run every day. I’m on day 302 and I’m trying to get 365.
My struggle is the water and food. I don’t feel like eating anything, but I’m always hungry. Carbs are the only thing that I can manage. It’s mostly sugary junk. Ugh!
Water has been super hard too. I want soda and caffeine. I’m trying hard but it’s super hard right now. Anyone in week 13 getting past all of the yuck of first tri?

  • @roomsu I’m 13w5d and last week was much better- I even craved salad every day at lunch! I think there’s light at the end of the tunnel so hang in there!
  • @MamaBird224 there are several apps that just track your water intake and you can set reminders. You can also print out a little water tracker chart. It will have like 8 cups or icons and you cross one out for each glass you drink.

I did not exercise at all last week despite having more energy
