22 weeks, and I’m going to go with the size of a cheeseburger. Also, now I want a cheeseburger

    2) How are you feeling?
The past few days I’ve been really tired but also the toddler has been interrupting my sleep so that’s not helping. Just got a prescription for the heartburn and acid reflux so hopefully that makes things manageable. And my hips tend to not want to stay in place all the time so that’s annoying. Thanks relaxin. Mostly I feel grateful when I find myself ready to complain though.

    3)
Any appointments this week coming up?
I had my appointment yesterday and everything was great and normal. My next appointment is the week after Thanksgiving and I have to drink the glucose. Ew.

    5) Rants/Raves/Questions?
None that I can think of? Mostly I’ve just been busting my butt to finally get our house organized and rearranged for a nursery and a big boy room before I run out of energy and days in the second trimester. Plus I feel better when I have a plan and I want a plan in place before we have 2.0.

    6) GTKY: What is one political/social topic you feel passionate about?
    Adoption.
  • 1) How far along are you? How big is baby?
20 weeks, half way there!  Baby is the size of a banana
    2) How are you feeling?
Pretty good, finally have a positive weight gain! (I think they had the wrong original weight but because of that it showed that I had a negative weight gain after every appointment) I also have a noticeable bump now, it doesn't just look like I'm overweight which is a positive!
    3)
Any appointments this week coming up?
A/S A/S A/S!!!!!!!  Monday I FINALLY have my a/s and we'll get to see baby again and find out the sex (assuming they co-operate!).  Can you tell I'm excited? :P
    5) Rants/Raves/Questions?
Along with @antoto I don't feel a whole lot of movement, most of the time I feel it when there's loud noise (when DH and I went to a concert, last night at the hockey game, etc) I'm hoping that changes now that I'm 20 weeks and I start feeling more movement because I love feeling the baby kicks!
    6) GTKY: What is one political/social topic you feel passionate about?
Anything to do with kids-child abuse, child trafficking, pedophiles really get to me
  • @antoto did anyone tell you where your placenta is? I suspected after some conversations on here that I had an anterior placenta and I do... I mostly feel movement in the same positions as you and mostly on the sides or down low. He was low and head down at my anatomy scan a couple weeks ago and I don’t think he’s moved much.

@jerseygirl9090 I’m sorry about the headaches. They are no fun. Have you found any relief at all?

    1) How far along are you? How big is baby?
    23 weeks!!!! Grapefruit!

    2) How are you feeling?
Hungry all the time. Busy. Tired. So in love with my little smoosh already!

    3)
Any appointments this week coming up?
    Nope!

    5) Rants/Raves/Questions?
    None

    6) GTKY: What is one political/social topic you feel passionate about?
Not really sure.. I don't do politics much and I try to stray away from topics like this. It gives me anxiety and makes me sad so I just don't... :(
  • 1) How far along are you? How big is baby? TWENTY!! Baby is halfway-grown! Ovia tells me she is as big as an axolotl (super cute Mexican salamander).

    2) How are you feeling? Good! I submitted my application for what basically amounts to a raise at work (climbin' the ol' corporate clinical ladder), so that's a big relief. It involved writing, like, 14 pages of self-reflection  :# I have my annual performance eval coming up too, so cha-ching!

    3)
Any appointments this week coming up? Just had an uneventful 20 week appointment. When they put the doppler on me now, I feel a little guilty about secretly using one at home from time to time. Like I'm having an affair on the side.

    5) Rants/Raves/Questions? I feel my little salamander moving all the time now! I was surprised that even at work today, while I'm busy running around like a headless chicken, she was making herself Known to me. I usually I feel her wiggling in my quieter moments, but today she was cracking me up with double-kicks while I'm starting an insulin drip, and the like. Craziest feeling.

    6) GTKY: What is one political/social topic you feel passionate about?
So many. Like @antoto said, feminism is a no-brainer (am both scared and excited to raise a strong woman in this terrible time). Healthcare reform (single player please! everything else is inhumane). Environmental protection and preservation (we take care to limit the amount of trash and energy our household consumes,  and the amount of waste we produce, for one). Protecting humans, esp. children, from environmental pollutants. Racial justice. LGBT rights. Voting this shameful president and congress out of office ASAP.

    21 weeks- endive
    2) How are you feeling?
Sore- we had an event at church last night and I think I over did it. DH felt baby kick the other night and I loved the smile he got.
    3)
Any appointments this week coming up?
Tuesday. Normal appointment and doing a 24 hour urine test and blood work.
    5) Rants/Raves/Questions?
My 4 year old has been testing me a lot this week and I don't always have the patience I should with her:
    6) GTKY: What is one political/social topic you feel passionate about?
i am with @crossfitbabybump it makes me too anxious to talk about.

  • @mdfarmchick I think the reason I don't feel too much when I'm standing up is just because I'm only 18 weeks so it's still a bit early.  I feel her pretty constantly when I'm sitting reclined or laying down though.  I definitely feel her at the front of my uterus so I definitely don't think I have an anterior placenta.  But we'll see at the anatomy scan!

    @orbmaker FX for that application!!
  • 1) How far along are you? How big is baby?
22 weeks... and I don't know, I haven't checked lol. Second baby problems...
    2) How are you feeling?
Good! Lots of movement these days which is so different from my anterior placenta pregnancy the last time!
    3)
Any appointments this week coming up?
No.. finally! I've had at least one appt for the past 3 or 4 weeks. I am seeking a second opinion from a larger/more reputable MFM so I'll have that at some point but not exactly sure when.
    5) Rants/Raves/Questions?
The MFM I saw this past week was so rude to me. He completely dismissed my thoughts and wasn't willing to listen to anything I had to say. He just kept saying that he's read everything about it, even though a lot of what he was saying didn't match up. I was so frustrated after that appointment and I am really hoping for at least better bedside manner at the new location.
    6) GTKY: What is one political/social topic you feel passionate about?
As a former social worker, my hot topic is kinship connections in foster care/adoption.

@antoto thanks! It’s an “employee-driven” thing, but supervised and commented on along the way by a point person and manager, so now that I’ve made it to the submission point, I think it’s more or less guaranteed that I’ll be accepted! You just have to prove that you’ve been taking steps to advance your clinical practice to the benefit of the department you work in (I’m a nurse).

@mdfarmchick I also have an anterior placenta, so was expecting to wait a while to feel a lot of movement, but for whatever reason (maybe how she positions herself? Or because she is a breakdancer?) I’ve definitely been feeling her a lot the past few days!
  • @mdfarmchick Tylenol helps and a cold ice pack also helps but they def aren't fun. On top of that my daughter and I both came down with something so we are sick too  :'(

  • Lol @orbmaker I feel him a lot too but not in the middle at all. It’s all on the sides and down low. Haha.

@jerseygirl9090 that’s great that the Tylenol helps. I have found some luck with diffusing peppermint in the room I am in and mixing it with coconut oil and rubbing it on my temples when it gets really bad. I’m sorry you are both sick. Hope you feel better soon!

@mdfarmchick now that you mention it, I guess that's where I feel her too! I don't have any pregnancy to compare to so I'm just like
