Re: The Stroller Thread

  • @bb3vj3n, and the bassinet feature is amazing!!! DS slept in his for the first couple of days when we were ill prepared in the cradle department. And we took sooooo many walks in the bassinet the first few months while he slept. Definitely great for a spring baby for mom to get outside!

  • We have the Graco jogging one with 3 big wheels (I don't remember the name of it), and have loved it for 2.5 years. We live in a rural area with many unpaved areas, and it's been great.
  • Also, I got it on sale at Kohl's and also had 30% off.
  • My head is spinning from trying to figure out what double stroller we will need. For DS we used the Britax B-Agile. When #2 is born he will be 3 but we will definitly need something for amusement parks and jogging. Maybe looking at them in person will help.
  • Waaaahhh. Just went downstairs to pull the infant seat out of storage... “do not use after April 2018”... eye. Roll. So I guess that means I go here now. Where to even begin?!! I have the neat little frame that the Chicco infant seat just snapped into and I LOVE it, so ideally I would like to stick to Chicco, but I cannot believe the cost of a darn infant seat all by itself! It would honestly make more sense to get a full travel system. Whaaaat????
  • We have three right now that we use and rotate! We have a Bob duallie, city select (with an adapter for the infant seat and a glider board) and a chicco liteway plus (that our infant seat snaps into). I don’t see us getting another because these three fit all of our needs. Well just have to purchase another keyfit since ours expired and all of our adapters fit that infant seat.
  • I'm on my way to a warehouse sale in Vaughan...Ontario,Canada. Last day (9am-1pm) of a 3 day event. Just heard about it now. Hope its not crappy and I waste my time. Good luck to me! Don't wanna be out of my pjs for nothing...lol
  • @nancysimp Hey - where are you located. We just realized a bunch of us are all pretty close by to each other and it sounds like you might be near us as well! We were talking about maybe meeting up after the babes are born!

    @kalawa @syssa-o
  • @bb3vj3n that would be neat :)

I'm in Maple now...moving to King in January.
You 3 are in Vaughan area?
  • I bought the Chicco Bravo Trio Orion for my mom :) $500 Cad taxes in. Grandma will be prepped too. ;)  :D
  • one of us is near Barrie and two of us are in Oshawa @nancysimp
  • @bb3vj3n let's remember to connect in the spring :) would be nice.
  • After researching sooo many strollers, I finally decided on the Graco Breaze Click Connect Stroller.
  • I'm looking at getting the Graco Aire3 Click Connect Travel System. My mom is trying to convince me into getting a Britax, but so far this stroller is the one that sticks out for me.

holy Molly that's cheap. I know we pay more in Canada - but i haven't been able to find abutting under $650. Amazing!
  • @mommytron I definitely recommend going to try them out!  I went to buy buy baby and they had a huge in store selection. We ended up choosing the city select double. It's pricey but is nice because it can be a single or a double, but I know some people have complained about the weight limit on the second seat so something to check.
@chasingroygbiv oh man huuuuge bummer!!! Any trade in events coming up that  you could get some money for it?! (I know babies r us and target both do them from time to time)
  • We are skipping the infant carrier all together and starting with a convertible car seat  and it's been surprisingly hard for me to find the stroller that I want without including the car seat.  I think I have settle on the Contours Bliss 4-in-1 Convertible Stroller System but most of the time I am sure MH or I will be wearing him.

  • Does anyone have any experience with this stroller, the BabyTrend Sit and Stand Ultra? We went to Babies R Us today and this one caught my eye. I was originally looking at the Chicco Cortina Together double stroller but after reading the reviews about how heavy it is (43 pounds), I’m not sure that would be the best bet. I will be using it for a 2.5 year old and this new baby. I don’t have any BabyTrend products so any input is welcome!

Got 20% off a Nuna Mixx2 and Pipa car seat! Woopie!! Hiding them at my mom's house. My hubby won't be happy. Heheheh
  • I just saw an ad in Fit Pregnancy for the Nuna Pipa lite. Since I have some back/neck issues, a light carrier is really appealing. AND, the ad specifies no added fire retardant chemicals!

OMG It's over $500 for just the car seat and base. It's compatible with strollers - that cost over $800!

The Graco click connect is the lightest on the market after this, which I had already put on my registry, and I'm leaving there. 0.0

  • @fatstagnation yes ma'am...that line is a pricey bugger...as to why I'm hiding mine at my mom's. Hubby will think I'm insane. I probably am a bit...? I call it over excitement and brain freeze. I will cry when I get my visa bill.  :s
  • nancysimp haha I have totally bought things and then told DH my mom bought it for us!  But I don't think I could hide that expense.

  • I have been obsessing over reviews! Very early on a few people recommended the City Mini GT, it makes sense in theory, I live in a small city, don’t drive ( I CAN drive, but I honestly am not very good at it, didn’t learn until I was 26, and am so nervous when doing it that I don’t think  I will be jumping to put my new baby in a car driven by me unless something is urgent) and walk a lot. I will be walking a lot with our dog, I want something very maneuverable, and I will do about 25% of my walking on really manageable little non paved trails along the river close to our house. Then I read so many reviews and doubted my choice, but when I finally went to buy buy baby and tried a bunch of them it was by far my favorite. I registered for the stroller but already bought the adapter to attach the carrier from the Click Connect infant car seat that we were already given. I have never pushed a stroller with a baby in it or outside of a store, so what do I know?! Hahaha but I kept comparing them to grocery carts and wishing I could push a city mini gt around Whole Foods.
  • @leilaquinn We registered for the City Mini GT, too! We live in the city and while I drive, I also do a ton of walking with the dog and want something that's easily maneuverable so we can go to festivals and won't necessarily have to wear the baby. We're going this weekend to look at them in person, but one of my best friends had her daughter in January and she loves hers. I really like that it can transition from infant to toddler+, too. I looked at UppaBaby and Nuna strollers but I just couldn't stomach the insane price tag.

  • We’re going to get the city select lux stroller with two seats and the adapter for the keyfit car seat. It’s pricey but worth it in my opinion.I just wish we would have went with this option with our first kid. It gives you the option to have one or two seats and you can use the infant seat and a regular seat in it. The seats each have a 45lb weight limit I think and different options in how you face the seats. It’s also all terrain which is a must for us. Now we will probably sell our other two strollers we have from our first. I love both of those also (Chico liteway plus and Chico jogging stroller with the metal wheels).
  • Eek! we picked ours out yesterday.
One thing I keep noticing is the plastic/hard rubber wheels and I can tell you now, I cannot believe they still make stroller wheels that cheap! I'll admit, I am not a runner or jogger but this particular stroller fits all of my needs. Large real tires, the car seat is light, the front wheel pivots and will lock if you want it to and I can fold it up with ONE HAND! Opening it back up is easy as heck too. I cannot wait to use this stroller!

    Graco® Roadmaster Jogger Travel System

@kelsajo Did you happen to compare this to the Graco Fast Action Jogger travel system? That is the one we registered for. Just wondering if there is significant difference if you compared the 2?
  • We settled on the City Mini GT travel system yesterday. The sales associates were pushing the City Select on us but honestly I didn't like how big it was and it's obviously more money. If we need to get a double stroller down the line we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. (DH said "suck it up and walk, kid" re: "you need a double stroller for if the older one gets tired!!" Also y'all I'm not even halfway through my first pregnancy. Let's not start planning for a baby that's not even cooking yet.)
  • @npkat Our target didn't have the Fast Action so I didn't even know about this one. If you go to GracoBaby.com though and compare the two, they're essentially the same, except the roadmaster folds up smaller I think. The reviews on the Roadmaster are amazing on target.com however gracobaby has more details on their website for the fast action. I don't know if this answer will help you out at all. sorry!
