  • What number are you trying for?  3

    Cycle/Month?  3, 2

    WTO/TWW?  TWW/ maybe CD1

    Ages of other child(ren)? L is 2, E is 11 months

Any thoughts about this cycle? I'm starting to feel really down. We were extremely lucky in being 1/1 or 2/2. Now we are hitting c3, and I'm irrationally angry and sad.

Any questions? Random but, Are your projected  EDDs around the same time? L was due the 7th, E the 1st, and my next three estimated DDs would be 1-7 of their months.

GTKY: In the Halloween Spirit, what are you or your littles going as this year?   E is going as Poppy the Troll, and L is going to be Branch. Simply because its matching and easy.

    Cycle/Month?5/5

    WTO/TWW? WTO

Ages of other child(ren)? DS is 2

Any thoughts about this cycle? @princesslockness I feel your anger and sadness. I am in the same boat, and even knowing that this current experience of being on cycle 5 is probably more normal is hard for me mentally.  I have a tendency to think about the future in the lens of the worst possible outcome so in my brain i am going down all kinds of rabbit holes.

    Any questions?

GTKY: In the Halloween Spirit, what are you or your littles going as this year? Trying to get my shit together to make a costume for DS to be marshall from paw patrol with a little cardboard firetruck he can ride in...but i have like 5 days so we will see what i break down and buy from the costume store friday morning lol.
  • What number are you trying for? 2

    Cycle/Month? 2/2

WTO/TWW? WTO for a few more days

Ages of other child(ren)? DS is 3

Any thoughts about this cycle? Trying to be optimistic and not stress! Our timing seems pretty good, just losing a day today since I have work tonight. Projected O is Wednesday so we still a little time to HIO.

    Any questions? Nope.

GTKY: In the Halloween Spirit, what are you or your littles going as this year? We’re doing a Gilligan’s Island theme! DS will be Gilligan, DH is Skipper and I’m Ginger. Trying to think of something cute for the dog too!
  • What number are you trying for? 2

    Cycle/Month? 0/3

    WTO/TWW? WTO

Ages of other child(ren)? 17 months

Any thoughts about this cycle? Got my son new sheets and a comforter for his big boy bed. Now we just need a bed

He's had some rough nights lately making me think this isn't going to go well, but he only woke up one in the MOTN last night, so maybe we're turning a corner and night weaning won't be so bad.

Any questions? Nah, just in the same boat thinking this will never happen. It's partially my choice, so I can't really complain. I'm even contemplating going back to work full time if TTC doesn't work out by the summer and just putting it on hold so I can work a full school year. But I may rethink that. I miss my full time job and I'm legit excited to go to work every day I do go. I would miss DS, though, and I have so much guilt for wanting to work full time. I don't think I'd be happy either way. Most of the time I feel like I have the best of both worlds, but sometimes I feel like I have the worst of both, somehow.

Any other SAHM or part time working moms feel that way? Sorry for the word vomit. I struggle with this off and on.

GTKY: In the Halloween Spirit, what are you or your littles going as this year? I will be Catwoman, DH Batman, and DS Robin. His costume is big, I need to pin up the pants :grimace:

  • @lalala2004 I'm not currently a SAH, but was on bedrest from 24 weeks. I SAH'd until after Christmas break as thats when my 12 weeks FMLA was up.
While it was wonderful to not have to leave the kids anywhere, it was awful as I need the mental aspects of working.  I was so terribly excited to get back into my classroom. I am not wired or programed to stay home full time. I do ok for Spring Break and Christmas.

I can honestly say that having our new in-home daycare makes it so much easier to be full time. She is just like their 3rd, but closer than the others - physically and emotionally, grandma. They call her Nana, and she lets me know when things are going to happen. Like Emma walked a couple steps the other day. She got it on video, but didn't tell me until after I had seen her walk in person. So I got to experience that, but have the actual first steps recorded.

All that to say, I understand. Its so difficult as you want to be there 100% for your littles, but you also have to take care of your self.

  • @princesslockness ((hugs)) I know it's sooooo hard not to feel down, TTC is just the worst, but you've still got time and you'll get there! I know the feeling, we conceived DD very quickly, so it's really tough to think that I'm about to start cycle 6. That's funny about your projected EDD's being around the same time of the month as your previous 2 pregnancies. My EDDs haven't been close to each other at all, so maybe you just have a nice, even cycle!
@SmashJam Hugs to you too, friend! GL finishing your son's costume in time!
@mrs_drc_rn FX you get good timing! Your costumes sound adorable. :)
@lalala2004 I just got new blankets for DD's bed too! She's been using the same ones since she was baby and now they're too small for her. Waaaah!  :'( When are you getting a new bed for your son? Hopefully he likes it and will sleep well in it. Yay for only one wake up last night! Hope that continues for you and it goes smoothly. Reading your question kind of makes me feel guilty because I would never want to SAH with DD!  :D I returned to work after only 6 weeks of maternity leave. I have so much respect for moms who SAH though. It is the hardest job in the world and takes so much time and energy. I hope you can come to whatever decision you feel best about. Whatever you do though, don't feel any guilt over it. Kids learn so much from their environments and adapt so well. Even if you won't be home with him, he'll learn so much from day care and you'll get to have wonderful quality time with him in the mornings, evenings, and on the weekends.  <3

What number are you trying for? 2

Cycle/Month? Hopefully moving on to 6/5 soon.

WTO/TWW? Waiting for AF (*TW-loss* Hoping that my cycle starts up completely after my recent/ongoing loss so that I can just get a move on already! *end TW*)

    Ages of other child(ren)? 3

Any thoughts about this cycle? Probably will be benched this next cycle. I'm going on a work trip to the UK near the end of what would probably be my TWW and I really want to be focused on just work without having to wonder if I'm going to get KU! I also need to talk to my doctor about whether or not I can TTC again right away anyways.

GTKY: In the Halloween Spirit, what are you or your littles going as this year? I got DD a Minnie Mouse costume from Etsy. She wore it on our cruise a few weeks ago (it was a Halloween cruise) and she got to trick-or-treat throughout the ship!

  • @princesslockness @SmashJam I completely agree on the frustration of TTC. I try to remind myself of the odds every month, but when we have +opk and good timing its hard not to get your hopes up.
@princesslockness to answer your question my EDD have always been similar. I guess its just our bodies staying on the same cycle even through pregnancies? My DD was the 23 and **TW** MC but was due the 26 end TW**. It seems like the future EDD are also at the end of every month. Poppy and Branch will be cute! Do you have a head piece for them to wear?
@SmashJam I'm so jealous you can sew! That's definitely a skill that would come in handy.
@mrs_drc_rn I love the Gilligans Island theme! I always think its so cute to see whole families dressed as something.
@lalala2004 I'm not currently a SAHM, but I think Mom guilt is something we will feel forever. At least I think I will. I work 4 days a week, and every day I go I feel guilty that I have to leave, but I know that I am a better mom because of it. I am not wired to be a SAHM. I love having that adult outlet. I think there is so much pressure for us to be everything, but I understand how you feel. You just have to do what's right for you and your family.

Ages of other child(ren)? DD is almost 2

    Any questions? nope

GTKY: In the Halloween Spirit, what are you or your littles going as this year? My DD is going as Little Red Riding hood and my nephew will be the big bad wolf. My in-laws always do a HUGE display in their yard for Halloween. Its always a town get together for trick-or-treet. Its always so cute to see all the kids reaction to all the stuff.

  • @offtoneverland I'm so sorry for your loss. Minnie Mouse is such a classic. Did you guys do a Disney cruise?
  • @Mmyles87 Thank you! Yes, it was a Disney cruise. It was our 3rd one, but our 1st one with DD. She had so much fun! Although if she had it her way she would have stayed in the stateroom the whole time watching TV. Girl looooooves her some TV!

  • @offtoneverland I have always heard great things about Disney Cruises. Have you ever been to Disney in Florida? Which do you prefer? Did she like the characters or was she scared? I would love to take my DD at some point but I want it to be at a good age where she isn't scared but she still believes in the magic of the Disney experience. haha thats hilarious! One day she will appreciate it that you made her leave the room.
  • @mmyles87 I love Disney cruises and I could talk about them all day! We've been to Disneyworld a couple of times. Honestly, I think with little kids, cruises are way easier! I think the parks can be really overstimulating for little ones. Don't get me wrong, it's still a ton of fun for them. There's nothing like going on the fun kiddie rides! But in the parks, you have to carry lots of supplies with you (diapers, sippy cups, wipes, extra clothes in case of accidents, sunscreen, etc), and it's a lot harder to get back to the room in the middle of the day for nap time. On the cruise, your room is only a few floors away so it's not that hard to run back in case you forget/need something. Disney cruises are more expensive than some of the other cruise lines, but IMO it's worth it to get great kid-friendly entertainment. The kids clubs were pretty good and we were able to drop DD off for an hour or two at a time so we could get a drink or watch a show. You have to pay for childcare for kids under 3, but childcare for kids 3 and up is included in the price. :) I highly recommend it if you can swing it sometime!

@offtoneverland first off I’m very sorry for your loss, I’m relatively new on TTGP but followed yours and others stories......

regarding Disney cruises, bc I’m planning on taking DD soon after she is 3 (still a year away)....is that a good age in your opinion? My husband and I LOVE cruises so we’d love to go on one as a family. But I’m nervous bc she’s so little, I don’t want to be selfish and I hope she would be old enough to have a good time.

What number are you trying for? 2

    Cycle/Month? 3/2

    WTO/TWW? WTO

Ages of other child(ren)? 2 yes

Any thoughts about this cycle? CD1 so AF - hurry up and get out!...and Hoping our timing was better than last!!!

    Any questions? Nope

GTKY: In the Halloween Spirit, what are you or your littles going as this year? We actually having a family theme going...DD is Cinderella, DH is Prince Charming, and I’ll be fairy godmother...although I still have to finish mine and DDs costume!

ETA my actual update instead of just posting my Disney excitement

  • @lalala2004 I’m currently looking for new sheets for DS too! He’s been in a toddler bed for almost a year and we just got him a mattress so we can convert it to a regular bed. It makes me so sad though! And the mom guilt is real! I think we need that time to work though; to be out of the house, conversing with adults and doing something productive outside of the home. I work three days a week as a nurse so it’s nice to have that and my time at home as well.
  • @offtoneverland Thanks! That’s good to know. Disneyworld seems overwhelming even to me. Haha but I would love to do both at one point. I have been on other cruise lines and that’s the great thing about them is easy access to the rooms. I have also heard people like the cruise because they have an easier time interacting with the characters. I’m sure there are still so many people but maybe not so many in comparison to going to the park.

@princesslockness I’m sure the spray will work fine especially since they have blonde hair. You might even have to work a little bit to get it out. Haha
  • @mrs_drc_rn I have a similar set up working 2 1/2 days a week. It really is great, I think what I miss is the camaraderie with my coworkers. It's just not the same when I'm not there every day, but do I actually want more work? Not really! I also miss having my own classroom, but some of the full time teachers don't even have that!

All this talk about Disney cruises solidifies that we will definitely take one in the future, especially now that they sail from Galveston as well. That's less than a day's drive for us. But with the bad luck we've had on vacation lately I'm nervous to ever go on one again. Someone always gets sick.

@offtoneverland I am so sorry for your loss.

@princesslockness I understand your frustration. Hang in there!

@lalala2004 I am a teacher too and went back when DS was about 5 months. Sometimes I am glad to be back though guilt lingers a bit, especially when I see all my SAHM friends hanging out with the babies when I am working (there's an element of jealousy too on my part). DH says I can SAH after #2 if we are able to swing it which Fx we would but then I know I would feel guilt about not contributing financially. We just can't win sometimes!

    Any thoughts about this cycle?
Guys it's so frustrating. I had a definite + OPK 11 and 12 days ago. All FMU BFN when I have tested. Felt a short series of very sharp pin prick pinches at 6 DPO and of course I went against everything I know I should do by letting my thoughts run wild with "that was implantation!!' I am so very frustrated. I know it's only cycle 1 for me but with my PCOS (which I thought was under control) and my apparently very long cycles (I am on CD 50+), I just worry that I won't even have that many opportunities to be successful. I just feel so frustrated. I wish AF would just hurry up and appear because I want to start temping!!

Any questions? Yeah, I have ridiculous, symptom spotting a la babycenter questions like "can you get a BFP 35 DPO?" lol jk

GTKY: In the Halloween Spirit, what are you or your littles going as this year?
We are all going to be leopards. Even Dh said he will wear the leopard leggings I got him

I am on 2000mg of Metformin a day. I also follow a low carb diet. Before I started Metformin I used to get + OPKs every single time because of my high LH but since being on Met and following low carb I get negatives all the time except for 11 ish days ago. The doc also said weight loss would help. Found it very difficult to lose until about two months ago a little after I had finished BFing. Prior to my 1st pregnancy, I lost some weight which I think helped too!

  • Hello all! Newbie to the TTGP boards but not new to the TTC game - looking forward to getting to know all of you!

@princesslockness @SmashJam @Mmyles87I am feeling the same - with both my others we were so lucky and it was so easy - first month for both. This time we tried for 6 months last year and then I had to take a break because I was so stressed it wasn't happening. This is now our 2nd cycle back and I'm trying to be more relaxed about it but it's so frustrating!

@lalala2004 I feel you - my job is thankfully super flexible and with my first I was able to get through without ever putting her in daycare, with my second I started him when he was 2 for 2 days a week and am now at 4 days a week of daycare and he loves it. I felt so guilty in the beginning but it was so good for both of us!

@offtoneverland I am so sorry for your loss.

Any thoughts about this cycle? I finally added in OPKs this month because my BBT is all over the place and I'm not 100%convinced I'm actually ovulating each month - so far all negatives so really hoping for a positive in the next few days!

    Any questions?

I am planning on being the candy hand-out person this year so will wear some Halloweeny leggings but no real costume this year.

  • @lalala2004 Hopefully you guys can do a Disney cruise some time! Sorry to hear that you've had a lot of bad luck with your family getting sick on vacations. Since norovirus can spread quickly on cruises, Disney does a really good job of keeping things clean and they require everyone to use cleansing hand wipes prior to entering the restaurants and other dining areas. Other cruise lines may do that as well, but I've only done Disney!
@ecwk I loooove your display picture. It reminds me of my childhood reading Roald Dahl books. :) I'm so sorry you've been feeling frustrated. FWIW, I feel twinges and pricks and whatnot in my abdomen every single cycle! IDK what it is! Hopefully everything goes quickly for you...that must be so hard with your long cycles!
@elolin GL trying to be more relaxed this time around. Someone suggested to me a few weeks ago to try to plan some fun outings or trips to take during the TWW to get my mind off things. I think it's really helpful for me to get out of the house so I stay off the Internet!  :D Is your BBT thermometer new? I'm curious since you said your temps have been all over the place. Do you think it could be running out of battery or something? Did you take your BBT daily last year while you were TTC for 6 months? Sorry if you've said all this before somewhere else and I missed it! FX for you that you are in fact ovulating!

GTKY: In the Halloween Spirit, what are you or your littles going as this year? DS is obsessed with dogs (even though we don't have one). I definitely agree that pinches and pains and all those things are NOT indicative of pregnancy. When I was pregnant with DS I never had any symptoms at all. I hate that I let my mind wander so much because it just leads to disappointment.

    Cycle/month 5/4
    WTO/TWW WTO
    Ages of other kids 1,3,5
Any thoughts about this cycle? I got off the BC in July hoping to be pregnant by the end of the year and a tiny part of my brain does not want a summer baby even though I really want to be pregnant. My DS was born in August and I was pretty miserable summer of 16.
Any questions? Does anyone have any tips for how to work in more intimacy when you have kid(s)? Our first was our quickest and I feel like between our family and our schedules, sometimes it's hard to find time to be intimate.
GTKY: My girls are going to be shimmer and shine and my son is going to be jak-jak from the incredibles.
  • @offtoneverland Yes - BBT is brand new because I was hoping that was the issue! Last round my temps definitely were more stable than they have been this time around but they have never been as flat and perfect as some of the charts I've seen!

  • @offtoneverland yeah, when we did a Mediterranean cruise, they pushed the hand sanitizer hard core! Neither of us got sick on that trip!

@ecwk I teach English from home to kids in China for extra money. That's helped me have extra money while working part time. Let me know if you're ever interested.

@cm716 I lucked out with DS being born in May and missing the hot summer, but at this point, I wouldn't care!

  • What number are you trying for? 2

    Cycle/Month? 1/1

WTO/TWW? Preeeeetty sure I'm in TWW now. We're NTNP, so I'm not charting yet. I got obsessive about things real fast when trying for DD, so I'm attempting a more casual approach this time. (But if I'm being totally honest, I'll be back to being obsessive by next cycle lol)

Ages of other child(ren)? DD is almost 1.5

Any thoughts about this cycle? I was trying to mentally prep my husband to start trying in December, because change is hard for him and he needs a lot of time to adjust, but he surprised me by saying let's just stop using BC now. So I'm the one that's caught off guard lol.

    Any questions? None right now.

GTKY: In the Halloween Spirit, what are you or your littles going as this year? DD is too young to really know what's going on, so I'm just going to send her to daycare in a skeleton PJ. She can help me hand out candy after work.

  • @princesslockness@SmashJam I’m right there with you. We got we’re so lucky with DS. It happened before I could even start charting. Now starting cycle 4, I’m all in my head, even though I know it’s totally ‘normal’.

@lalala2004 I love the superhero theme! So cute!

@offtoneverland I’m totally worth you in not being cut out to SAH. My DS has been home sick this week, and I’m like, how do people do this every day all day?! I love weekends with him, but weekdays I love going to work.

    @ecwk so frustrating!

@elolin. I am in the same boat. I thought charting would do it, but then AF was 6 days late and I realized I have no idea what’s happening or if I’m even ovulating. I’m about to start temping and OPk this cycle(I’m on cd1)

@cm716 I went off BC in July too, hoping for an early summer baby(naive and way too optimistic, I know!) now, I’m dreading a summer pregnancy but weekly want to be pregnant so right now I just don’t care. DS was born in December so that was ideal!

What number are you trying for? 3

    Cycle/Month? 4/4

    WTO/TWW? WTO

Ages of other child(ren)? Will be 2 in December

Any thoughts about this cycle? First cycle I’m going to use OPK and temping so hopefully we can time things better.
I just ordered a new BBT and OPKs so I won’t be able to start using them until CD5. Hopefully I can still get something out of it.

    Any questions?
Many issues with not starting temps until CD5? I have a regular thermometer. Would it be better to just use that for a few days or wait for the BBT?

gTKY: DS  will be a Lumber Jack (he’s named Jack). Last year he was a Jack-o-lantern. Running through all the fun ‘jack’ costunes while I still have a say. Although I don’t get very excited about halloweeen.
  • @lalala2004 A Mediterranean cruise? That sounds so amazing! What cruise line did you go on?
@westphilly Not sure what you mean by early summer baby, but if you got KU this cycle your due date would be some time in July! Maybe a little late for an early summer baby.  :/ As for your temping question, you don't want to use different thermometers, so you should wait until you get the new one to start. Lots of ladies here stop temping during AF, so it's no big deal!

  • @offtoneverland I meant that I waited too long to start TTC. We wanted an early summer baby, but obv its too late! I would love to get pregnant now, even though I dread a summer pregnancy, which is what I’ll end up with (very happily if we’re so lucky!)
and thanks for the temping advice. I’ll wait for my new thermometer and start temping on Monday.
  • @westphilly Oh, I'm so sorry! I totally misread your post and was thinking "what due date calendar is she looking at?!" I started TTC in June and was also hoping to avoid a summer pregnancy again (DD was born in August), but at this point I don't care when the next baby is born as long as I get KU eventually!  :D

  • @westphilly are you in West Philadelphia? I’m just north of the city!
  • @offtoneverland Yes, just want to be lucky enough to get KU! That’s all I can ever ask for.

@mrs_drc_rn yes! Just west of uPenn in spruce hill.
  • @westphilly I’m hoping we can eventually move a bit closer to the city. DH works in Chestnut Hill and has an hour commute each way!
  • @offtoneverland it was amazing! We were on Norwegian.

No, not yet. I'm still going to, though, as I know higher prolactin levels can affect TTC. It's surprising, because if anything, DS has been nursing more, not less. But I've heard that the vast majority of women get AF by 18 months PP, which is almost where I'm at, so it may just have been a matter of time.
