June 2018 Moms

Due Date check-in: fourth week of June (6/22 - 6/30)

We're testing out a new check-in process that will either be in addition to or instead of the ticker changes. Basically the ticker changes are based on if your ticker swaps over to a new week on a particular day of the week (mine is Sunday because I'll be 5+0 this Sunday), but this will be for everyone who is, say, 4 weeks right now. Our hope is that this will be a helpful check-in for folks going through the same things at the same times, and possibly more relevant than the ticker changes. Please bear with us while we work out the kinks for these. Suggestions welcome!

Re: Due Date check-in: fourth week of June (6/22 - 6/30)

  • What's your EDD? 6/22

    How are you feeling? Good!

Any appointments this week/coming up? Not until 11/8

Rants/Raves? Just super impatient at the moment.

    Questions? Nada

GTKY: what's your favorite brand of bottled water? I don't have one!

What are your thoughts/suggestions about this new check-in format? (consider language in the prompts, structure, whether it should replace ticker check-ins or be additional, etc.) Definitely should replace ticker chanves. They really make no sense.

  • What's your EDD? June 24th based on lmp and even though I ovulated later I'm sure my OB will stick with this EDD.

How are you feeling? Pretty good. I'm starting to feel tired and having minor aversions to some foods, but nothing major.

Any appointments this week/coming up? BW tomorrow for my second beta, I should get the results on Thursday.

Rants/Raves? This is more of a vent for me: My SIL's best friend is starting to plan her bachelorette party for a week after I'm due. So I'm in a weird spot of offering my advice, but at the same time I won't be able to participate. I'm hoping that once I announce (which will be around the beginning of December) the group would be ok with bumping it up a month.

    Questions? None at this time.

GTKY: what's your favorite brand of bottled water? I don't have a favorite, but I hate Dasani.

What are your thoughts/suggestions about this new check-in format? (consider language in the prompts, structure, whether it should replace ticker check-ins or be additional, etc.) I prefer this thread to the ticker changes. With these threads we will be able to discuss symptoms, testing, and milestones in greater detail than on the ticker threads.
  • @izza2 I hear you on the impatience. I'm impatient by nature and I feel like it is now amplified.

@ChloandCoco GL with the bachelorette planning. It is so strange to know that you have this major thing happening that could affect future plans, but you aren't ready to tell people about it yet. My mom keeps going on and on about a trip to Key West in the spring and I'm like...um....zika....no. But I can't tell her that yet. Also, ditto on hating Dasani. It just tastes weird, right?
    Pregnancy Ticker
  • @LaceyBee522 Dasasni does tasted weird and I find it's has a thicker consistency than most waters. That's great that you are buying maternity clothes that will work for the entire pregnancy! I have some clothes leftover from my last pregnancy, but I'm going to have to buy some new pants.
@izza2 Is your first appointment just with your OB or do you get an ultrasound too? My first ultrasound is on 11/7.

@chloandcoco YES - It is thick - that is exactly right! And, I should clarify, I'm just buying clothes for me - they just happen to be stretchy or loose. I'm not buying maternity clothes just yet, however I am using pregnancy as an excuse to buy new clothes. Lol!

I also want to add that I like these threads because I can pop into the group ahead of us to see how they're feeling. I don't always remember what week people are on in the symptoms thread.

    Edited for spelling.

EDD: June 25 based on LMP

How are you feeling: Nothing out of the ordinary so far

Appointments: I go in next Thursday to confirm pregnancy. Then I will get a referral to OB

Rants/Raves: DH is out of town until next week so I had to call to tell him the news.
Also PGAL brain is getting the best of me. It’s so hard not to stress

    Questions: Not at this time

GTKY: Whichever is cheapest at the gas station.

i prefer this over the ticket change especially with being due so late in the month

@ChloandCoco - it's my first appt with the Dr (they don't see most women until at least 7 weeks, unless they have a significant history). But that's when they order the hcg and first ultrasound. They usually want it done 2 to 3 weeks after the appointment, but I may push to get it sooner for peace of mind.

I'm at the point where I may call to see if they can do some hcg blood work just to make me feel a little better. My symptoms have started to ebb off which is really freaking me out. I'd rather have nausea all day than nothing.

  • What's your EDD? 6/22

How are you feeling? Mainly tired. I've gotten 9 hours of sleep the past two nights yet I've been feeling sleepy by 3 Pm. My boobs have started hurting again as well.

Any appointments this week/coming up? Not until 11/13.

Rants/Raves? My daughter has a cold. But I can use her being sick as an excuse to stay at home and do nothing so.... Rant AND rave? Lol

    Questions? None today.

GTKY: what's your favorite brand of bottled water? Publix purified water. (Publix is a local grocery chain, for anyone not in the southeast United States)

What are your thoughts/suggestions about this new check-in format? (consider language in the prompts, structure, whether it should replace ticker check-ins or be additional, etc.) I didn't mind the ticker changes but this is smart. I would say use these to replace ticker changes, not be additional. I am curious how often these check ins will occur or do we just keep this same thread bumped as needed? Right now having them all up at once does make the board look a little more cluttered and less stream lined.

  • @izza2 I completely understand where you are coming from and it never hurts to ask, right? But for what it's worth, with my DD I was sick only a couple of days in my first trimester, but TW** with my first loss I was so ill I wanted to ask for nausea meds **End TW. Just remember that every pregnancy is different.
  • @oneblessedmess I hope your DD feels better soon! As for the threads, a new weekly check-in will be made every Sunday and we can all post on it throughout the rest of the week.

    How are you feeling?
    Zzzzzzzz

    Any appointments this week/coming up?
Nope, have to wait until 11/14

    Rants/Raves?
None, I'm all good at the present moment. Don't worry, it won't last long. Lol

    Questions?
    Nope

GTKY: what's your favorite brand of bottled water?
Ice Mountain. I'd rather drink tap water than desani!

What are your thoughts/suggestions about this new check-in format? (consider language in the prompts, structure, whether it should replace ticker check-ins or be additional, etc.)
I think this should replace the weekly ticker change.
  • What's your EDD?

    How are you feeling?
symptoms are anxiety and exhaustion. But feeling relief because now I know I’m pregnant and not just losing my mind.

    Any appointments this week/coming up?
Nope, I’ll probably wait a few weeks to call since I’m still early.

    Rants/Raves?
I’m just so excited to have gotten my BFP today, can’t wait to tell DH when he gets home (I couldn’t want to hop on here, haha!). Trying to think of fun ways to tell him.

    Questions?
    Nope

GTKY: what's your favorite brand of bottled water?
    dont have one

I think this is better than ticker change and should replace it.

    What's your EDD?  June 26

How are you feeling?  Okay, bloated, crampy, and my BBs hurt!

Any appointments this week/coming up?  Nope. Called yesterday to schedule, and my previous OB no longer does OB :(  But, I found a great new mid-wife (I hope), so I'm excited to meet her in like 4 weeks. haha.

Rants/Raves?  I am horrible at keep secrets so I can't wait to be far enough along to tell everyone.

    Questions? Nope.

GTKY: what's your favorite brand of bottled water?  Tap water, please.

What are your thoughts/suggestions about this new check-in format? (consider language in the prompts, structure, whether it should replace ticker check-ins or be additional, etc.)  Love it so much better than ticker change! Not so easy to forget your due date... ;)
  • @fantasticmrsfox Congratulations and welcome! Do you have any ideas yet on how to tell your  husband?
Thanks!! I’m drawing a blank. First time he knew I was testing and I just showed it to him then left for work (ha!), 2nd time I gave him a big brother book and ear plugs and a card telling him, third time I just told him. So I want to make this one a bit more fun. I’ve got about 3.5 hours.

  • What's your EDD? 6/27 (based on ovulation, LMP would be 6/29)

How are you feeling? Good! No real symptoms yet, boobs are swollen but I think that's the progesterone I'm using.

Any appointments this week/coming up? I decided to do a third beta draw tomorrow am...

Rants/Raves? We're going to a Halloween party this weekend, should be fun. I am dressing up as a Dalek, DH is going to be a Cyberman.

    Questions? Not right now.

GTKY: what's your favorite brand of bottled water? Does Lacroix count?

What are your thoughts/suggestions about this new check-in format? (consider language in the prompts, structure, whether it should replace ticker check-ins or be additional, etc.) I'm a big fan of this check-in format and my preference would be to do it in lieu of the ticker changes. When you stop to think about it, ticker change threads don't make much sense and also can cause anxiety for women who are further behind and not yet experiencing symptoms/having certain appointments. Plus, let's be real, most of us will not actually go on our due date anyway.
  • @ChloandCoco - I know, thank you  My two consistent symptoms since turning a test were cramps and nausea, so any ebbing of them makes me nervous. Obviously I don't expect the cramps to stick around, but it just freaks me out that the nausea is ebbing off.

  • @fantasticmrsfox Good luck, let us know how you end up telling him! I put DD in a Big Sister shirt and hid in the bathroom so I could record his reaction, which was definitely an improvement from the first time when just I came out the bathroom and asked "Does this look positive to you?" So, progress!

  • What's your EDD?  June 23rd

How are you feeling? Pretty good! I was extremely tired last week (i.e: felt like I took nyquil all day long!) and have been cramping for about 2 weeks which continues to make me nervous even though I have read everywhere that it's a common symptom!

    Any appointments this week/coming up?
Thursday with my general practitioner for blood work confirmation

Rants/Raves?  very frustrated that I'm not getting an ultrasound until week 9! I've only told one friend who is 12 weeks pregnant now and she suggested telling my general practitioner that I'm feeling anxious and seeing if there's any way to get one earlier. Other friends have had them at 6 weeks and earlier, but I'm not sure how! Any suggestions?

    Questions? See above :)

GTKY: what's your favorite brand of bottled water? Spindrift seltzer!

What are your thoughts/suggestions about this new check-in format? (consider language in the prompts, structure, whether it should replace ticker check-ins or be additional, etc.)
II love being able to connect with others who are due right around the same yome, very helpful!
  • @ChloandCoco Thanks for starting this thread!
@LaceyBee522 Hooray for new clothes! That jacket is super cute. I've never seen one like that before!
@ChloandCoco Hopefully once you announce they'll be able to move up the bachelorette party so you can attend.
@oneblessedmess Hope your DD feels better soon! My parents live in Florida and we always enjoy going to Publix when we visit. It's a fun grocery store!
@zamora_spin My EDDs are the opposite of yours -- 6/29 based on ovulation and 6/27 based on LMP. Your Halloween party sounds fun. Do you guys make your own costumes or buy them?
@fantasticmrsfox Good luck surprising YH! Let us know what you decided to do. I need inspiration for how to surprised DH on his birthday on Thursday. Thinking about having DD color something that says "Big Sister" and giving it to him in a card.

What's your EDD? 6/29 (based on ovulation; although I wasn't temping so it's probably not correct)
How are you feeling? Good! Still too early to have any symptoms I think. Minimal cramping yesterday and my boobs hurt a little, but nothing besides that.
Any appointments this week/coming up? Nope, I need to call the doctor to schedule my first appointment. I'll probably do that next week. With DD, I called the day of my first positive test and they had me come in for a urine test, which was negative since the tests they use are not very sensitive. So I want to avoid that happening again!
Rants/Raves? We had Chipotle for dinner tonight!
Questions? If any of you took a digi, when did it show positive? My lines on the FRER are still pretty faint, but today's was darker than yesterday's. I want to try a digi tomorrow but not sure if it's too early.
GTKY: I'm with @zamora_spin, does Lacroix count? I rarely drink bottled water, although now I want to go get some Dasani to test it out...
What are your thoughts/suggestions about this new check-in format? So, it's only my first day on this board, but I was lurking for a while. I agree with everyone else that this format makes more sense. The ticker changes seemed confusing to me and I didn't understand why they were grouped that way. Makes much more sense to group us together by EDD!

  • @offtoneverland We bought costumes. I’m not very crafty, although I was thinking of making one of our dogs a Dalek costume. We’ll see. On the digis - I got my first BFP at 8dpo and turned an FRER digi at 10 dpo (but my hCG also jumped up really fast per blood test). Digis aren’t as sensitive and it can be emotional to see them turn negative after you’ve had a positive test.
  • What's your EDD: 6/23 based on LMP. I think my dating ultrasound will put me a few days later because I ovulate a bit late. My 1st 2 babes were early birds so my mental due date is early June.

How are you feeling: So tired. I thought 4 wks is too early for symptoms... I see @oneblessedmess and others are fatigued so i dont feel so nutso. No MS yet. I'm still processing the news and reminding myself that I'm pregnant. Had some pinkish mucus this a.m. after a bm and my heart stopped for a minute because AF is due today but I remember the same thing happening with DS pregnancy. I know it's normal in first trimester.

Any appointments this week/coming Up? Nope. Haven't called the OB yet.

    Rants/Raves: Too tired to complain.

    Questions: Nope.

GTKY: Filtered water in one of those sleek steel bottles that keeps it really cold.

Thoughts about new format: Ditto what everyone else said. It makes more sense.

@kmac11686 It doesn't hurt to ask. I've heard the dating ultrasound is most accurate around 8-10 weeks which could be why your practice schedules moms at 9 weeks.

    & @offtoneverland

DS1 has been working on coloring almost life size pictures of our whole family and hanging them on the wall, so I had him do mine with a baby in my tummy. DH didn’t even notice till I said something like “what’s different about mommy’s shirt?”  He said ARE YOU SERIOUS? He’s excited and sat down and explained to DS1 that I’m pregnant <3

heres the pic: pardon the alien-ness of the people, haha! DS1 is not quite 4.

  • @zamora_spin That would be so fun if you could make a costume for your dog! Thanks for your response about the digi. That was my concern after struggling with turning tests over the weekend...I don't want to get way too disappointed if I see a negative, so I'll try to hold out a few days.
@fantasticmrsfox Thanks for sharing the pic! That's adorable. For being 4 years old I think your DS is quite a good artist. My 3-year-old still just scribbles.  :D

  • What’s your EDD?
    6/26 based on LMP

    How are you feeling?
Good! I well up with tears whenever I see cute happy things, which is a little awkward in public sometimes lol.

    Any appointments this week/coming up?
My OB does the first appointment during week 8, so I’m looking forward to 11/15.

    Rants/Raves?
Nothing at the moment. @ChloandCoco I can relate with the SIL wedding plans. We are in the process of planning the bachelorette party now too, but it will be either Jan or Feb (wedding is in March), so well before baby comes.

    Questions?
Curious if anyone else has experienced spotting/implantation bleeding. I noticed a pink tinge on the toilet paper a couple days ago. It was really slight and from what I read it is very common, but I didn’t experience it in my last pregnancy so it gives me a little unease.

    GTKY:
When I buy the 24 packs I always go with the cheapest, but if I’m getting one random water bottle somewhere I splurge and get one from the Swiss Alps or Scandinavia or something. It tasted SO much better.

    Thoughts on new format:
I’ve never had a ticker and don’t know how it works, so I’m good with this way!

  • What's your EDD? My guess is 6/25 or 6/26

How are you feeling? Really emotional, a hint of nausea, and the wonderful cramps that accompany my entire pregnancies.

Any appointments this week/coming up? I need to call tomorrow to get in. I am not sure if I am going to stay with my midwives from my most last pregnancy or switch to the OBs. I'm unlikely to be a good candidate for a VBA2C so I'll probably switch.

Rants/Raves? Nothing much, lots of stress. I've got my daughter's first birthday coming in the next few days, and Halloween so I'll be keeping way too busy.

    Questions?  not yet

GTKY: what's your favorite brand of bottled water? I don't really drink bottled water, I normally just grab what's cheap when I get it.

I like this check-in, I feel like it makes more sense to check-in with people who are closer to your due date vs 3-4 weeks ahead. This is the first time I've seen this, my last BMBs did it the old way so this is an interesting change.

  • @fairytale2016 I had pink when I wiped a few days after BFP with both DS pregnancy and this go round. TMI but for me it was right after a bowel movement. It's either late implantation bleeding or irritation of the cervix. OB was not concerned when I mentioned it to her with DS pregnancy.
  • What's your EDD? 6/27/18 based on LMP

How are you feeling? cramps, fatigue, slight breast tenderness - symptoms fluctuate day to day

Any appointments this week/coming up? none this week, betas were done last week and first prenatal visit is scheduled for 11/15 - the wait is so hard!

Rants/Raves? I'm traveling to Denver for work next week which stresses me out a bit since I have a history of MC. Trying to not let it get to me.

Questions?  still trying to figure out this board, I'm sure it gets easier with time - I like the check in with people due the same week as you. Seems it would be easier to navigate.

GTKY: what's your favorite brand of bottled water? I drink lemon flavored Glaceau vitaminwater zero - yum
    Daisypath Anniversary tickers
  • @fairytaile2016 I had some brown/light pink spotting for a few days last week. That has stopped and became clear today. Most likely implantation bleeding which is very normal. I didn't experience that with my other pregnancies so it worried me a little.
    Daisypath Anniversary tickers
  • What's your EDD?  On or around 6/27

How are you feeling? Feeling ok, some waves of nausea, TIRED (I run after my toddler all day, so I'm used to feeling worn out, but it's crazy how tired I am now!), bloated, and a bit overwhelmed.

Any appointments this week/coming up? Nope - need to call the OB tomorrow to let them know and set an appointment.

Rants/Raves? We were in the process of starting a remodel project on our home (working with an architect, have had soils/foundation surveying done), and this pregnancy (kiddo #2) kind of kills that plan, because there's no way it'd be done before my due date. So now we're trying to figure out what to do (keep the house, sell the house, do the remodel anyway and figure it out..?)

Questions? Just would love to connect with fellow STMs to brainstorm managing life with a toddler and a newborn! :)

GTKY: what's your favorite brand of bottled water? I drink water obsessively, but usually it's just tap water in my Contigo water bottle. Don't really have a favorite brand of bottled water.

What are your thoughts/suggestions about this new check-in format? (consider language in the prompts, structure, whether it should replace ticker check-ins or be additional, etc.) Love this format - when my son was due at the end of January 2016, I remember feeling like the ladies due towards the beginning of the month were just light years ahead in terms of what they were going through. :)
  • Thanks, @llamamama14 and @lo0818. It sounds like it’s probably normal. I’m going to call OB tomorrow just to be on the safe side!

@zamora_spin FX your betas come back right where they should be.
@profmcgonagall I really hope your cold goes away quickly. If you are really struggling you can call your a pharmacist to see if there's anything you can take.

AFM, I'm going for another blood draw on Wednesday, but I won't get the results until Thursday. My HCG has to be 880 for it to be doubling on time.I really like numbers, but I find waiting for the results it's way too stressful. I'm still POAS every two days and the line is darkening.
