Re: FTM Check in 10/17
Generally I'm doing pretty good. Symptoms arent terrible but not gone yet either. My nausea seems to be fully back this week.
I'm anxious to get to week 12. Planning to announce to our families in the next week, and then friends.
Honestly the most exciting was seeing the BFP! Next would be meeting our awesome midwife team.
Challenging has been the fatigue and finding clothes to wear every day!
I got a matching winter hat set (for Canadians, a toque), one for me and one for baby. I might use it for a FB announcement.
Grateful to be pregnant but this is really hard! I don't recall any other pregnant person I've known to complain as much as I would if anyone actually knew I was pregnant.
What has been the most exciting, and the most challenging, to date?
Most exciting was missing my period and knowing something was up. I was elated for the first two weeks. Most challenging is dealing with fatigue and nausea and food aversion.
Have you made any baby purchases?
no but its been hard. I want to wait for my upcoming nt scan first before I buy maternity clothes and will wait as long as I can before actually buying anything for the baby.
I'd so elated to finally be pregnant and am totally embracing it after IVF. I just love thinking about and talking to baby, knowing he is with me 24/7 is so awesome! My hubby totally misses out, but then again symptoms... lol
The weeks are going by so quickly compared to he last 2 years of infertility, but at the same time I'm ready for baby to come along now, yet having to wait! I've enjoyed seeing (had 2 US's 6w4d, 8w4d) baby grow so much and all these early milestones.
I've got lots of little things for baby, books, vintage books from our childhood, some small toys and onesies, swaddles, I bought some nice maternity clothes that are also for pre/post baby. And we just ordered a really nice diaper bag (backpack style) we are going to both use, since DH is off work for a few months when baby arrives.
I already have a list of almost everything we need and have already chosen it all but will start with the room first, just been waiting until end of 1st tri because I have no energy to even buy things..
Did a gender reveal/pregnancy announcement shoot yesterday - will announce I'm about a week when edits come back. But our close family & friends already know (like 30 people lol)
Good I think! I'm 10 weeks tomorrow and I'm feeling pretty good but the food aversions and exhaustion is still strong. It's the end of 1st quarter this week too so I'm trying to get all of my grading finished up and done and man. Motivation is not my strong suit. Can I blame that on pregnancy too?
What has been the most exciting, and the most challenging, to date?
The most exciting has really just been realizing, at random times of the day, that there's a baby inside of me. A human. Little life. Little child. How is that possible? What a miracle. I have this realization at least once a day. My husband is tired of it but he doesn't have to deal with not wanting to eat so tough luck honey.
The most challenging has been the nerves. I've been so anxious about losing baby that I'm not sure I've really appreciated this 1st trimester. I still have two weeks to go and I'm starting to feel more relaxed but I don't think I'll feel secure until baby is actually in my arms in May. I have no reason to be extra anxious but that fear holds onto me.
Have you made any baby purchases?
I bought a pair of pants because the bloat has been so bad some of mine won't button. And I did buy a set of newborn onesies just to look at. So tiny!

Good for the most part.
What has been the most exciting, and the most challenging, to date?
Most exciting: that I've made it this far. Most challenging: I'm so irritable and hostile at work. I hope I mellow out before everyone turns against me lol. Feeling like crap isn't fun either, but I'm feeling mostly better now.
Have you made any baby purchases?
A baby info book, a couple maternity tops, and a bellaband. I have not used any yet

How are you all doing?
Ok. Tired and nauseous most of the time. My boobs have never been bigger either. My husband loves it, but they are so sore and heavy. I also started to get heartburn this week.
What has been the most exciting, and the most challenging, to date?
Most exciting is that I'm carrying this little tiny baby and no one knows. It feels like the best secret I've ever told anyone. Challenging, I agree with the above, other than the symptoms, anxiety. I struggled with it starting at 8 weeks and thankfully it's getting better. Just nervous that I'll lose the baby or that I'm doing something wrong. I'm only 8 weeks, but I want the best for this baby!
Have you made any baby purchases?
Nope. Too worried that would "jinx" us, I've looked at plenty though!
Better than a few weeks ago, but a lot of food aversions. It's hard for me to want to eat ever.
What has been the most exciting, and the most challenging, to date?
Most exciting was seeing our little one on the ultrasound. The most challenging was the extreme nausea.
Have you made any baby purchases?
I bought a snoogle during a sale and some maternity clothes also during a sale. My husband got a Hokies onesie when he was down at VT for a football game (his alma mater). I'm overwhelmed by all the purchases we will need to make for the baby though.

fine really, no nausea just a bit of constipation and fatigue.
what has been the most exciting and the most challenging to date?
Exciting - that this is happening at all really.
Challenging - My paranoia, can't wait to see this little bump next week in my US so I can stop stressing.
Have you made any baby purchases?
Mainly yarn, currently crocheting a baby blanket. The SO couldn't help himself and bought a bouncer thing. When we are in town to get the US done I will probably buy some maternity bras and maybe some leggings in anticipation.
Pretty good. No nausea which is a plus. Just tired, plus getting up 2-3 times a night to pee doesn't help that. Recently I've been having lower back pain when I'm getting up from certain positions. I think I overdid it with the yardwork on Saturday.
What has been the most exciting, and the most challenging, to date?
I'm excited that this is actually happening after infertility. But I'm still feeling anxious and I also don't think I'll feel fully secure until I have the baby in my arms.
Have you made any baby purchases?
I bought a onesie for our announcement. Other than that, nothing yet.
How are you all doing?
I'm doing better ::fingers crossed:: but I'm having a hard time finding a good sleeping position. Every positions seems to make me ache after a while.
What has been the most exciting, and the most challenging, to date?
Most challenging has definitely been not being able to workout like I normally do. I've stopped feeling guilty and just appreciate being a couch potatoe for a bit. The most exciting was seeing my last ultrasound because the baby actually looks like a baby.
Have you made any baby purchases?
I bought DH and myself shirts that say "mama bear" and "papa bear" and it comes with a onesie that says "baby bear".
How are you all doing?
Not great. I have been feeling really sick the last couple days, and am totally exhausted and extremely stressed and emotional. I am starting to wish my work knew I was pregnant because I'm worried they will notice I've been kind of slacking off and at least then I'd have a bit of an excuse! I have answered so many check ins lately all negatively that I am also starting to feel bad for being such a whiner, heh.
What has been the most exciting, and the most challenging, to date?
Most exciting was seeing the heartbeat at our 8w ultrasound! I was on such a high from that for the rest of the day. It's hard to pick the most challenging. I think it would probably be the fatigue/emotions, which feel somewhat tied together for me. I am finding it really hard feeling so worn out all the time.
Have you made any baby purchases?
Not really. I have some stuff for me, like some baby books and a belly band to keep my work pants up. I wanted to buy an adorable stuffed octopus when we first got our BFP but H convinced me we should wait so we didn't jinx things. Someone H worked with recently gave us their old portable stroller and a diaper genie so we have those stashed in the basement. I am starting to have second thoughts about using a second hand diaper genie though.
I'm happy to see you saw a heartbeat at 8 weeks. I'm going tonight for my first US/fetal Doppler and I have so much anxiety about it. Fingers crossed and prayers for a good report tonight!
@silverhope How do you like the snoogle?
@thunderberry I'm right there with you. So tired, stressed at work, and this week my symptoms seem to be back in full force! Looking forward to having energy and enjoying a meal again sometime haha
I sleep on my back usually bc side sleeping hurts my shoulders so I’m waiting on using the snoogle until 16ish weeks when I have to do the dreaded side sleep
It’s gonna be so hard to switch from my back, so I know I need a device to help hold me in place!

I understand the fear off loss, but I Ann praying an for hoping you can all find peace to replace that well before baby is in your arms! I sometimes feel nervous Loren now than earlier ?! and I figure it's because I'm so comfortable having baby with me now, the newness of pregnancy hasn't worn off.
Love hearing the comments about being so excited to think we have baby with us all day ☺️ and how amazingly it is a little life isn't growing inside us Andrew we're a part of that! I remind myself I'm doing so much - growing a baby - because outside that I'm really not doing much at all!
Look up some minimal baby stuff lists - I'm a big believer we're bombarded with "stuff". Have a super practical baby shower, and get some family or friends to give you things (2nd hand, heirlooms) or suggestions.
Also a friend of mine only got thing and for first 3 months - then bought clothes, stroller, highchair as baby grew and needed them.
