WTO CD15 and I'm pretty sure I'm surging today. Tons of EWCM so BD better be on tonight! The test line of the OPK this morning was much darker so I should be Oing in the next day or 2.

I just got off off the phone with my RE. For the fourth time, this is the call I dread when he tells me no embryos made it to day 5. I’m losing hope that IVF is going to work for me, just grieving today. Thanks for listening.
@Momifbysea I am sending all my love and light. Just remember one thing ... tough times don’t last, tough people do! You are doing everything in your power to make this happen. We all get so caught up in this whole baby thing that sometimes we forget about what’s right in front of us, and how beautiful our lives really are. I know it doesn’t feel like it now. I have cried so many tears over this and have no doubt we all have. Month and month again I am crushed and disappointed. I grab my dog hold him so tight and cry.. he gives me a little kiss on my nose and we lay there snuggling for hours. I also may or may not pop a Xanax too. Keep your head up. And if you need to vent we are here to listen.
Oh no, I’m so sorry, @Momifbysea I know the goal is to PGS test, but they may do better in utero? My second cycle we prepared for a day 3 transfer (we had no blasts from my first cycle, and insurance only covered two cycles, so we were less committed to doing the next cycle) in case we only had a few fertilize (first cycle had 3 fertilize).
Is your RE trying anything different from cycle to cycle? I switched to a new RE this past cycle and the difference was night and day. I really think all the drugs my first three cycles (along with testosterone priming) did not help my egg quality.
I’m curious to see what your RE would do differently. Hang in there!

I"m so so sorry @momifbysea - maybe not have them tested and trust 1 will implant and be healthy. maybe the testing is just too much for them. I don't really know much about IVF so take that with a grain of salt. Those changes in your diet and supplementation may also take a couple of months to have an impact on your eggs so keep that in mind. At least you have coverage for IVF and can keep with it if you choose to.
@harleyquinn0621 - I'm sorry about the CP that just plain sucks!! I'll let you know how the appt goes. Too bad they don't take insurance. We can really only afford a couple appts so I'm going to take advantage of the hour I have with her. I know this may not help either but I'm willing to try before we go the clomid/femara route.
I agree with @ndz2018 - I find I have to remember all the things I have now and be grateful for all of them and then that makes me feel a sense of gratitude and abundance in life. Our DD is in first grade this year and last year was really sad with the loss and what not so it is really important for me to bring happiness this year. I've bought some extra halloween decor cause I know she loves it. During this time I don't want to loose sight of the child I do have thinking about a child I may or may never have. That 3 month mental break really was a good choice on my behalf. I have to say now that we are being more proactive with the BD it brings back more of those thoughts again but I know we just have 2.5 more months before I throw in the towel so to speak. I told DH last night I just can't wait for all of this to be over - not sure if that was a good thought or not lol. I just know I'm reaching my limit. I can only do a little more of this. I commend those of you that have really stuck with the medicated route.
@vlagrl29 YES! Let’s talk more about our gratitude and abundance in life!! Love it!
What is everyone grateful for this week??
May I make a suggestion? We should add that to our weekly!! There is always something or someone to be grateful for in our lives. It can be things like the mailman for saying you have pretty smile or how happy your dog was to see you when you got home!! Sometimes the simple things in life really put things into perspective... I mean, obviously, some of us are going to have our bad days and not feel like sharing and that is totally okay too.
Today I am grateful for this group and sharing the details of my ttc journey with complete strangers who get it! Huge shout out to you guys!!
when I think of what I'm grateful for it's always defaulting to health and family. So if I have to pinpoint something today is the fact that we are going to the pumpkin patch in about an hour with girl scouts, the yoga I already completed this morning, and 2 days of OPKs where the 2nd line was dark as control line. My surge must be good this month.
Good morning guys! So quick question... i have two different Basal body thermometers.. I thought I lost it one day so I bought a different one but both different manufactures as well.. my temp had not risen well very very slightly , however I got a postive lh surge on my opk on Sunday and we BD’d then. Tried to last night but SO had a horrible day at work and sometimes suffers from ED sometimes, so it was a no go do you think it hasn’t risen Bc they are two different manufacturers? I’m at a loss here
@Momifbysea I am so heartbroken reading your update. I know the posts on here talking about being grateful for what you have are well intentioned, but you also need room to mourn and explore whatever feelings you are having, so make sure to take the time to do that too.
I am here rooting for you and hoping that this next cycle is it for you and your family. ❤️

TTC #2 since July 2018 May 2019 IVF #2: BFP! (beta#1 346, beta#2 646) - vanishing twin at 8 weeks. Baby B still going strong - due 2/8/20!
@ndz2018 - I've only temped a couple times and I got mine at target. For me I noticed I would O a couple days after a pos opk. I've taken my temp the last couple days and noticed its lower than normal which i think is partly the cooler weather we have now with fall. I'm not sure why yours hasn't risen but temping drives me BSC so I really don't do it that often.
@vlagrl29 THAT WHERE I GOT MINE! TARGET! And yes mine had been pretty low too. And the other on I ordered from amazon. I usually spike after I ovulate. I’m gonna hope the OPK was right when I peaked! I did an OPK today and it was blinking smiley face so my guess is I O’d already and the surge in going down.
Guys one more question.. I am severe pain right now with my neck, I had an accident when I was 33 was cliff diving and smacked my head on the water the wrong way and blew some discs.. anyway I read taking Advil can hurt implantation if I did conceive.. I do have Percocets for when it gets BAD!! I’m scared to take both! FYI Tylenol does nothing! Any suggestions??
TWW but my hopes are not up, question for the group? Does anyone know if Clomid increase birth defect chances? Rants--THINGS THAT ARE SAID THATA IRRITATE ME 1. I was told, "wow your trying for a baby at your age (36) better you then me, im almost a grandmother at your age."
2. At your age, your body will never recover, why would you want to have a baby now, it's just so late....
@ndz2018 i don’t know how Advil would hurt implantation, in fact, it has a mild heparin-like effect and we know that aspirin (also a blood thinner) helps with uterine blood flow, so seems like it might actually help implantation...but again, I’ve never heard anything linking Advil to good or bad implantation. I do know it can inhibit ovulation though, so generally not good to take when TTC.

Never mind we still got BD in. Still on schedule. Lol.
@ndz2018 I sure hope you feel better. Sometimes only Advil works for the relief esp for inflammation. I get headaches on occasion that are bad and only Advil will rid it.
@vlagrl29WOOHOO get it gurl!! Also I took a couple Advil. I was DEFINITELY not taking the Percocets! It helped, kinda, and went and got a massage and laid down the rest of the afternoon and figured this morning would be better, wrong, I’ll take some Advil again. @PoeMasque I will look into that, I’m not sure where I read it, but I suppose you can’t believe EVERYTHING you read on the internet.
Im not in high hopes that it did happen as SO was away for work last night and today..we only did it once when I peaked on Sunday. But I also suppose it only takes 1 time. I have a feeling it’s off the RE for us on the 27th.
@ihope36 all i can say is don't worry about what everyone else thinks. and the thing about your body recovering is just stupid. a lot of women have children in their 30's- it's not out of the ordinary. i do not regret waiting at all even if it is a bit tougher

I had my appt with the functional medicine doctor. It was very different than going to my OB or MD. She put in an order
to quest to get my blood drawn to test for lots of things like vitamin
levels, thyroid, etc. She says sometimes those things can be low and
that can affect your hormones. So I'll go in Saturday morning to get a
blood draw cause I need to fast for it. She said once those are in we
will go over it all and if I'm low on anything I'll need to supplement
it so then we will talk about supplementation and I'll bring in my
supplement bottles that we are taking. She performed Kinesiology on me
too which I've never heard of. Just thru that she has a hunch of a
couple things I'm low on but will confirm with blood test. I can
probably afford a couple more appts with her and then be taped out on
money. Got save some money for an RE if we want to do Femara after new
years. That's my plan B. She said she's had patients that have spent
10k at a fertility clinic and never got pregnant that route but were low
on something very basic and then had success.
I think she could
sense I was negative about TTC. I told her this was my last effort and
then I might throw the towel in. I told her it's been quite the journey
that has not been easy on me. She told me to switch my thinking around
and believe I will get pregnant for that mind body connection. I know
this from yoga - if you believe it will happen most likely it will but
TTCAL is a whole other ball game. So I need to write down some positive
mantras. That has been hard too because I was working on letting go of
everything and realizing we may be an only child family and now I need
to restore hope in myself.
I was doing really well until she
mentioned believing I will get pregnant. Then I lost it a bit and said
it's so hard. I'm like "what's the point, I already have a kid so why
bother any more".
Overall I found it very informative and
interesting. I'm willing to give it a shot while we are naturally TTC
for 2.5 more months lol. not that I'm counting.
@vlagrl29 Great now I’ve gotta google Kinesiology and see if I need lol lol! Question is this blood work specifically to see if your deficient in Vit? Bc when my reg dr does blood work he tells me and/SO( we have the same one) that we are deficient in Vit and our thyroid etc. SO was deficient in Vit D that’s why he’s on 4000 a day. Point is, do you have to pay out of pocket for this blood work? If you do you can probably call your MD tell him you wanna check if your deficient in any Vit / thyroid and whatever she specifically wants( im sure he’ll work with you, mine always does) it will be covered? Just a thought
@ndz2018 - she said as long as my insurance covers blood work it will be covered no matter what physician orders it. It's on my list this afternoon to check with my OB to see if it would be cheaper to pay with cash lol just like my $4 prog test. I also need to call insurance and see how much of bloodwork they do cover on my plan.
@vlagrl29 AWESOME! I’m excited for you and to see how it helps! How much is each visit? I’m just wondering Bc this all sounds very interesting and even though I have my first RE appointment next Friday this is all very intriguing to me!
I have the RE app next fri the 27th and AF is due like the 28-30th( varies like 2-3 days month to Month) and I don’t wanna go if I did conceive this month and feel like an idiot lol. Im thinking about taking a pregnancy test in the 25th Bc they want a 48hour cancellation notice. Do you guys think that’s too early? I hate jumping the gun( done it before) bc it’s just such a disappointment. Or should I just assume I’m not , go and if I am awesome, if I’m not we made the right move
@ndz2018 - she came referred to me by a yoga friend. She is not covered because she's different than an MD and she believes you need to test basic level stuff because those things affect the hormones. Everything is a puzzle piece that needs to fit together. I spent an hour with blue cross today making sure all those 20 things are covered. All but 2 are at 100% because I'm going to quest which is in network. I'm going to call quest this afternoon and ask if they have a cash price on things that are not covered. Her first appt is 1 hour long at $124 and all additional appts are $70. My next appt next week will be 40 minutes because we need to go over results and supplementation and they are going to prick my finger and test my blood cells. That appt is when she will "treat" me and we will set up a plan. I think I can afford 2 more appts with her and then I'll just go from there. There might be a time I need to have all blood tested again to check supplementation and I'm ok doing that since that part is covered. This is my final effort ladies! I'm just so over this and wanting to let it all go. It's important to me though to try this route before we go off to an RE. That's a totally different avenue.
@vlagrl29 I’m glad it went well! I need to find one in my area
an update on me: my dr had continued to have me do blood work because she wanted to watch my hcg level come down ...today however I got a call from her office telling me to come in right away.....apparently my levels were rising instead of falling....she advised it’s ectopic - so I got a shot of methotrexate today and will continue to be monitored next week....thankfully it was all caught early

I talked to to dh tonight about everything and he agrees with my new doctor that I'm kinda more negative than I use to be. I was doing really well in the summer months because I took that mental break to refocus. I think I'm putting too much pressure on myself again by really want us to have the best chance possible before we possibly see an RE. I just really need to take a chill pill and enjoy this time of year with the holidays.
@HarleyQuinn7161 omg glad you’re ok too. Wow luckily they monitored you!
@vlagrl29 You are definitely putting too much pressure on yourself! Don’t worry, I am the same way. It’s super frustrating! The ONLY reason we are going to the RE is because my insurance covers it. If it didn’t we’d be singing a different tune. I think you should definitely follow through with what you’ve begun with the functional medical doctor, hear her out, however she is right if you don’t believe in what you’re doing then your body won’t either and that’s just more negative energy pent up in you that you def do not need!

I mean, obviously, some of us are going to have our bad days and not feel like sharing and that is totally okay too.
Today I am grateful for this group and sharing the details of my ttc journey with complete strangers who get it! Huge shout out to you guys!!
i have two different Basal body thermometers.. I thought I lost it one day so I bought a different one but both different manufactures as well.. my temp had not risen well very very slightly , however I got a postive lh surge on my opk on Sunday and we BD’d then. Tried to last night but SO had a horrible day at work and sometimes suffers from ED sometimes, so it was a no go
do you think it hasn’t risen Bc they are two different manufacturers? I’m at a loss here
@Momifbysea I am so heartbroken reading your update. I know the posts on here talking about being grateful for what you have are well intentioned, but you also need room to mourn and explore whatever feelings you are having, so make sure to take the time to do that too.
I am here rooting for you and hoping that this next cycle is it for you and your family. ❤️

Any suggestions??
i also agree about mourning. I did that after my loss. You need that time.
1. I was told, "wow your trying for a baby at your age (36) better you then me, im almost a grandmother at your age."
2. At your age, your body will never recover, why would you want to have a baby now, it's just so late....
ugh DH and I got in a little tift so I don't think BD will happen - that's ok still got thru the 23rd to finish up.

@ndz2018 I sure hope you feel better. Sometimes only Advil works for the relief esp for inflammation. I get headaches on occasion that are bad and only Advil will rid it.

I think she could sense I was negative about TTC. I told her this was my last effort and then I might throw the towel in. I told her it's been quite the journey that has not been easy on me. She told me to switch my thinking around and believe I will get pregnant for that mind body connection. I know this from yoga - if you believe it will happen most likely it will but TTCAL is a whole other ball game. So I need to write down some positive mantras. That has been hard too because I was working on letting go of everything and realizing we may be an only child family and now I need to restore hope in myself.
I was doing really well until she mentioned believing I will get pregnant. Then I lost it a bit and said it's so hard. I'm like "what's the point, I already have a kid so why bother any more".
Overall I found it very informative and interesting. I'm willing to give it a shot while we are naturally TTC for 2.5 more months lol. not that I'm counting.
Or should I just assume I’m not , go and if I am awesome, if I’m not we made the right move
an update on me: my dr had continued to have me do blood work because she wanted to watch my hcg level come down ...today however I got a call from her office telling me to come in right away.....apparently my levels were rising instead of falling....she advised it’s ectopic - so I got a shot of methotrexate today and will continue to be monitored next week....thankfully it was all caught early
