@Ashoes123 Last year I wanted to do a trip to Quebec City and Montreal in December to see the Christmas decorations and markets and stuff! I'll remember this when I plan the trip (because yes, it will happen).

We're doing a cross country road trip!! We're driving uhaul moving van and towing our car, 30 feet of fun! Best babymoon ever, all 2,079 miles of it! #movingsucks #iwantabeerbutpregnant #howtfamisupposedtobackthisbitchup?!
We decided to fly into Portland to visit for the first time and see our friends who recently moved there and then fly down to San Diego. That way we get both the mountains and the ocean. I'm so looking forward to it. Recommendations are welcome. Now we just have to buy the plane tickets!
@mblomq2 Assume you mean Portland Oregon haha. Check out Powells if you're into books. Its the one place there that I wish we had on the east coast!
Has anyone been to the Outer Banks in October? Not worried about water being cold, but we're more looking for a mellow charming beach town. Been to the Delmarva beaches all my life, but I've never been to the Outer Banks. Any recommendations? Is it hurricane season then too? Thanks in advance!

I been in early spring and it was wonderful. Hurricane season ends in October. I've been there during a hurricane in July and we all lived to tell the story. Duck or Corrolla are really cute and quiet towns.

I moved to San Diego almost two years ago! So much to do. Do you know where you will be staying? So I can maybe shoot you some suggestions?
@keshupe29 that would be lovely! I'm not concerned with staying in the city proper because we will have a car. I want somewhere relaxing. I love the beach! We are always go go go types on vacation but I know I'll need to slow down. We'll be going in October.

Youre the 2nd person to recommend Duck or Corrolla! We have duck donuts here, lol, which is the only thing I know from there. Will check the 2 out thanks! Any restaurants not to miss?

Coming in October should be a little cooler but being off season probably cheaper for hotels. San Diego in general can be kind of expensive. A few thing at that I recommend. If you like Italian food, little Italy! It's a small area. A few blocks really is all. Some awesome restaurants. And only a few minutes from downtown.
There is a great hotel that you can often times get pretty good deals at. It's the Hilton bayfront. Right on the water. Pool faces the beach. And this is downtown. So close to the trolley.
Coronado island has a really nice beach. Right by the Hotel del Coronado. Expensive hotel. But great beach area. And a 10 min drive from downtown basically. It's an island connected by a bridge to San Diego. There is also a cute little downtown area with little boutique shops and restaurants.
Mission bay and fiesta island are also good beach areas. Those are a little north of downtown.
If you want to see some touristy stuff. The USS Midway museum is pretty cool to see. Also balboa park is full of museums, hiking trails, parks, the San Diego zoo. Lots to choose from there. Also they have duck boat tours downtown. It's a boat and bus essentially that does tours that start on land and end in the water.
La Jolla has a place called Torrey Pines. You can take a short little trail walk to some pretty awesome views of the water from the bluffs!
If you are looking for relaxing I would stay away from the "gaslamp" area at night. Is basically drunk college kids no matter where you go.
And if your hubby / SO is into beer you can basically throw a rock and hit a brewery.
DH is currently in his MBA program and they do an international business trip and spouses are encouraged to join. So luckily we are getting to go to Vienna, Austria and Prague, Czech Republic in just 7 weeks!!!! If it hadn't been for this trip, we probably wouldn't have taken one as we didn't take one with DD. This one is probably more needed than ever. I still have yet to leave DD overnight.
Hello Ladies, if you're in the New England area I highly recommend a trip to North Conway NH to check out the mountains and fall foliage. Adventure Suites is amazing! all the rooms have a unique theme, whirlpool tubs, fireplaces, and all the movies you can watch..It's so cozy and relaxing. We stayed in the NYC penthouse and loved it. You can take a virtual tour of the rooms online, they are amazing...
We took a 4 day weekend to Outer Banks last week. Really chill, quiet place. Personally I'd rather have gone north for leaves changing colors, but they'll hit the Shenandoah soon enough and we can do a pretty daytrip drive.

Thanks, we'll have to check that out. Last month we stayed at Nordic Village which is right down the street from Adventure Suitrs and recommend that too. They're like condos with a kitchen and big whirlpool tub, and there's outdoor heated pools and hot tubs.
Babymoon vacation in 10 days. Woo hoo! Can't wait to spend time on the west coast. Prenatal massage is already booked. I'll be 23 weeks. When are you all getting out of town? Can't wait!!
DH now wants to do a trip to Barbados with friends in December as a Babymoon. I can barely sit comfortably in the car for 2 hours now. I'm thinking it's not the best idea, but he and our friends who suggested it are VERY excited. Is this unrealistic???

I would say it is unrealistic because of Zika. Your dr might not approve you going there. Also, some airlines do not allow you to fly after 28 weeks (many do, but it is one more thing you would have to keep in mind while booking).
