GTKY: In light of Friday's drama in June '18, Did you have any drama filled threads or topics on previous BMBs?
I actually had the pot stirrer in my first BMB. She was interesting and entertaining to have around. I didn't make the move to FB so I haven't kept up much. We also had TB go nuts just as everyone was getting established, and most of us jumped ship to TCF. I managed to do both for a bit, but after L came it was just too much.

GTKY: In light of Friday's drama in June '18, Did you have any drama filled threads or topics on previous BMBs? Not really. Though I gave up about 4m in. I got tired of everyone complaining about the format, and wanting to go to fb, and whining about science not agreeing with them. I think it's just that so many join only after pregnancy and don't know board etiquette but decide those who have been here are wrong - because dang it they said so. And if you want fb format, join a group on fb. You joined the bump, so use THAT format. So I didn't participate much.

Any questions? Anyone else with a previous horrible delivery or premie having a hard time wrapping your head around a second? I had a emergency C with general and my son was 7 weeks early. I ended up with an infection, hospitalized for three weeks and a wound vac. L has delays (maybe age related) and some health issues. We really want more kids but realized this weekend that we have had 5 hospitalizations, 9 ED visits, 12 specialist visits, 34 pediatrician visits, and various tests/procedures done this year. That doesn't count his weekly therapies... just not sure how we would do this with two!

GTKY: In light of Friday's drama in June '18, Did you have any drama filled threads or topics on previous BMBs?
May 16 was pretty tame. Someone started a hot topics thread in the very beginning that got a lot of the usual drama out at once (circumscion, piercing ears, etc). I've read a lot of drama on older boards and since the mass exodus and rebranding of TB in early 2016, the BGs shut stuff down before it gets really fun, as happened with the June 18 thread.
I think we had a weight gain thread get pretty heated, and someone started calling people the "thread police" which had a lot of fun cop gifs. There was also a small feud with June over something, and people were posting chicken nugget GIFs as an inside joke. Since we have a few May 16 vets on here maybe they will remember anything I forgot!
With E I had an 'incompetent cervix' which ended up holding perfectly fine until 38 weeks, with the cerclage removed at 33w6d. We had a L&D trip every week minimum. When we finally got cleared to have my water broken at 38w, she came before they got my iv in. I was yelling about 'how would you know this shot will make it feel better, you don't have a F****ing vagina' when she came out, then next contrax I got my IV. then had to be knocked out while he manually retrieve the placenta an hour later.
L has had over 15 ear apps this year. On the 20th we have to have him knocked out again for an ABR/APR. That will tell us if he needs hearing aids, of just has some serious selective hearing. He ends up having a double infection about every 6 weeks, even with his tubes in.
You can do it with 2. It takes some doing and planning, or in my case lots of Ipad movies. E is a wonderful baby, and its still difficult to handle just the regular checkups. I'm planning to see if I can leave one at daycare and take the other one. More gas, but mom only has to carry and handle one at a time.

Any thoughts about this cycle? I'm at 9dpo and I just feel out already. Cervix is low, and i'm having some serious cramping tonight. Hoping AF holds off for a few more days so I can get an idea of what my normal LP length is.
Any questions? So DD2 is not really talking. She will only say "dada" and "mama" rarely, and doesn't associate them just yet with the correct person. At her 15 month well baby the ped asked about her verbal skills and I told her what i'm telling y'all now, and I said I was concerned. DD2 is 17 mos on the 19th. So in two months, she hasn't learned one new word. The peds said if she wasn't saying at least three words by 17 months, to let her know and we'd schedule an audiology appt, and possibly a speech therapist consult. I'm trying not to worry, but i'm worried. I know she can hear us, as she can follow directions, and will respond to her name. We also talk/read to her all the freaking time, so I don't think it's that...and she hasn't had one ear infection ever. I'm just at a loss of what to do. Anyone have a similar story? Outcome?
GTKY: In light of Friday's drama in June '18, Did you have any drama filled threads or topics on previous BMBs?
Not really...Aug 10' was tame for the most part by the time I joined in, and May 16' was also pretty tame. I do remember the chicken nugget thing, but honestly with DH being deployed the whole pregnancy, and me always being sick, I didn't focus too much on the drama if it was there
@josie12367 I would recommend calling early intervention for an assessment. In my experience if your momma gut says something is wrong then it is worth checking out. We were referred to EI last year when L was 8 months for other issues. While they were doing their assessment the speech therapist realized that he had no babble and did not make noises that were consistent with speech. Overall he was globally delayed but marked as "severely" speech delayed. We started services and just had his one year recheck. He now has over 30 words (hard fought every one of them) and while it has been long year it was great to have people in our corner could help us with anything. For our son it was finding the right approach- there are multiple ways to encourage language and for L it was touch cues. We started them in July and he has gained 20 words since then!
** edited to add*** Also, at his 1 year recheck he officially didn't qualify for EI in speech! I joked they couldn't leave us so they kept us on under his prematurity

Any thoughts about this cycle? Feeling hopeful. Our timing seems good so far and I added some things to the mix (preseed, Green Tea, RRL tea and gave up coffee). Wish I'd done better with exercise, but I at least did better with that than previous cycles.
Any questions? Does anyone know how to find more hours in the day and more energy to go with it? LOL Feeling overwhelmed with one toddler - hard to imagine how we'll (hopefully) manage everything with two. I just keep telling MH it will be hard, but it will be worth it and we'll just have to figure it out!

Any thoughts about this cycle? TW Frustrated. I had a loss in August and have been unsuccessful since. Our daughter was so easy and with conceiving the one in August, I thought we were so lucky. Now I feel doomed. My dr told me to not stress and I was like "oh yeah ok that's so easy!"
I am going to try and not symptom spot and considered deleting these apps. I just feel alone in the journey and that I can't talk to anyone. Why is fertility & ttc such a private thing?

I am only on this board. I may have to go look at June...
It really helped to hear what y'all had to share. DD2 now has a consult in with the doctor, and we should have a game plan here in a few days of next steps. I think I just kept convincing myself I was making a big deal out of nothing, but y'all were right, I should trust my momma's instinct. Thanks again!
I'm sorry you're feeling down. Please try to relax and do something tonight that you enjoy to get your mind off TTC. 20% is really not a huge percentage, so you just have to wait and try your best each cycle. ((hugs))

GTKY: In light of Friday's drama in June '18, Did you have any drama filled threads or topics on previous BMBs? I know there was some when I was part of the June 15 board but I don't think it was crazy, just the usual. My Dec 16 board was super low key and some people were even a little disappointed that a little more snark wasn't appreciated.
I did just catch up on the intro drama on June 18. Were there other drama threads that are worth going back and checking out, lol?
@spottedginger Those sound like some exciting threads! I'm going to have to lurk through them later...
@Mylitta I'm glad to hear you've been able to calm down a little bit and feel better about this cycle. It's so hard to try and let go and take it as it comes. DH just can't understand why TTC is so time-consuming and gets me worked up!
@josie12367 Sounds like you got some great advice about your DD's possible speech delay. I'm glad you were able to make an appointment. Sounds like a good plan.
@lalala2004 Do you have a plan for when you'll start night weaning? I'm glad you're able to enjoy the night feedings while you can. Lots of women I know said night time feeding was the best because of the bonding. I thought BFing was truly terrible, so obviously I'm missing something.

It sounds like I need to back and lurk some of the boards. This is my first time on TB so no good stories from me.
@JLS12JSP I think everyone feels that way when TTC#2, but ultimately I try to focus on the fact that he will eventually have a playmate, and as my son is already very social and extroverted (with two introvert parents... how did this happen?) and I know he will eventually appreciate it.

@josie12367 I had the same worries with my first son. He would say a couple of words here and there, but not at the level all the experts recommended. We even started keeping a list on our fridge of the words he could say so we could tally them up before our pedi appts. But, pretty much the minute he turned 2, the words started flowing with ease. Now he's an extremely talkative 4 yr old. It just took a bit longer for him to get there. Good luck!
@offtoneverland, @lalala2004, @JLS12JSP, and @mrsinterweb thanks for your responses & sorry for your losses. I am totally type A and a control freak and this process is excruciating.

Any thoughts about this cycle? I'm hoping this cycle works and gives us a healthy baby! I go back and forth about calling the RE vs. trying on our own. I just don't want to have to pay for all of the appointments if we don't have to. I have a lot of anxiety about trying on our own since all of our healthy children were conceived with Femara but Macy was conceived on our own with only Metformin. I have a (potentially irrational) fear that my eggs (due to PCOS) are poor quality without Femara and that could have contributed to her genetic disorder. So TTC on our own brings up a lot of anxiety. But I'm trying to push past that since it could have just been a coincidence.
GTKY: In light of Friday's drama in June '18, Did you have any drama filled threads or topics on previous BMBs? My last BMB was September 2016. I'm sure we had some drama filled threads in the beginning but I can't think of any at the moment. We had a great group so I don't remember having drama very often.

Any questions? Has anyone had any issues with getting their toddlers to poop on a regular basis? My sons seems to go well for a few days, then he’s constipated and it’s a constant struggle to get his bowels regular. And for some reason he doesn’t want to sit and try to poop on the potty anymore?
