Plus Size Maternity Clothes

ISO good places to buy plus size maternity clothes. Obvs there is Motherhood, but I'm looking for any other options. Seems things are pretty limited. Last couple of pregnancies I just shopped at Motherhood, but I really was hoping for something different this time.

Places I've already looked, but don't have plus: Old Navy, Target
Places I've already looked that have plus but a crappy selection: Walmart
Places that could be good, but the reviews on the items are sketch: Amazon, JC Penny
Places I think I could still check out for ideas: Macys (but I think they own Motherhood?)

Help! TIA!

Re: Plus Size Maternity Clothes

  • Are you trying to find a brick and mortar place or ok with online? I've bought from old navy and target online with no problems. B&M the only place I know of is motherhood. I've also heard good things about H&Ms online selection, but haven't checked them out.

I'm tall, so I was hoping for B&M so I could try on, but I'm open to online as long as the return policy is good. I could only find Old Navy through size 18/20. Do they have bigger than that and I'm missing it?

  • Ha, if you find someplace, let me know. I saw Nordy's has some but I'm not dropping $250 on a pair of maternity jeans. Luckily, I didn't need maternity anything until about 25 weeks last time. Even then I think it was to make me feel like I was pregnant and not just fatter.

True- I didn't really need them until closer to the end last time... this time, though... right before I got pregnant I lost a LOT of weight. Now, I only have like 4 outfits. So, I don't want to go buying more things I can wear now that won't fit. I also work an office job that I have to look nice for, so I need to look "put together". I KNOW this is our last baby, so I'm thinking I could go ahead and get maternity pants and just wear those until they wear out... :)

  • I'm plus size too and the struggle is real! Depending on your size, the XXL target maternity clothes work for me. Motherhood has been the only place that I can find office friendly pants that fit comfortably. I'll be stalking this post to see if others have any good ideas :)

  • I also found some at old navy but I'm size 16. Not sure about 20+. Old navy is moving to online only maternity they told me unfortunately. I didn't feel my target had a good selection. Macy's is an option but I haven't looked there yet.

I haven't looked this time around yet, but for the moment I'm living in faded glory jeggings from walmart. last time I got some stuff from target. boscovs sells motherhood/a pea in the pod stuff (sears carries the other brand for that line but I can't remember what it's called.

When I was in college I worked at a Motherhood outlet store (Tanger Oulets in Lancaster, PA but I know there are others) we carried all 3 lines, everything discounted and we varied from petite xs up to like 4-5x. Also, Motherhood generally stays true to size, meaning if you're a large before you get pregnant you'll most likely be a large in their stuff (barring anything extreme like multiples or excessive fluid, etc) A Pea in the Pod was one of the "high end" lines and their stuff tended to run a little small. I loved their stuff though, and I actually bought a few shirts when I worked there even though I was in college and not even close to getting pregnant yet lol

ETA: Unless it's been recent, Macy's may carry Motherhood, but they do not own them that I'm aware of.

Also, check Kohl's, they have a decent selection, too.

  • Don’t know if you ever shop on zulily but I love it and I’ve noticed they have a good plus size section for maternity and regular clothes. Some of the stuff isn’t super trendy but it’s one of those places you have to check every few weeks. Only downside is no returns so I try not to buy anything over 20 bucks. I would say 3/4 of the items I’ve purchased there have been good enough to get a lot of wear out of of.
  • I haven't even looked really. Last time I went to Old Navy. I'm 5'10 and size 16/18. So I need size tall option. H&M looked nice but I heard they run small
  • Pink blush maternity!!
  • Definitely following. I'm going to need to stock up since my big months were the middle of the summer last time. Also, like none of it was cute.
  • I know it's coming down to the wire but motherhood has a 30% off sale tonight with free shipping and I'm pretty sure they have a plus section!
  • Last time I was in clearance motherhood and some target.  There are also some plus size maternity buy sell trade groups in Facebook I've purchased from.  I'm a 2x-3x
  • Pink blush has plus size but I’m not sure what it goes up to. Also Gap goes up to 18 and they have tall sizes for those looking for that. They’re my favorite for jeans and aren’t too bad if you get them on sale.
  • In case anyone else needs this: plus is Buy one get one 50% off at Motherhood online right now! :)
