I know we've got some Halloween lovers and celebrants in here so dish about your plans for this Halloween.
Are you dressing up? If so, what's your costume? Going to a party or staying home to hand out candy? Do you get trick or treaters? Do you have little ones that will be dressing up and going trick or treating? What costumes will your little ones be donning?
DS: EDD, December 19th, 2014. Born, December 19th, 2014! DD: EDD, July 18th, 2016. Born, July 19th, 2016!
I'd like to dress up... but I'm not sure if I will yet. At minimum I'll do some crazy makeup on my face for fun.
We're taking the kids out trick or treating, at least on our street. This will be DS's first year where he'll 'get' it so I'm excited for that. The kids will dress up... probably as paw patrol characters... lol. After we finish our street we'll probably return home, set up the fire pit, and hand out candy after the kids go to bed.

I don't usually dress up. I'm not opposed to it, I just never get a costume in time lol.
I will be taking DS trick or treating in our neighborhood. Not sure what his costume will be yet. I asked him what he wants to be and he doesn't know, so I may have to just pick something.
I don't think we're dressing up, but I'm making a cow costume for DS. This will be my first attempt at something I found on pinterest, we'll see how it goes...
My town has a historic Main St. and they do a dog parade on Halloween and the shops along the street give candy to kids. It starts pretty early, so we'll do that, then maybe some trick or treating in our neighborhood. I don't know at what age kids get the idea of trick or treating, but we figure since DS is 2 and walking now, we'd give it a try this year.
This year we're doing a sort of traffic (?) theme for the family. It started out with DD1 wanting to be a traffic light.... okayyyy, so I made her a working traffic light, and then DD2 said she wants to be a car. So she's a race car driver in a car. I decided I'd be one of those traffic signs that says 'Bump Ahead' and I asked DH if he wanted to join and he said sure, if he could be a sign that says 'No Dumping' (naturally). I'm super excited about it!
We do our church's trunk or treat, and our neighborhood does a "mini" trick or treat earlier in the day before it's dark, where people bring their buckets and set up around the park, and we'll do that. (My kids go to bed at 7:15, so "real" trick or treating would be difficult!). I think my littlest's preschool is going to do a Fall Fest thing where the kids can dress up too! Oh and church that Sunday all of the kids are allowed to wear their costumes if they aren't scary.
Our work always goes all out for Halloween and our department is big on the scary theme, so that is my dress up time. Otherwise, we'll probably hand out candy in the neighborhood. We get soooo many kids, but I love sitting on the porch watching all the action and having them come up in their cute costumes. Thinking of getting this shirt, though.
I won't be dressing up, exactly, but I'll wear this shirt at work (HS counselor). DS is dressing up as a UPS driver. We frequently use our Amazon prime, and he is absolutely obsessed with our driver and getting packages. He's super excited!
DS is with his dad for Halloween this year so we're taking him to our town's Halloween carnival the weekend before. He already picked out his costume (a ninja) and I bought an orange tee shirt and I'm going to make a jack-o-lantern face for the belly. DH and I will probably stay home and watch scary movies on Halloween night since it's just the two of us this year for the last time.
H and I don't dress up (I wish we had parties to go to so we could, lol). And we barely get any trick or treaters. We take DS to a couple houses on our street, and to the next neighborhood to trick or treat. He loves it. This year he is going to be a mummy (and I always buy a coordinating treat bag lol). And I found a shirt that I want to wear when we take him out.
NOt dressing up, but my town is pretty adorable. Everyone does hayrack rides throughout the community to trick or treat. Individuals who live in the country set up tables in the town park and pass out candy, have kids play games, etc. The town shops convert into haunted houses. The sports bar does a scavenger hunt and all parents are given a free beer.
The girls are going to be characters from Monster High. Oldest is Draculoria and youngest is a mermaid.
I'll dress up as a scarecrow for my party at school. I got a shirt that says Pumpkin Smuggler on it. We live on a farm, so we never have to be home for trick or treaters. We always trick or treat in town with friends. My kids are going to be Pocohantas, a pirate, and Rapunzel. My youngest even has a super long blonde wig to wear!
First of all and most importantly: hocus pocus is awesome. Im surprised no one else has commented on the awesomeness of the gif.
We are going to be in Disney for Halloween. I won't dress up but i have a tee w Frankenstein on it that i usually wear. DD1 will be Evie from descendants and DD2 will be Belle. I plan on giving candy to our cousins who live on our street so they can hand it out for our house.
I’ll take my DD trick or treating. She wants to be a “kitty mermaid.” Not sure about that one. I’ll leave a bowl of candy out and probably get a cute shirt to wear for the day
Me (33). DH (37). DD (2.2012). MCs x4. After 4 years & 7 months, due 4.2018!
My husband and I go to a pretty cut throat Halloween party every year at our friends. Awards are given out and everything. It's adult only so we don't have to worry about incoprating our DS into the costume. Our costumes for the past years were: - Dorothy (husband) and Sophia (me) from the golden girls (we won) - Willy wonka (husband) and an Oompa Loompa (won) - pair of breasts - bob barker (husband) and a showcase showdown contestant (myself - I wore a shirt that said "I throb for bob.") - jane Fonda (husband) and Richard Simmons (me) (won)
this year my husband is going to go as Kim kardashian all glammd up and I'm going to go as her surrogate - looking completely busted (tired, nauseous, pale) which isn't that hard to emulate bc, well, pregnancy sucks.
A back up costume was duchesss Kate (also looking pretty beat up) and prince William bc that B!$&@ keeps stealing my thunder every single pregnancy! Haha! Oh and we get hyperemesis and have a love of diamonds.
@btm013 I love to see another married couple getting super into Halloween costumes! My husband and I have done Macho Man & Ms. Elizabeth, Vincent Vega & Mia Wallace, Kurt Cobain & Courtney Love, and this year we are doing Wayne and Garth.
DD is going as Poppy from Trolls. Usually I don't dress up but in July me and my best friend did a Harry Potter Themed bar crawl and my costume was great so I figured I would wear it again when we took DD trick or treating. I wore a Gryffindor Robe with a sign that said "Give a Sock, Free an Elf, Join S.P.E.W TODAY!" and it has a sock on it.
@btm013 love all the couple costume ideas and LOVE this year's idea!! When I found out Kate was pregnant I was like, damnit, wasn't she pregnant with me last time--thunder stealer...! Then I was like...dude, why do you keep getting pregnant? You're an angel woman for putting up with Hyperemesis every pregnancy... stealallmythunderyouneedit.
@Dumbgurl04 oh man, DS would LOVE to dress up as Poppy I'm sure. How cute!
DS: EDD, December 19th, 2014. Born, December 19th, 2014! DD: EDD, July 18th, 2016. Born, July 19th, 2016!
We always dress up. DS1 used to do themed family costumes with us but he wants to do his own thing now. Last year DS2 (his first Halloween at 2 months old) was Elvis. He has a TON of dark hair so it was perfect. This year he's going to be Ace Ventura. Not exactly sure what DH and I will be yet. Maybe DH can be Dan Marino...
@okayrunner I'm wearing the same thing! Planning to wear it to work and for the trick or treaters. I will probably take a picture in the shirt for a Halloween FB announcement as well.
DD wants to be a minion. I'm taking her trick or treating and consider dropping $$ on a Scarlett dress, but I'm too cheap given that I'm pregnant and a) probably won't be able to use it again and b) will be uncomfortable in it.
RIP Dr. Irving Fishman - 10/1/19-7/25/10 - thank you for holding on for me. You made my wedding day complete.
@JJMNO1616 that is so cute! I’m thinking of doing that for my announcement to my class.
As for us: DD wants to be an astronaut. I want to find a shirt with a moon on the belly. The dog will be an alien, and DH will be something within the theme.
We’ll go to a few houses, I think, then call it a night!
I don't really ever dress up, but I already bought a Rei Star Wars costume for my kiddo. Generally speaking my kiddo is too shy to enjoy Halloween, but last year she did start showing a tiny bit of interest by the 5th house. I keep waiting for her to get into it, so maybe this is the year.
I just found out a friend of ours is having an impromptu wedding 'reception' (/party) (they had a small destination wedding) in town this month and they are doing a huge Halloween themed event. Soooo now I need to figure out a 'real' costume. Uggghhhhhhh....

I would love to dress up, may throw something together that is thrifty but warm!
My DD will be Tigger! Her first year out!! She moves so it will be exciting keeping up with her! Just trick or treating in town, they block off two streets for the festivities!
With DDs Bday so soon after I will be busy getting ready for that and will barely have halloween organized! Should be fun regardless!
I finally put my big girl panties on and signed my kiddo up for a Trunk or Treat party. It is through a local Mom group, so my social nerves are not excited. But my kid deserves to have fun despite my discomfort, and I don't want to pass on social anxiety to her.
Adult couple costume party help: I don't look pregnant enough to do any of the cute costume ideas on pinterest. Any ideas for a couples costume for an almost beer belly/bloated looking belly? Last year we were Wendy Peffercorn and Squints Polidoris.
