Morning Mamas!
How's everyone this week? Still moving? Admittedly, the moving part is getting much, much more difficult. Last weekend I hiked both days with the dog. Neither were strenuous hikes - more walks on relatively easy trails than anything - but I think I overdid it a bit on Saturday. The ligaments through my hips/groin were not very happy with me afterward. I managed to get in 2 modified prenatal yoga sessions this week, and 2 mini band workouts. We're heading down to the family cottage for the long weekend and I'm hoping to get in some good long walks and a prenatal yoga session or two while I can.
Speaking of fitness and furbabies - mine has definitely started to act much, much more protective of me when we're out for hikes. He is a griff - a very energetic, high prey drive hunting breed. Usually when we encounter other dogs out on the trail he tears off after them trying to play and chase. Last weekend we ran into a pair of German Shorthairs (a cousin breed with similar energy levels), and all he wanted to do was guard me despite their best efforts to engage him in play. It took a lot of cajoling to convince him it was ok to chase. Then this morning, I was in the middle of some side leg-raises, laying on my side. He came right up behind me, licked my cheek, and then laid his head down in the crook of my neck while I finished the exercise. So cute!
Re: Fitness Fridays - 10/6
This is my last week teaching at the studio and attending classes as the term ends and next term isn't viable for me .
We have our showcase on Friday where I'll perform burlesque . And after that my contortion will depend on how I feel and how I go at my appointment on Thursday. Out last midwife appointment at 34W+2 baby was breech we ate now on fortnightly appointments and I'm booked for a formal US to check the positioning .
Baby has been moving a lot the last few days and ive changed shape a bit so I'm hoping they are turning
My exercises have been focused on optimal birth positioning and if baby is or has turned by the ultrasound then I won't be able to do any more inversions arena will be officially finished with classes til I can go back after healing .
So I'm just focusing a lot of staying active and working like I mentioned on exercise that optimise babys positioning . Yoga and light exercises and trying to get out and walk around a bit. Been hard because Ive been on my feet a fair bit lately and when sitting it's uncomfortable to breath since baby's had their head smooshed up in my ribs
Avoiding laying on my back or reclining at all now .
I love how your pup is getting so protective of you. They have such strong pack protection instincts he'll be so excited to meet his pup lol
